Where to chase cherry blossoms in South Korea - SilverKris

"Set in Seogwipo around the Jeju Sports Complex and expected to bloom 23–30 March 2023, this short, three-day peak window showcases the island's exclusive King cherry trees—known for larger, more luxurious petals—and requires good timing (and a bit of luck) to see them at full bloom. The festival pairs the rare floral spectacle with local music, evening performances and public contests, giving visitors both scenic views and a lively community atmosphere." - SilverKris

Jeju World Cup Stadium & Jeju United FC Matches Jeju World Cup Stadium is a fantastic place to catch a Jeju United FC match, offering a unique blend of sports and scenery that makes it one of the most enjoyable stadium experiences in South Korea. The stadium itself is well-designed, with open-air seating that allows for breathtaking views of Hallasan in the distance and the surrounding coastline. Watching a match here, especially as the sun sets, is a spectacle in itself. One of the best seating options is the table seats, which provide a more comfortable and social way to enjoy the game. I always opt for these when available, as they offer a great vantage point without the crowding of standard stadium seating. However, a word of caution—while some tables have solid chairs, others rely on plastic lawn chairs that are far from sturdy. At the last match, the person sitting behind me had the misfortune of snapping the legs on his chair as he sat down! Hopefully, the stadium considers upgrading these in the future. Another major plus is the lax food and drink policy. Unlike many stadiums that restrict outside food, Jeju World Cup Stadium allows fans to bring in snacks and drinks, making for a much more relaxed and enjoyable experience. You can grab some street food or convenience store snacks before heading in, which is a huge bonus compared to overpriced concessions elsewhere. If there’s one thing I wish would change, it’s the turnout. Jeju United FC deserves more local support—the tickets are reasonably priced, the atmosphere is friendly, and it’s a great way to enjoy an evening out on the island. More people should take advantage of the affordability and accessibility of these games. Overall, if you’re on Jeju and looking for a fun, relaxed way to spend an evening, a Jeju United FC match at the World Cup Stadium is a fantastic option. Just be mindful of those flimsy chairs!

Guess that I was just so lucky be able to watch a national league in one of legendary stadium that hosted World Cup 2002. What a derby with capital city gang, FC Seoul. Amazing vibe. The chants between two sides were roaring all the time during the match. This stadium can be such a romantic place for a date either 😁

A lil run down after almost 10 years since the world cup. But just standing there exploring alone and looking at the world cup history, one could still imagine the hype and vibes it created back then.

We could not get in because they closed on that day. But from the outside, the decoration is cool with dol harubang.

The stadium where World Cup 2002 was held. A very special design where the pitch was built below ground level to combat with the windy environment
