The Jen Male Maldives Shangri-La is at a great location; very central and close to many offices. The service levels at this hotel are Excellent. The Housekeeping staff were excellent; I feel sorry for not asking for her name; she did an excellent job every day and kept the room spick and span. The breakfast is perfect. I really appreciate the kind courtesies extended by Dilshan, Nishan, Riyaz, Heshara, Harbick, Vivek, Prashanth, etc. They all had the knack of knowing exactly what you require. The entire team's service is swift and with a smile. I noticed that the team is exceptionally good in remembering your choices and extremely swift with service. All the staff, I mean everyone, at the breakfast are extremely friendly, kind and courteous; I am sorry I could not remember all their names.||During check in and check out, the staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. I must mention that Heena Nawab Naqvi was very kind and patient with me as my cards were malfunctioning; however, she graciously waited till I used the right card and PIN. Overall, an excellent stay. All The Best...

Not a bad Shangri La but not the best. For the price the rooms themselves are a bit tired/dingy but service is attentive. |While space and facilities in the room are good, it is started to look a bit tired around the edges. |Bed was comfortable, good choice of channels on tv, decent room service menu. Bathroom facilities are spacious - nice shower and extra toiletries available in case you forgot something. |Rooftop restaurant has a decent local and international menu. Nice small pool on roof too. |Breakfast on first floor - small ish restaurant with limited choice for those looking for an international breakfast. Live eggs station but otherwise bakery and asian/indian items. |Coffee shop on ground floor. |Airport very close -10/15 mins so ideal for those staying overnight for transfer. |Overall it felt like a Pricey product for short stay.

Stayed a couple of nights. Very close to airport (15 mins) with transfers available. Great service. Nice coffee shop on ground floor. Rooms a bit dated now but still very good. Nice spacious bathroom with toiletries in case you have forgotten anything. Rooftop menu was good but breakfast was a bit limited (live eggs station available and some international options but mainly Asian).

Rooms were a little outdated for the price, but still giving this hotel 5 stars for a few reasons: beautiful rooftop pool and restaurant with a delicious breakfast buffet (make sure to order a masala dhosa!), incredible cleaning service (very thorough, and one day they left a folded towel in the shape of a bird on my bed which was so adorable), and very friendly front desk staff. The biggest reason for me, though, is they go above and beyond for their guests. I realized when I reached the airport for my departing flight that I had lost my national ID. I called the hotel, and they immediately sent a member of the cleaning crew to look in my room. They found it and rushed it to the airport for me so they could get it to me before my gate closed. HUGELY appreciative and could not speak more highly of their compassionate, quick response!

We had flight back home late in the evening and arrived by seaplane at around 3 in der afternoon. That is why is e booked a Dayroom via email and the experience was great. The booking process was easy the pick-up from the airport perfect. Everyone knew we were the couple which stays in the hotel for the day and everyone took care of us (the hotel we came from and the JEN Maldives). The food at the restaurant was good. We enjoyed the view from the restaurant and left the hotel two hours before the departure of the plane.

We reached Male late at night, so it made financial sense and was also a safer option to stay in Male for the night and only continued our journey to the island resort in the next Morning.||||We chose Jen, which turned out to be an excellent choice. The hotel is like 15mins drive from the airport. They offer airport transfer on both directions. Walking out of the arrival hall, we were greeted by the hotel driver/staff, which was seamless. ||||We had the executive room, which was quite spacious. The toilet and showering were in separate rooms. The building and rooms were a bit dated, but very clean. The bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. We had no complaint at all.||||The morning breakfast buffet was at lvl1. It is not sumptuous, but has decent spread including bread, porridge, some well-prepared warm and cold dishes. ||||The hotel also has a swimming pool and gym on the roof with a terrific coastal view.||||After breakfast, the hotel sent us back to the jetty where we found and boarded the island resort speed boat. ||||Overall, it's a pleasant stay and trouble free. IMO, this hotel is a good choice for Male layover.

We had an overnight before heading to the resort at the Jen hotel.|Late evening arrival check in was seamless thanks to Aisha. Quiet, clean room.|Great coffee and light breakfast served by the delightful friendly Sanjit in the hotel cafe.|The pool was crystal clear and a great temp. Perfect overnight for us.

As hotel is near to airport, a complimentary airport pick up / drop off service is available. Handy and good. ||Hotel foyer is small for this grade of hotel chain. ||Reception staff was all very nice and courteous. ||Late check out NOT feasible here. Even though you check in late !. ||Should be relabelled as air crew hotel...stewardesses seen daily in reception areas in big groups. ||Rooms...in dire need of renovation and upgrade. Air con needs cleaning and maintenance. |Room given was dingy + moist stale smelling and changed to a more spacious room (Make sure you get the room you ordered, not an alternative on check-in). |Otherwise, good shower/ bed/amenities/ TV/ lost of sockets/ lighting/glass water bottles. |New updated rooms are the best - less stale smell; fresher outlook. |Room windows - do not open. |Ask for sea/ pier view. |Breakfast has a good choice and it is fresh and very filing. Service is good. |Room service is variable but good. Enthusiastic and polite and they actually enjoy their work. |||Roof top pool. What a view from here! ||Azura restaurant - top floor - overpriced and self added fees in bill. Use other local restaurants. ||All tourists must remember that there is an additional ~26% tax to pay by all tourists! Feels like being punished for visiting this Island.
