JEN Maldives Malé by Shangri-La

Our trip was a mix of work and holiday. The hotel staff were amazing. So helpful, kind and friendly. We travelled with an 8 month old baby and they were wonderful with her. Breakfast was particularly great - Riyaz manages the breakfast and was so helpful. They reserved us a table and high chair every morning and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was very clean and our rooms were cleaned to a very high standard every day. Reception were lovely, they attended to our every need without hesitation and always with a smile. The airport transferees were brilliant

I recently visited Hotel Jen with my wife and son, and we had a wonderful experience. The pool area was beautiful — clean, relaxing, and perfect for a family swim. My son especially loved it! The food was excellent, The staff were also very friendly and attentive, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We truly had a great family time here, and we’ll definitely be visiting again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, good food, and a relaxing atmosphere!

Comfortable hotel with amazing staffs especially from the food and beverage department, I would definitely like to take an opportunity to recognise Mr Budhika and Chef Ajay from the restaurant for a wonderful service provided whilst I was staying at the hotel, very knowledgeable and courteous. The hotel is in the main island yet close to everything. Good location however for the beach you may have to travel a bit. Clean and good hotel.

the spa experience was amazing, with a really relaxing massage. Unfortunately, the pool experience and bar upstairs really let things down. One of the main reasons we booked here was the infinity pool. There was a children’s party and they literally held a “screaming competition” as a game. The noise was unbearable and neither parents nor staff intervened, which was very disappointing for a hotel at this price point. We were unable to order anything to drink because of that reason. The food was also a let down and actually made me unwell afterwards, though to the hotel’s credit the staff handled it professionally and refunded us, which we really appreciated. We appreciated the complementary transport to the airport. But can’t recommend staying here if you’re a couple looking to unwind.

Pros:Located extremely conveniently in Malé, it offers free airport transfers via speedboat and is just a few minutes’ drive from the terminal. Strong service levels earn praise: staff have been described as attentive, friendly and helpful, particularly at breakfast and check‑in. Great rooftop experience: the infinity pool on the top floor offers excellent views of the city/ocean, making it a standout feature. Some rooms are noted as showing signs of wear: guests mention that the décor or maintenance could be fresher—particularly if you’re expecting resort‑level luxury. As a hotel in the city rather than a beach resort, the rooms tend to be smaller and there’s no alcohol served (in common with Malé’s regulations). Overall:If you’re staying in Malé (for transit, business or a short city break) then JEN Maldives Malé by Shangri‑La is a very strong option—especially for convenience, service and rooftop ambience. If you’re coming for a full beach‑resort holiday expecting sprawling villas and large grounds, then there may be better fits—but for Malé itself, it’s among the best.

I had the pleasure to stay at Jen Maldives for 3 nights during my business visit. What made my stay very enjoyable was the hospitality extended by the concierge staff namely, Aisha, Anie and Faan. They were kind and patient to explain to me places to visit around Male, as well as traditional Maldivian specialties in food, clothing and keepsakes. I appreciate all the kind support by the Jen staff in making my stay comfortable and memorable. Appreciate it!

The Jen Male Maldives Shangri-La is at a great location; very central and close to many offices. The service levels at this hotel are Excellent. The Housekeeping staff were excellent; I feel sorry for not asking for her name; she did an excellent job every day and kept the room spick and span. The breakfast is perfect. I really appreciate the kind courtesies extended by Dilshan, Nishan, Riyaz, Heshara, Harbick, Vivek, Prashanth, etc. They all had the knack of knowing exactly what you require. The entire team's service is swift and with a smile. I noticed that the team is exceptionally good in remembering your choices and extremely swift with service. All the staff, I mean everyone, at the breakfast are extremely friendly, kind and courteous; I am sorry I could not remember all their names.||During check in and check out, the staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. I must mention that Heena Nawab Naqvi was very kind and patient with me as my cards were malfunctioning; however, she graciously waited till I used the right card and PIN. Overall, an excellent stay.
