JEN Singapore Tanglin by Shangri-La

Booked via a third party service (Agoda). Hotel definitely caters for business traveling guests, but not limited to tourist. Great in terms of location, directly next to Orchard Boulevard underground train station which has shaded path connecting to the hotel, and rental bicycle available within the hotel. Connecting directly to Tanglin mall but the mall does not have much going on for a tourist visit, just for some quick needed shopping. Hotel experience wasn't great. No greetings but instead of unhappy stares from the staff. Check-in was fairly quick but could only say it feels extremely robotic despite having a staff-to-guest check in. Was given non-functioning key card twice and having to go up and down the hotel just to get it right. Concierge were not intuitive in providing guest the hotel experience or any assistance but mostly just there until guest approach them. It is almost not obvious as the concierge desks is just next to those of reception. Only positive was that they are able to lend us umbrellas when there were heavy raining. Definitely not happy with the security check for when I left my "Do Not Disturb" on for too long with the front desk attendant and security entering my room while I was having a nap, understood that it may be a concern but could have been a call or a longer, louder knocking instead of a couple minutes of knocking and direct entering the room. Have to get up quickly from a drowsy nap to check who opened the door and was given an apology and them explaining they closed the door when they heard my friend showering. Not a good experience if hotel attendant can enter the room while no one was available to answer despite putting on "do not disturb".

The staff at this hotel is beyond excellent. So helpful and so very friendly. After flying from LAX 4 very tired ladies arrive in the morning and the desk clerk works a miracle to get us our rooms so that we could check in early. Desk clerk Kelvin was continually amazing helping us with anything and everything every single day. And so friendly. Staff in the restaurant and coffee bar were wonderful also. We left feeling like we were leaving family

I have severe nasal allergies, staff did their best to accommodate me by arranging a suitable room. They even provided an air purifier in the room, and they were very attentive and smiles. The hotel room was designed to be tidy and of adequate size, though I felt the windows were a bit small. During the rainy season, it can feel a bit humid. The gym is well-equipped with a variety of exercise machines. While I'm not particularly fond of swimming, I really enjoyed the hotel's pool—it was a lovely spot to sit and breathe in the fresh air. The hotel facilities are comprehensive. All the staff at the front desk, concierge, and housekeeping were excellent and highly efficient. Oh, and I almost forgot—they also offer bicycles for borrowing and provide a great complimentary shuttle bus to Sentosa! Also, the uncle at the noodle station during breakfast was particularly cheerful and seemed to really enjoy his work.

Booked a two nights stay via Hotel.com to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Room was not large but it’s comfortable and contains everything that’s necessary. The crew even helped to setup the sofa for sleeping, probably after knowing there’s a kid with us, allowing us to sleep better. We received a complimentary cake from them too. Breakfast spread was good and they have a system that’s similar to Marche that indicates a table is taken. Hotel is located within walking distance from the Orchard shopping street and there’s a TEL station just besides. It’s also connected to Tanglin Mall in case one likes to grab something.

We had a lovely stay, the staff were kind, friendly, and very attentive throughout. They were especially thoughtful and accommodating for our family with a young toddler, which made such a difference. The rooms were generally fine, though the floors could have been cleaned a bit more thoroughly. The location is great for a family with young kids, as the hotel is connected to the local shopping mall, making it very convenient for food, shopping, and entertainment. Overall, we really appreciated the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff, which made our stay enjoyable.

My fiancé booked a room for us to get over a Fukuoka holiday and to celebrate our 3rd year anniversary at Hotel Jen Singapore and had a lovely stay. We chose it in view of its central location and convenience. The experience was made extra special thanks to Scholastica and Yin Yin, who were both attentive, professional, and genuinely caring. Complimentary upgrade and the well decorated and stocked up (macarons, rainbow cake slice and red wine) room took us completely by surprise. Their thoughtful service and warm hospitality really stood out and made us feel well taken care of. Thank you for making our anniversary celebration memorable — we truly appreciated it and would be happy to return! 💙

Our stay at JEN Tanglin Singapore was exceptional from start to finish. The rooms were modern, comfortable, and perfectly located for exploring the city, but what truly made our visit unforgettable was the incredible staff. A special shout‑out to Kim, the chef, whose warm personality and cheerful energy ensured we started every morning with a smile. His breakfasts were a highlight of our trip. And Amy, our wonderful waitress, impressed us with her attentiveness — we never waited more than five seconds for anything. Their genuine care and professionalism elevated our entire experience. We can’t wait to return.

It was a nice stay, despite the fact that concierge didn’t help with bags upon arrival. Hotel’s location is quiet, despite 1 metro station away from Orchard Road. Orchard Blvd metro station entrance was on the opposite side of the road, thus making commuting very easy. Hotel is well maintained, the size of the room we (family of 3) stayed resembled Hong Kong hotel rooms (small). I guess this is the reason that Jen Tanglin is slightly cheaper than other Shangri-La hotels. Room was well equipped and maintained. Surprisingly, breakfast didn’t have any pork items (e.g bacon, sausages). Otherwise, variety of food for the breakfast was good. Overall, satisfied with my stay.
