13 euro two small slices of lamb takeaway is in my opinion completely overpriced. I should have looked at the portion before paying. I'll definitely not ve back even if it tastes good.

Fantastic food and cozy atmosphere at very reasonable prices. We went for dinner and you can get an entree + plat or plat + dessert for €23, or all three for €27. Rabbit pie was delicious and so was the house made terrine. Our waiter was also extremely welcoming and helpful with translating the whole menu to English. Would come again!

The staff is really nice and speaking English perfectly fine. We just went for a beer and she gave us some great advice about which beer to order. Good place to just sit down outside, watch people walk by and enjoy the good music they play inside.

One of the best restaurants I have been to in Paris. Expertly prepared dishes without high prices. The desserts are fantastic, especially the Raspberry mille feuilles. It's not in a busy area and it's not pretentious. The wait staff were very attentive and polite.

I went Sunday 28/9 night with a friend. I had the gigot d'agneau de lait and it was delicious. I also liked the wine coming from Pic Saint Loup area in Languedoc. My friend had a legumes cake with salad which aslo was very good (she's a vegetarian). I dont remember the price exactly but it was like 30 euro per person. I don't look too much at the price when the quality of raw matter/ingredient is good. Of course this is an unformal place to dine, not a restaurant with round tables and clothes, and it focuses on ingredients more than lavish accomodations.

I tried the rabbit pie, a first for me. The lobster bisque was my favorite, and a year later I still think about it. English speaking service helped my lack of recall at the end of a long day. They were gracious to take us without much advance.

This sleek epicerie offers quality French food in a relaxed atmosphere and at affordable prices. You can eat there too but the place is not as inviting as the one they have opened in Montmartre (Jeanne B)

We wanted to get to JEANNE A again when had been to Paris 2nd, but didn't have our time then, and were't able to there. We didn't speak well English that time, however all persons of JEANNE A was very kind with us. Of course, the tasty dishes and nice servise pleased us.

Yelp
This is the kind of ideal local dining experience that one might hope for in Paris--superior quality ingredients, not pretentious, not overrun with tourists, not too pricey, with a relaxed and cozy environment. Located near the Oberkampf metro stop, this portion of Rue Jean Pierre Timbaud has some nice independent shops, and isn't too far from the canal. You can get a 3 course lunch set for around 19 Euros (not including wine), and this spread will pretty much sate your appetite for the rest of the day. They had just shifted to a spring menu, and I tried their roasted chicken from the Perigord, plus potatoes gratin and a green salad. Wow, was this a substantial and delicious plate of comfort food. The complimentary bread is chewy and perfect for sopping up the chicken jus. For dessert, there was a small cup of creamy but not too sweet chocolate mousse. A work colleague and I ended up staying here chatting for over 2 hours. We never felt hurried by the server, and the place never got too overcrowded at midday. Jeanne A, I salute you! This was definitely one of my most enjoyable meals during my stay.

Yelp
Party of 13 on a Saturday night, with online reservations possible? No problem for Jeanne A. I host a monthly supper club and our last event was at Jeanne B, a sister restaurant, and had gone so well that we thought a visit to "A" was merited. We were not disappointed. Not only did we have a fantastic night with traditional food (I had a great boeuf bourgignon which followed a parsnip veloute) and drink (2 magnums of wine and a regular size bottle consumed) but lots of people got to meet new people and possibly kindle new friendships. Friendly staff, great food, very reasonable prices, and a nice location.

Yelp
My husband and I stumbled upon this gem because of the delicious odors that emanated from the kitchen. We followed our noses inside and found people serving juicy chicken thighs and scooping glazed garden vegetables out for display. We were Charlie and this was the chicken factory. The restaurant is small but beautifully decorated as if we were browsing through a farmer's market. We were seated right away. I ordered the Lunch Special which consisted of their famous chicken, salad, and potatoes. My husband ordered a salmon appetizer and the milk fed lamb for the main course. Everything was succulent and tender. We didn't have any room left for dessert, so we took our lemon cake and apple pie on the road as a sweet souvenir. I definitely recommend Jeanne A!

Yelp
This was our most enjoyable meal in Paris. We had glasses of Cotes du Rhone with our meal. Shared the sauteed mushrooms with garlic and herbs for appetizer, then had the roast chicken leg and milk-fed lamb main dishes, each served with a green salad and potato slices baked in a creamy sauce. This is how natural, unprocessed meat is supposed to taste like. Ended it with the apple tart served with ice-cream (I forgot which flavor) and a chocolate cake (quite soft in the inside). Service-wise, we had the best waiter and he made excellent suggestions for everything we ate and drank. He was very entertaining and answered every question we had. Frankly, for a country which doesn't have the best rep for service, he defies that stereotype with utter charm. ps, Thank you John Talbott as I read your review and decided to come here.

Yelp
After a busy day touring Paris we made our way out to: Jeanne A, 42 rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud 75011 Paris, looking for a classic bistro meal and got exactly that. As with all our meals in Paris, service was very warm and friendly helping out what we could not interpret :). Wife had the "signature" rotisserie chicken, scallop potatoes and salad, I had the lamb, scallop potatoes and salad. Both were very good, the chicken is indeed good and who doesn't like scalloped potatoes. Another serving please :). Split a rice pudding for dessert and had a carafe of Rhone blend with dinner.

Yelp
Very accommodating staff. Though they didn't speak much English, they tried to their best to meet or very needs. This place is half deli and half restaurant. Once you walk in you get greeted right away. We sat down at a table in the back and ordered the lamb and duck and it was amazing. They were juicy and tender. The salad was great as well and so we're the potatoes. This is highly recommended place to eat.

Yelp
My wife and I met some close friends of hers from her college days for dinner hoping to get into Astier next door without a reservation. It was a mistake that turned fortunate for us. Jeanne A was our second fiddle for the night, but should have been the first choice all along. The server was fantastic and made room for four hungry travelers. The food was the right level of classic French cuisine that simply blended together very well. We dined there in October, so I can't remember what we had for dinner, but I won't forget the accommodating staff and quality of the experience. If we stumbled by there again i'm sure we'd stop in to satisfy hunger.

Yelp
What a nice place. Seemed to be a locals restaurant, but was so very nice to us as well, a group of American university students. Staff was extremely patient and kind. The food was wonderful. Highly, highly recommend.

Yelp
We saw this resto across from our brunch spot and wanted to give it a try. Two and three course fixed price menus offered many choices. Nothing disappointed. Good spot for vegetarians which is tough in Paris we've noticed. Definitely recommend going for the full three course as the desserts are something you don't want to miss.

Yelp
I ordered the rabbit pastry. I cannot describe how delicious this was. My other friends had the best lamb of their lives. Come early to get a seat outside. Friendly, helpful staff. This was a great choice for us- fine French food on a traveler's budget. Doesn't get much better than this. Pretty casual atmosphere. It feels like a concept foodie store meets deli meets melt in your mouth deliciousness. At home I usually cook vegetarian. When in Paris, my friends, French cooking comes from good meat. That is what the French do; well besides the bread, cheese, dessert, and wine. (In no particular order) Yum. I digress. You will not be disappointed with Jeanne A.

Yelp
A small & unpretentious, welcoming restaurant in 11th arrondissement. We shared oysters, I had roast chicken & my daughter roast pork, both with veggies & salad. We shared cheese plate for dessert. All delicious. Also very good wine by the glass. Very personable service & reasonable prices.

Yelp
A price performer at 27 euros for three courses, with a decent wine selection to boot. (The menu applies at night AND over the weekend.) Don't expect the food to be as solid as next door at Astier. Still, it's a great place to invite guests visiting Paris for a host of French classics. Also, while there's a ton of meat on the menu, there are also several vegetarian plats; it can satisfy meat lovers and animals lovers in one fell swoop. The atmosphere is modern, casual, sleek. The desserts were sort of a let-down, especially having tasted some fabulous ones at their sister restaurant, but we can't have it all, can we?!

Yelp
We were staying at an apartment in this neighborhood and read about Jeanne A on a local food website. We were in the mood for classic but modernized French cuisine and this seemed like the perfect spot. We were not disappointed. The space is beautiful, spacious, and modern. Very welcoming overall. Our French skills are not very good, but thankfully, our excellent waiter, Benjamin, helped us navigate every aspect of the menu. He was extremely helpful--he explained every part of the menu and was very patient with us. He really made the entire experience. He was the best waiter we had while in Paris. Of course, the food did not disappoint. It was hearty without being heavy. Every bite was delicious. We sampled a variety of things from the menu in our prix fixe tour of the restaurant. The highlights were the artichoke, the lamb, and the amazing chocolate cake. One of the best recommendations I can give is that there were no other tourists there--it was entirely locals. What could be a better indication! The price was very reasonable--I believe about 100 euros for two people including a bottle of 40 euro wine.

Yelp
Had a great late night dinner here with my wife. We ordered the smoked duck appetizer and the roasted leg of lamb. We really loved both. The waitresses were extremely helpful in describing and translating their menu for us. Highly recommended for friendly service and really good food!
