JEN Singapore Tanglin by Shangri-La

We stayed for 3 nights and the hotel was booked by our travel agency. This seems more like a business hotel than a place set up for tourists. ||Our check-in took a while and there was no warm welcome. I think the receptionist was a trainee and her supervisor, while helping her through the process, did not speak to us once. ||The room on the 11th floor was smaller than we expected and overlooked the pool. ||We ate in the buffet on the first night as recommended by our driver. It was OK but not exceptional. We also had buffet breakfast each morning and the choice was pretty good. ||There is a bar on the 2nd(?) floor but it was closed every night of our stay. The hotel is connected to a large mall with lots of dining options. ||Subway and bus links nearby. ||I wouldn’t stay here again.

Excellent hotel. Situated across the road from MRT. Great choice at breakfast. Wonderful staff. So friendly always helpful and knowledgeable. Nothing is too much trouble Rooms are excellent with lovely housekeepers. Highly recommend. Will always return

I had the pleasure to enjoy a complimentary stay for one night recently at the Club King room, plus complimentary buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. All i can say is almost everything is perfect. Location is great, just next to the MRT station. Checking in is considered quite fast, took about 10 min only. I have heard of worst cases. The concierge guy is very professional. Entered the room at 315pm. The king bed is so comfortable. The complimentary snacks which is until 4pm at the lounge is quite meh actually, but nice environment and good service from the staff. Buffet dinner spread is very good, i really enjoyed the boston lobster (i think) it is chewy, and the sliced beef, it is so tender. Durian pengat is yummy. Buffet b/f is good too. Will just nitpick a few things. It will be perfect if there is a bathtub. Tried calling for housekeeping to request for an extra bath towel but no one answered. Finally, checking out, there was a very long Q at 12pm and it is not moving. Cos the 2 check out counters were occupied by 2 guests who took a really long time, wonder what's the issue. Luckily, a male staff came to our rescue, express check out solely done by him within seconds. Kudos to him.

The bed was comfortable with quality linens, ensuring a good night’s sleep. I appreciated the little touches like complimentary bottled water, tea and coffee facilities, and a well‑stocked bathroom with quality toiletries. Wi‑Fi was strong and stable throughout my stay.Facilities & Amenities:The hotel offers a well‑equipped gym, a relaxing outdoor pool surrounded by greenery, and several dining options with varied cuisines. Breakfast at the hotel was a highlight — fresh, plentiful, and well presented, with both Western and Asian selections.Service:Staff members were consistently friendly, polite, and ready to assist. Housekeeping did an excellent job maintaining cleanliness and replenishing supplies daily.Location:While not directly next to an MRT station, the hotel provides easy access via a short walk or taxi to Orchard Road. It’s a peaceful retreat compared to staying right in the middle of the busy shopping district.Check‑out:The check‑out process was quick and efficient. Luggage storage service was available for those with late flights, which was very convenient.Overall Feedback:My stay at Shangri-La Tanglin Singapore was comfortable and enjoyable. The combination of friendly service, comfortable rooms, and quality facilities makes it a great choice for both leisure and business travellers. I would happily return in the future.

For my sister’s birthday this year, I decided to surprise her with a luxurious hotel staycay. After much consideration, I decided upon Jen Hotel Tanglin due to their reasonable pricing, impressive accommodation and excellent location within the Orchard Road area. As an added surprise, I had written in to them via email asking if they would be able to arrange some small decor to mark the occasion. I had only expected perhaps a slice of cake or a towel origami with a card to wish her happy birthday but to my surprise, the incredible front desk team actually upgraded my sister into a suite that was beyond our expectations! For their kind gesture I wish to sincerely thank the team and I look forward to more staycays there in the future. XO

Had a really nice stay here! The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The location was convenient, and everything we needed was easily accessible. Overall, a smooth and pleasant experience — definitely deserves 5 stars!

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It does not live up to the price point. The minibar is completely empty, and there’s no option to purchase water or any drinks when you come back late from exploring the city. The nearest convenience store is a 7-Eleven, but after a full day of walking, no one wants to go out again just to grab water. The hotel has a somewhat “cheap” feel to it — there are promotional signs everywhere, which takes away from any sense of calm or aesthetic. It doesn’t feel relaxing or thoughtfully designed. The service also left a lot to be desired, unfortunately. In a city like Singapore, where there are so many fantastic hotel options, I believe it’s worth spending a little more. The difference in service, amenities, and overall experience at other hotels is genuinely significant.

What a fantastic breakfast. A lot to choose from and you won't go hungry, plenty of freshly made juices, omelette pancakes and waffles.|The guests get through the rice dishes, noodles and dim sums quickly and they are soon replaced.|The Dinner buffet was good, but book ahead as it gets busy, again the food was to a high standard with plenty of options..|It's very close to the shopping district of Orchard road, with an easy walk or one ride away on the the MRT.||We were a family of 4, and had two rooms at the end of the corridor which can be opened up together by the use of double doors which was very handy.|Reception was easy in and easy out.|The only down side was one member of staff at the concierge wasn't very knowledgeable on where we could obtain a family tick for the public transport, so we ended up finding our own way.|But it was made up on departing by Jayson who looked after our taxi booking to Sentosa efficiently and fuss free.||I would recommend this hotel for families.|I
