"Of Looms, Laurel, and Affordable Luxury Intricate textiles woven on looms handed down through generations. An array of laurel, olive, and lavender bath products and the hammered bowls to hold them. Silk shawls with which to drape the color of the Aegean in a graceful arc below bare shoulders. All organic and produced locally, with the specific intent of preserving a dying art. Jennifer’s Hamam works with traditional Turkish weavers to produce luxuriously looped Turkish towels, flat-woven pestamels (the towels and wraps used in hamams, similar to a sarong), and fine silks woven from hand-spun thread. Looms are passed from one generation to the next. New designs evolve over time. Part entrepreneur and part preservationist, Jennifer and her staff are generous with their knowledge and delight in sharing their affordable luxuries. Wander, shop, and emerge enlightened. Accessibility: A wheeled walker can easily maneuver the main path of the Arasta Bazaar. By Mary Ramos"

Jennifer's Hamam is a very professional business and I loved the kind and friendliness of everyone at the shops. Emir was very respectful and knowledgeable and tailored our experience. A+ and 10/10. I would certainly go back and buy from this store again and would also look into buying online.

We had absolutely the most amazing experience at Jennifer’s Hammam. After searching for Turkish towels, we came across a review on another site and decided to go to the store. On arriving the new location was under construction and we actually ran into Jennifer herself. She personally walked us over to the warehouse close by, she and her staff treated us to Turkish tea and educated us on all things, Turkish towels, cotton, the old looming ways, etc. we purchased several items as both souvenirs and for use in our MedSpa in Central Florida. We also had to have a little collection for our home. If you’re looking for an authentic experience and very high-quality Turkish cotton linens, please go see Jennifer and her team.

Google
Absolutely top quality towels. I visited in 2019 and purchased several towels. All these towels are still performing as well today as the first time I used them. The slight difference in price is well worth it when you consider the quality and the fact that they are highly sustainable. Don’t hesitate to purchase a household of these for your home, you will not regret it.

I travel a lot and sometimes find a product that I can't live without. We purchased luxurious towels at Jennifer's Hamam several years ago and fell in love with their high-quality products. On my recent return visit, going to Jennifer's Hamam was at the top of my shopping list. When you hear about the famous Turkish Towels, this is the real deal. Their products are organic, and beautifully produced on shuttle looms by artisans in a nearly lost industry. Not massed produced. These towels make me happy every time I use them. Don't miss this absolute gem of a shop. Wonderful staff and they can ship to your home country! I love them so much I bought more than could fit in my suitcase.

Google
I had a lovely experience at Jennifer's Hamam. The staff were incredibly friendly and took the time to explain the brand, the towels, and the different weaving techniques. What I appreciated most was that there was no pressure to buy—just genuine help. I was encouraged to take my time and even invited to take towels off the shelf to feel the quality for myself. I love what I bought.

Google
Had a wonderful experience here meeting Jennifer, Haji, and the rest of her team. This shop is phenomenal. I learned so much about Turkish weaving and Jennifer’s efforts to support handmade goods. Her mission was one I was thrilled to support and the products were phenomenal. The staff was wonderful, showing us around the different shop locations. I would strongly urge anyone visiting Istanbul to follow what I and all the other reviewers are saying and visit! You will walk away with a high quality, handmade, genuine Turkish good rather than the machine-made, touristic items that many other places sell. I highly recommend supporting this shop and buying these gorgeous goods!

Not only are Jennifer’s products beautiful and of the highest quality, the service is outstanding! We visited Jennifer’s on both our trips to Istanbul (ten years apart). The first time we went on the recommendation of a friend. However, the second time we were eager to go back because we wanted more, not because we needed to replace the towels we bought the first time. Those towels still look like they did the day we bought them. OK maybe not exactly that, but they’re still in excellent shape and have outlived many others, despite constant use. The selection of towels and other products is extensive with such a variety of designs that anyone can find something they like. The custom-made bathrobes are definitely worth considering (imagine if your favourite luxurious towel was actually a bathrobe). Jennifer contracts with local traditional weavers to make her products, so you can be assured that everything you get from her will be unique and will last a long time. What really sets Jennifer’s apart is the service. There are no high-pressure sales tactics, just friendly interaction with individuals who know their products and are truly interested in finding what you want. They ship all over the world, using fast and reliable courier services. On both occasions, our purchases arrived (first time in England, the next time in Canada) within days of our return home. What really impressed me was when we discovered a small hole in one of the towels. Jennifer responded to our email immediately and set out to resolve the issue. After some back and forth to ensure that we were getting the correct one, we received a replacement towel within days. I would highly recommend Jennifer’s Hamam for all your Turkish Towel needs!

Google
I stayed at a guest house in South Africa and experienced Jennifer's Hamam towels which resulted in my contacting the shop in Turkey and doing a video call to choose the towels I wanted for my home. It was a great experience with Haci showing me around the shop and explaining the different weaves. My towels were shipped to me in SA - they are fantastic. The textures, colours and hand-woven quality is unlike any towel I have been able to buy locally and even internationally. I highly recommend buying these towels! #jennifershamam

Yelp
We had a short stay in Istanbul and it occurred to me late that I should look for some great towels for my home. The morning before we left we were wandering and ran across a small linens store that didn't have much. They recommended Jennifer's Hamam nearby. When we entered we were greeted warmly by the young man working there. I found some towels I loved but was told there were only two in stock, and would we like to visit the warehouse just a few minutes' walk from there. We did, and I found the most gorgeous, luxe, thick-looped cotton towels, and also found out they could make custom robes. With less than 15 minutes to spend before we needed to catch our ride to the airport, they measured me for a robe and took my information to ship it all (this was a Monday, and I was told they would ship it on Wednesday). On Thursday I received notice from UPS that my package from them was scheduled for the _next day_! Everything arrived in great condition with easy instructions to follow to care for my beautiful new products, and I'm excited to use them for many years to come. A few things to note: All items are Turkish in origin, from the thread to the hand-loom manufacturing I loved that these purchases supported actual families of weavers They don't bargain; prices are fixed (and fair) I highly recommend Jennifer's Hamam if you are in the market for linens. If you are visiting in person, make sure to look for the Canadian flag in the top of the display window to ensure that you are in Jennifer's Hamam and not one of the copy-cat shops selling non-organic, machine made items.

Yelp
Expansive selection of towels of all sizes, robes, etc in a number of patterns. Very friendly service to peruse and shop in an unrushed way. High quality and make wonderful gifts.

Yelp
Tihs is the place. Go here early on your Istanbul shopping as you will learn a lot about what to look for in good Turkish linens, silks, cottons. Jennnifer also gave us great tips on some other items we were looking for including where to find it, what questions to ask and so forth. She was not on site but helped us via a phone call from her shop. Service, Quality, Selection! Honest, kind knowledgeable staff. Fair prices - true value. Look for the sweet, smaller Arasta Bazaar (marked by a Canadian flag at the top of the display window) and they can then take you to their larger showroom just a three minute walk away. Haci helped us at the Arasta store and then I went to the larger warehouse before making my decison as they had even more. All the textiles are made in Turkey by Turkish weavers with Turkish materials; They are made on old-style shuttled looms, with silk, linen and GOTS certified cotton. Why care about this? 1. Keep the tradition alive and help the artisans continue their trade. 2. Organic means better conditions for the workers, bees survive (a whole species has died out due to pesticides on cotton..but not hers!), healthier for the planet and ultimately us! Her Bursa silk is exquisite. How were some of her people impacted by the big earthquake...they can tell you. Support this caring entrepreneur, support the artists and enjoy something very special A shout out on the children's bathrobes - fabulous quality, soft, colors etc....and i love my bursa silk scarf, the hand towels and the larger pink grey one....Thank you! Now I will have a bit of Turkey close to my heart (literally)

Yelp
Ordered towels direct from Jennifer Hamam, very easy process and the only towels we use, purchasing them as gifts now Very plush, no smell after numerous washing and holds up for years, looks as good as the first day we got them Highly recommend

Yelp
A cute little boutique store specializing in linens in the Arasta Bazaar. The employees are friendly & helpful with suggestions. The quality of the cotton towels, scarves & blankets are amazing! The prices are unbeatable - so worth the visit!

Yelp
I had the pleasure of visiting Jennifer's hamam when I was İstanbul in September 2023. I purchased a beautiful large towel and a couple of hand towels . After a few months I realized I wanted one more. There is nothing like these towels ! handmade and beautiful designs , they also feel so luxurious ! I had the pleasure to reconnect with them online and purchase another ! my experience was wonderful reconnecting with Haci and having a brief moment to feel I was back in their shop! only thing missing was a cup çay! they may be pricier then your average towel but they are by no means an average towel ! handmade ,beautifully designed and made to last and wear softly for years ! if you have a chance don't miss this special store when you are in Istanbul! çok çok güzel !

Yelp
I can't recommend Jennifer's Hamam highly enough! I went with friends during a trip to Istanbul and when I learned that I could select any pattern and type of towel available in the store and have them sewn into a custom robe, I couldn't pass it up. The friendly associate took my measurements down, grabbed three towels in the pattern and color I picked, and literally a week later a gorgeous robe arrived in the United States. It's so comfortable, fits me perfectly (just the right amount of oversized), and looks so cool. I love that it's organic and woven using traditional techniques. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Wanted to find a turkish towel that was made by hand (hand woven on old school loom). my search led me to jennifers hammam. it is in the old city. They have beautiful designs. the store folks are friendly. they offered me tea, coffee, water. there is no bargaining, every item has a set price and nobody is pushy. the quality and design of the towels speak for themselves. and they take credit cards! they also sell pashminas and bedsheets/duvet covers the day i was there but i came specifically for cotton towels. perhaps on another visit to Turkey i can buy some of their sheets! the staff are very professional. no hawkers here. set prices and you come to get a piece of artisan work. i love their papaya weave and lokum designs.

Yelp
I've purchased from Jennifer's both in-person and via mail order, and both times the results have exceeded my expectations. We bought pestamels, bath towels, and custom bathrobes from them in 2015, and using all of them on a regular basis; they're still as good as new, and in fact the bath towels continue to be the best towels I've ever used, both in terms of comfort and also because they're HUGE. We placed a mail order in October 2020, for many more towels to give to friends and family, and not only was the ordering experience great, the towels arrived as quickly as if we'd ordered them from Amazon--to the Western US! Overall, I can't speak highly enough about either the product or the service. I know the situation in Turkey these days is tumultuous, and I can only hope Jennifer's continues on indefinitely because of the good they do for the weavers and how much I love what they make.

Yelp
We visited Jennifer's back in 2014. Jennifer and her staff have so much passion showing us their products and stories we ended up purchasing some oversized linen bath towels. We reside in tropical humid environment and these towels stood to the test of time. We have always wanted to revisit Istanbul and purchase some more items but with covid and no travel in sight we ended up doing a virtual shopping tour. Her and her staff were just as friendly as we remembered and were really helpful with assisting us pick out some more towels and bathrobes. We love how her business supports these last families of weavers. Can't wait to visit Jennifer's again one day.

Yelp
What an amazing shop! I read about it before departing for Istanbul and I was so happy that I made the time to visit. They have a truly wonderful selection of towels, throws, bedding and more. All are hand loomed from organic Turkish cotton. Beautiful workmanship! High quality linens at amazing prices. Completed my Christmas shopping in one stop. I shipped approximately 12 pieces back to the US and they arrived within a couple of days following my return. This is a must visit when in Istanbul. Look for the Canadian flag.

Yelp
I live in Istanbul, as an expat and I have to say- I have rarely found as good of quality and customer service as I have with Jennifer's Hamam. The shop had become the de-facto go-to for beautiful Mother's Day presents, Christmas presents and my own homeware. They have personally hand- delivered items to my house, and when they ship in Istanbul it takes about one day (next day) to get to my house. To send things home to my family, shipping is only about 5-7 days max so I always know it will reach my destination in time. I have ordered linen towels (the best, in my opinion), looped cotton towels, pestamels, bath robes, and plan to bed my bed linens soon. Everything will last you a generation at least, a lifetime at most. So worth the purchase. http://jennifershamam.com/

Yelp
These are truly the best towels EVER. In 2014, I bought three large bath towels (as well as several pestamels) and followed their recommendations for allowing the cotton to "bloom." They still look and feel brand new, six years later. I bought additional towels to have a winter and summer collection of colours. Just bought some more this past week as a gift. I would not shop anywhere else for towels.

Yelp
A friend of mine was visiting Turkey last month and hooked me up to Jennifer and Haci. Ordering from Boise, Idaho was super easy and Haci literally walked me through the large store via FaceTime. Having the opportunity to purchase organic hand woven towels and robes from the Jennifer's Hamam was a stroke of luck. I received my package 3 days later! All great communication on their part via FaceTime, email, WhatsApp was a huge plus and all great info on purchasing info, photos of what was in the package, how to care for the items, where the items came from and more information. I would recommend Haci and Jennifer's store to anyone. All my items were of great quality and knowing that they were authentic made my purchase even easier! Hand woven organic may cost a little more, but it's totally worth knowing I supported mom and pop weavers and not a factory. Love it!

Yelp
I actually found Jennifer's Hamam while Googling for places to buy a Turkish robe when we were in Istanbul last year. Though the name is a bit anachronistic in a city of Turkish language (Jennifer is Canadian), the reviews sold me, and we walked to the Arasta Bazaar to find it. Though there are other hamams on the street, none felt quite right (and Jennifer later told me that you can spot the right place because of the Canadian flag in the window). We walked a little further until we actually found Jennifer's Hamam. I am not kidding when I say we spent a full 90 minutes, just the two of us and the shop associate, talking about weaving, learning about the process, and looking at the gorgeous fabrics. It was SO educational, delightful, and rewarding. The shop associate (a year later, I've forgotten his name!) was endlessly patient and more than happy to pull our pestemals (Turkish towels), scarves, bedspreads...we walked away with a pestemal each, a silk scarf for my mother, the bathrobe I wanted, and a beautiful woven bedspread--all woven by hand, by traditional weavers. This was one of the most wonderful and memorable experiences we had through our entire trip! The shop associate told us that there is lower pricing if you go to the shop in person (no hawking or haggling whatsoever, which was a refreshing break!) so even though we walked away with quite a lot, we wish we had bought more! A year later, we are still loving everything we bought at Jennifer's, and I recently had them make cushion covers for my couch. We did the entire thing over email, and it was easy, painless, EXTREMELY fast, and surprisingly inexpensive. I'm so happy to know about this very special store, and to have them as a place I can reach out to for beautiful fabrics. I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said that we had considered another trip to Istanbul JUST to go back to Jennifer's Hamam.

Yelp
As a disclaimer, I don't receive any kind of kick back or compensation for this review. This is my go to towel place. As a foreigner its always nice to have your "go to's." A spice guy, a towel guy, a rug guy. I can happily say, and hopefully my guests and family and friends can say the same, that I have all three. Luckily again for me, they are my spice lady, my rug lady, and now my towel lady. Where to start with Jennifer's hamam. I have been here by myself and with guests about a dozen times now. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and passionate. Jennifer herself never seems to leave the store and is proud and friendly. It is always a good sign when the owner of the store is by your side to help guide you through the buying process. Jennifer's can get packed, so be sure to ask where there showroom is, located 3 blocks away, and they will walk you there. The English level by most employees is high here, so that is a comfort as well. Now to the good stuff. The towels, blankets and scarves. My aunt, who is a impulsive shopper, came to visit a couple of months ago. She insisted that she has enough towels, but like family, I insisted we go anyway so she could have the "experience." I put this in quotes because a day of shopping at Jennifer's is like going through a textile tour of Turkey, in one sitting., Needless to say my aunt went crazy, buying full sets of towels to immediately replace the ones she has. From an array of different designs, thickness and prices, Jennifer's offers fully organic hand woven products. Their linen is to die for (look for their towels, robes, and blankets on the third floor!) Having a tailor on site, makes it easy to offer custom made robes, at a decent price! Did I mention that they ship worldwide? They ship worldwide. To be frank, I adore this place. The people, the product, everything about it. I can't say enough about the quality of their product, and I continue to bring or tell anyone I know to go and to experience it for themselves! if there was a 6 star option, I would click it. Help me out here YELP!

Yelp
Outstanding quality of towels, particularly. Visiting Jennifer's Hamam when we were in Istanbul led us to buy multiple sets of towels and blankets. Their service, including excellent English speaking, was exceptional. Upon returning home, we have since ordered a large number of additional towels which were shipped to our home. These we have shared with others as exceptional gifts, appreciated every day. I speak about their towels, without exception, as the best in the world and I delight in suggesting our friends visit the shop in Istanbul when they are there. Steve J.

Yelp
Just wanted to provide an update since I've been home for 2 weeks and have tried out the wares. The towels are ok, although more attractive for display than functional. However, I'm not at all impressed with the bed coverlet I purchased. It was a significant sum of money, and it's already snagging. We don't have pets or kids so I can't imagine how it would last on a bed that had those rolling around on it. There are already a handful of snags after less than 14 nights on the bed so not excited about what it will look like after 2 months. Expected a lot more and will reach out to them to see what can be done.

Yelp
I was alone in Istanbul & was a bit overwhelmed by the culture of hassling buyers and all the options - so many options. Everything started to look the same after a while. I appreciated that no one at this store called me lady or angel or hissed/sucked at me, & the prices are actually the prices. I also really liked the quality of the towels, although they're basically three to four times the price of other similar items. Im posting a photo comparison I took in my hotel of a seemingly similar throw I bought at the Grand Bazaar and a towel I bought at Jennifer's Hamam. The difference was obvious to me & made me feel better about buying the more expensive towels. Hopefully this will help other buyers make a decision!

Yelp
Amazing and friendly staff! We went to the regular showroom in the shopping area but after we told them we wanted to purchase a full set they took us to the 4 story shop a few blocks away. Each story had a different product: cotton woven towels, linen bath towels (higher quality), silk scarfs, and the blankets and bath robes. They also make high quality soaps. Everything is hand woven or hand made and of the highest quality! They tell you how to properly care for the products and give you a bag to put the products in so you can safely check them in your luggage on your way home.

Yelp
After a visit to the Turkish baths, I decided I needed a pestamel (midweight, towel-like wrap used to cover oneself at the bath) for myself. I visited Jennifer's Hamam in the Arasta Bazaar. I was immediately taken with their vision of maintaining traditional weaving methods and organic cottons. After seeing so much mass produced stuff in our visit to the Grand Bazaar it was wonderful to see such craftsmanship. Yes, the cost does reflect the quality of the materials and work, but my pestamel is holding up beautifully. Upon entering the store, the very helpful salesman explained to us the different options in pestamels, explained how they softened with use (we could compare the new pestamels to ones that had been washed a few times), and was generally patient as we pulled down various colors of pestamels and robes until we found what we liked. I took my pestamel back home and have used it as intended, but also as a picnic blanket, tablecloth, and a wrap. So useful! Upon arriving home, I regretted not purchasing towels too, so I contacted Jennifer, who quickly put me in touch with a US distributor. What service! So, when in Turkey, stop into Jennifer's Hamam for lovely textiles and bath products. Find ways to make room in your luggage so you can take all her high quality goods home with you.

Yelp
Jennifer's Hamam is owned by an ex pat Canadian but she is actually making the most beautiful, authentic organic Turkish cotton goods. We bought some lovely towels and I wish I had bought a blanket that I keep thinking about but at the time it seemed expensive--maybe next time. She has 3 stores in a small bazaar behind the blue mosque--definitely worth a visit if you are into authenticity and quality.

Yelp
Love, love, loved our experience here! We had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer on our first visit, but her whole team is very friendly and helpful. I wanted to bring home a robe from our trip to Turkey, and ended up with not only a beautiful robe, but also gorgeous flax bath towels and scarves for every member of the family. The owner may be Canadian, but all of the fibers are from Turkey, and woven on traditional looms by Turkish artisans. We were very happy to support both organic cotton farmers and the artisans who create these beautiful textiles, which is what sets Jennifer's wares apart from other vendors selling similar looking items, most of which are machine made. Well worth a trip to the Arasta Bazaar, located behind the Blue Mosque! Look for the Canadian flag in the shop windows - there are 3 locations in the bazaar.

Justin S.

Yelp
I walked into Jennifer's Hamam simply because a fabric in the window caught my eye, and I walked out almost three hours later having finished my trip's gift list (including for myself many times over), and having a newfound appreciation for the ancient and modern history of Turkish textiles. Every towel, scarf and blanket I ended up buying (at shockingly reasonable prices) feels not just beautiful, but cultural, and I retell the stories these items have to tell every time I give one to a friend or family member. Truthfully, I lucked into the store, without having read any of the glowing reviews or researched any textile shops. I am not a shopper at all. But even had I come in with high expectations, my time at Jennifer's would have remained one of the highlights of my trip to Istanbul.

Rug F.

Yelp
My husband and I made a VERY large purchase from this store based on the recommendations of the sales clerk. We were told of the high quality, high absorbency of all the items we purchased and were sadly disappointed once we washed (per shop instructions) a few of the several items we purchased and tried them out. What was most disappointing is trying to work with Jennifer's Hamam once we notified them of our disappointment. We were told to go back to Istanbul from the states and they would exchange the items. Rather than going back to Istanbul for this transaction, we sent a very expensive package back with only the items that we did not wash, use or alter in any way, to them and notified them of our intensions. The items we sent back were in new condition and could have been placed back on the sales floor with no financial loss to them. Jennifer's Hamam is owned by a Canadian woman who should be familiar with the expectations of US customers. They refused the package and it was returned back to us. Because of their dishonorable business practices, we were not able to even work with our credit card company as Jennifer's Hamam said that they "never received" the package. I can not recommend anyone but locals doing business this company as they appear to take advantage of sincere tourists and laugh all the way to their bank once we have believed their "expert" and high praise of their own products. We were not trying to get something for nothing and lost even more money on shipping unusable items back to them.

Ann B.

Yelp
After reading about this business online, we decided to drop by when we were in the bazaar next to the Blue Mosque. It is clear that this shop is run by a Canadian, because there is nobody standing outside trying to draw you in, and you can look at the wares without feeling pressure, even though at the time that we visited the owner was away on holiday. That made it a bit more comfortable and familiar, which was a bit relaxing after several days of fending off people trying to sell things. The first time we visited I bought some soap. Later, when I decided that I wanted some towels to use at home (not peştamal), we returned, and I was shown a wide selection of hand-loomed organic cotton towels. I bought three, and more of the soap I liked, and was given the towels in cotton bags with some care instructions. I gave two of the towels as gifts and kept one for myself. After soaking it in cold water for 24 hours and letting it drip-dry before washing it, it became even softer than it was in the shop. It's very absorbent and I'm quite happy with it. It wasn't cheap, but it was cheaper than purchasing a similar towel at home, and no different from the other shops I looked at in the area. If you plan to buy a towel, be sure you're not near your luggage weight limit, because it is a lot of towel!
google avatar

Joel S.

Yelp
The hand loomed towels from Jennifer's Hamam are works of art. They are marvelously soft and absorbent and they are beautiful and luxurious. There is nothing else like them. They are as much textile art as utilitarian object. A must see.

Debbie I.

Yelp
My son and I recently traveled to Istanbul and we were shocked at how many of the 'local' products-- scarves, towels, rugs, hats and more-- are actually made in India or China! Then we happened upon Jennifer's Hamam, a unique establishment with three shops in the Arasta Bazaar. It's the only place where you can buy handmade Turkish towels and scarves made of silk, linen and cotton. The fact that the cotton is GOTS certified organic is a plus, but more important to me, is the fact that Jennifer, the Canadian proprietor, supports 20+ families living in Southern Turkey, who are keeping the dying art of weaving alive. To my way of thinking it's micro-finance in action. Buy these truly beautiful items and support quality workmanship and truly local businesses. Jennifer's shop is very modern, clean and beautiful looking-- with almost a Benneton feeling, and her success has spawned other look-alike stores. I stopped in to check out their goods as well. They are a bit cheaper than hers in price and slightly lesser in quality to my uneducated eye, but the towels and scarves are made in small factories in Turkey. So you lose the feel good factor you get when buying from Jennifer's Hamam, knowing you're supporting families and generations of their craft. The way you know you're in one of her stores is by seeing the large Canadian flag in the window. Like other people, I tried to bargain-- after all I bought 6 items (and went back to buy a dozen more!)-- but their policy is firm and frankly, sometimes it's a relief to know the price is the price-- accept it or not. Finally, we so loved the way one of her employees, Hayyan, tied the scarf that I later asked her to send me a video so I could repeat the magic and share it with everyone I had given gifts to. In a word, my only regret is that I didn't buy more. So if you're going and want to pick up a few for me.... ;-)

Yelp
I recently placed my third order for linens. I found the store years ago on a trip to Istanbul and three or so years ago, decided I needed some new linens for my new house. Recently I decided to get myself a second set and then add for my grown sons as they move out. I have given the smaller towels as gifts and use one as my gym towel. The quality is amazing. The towels from years ago look just as great as the new ones. You will be using these towels for a long time. Besides being high quality, they actually dry you! The ordering process was so supportive, as I asked for certain colors and was given options. I paid securely through whats ap and everything arrived as promised. So you are getting high quality AND you are supporting small local people, not some big corporation. Your towels are unique, not mass produced in some factory. I will be back again (PS. They offer other linen products besides towels. I have given the wash rags as gifts with a nice bar of soap.)

Yelp
I was here a few months ago with my husband. He purchased a comfortable bathrobe. Unfortunately, after a few wears a bunch of the strings of fabric starting coming undone on the robe. Given the cost, this was disappointing. The shop has nice stuff. However, the prices seem pretty high. The other challenge that I found is that there were no prices marked in the store. The prices are fixed but there are no prices written down. I probably would have purchased more if the prices were marked.

Yelp
Fixed prices on high quality, hand loomed towels, pashminas, woven by artisanal weavers on hand looms using high quality organic cotton. Patterns and colours are fantastic. Will last for years. Our favorite store after a two week trip through Turkey. You just get the feeling there is no baloney and she runs a trustworthy operation. 3 locations in Arasta Bazaar, old city near 4 seasons. I enjoyed that location too because Grand Bazaar was just too hectic.

Yelp
I cannot express how much I loved this place! It was such a delightful experience. The salespeople were incredibly patient and pleasant but never pushy. They let me browse for hours and were very patient with my unnatural enthusiasm. I liked how they explained the store's methods and connection with Turkish artistry. I have now had the towels and robes I purchased at Jennifer's Hamam for two years now, and they are in as good of shape when I purchased them as now. They hold up incredibly well. My favorite thing is how quickly they dry. I use one towel at the beach, and I'm always grateful for how quickly it dries and how lightweight it is compared to other towels. I cannot speak highly enough of the product or of the experience. I would never consider a trip to Istanbul complete without visiting this amazing shop. I recommend it to everyone!!!

Yelp
There are a couple locations of Jennifer's Hamam. I was so lucky I was staying near the Arasta Bazaar that on my last day in Istanbul I ran here early in the morning to pick out pestamels before my flight departed. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to browse. It's so hard to pick from all the beautiful colors and grades of towels, some much more expensive than others depending on the weave. They are all made in artisan weaving villages in Turkey of fine quality organic cotton. They don't bargain here - it's not that type of place so don't bother. I picked out a purple and blue one for my husband and I. They were expensive but they are incredibly absorbent and have been my favorite towels of all the ones we own to date. I also picked out 2 keses which they use in the Turkish baths. It's a hand mitt to remove dead skin. There is nothing for gratifying than seeing all that dead skin scrubbed off when you're in the shower! Buy your pestamels & keses here. They were incredibly patient with me, laying out all the towels in the colors that I pointed to that intrigued me. There was no pressure to buy.

Yelp
my friend and i were visiting istanbul when we came across jennifer's shop near the blue mosque. everything seemed very well made, and the staff was very friendly and informative. both of us bought several items, and were so happy with them that we wanted to order more once we got back home. i reached out to jennifer to ask about more of their products and if they shipped worldwide (they do!). she was very helpful and included pictures and prices of everything i inquired about, in a variety of colors. my only complaint is that the items were much more expensive outside of turkey, so i couldn't buy as much as i wanted. i understand why, of course, still just a bummer!

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience purchasing beautiful towels from Jennifer's Hamam in the Arasta Bazaar in Istanbul. The sales personnel at the store were extremely friendly and helpful, explaining the differences between the various types of towels. They also were very patient, since we had a difficult time deciding among the myriad towel options and colors. We purchased some of the towels as presents, and they were beautifully wrapped. We've been home now for several months and are enjoying using our bath towels. They are very absorbent, wash well, and still look new. The towels are made on old style shuttle looms, only using Turkish materials and Turkish workmanship, which makes them unique in Turkey. We noticed a few other stores in the Arasta Bazaar imitating the look of Jennifer's Hamam showrooms, but these stores' products are machine made and non-organic. Just wish we had purchased more of these beautiful towels when we were in Istanbul and definitely will return to Jennifer's Hamam if we are again in Istanbul.
