A very well significant Jeju museum dedicated to the Haenyeo community, the female sea divers. If you have watched the K drams like ‘When life gives you Tangerines 🍊’ and ‘Welcome to Samdal-ri’ you can absolutely 💯 understand the great great history of these people 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

A very well organised museum exhibits the history of Jeju Haenyeo (women female divers) from ancient times and the exhibits are donated by the Haenyeo themselves. Haenyeo who are traditional female free divers from Jeju island. Some of the women continue to divers into their 80s.

I enjoyed our visit here. The museum was nicely laid out, with good explanations and with interesting exhibits. I learned a lot. Before the 1970´s they dived in thin cotton outfits, which is just nuts to see. It’s amazing how these women lived. Please come and support this museum. There is a refillable water purifying station too- just lovely! ☺️
