JEN Singapore Tanglin by Shangri-La

Booked a Club Room to celebrate a special milestone for my partner and me. Upon arrival, the hotel lobby was bustling with guests checking in and out. Despite the crowd, we were promptly attended to by Suzy, who was very patient in walking us through the various benefits and entitlements that come with a Club Room booking. She was also very helpful and accommodating with the special requests we had made prior to our stay.||While Suzy was preparing our check-in, Yuan noticed that we had driven to the hotel and quickly issued us a complimentary parking coupon. Such attention to detail from both Suzy and Yuan truly set the right tone from the beginning—excellent service delivery!||The room was clean and of a decent size. A minor drawback was that the TV did not support Chromecast, though it did allow screen sharing and HDMI input.||Afternoon tea (2–4 pm) included a simple but satisfying selection: garden salad, assorted Nyonya kuehs, and fresh-cut fruits. The tea and coffee options were also quite good.||Evening cocktails (6–8 pm) were a pleasant surprise with an impressive spread: steamed crystal prawn dumplings, fried prawn rolls, chicken tikka with nasi briyani, fried spring rolls, cream of mushroom soup, cold pasta salad with truffle oil, and cheese platters. Some items from afternoon tea were also served. While no cocktails were available during our stay, the beverage selection included beer, red and white wines, and some spirits. Service at the Club Lounge was exceptional—staff were prompt and attentive, creating a relaxing atmosphere with great views.||Breakfast was served at J65 restaurant between 6:30 am and 10:30 am. It was quite crowded, but the food selection was decent, and we appreciated the freshly squeezed juices. There’s also a live noodle and egg station located outside the restaurant, where the chefs were both friendly and polite.||Overall, we had a wonderful stay and felt that the top-up for the Club Room was well worth it. Kudos to the team for making our experience a memorable one. We’ll definitely be back!

Check in was done by a very sweet lady. I dont recall her name but she gave very exceptional service. Even breakfast was superb. Ben from breakfast found out it was my daughter's birthday and prepared a cake for us. It was very sweet. He was very patient in showing us every station. The spread of choice was not very compelling but the service from check in to check out have been very satisfying. A side note i think its time to change the hotel pillows as they are very thin even using 2 was not comfortable. Had to request for additional but only able to receive 1 extra. But overall it was a very satisfying and happy stay even if it was just for a night.

I’m an international business traveler - stayed here several times before. I really satisfied with overall experience throughout previous stays and this time as well. However, just one front manager named Michael, seems to be very inappropriate not just towards me but to other customers as well. I do hope hotel will reeducate him well to meet the minimal standards that are attained by other wonderful staffs.

everything was great except that there was a box of leftover in the fridge since we checked in and it was still there during our whole stay. the room was not very noise proof. we could hear people talk aloud in the corridor and unfortunately some of them kept doing that til very late. the drainage of the sink was very slow and it was fixed immediately after i reported to the front desk.

We were greeted with warm smiles from the minute we arrived at Jen Singapore Tanglin and the front desk personnel were so kind and generously upgraded our hotel room to a higher floor with a city view. We appreciate such gestures. The room was clean and cosy, even though there was an odd scent in the corridor that didn't bother us. For added hygiene, the toilet seat includes a little bidet beside it. The room beds are comfortable rather than hard the ones. It is located directly across from Orchard Boulevard Mrt (Brown line). Also, we can go straight to Tanglin Mall at level 2 from the hotel for a quick lunch or dinner. Tanglin Mall also includes a grocery store (CS Fresh). It's quite a walk to Orchard Road. It takes us roughly 10-20 minutes (depending on your speed) to walk to Orchard Road or the ION Mall area. If you don't mind walking, you can explore the restaurants and cafes in the around area. What actually defines this hotel, however, is its service. Every employee we encountered, from housekeeping to concierge, was genuinely friendly, helpful, and attentive. We wouldn't mind returning here again 😊

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It does not live up to the price point. The minibar is completely empty, and there’s no option to purchase water or any drinks when you come back late from exploring the city. The nearest convenience store is a 7-Eleven, but after a full day of walking, no one wants to go out again just to grab water. The hotel has a somewhat “cheap” feel to it — there are promotional signs everywhere, which takes away from any sense of calm or aesthetic. It doesn’t feel relaxing or thoughtfully designed. The service also left a lot to be desired, unfortunately. In a city like Singapore, where there are so many fantastic hotel options, I believe it’s worth spending a little more. The difference in service, amenities, and overall experience at other hotels is genuinely significant.

Had an amazing buffet dinner here! The variety was impressive—everything from fresh salads and hot entrees to delicious desserts. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned, and the dishes were constantly being refilled, so nothing sat out too long. The staff was attentive and kept the place clean and welcoming. Really good value for the price, and a perfect spot if you're going with a group or just want to try a little bit of everything. Will definitely be back!

We had our wedding banquet here and the experience was truly amazing thanks to Xinyi, Phoebe & Hazim! Our wedding planning process was not a smooth one as we had two major hiccups which were swiftly resolved by Xinyi & Phoebe! First, we had to change our wedding date due to family circumstances. Phoebe, who was covering for Xinyi, responded quickly and found alternative dates for us. She was very understanding and even replied us at late hours & while on leave, which we really appreciated. Second, just days before the wedding, there was an issue with our original ballroom. Xinyi handled it right away and moved us to a different ballroom, which actually turned out to be even better! Both Xinyi and Phoebe were incredibly patient despite all our requests and changes, going above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly, even throwing in free upgrades and meals to make our stay extra special. On the actual day, Hizam managed the banquet like a pro. He even opened the bar early when guests arrived ahead of time, which was a thoughtful touch. The food was amazing—generous portions, great pacing, and full of compliments from our guests. Everyone left absolutely stuffed and happy! We thoroughly enjoyed our wedding and stay here. Huge thanks to the team for making our big day so memorable. Highly recommended!!!
