Booked this hotel for a week in early December. The location is great, it’s right next to Somerset MRT and connected to several shopping centres, which was super convenient.
My only downside was the customer service, which unfortunately didn’t impress. Throughout my stay, I ordered takeout multiple times via GrabFood and FoodPanda. I was on the 15th floor, and the hotel uses two separate lifts (one from Ground to Level 10 for the lobby, and another on the opposite end that takes you from Level 10 upwards).
Each time I requested for my food to be brought up to my room, I was told it wasn’t possible due to “sanitation issues,” which didn’t make much sense to me, especially since I had just stayed at the Siam Anantara in Bangkok where food delivery to the room wasn’t an issue at all. For a 4-star hotel charging over $300 AUD a night, this was definitely disappointing.
On one of the days, I even ordered basic amenities (not food) via GrabFood, and when I called the concierge, they initially refused again. Only after I insisted and pointed out that it wasn’t food, so the sanitation excuse didn’t apply, did they begrudgingly bring it up to my room.
If you’re after a short stay and aren’t too fussed about service, the location alone makes it a great option. Otherwise, I personally wouldn’t recommend it. I do understand it was close to the Christmas period, so it may have been a busy time for the staff, which could explain the drop in customer service, but it was still noticeable during my stay.
