"A Feast for the Senses on the Djemaa el Fna Described by writer Tahir Shah as the “greatest show on Earth,” no visit to Marrakech would be complete without a visit to thefamous night market on the Djemaa el Fna. Arrive before sunset and park yourself atone of the various cafés with terraces overlooking the square to watch performersset up; then venture into the fray in search of adventure. Silk-clad acrobats, wide-eyed storytellers, sly snake charmers, jangling belly dancers, and capricious monkey handlers all emerge from the darkness, ringing the edge of the food stalls with their own special brand of entertainment. When you tire of the heckling, prowl the market in search of good things to eat: bite-size morsels of grilled lamb rubbed in cumin, sardines fried in chermoula, peppery snails, and sheep’s heads for the brave. Then nudge up alongside a family of locals at the table and settle in for the feast. If you’re nervous about going it alone, you can sign up for a food tour with Canadian tour guide and all-round good egg Mandy Sinclair of Tasting Marrakech ; she'll help you find the best stalls while introducing you to the secrets and delights of traditional Moroccan street food."

I was debating on how many stars to give this riad. For the service the guys at the reception gave us - 5 stars. Thank you to AbdeSalam and Mohamed for their top notch work. For the riad itself - let me list the Pros and Cons. PRO: 1. Location - right by the big square Jemaa el-Fnaa, pretty easy to find, although it is on a hidden street like most of the riads. It is behind the Caffe de France, just 1-2 minutes walk. 2. It's traditional 3. Customer service - top notch, as mentioned 4. Breakfast included 5. AC - although not needed 6. WiFi 7. Close to restaurants and souks 8.Mint tea and pastries were served upon arrival 9. Bed was made every day, towels were changed daily CONS: 1. Old building 2. Noisy - doors, people in the nearby rooms, you can hear everything. People coming in and out the riad also 3. Doors - pretty low, we hit our head multiple times and it's pretty sharp 4. Outdated everything , bathroom sink and shower 5. Smell of mold inside the bathroom and sometimes in the room , you need to keep the door open ( I think they try to cover the mold smell with new paint ) 6. Big cockroach in the room and by the pool 7. Pretty overwhelming fragrance smell throughout the building Now back to other details. I was a little scared at first after reading the other reviews regarding the second building you might get your room in. I'd like to talk about that. They have two buildings. The first one you go to check in and where you have breakfast ( on the rooftop ). That's the main building and it looks more fancy. We got a room in the other building called Terraces. There's a short walk to it among the walls which is not scary. We felt safe all the time , it was pretty interesting. You'd see some motorcycles and other doors which are homes and also you'd pass the praying room ( not sure if it's the mosque). The entrance to the terrace building is right next to it. This 2nd building of the Riad is smaller. I am going to post video so you can see how the surrounding looks . It's very easy to get to it and safe as mentioned earlier. If you have mobility issues, ask for a first floor room, since the steps are pretty tall. You also get shampoo, shower gel, toilet paper , tissues and there is a safe box in the room. If you leave to early , before the breakfast is served ( 8-10), they can pack a to go menu for you ( I'll post a photo ).

Fantastic experience! Close to everything and the service is top quality. Proactive with Whatsapp communication before hand and throughout the trip. Omar set up all of our tours and we had a better experience than all others on the tour. Book through the Riad! We would love to come back and stay here again!

Honestly we had such a bad room, we stayed for three nights and asked to be moved from the first room on the first night… but only moved us to a better room on the last night. There were plenty of rooms free as well, so they lied to us. The customer service was so bad. They also took us to another building which wasn’t as nice. If you value your sleep, I wouldn’t recommend this place. After staying at another riad I wouldn’t recommend staying here… save your money and go somewhere else.

The staff members are very welcome and nice. I love the beauty of the interior and the smell of the building. I love that they provide breakfast and dinner with a Western mix vibe. I enjoyed my stay and I recommend this hotel!

My girlfriend and I went in for a Hammam treatment and were dealing with Zanib, the lack of transparency and straight up lies she told to earn our business is the reason for my rating. The Hammam was cold, only one masseuse for the both of us, and she made us pay prior to the service.

Great Riad! Stunning interior, friendly staff and good breakfast included on the beautiful terrace! The location is central and close to everything you need to see in Marrakech- we would walk everywhere and needed no taxi other than for the airport. The room we stayed in was spacious because we had the superior room. The shower was good and had no problems with it. Very affordable and great value for money! For breakfast, typically you’d get salad, bowl of sweet yogurt, orange juice, freshly made bread with butter and jam options! Other things vary- one morning we had savoury pastry which was delicious and the other morning we were given pancakes with chocolate sauce instead which was also delicious.

The riad is beautiful especially in the main common areas - the room I booked was more minimal and cosy but clean and more than sufficient for our stay. Rooftop dining and service was great. Hassan made my stay that much more pleasant- he was extremely helpful and accommodating even though he already finished his shift. No request was too hard and all the staff were so polite and friendly. Location is convenient and minutes walk to main Jemma el-fnaa main square, restaurants and rooftop bars. I highly recommend staying at this Riad and if in Marrakech again I would not hesitate to book again.

Our experience here was excellent. The public areas were beautiful. The room was great and the rose pedals were a nice touch. The staff was extremely friendly. After a late night out the staff even checked on us in the morning to make sure everything was okay. We were scammed through air bnb and they were very understanding and helpful while we got everything resolved. I would love to go back.
