"Of Looms, Laurel, and Affordable Luxury Intricate textiles woven on looms handed down through generations. An array of laurel, olive, and lavender bath products and the hammered bowls to hold them. Silk shawls with which to drape the color of the Aegean in a graceful arc below bare shoulders. All organic and produced locally, with the specific intent of preserving a dying art. Jennifer’s Hamam works with traditional Turkish weavers to produce luxuriously looped Turkish towels, flat-woven pestamels (the towels and wraps used in hamams, similar to a sarong), and fine silks woven from hand-spun thread. Looms are passed from one generation to the next. New designs evolve over time. Part entrepreneur and part preservationist, Jennifer and her staff are generous with their knowledge and delight in sharing their affordable luxuries. Wander, shop, and emerge enlightened. Accessibility: A wheeled walker can easily maneuver the main path of the Arasta Bazaar. By Mary Ramos"

As a Canadian I heard of this shop from coworkers and I was not disappointed! The staff were great at showing all the different weave patterns and color styles, not once was I pushed into buying anything. I was made to feel very comfortable in this shop! I purchased 2 robes and they are lovely and the quality is far superior to big box stores! They even hooked me up with travel bags to get my items on the plane! I will return to this shop again!!!

Super friendly staff speaking absolutely perfect English almost indistinguishable from native speakers. I was surprised to learn that the shop owner is also from Canada -- the staff were super knowledgeable about everything related to the products and were super patient explaining everything to us tourists. We never felt pressured into buying anything and we felt super comfortable making sure we made the best choices of their products and fulfillment services so we could leave with no regrets. I personally had to get the product shipped to my address in Canada -- the product was dropped off at a local UPS the very next day and it safely passed through Canadian customs with extremely low customs fees and arrived at my house -- all within four working days. (I will post a picture to follow up as soon as I'm back in Canada) Note: you need to look for the Canadian flag in the top of the display window to ensure that you are in Jennifer’s Hamam and not one of the copy-cat shops selling non-organic, machine made items. I have also been asked to remind people to respect their asking prices as they do not bargain. Absolutely would recommend anyone visiting Istanbul to drop by and just have a little chat with the staff while you're around the area where the famous mosques are.

We had a short stay in Istanbul and it occurred to me late that I should look for some great towels for my home. The morning before we left we were wandering and ran across a small linens store that didn't have much. They recommended Jennifer's Hamam nearby. When we entered we were greeted warmly by the young man working there. I found some towels I loved but was told there were only two in stock, and would we like to visit the warehouse just a few minutes' walk from there. We did, and I found the most gorgeous, luxe, thick-looped cotton towels, and also found out they could make custom robes. With less than 15 minutes to spend before we needed to catch our ride to the airport, they measured me for a robe and took my information to ship it all (this was a Monday, and I was told they would ship it on Wednesday). On Thursday I received notice from UPS that my package from them was scheduled for the _next day_! Everything arrived in great condition with easy instructions to follow to care for my beautiful new products, and I'm excited to use them for many years to come. A few things to note: All items are Turkish in origin, from the thread to the hand-loom manufacturing I loved that these purchases supported actual families of weavers They don't bargain; prices are fixed (and fair) I highly recommend Jennifer's Hamam if you are in the market for linens. If you are visiting in person, make sure to look for the Canadian flag in the top of the display window to ensure that you are in Jennifer’s Hamam and not one of the copy-cat shops selling non-organic, machine made items

I visited both shops in Istanbul the same day, because I was overwhelmed by the variety of many different colors and beautiful, unique designs available. I purchased quite a few pieces as these were the perfect present for my family members and of course myself. I've been using the towels extensively since then, and I'm completely satisfied with the quality. To be honest I've never experienced anything similar to the touch and feel of these marvellous towels. A few months after my Istanbul visit I ordered several pieces online with the help of Jennifer and Haci. Both the in person and the online shopping were memorable experiences. When visiting Istanbul, Jennifer's Hamam is a not to be missed experience for anyone appreciating beautiful handcrafted products.

We visited Jennifer's Hamam in August 2024 and after visiting the store (be sure to look for the Canadian flag on the top of the display window -- other stores are inauthentic copy-cats!) we were escorted to the larger showroom nearby, with three floors of beautiful, varied products made of organic cotton, linen, and silk. The experience is like being in a museum, with a friendly personal guide to help you choose. All items are made by hand by Turkish weavers using old-style shuttled looms--the last, and only, products made this way in the world. We had purchased some bath towels from Jennifer's Hamam about a decade ago and they are still in great shape, but we wanted more, in some new colors, and bought two on our recent visit -- as well as two bathrobes. As soon as we returned home to the United States, we realized we should have bought more towels and ordered another set. The online experience was simple and trouble-free, and we received our additional towels within a few days of ordering! We didn't need a virtual tour, but if you've never been to the showroom that is easily arranged. Jennifer's Hamam does not bargain, but their products are extremely well-priced.

keep an eye out for the canadian flag so you know you're in the right spot to ironically purchase beautifully handmade woven products from the artisans of turkey. the quality is higher and the designs are more unique than what you'll find elsewhere in the city. these are made on shuttle looms and not the mass produced products you find elsewhere in all the same designs and colors. made in the historic tradition but with modern (or traditional) designs. prices are set and fair. bring extra luggage or have them ship home (shipping to the US was way more reasonable than i expected, but i had brought extra suitcase), just don't leave anything behind. you'll dream about it an regret it. i came for towels and left the larger showroom (ask if you don't find what you're looking for in the storefront) with a set of bath and hand towels as planned, but took home a robe i love (wasn't even a robe person), a gorgeous but simple gauze-like woven silk scarf, and a beautiful blanket.

Bought two beautiful thick looped towels and a bath mat from here and we love them! The weavers are so talented and I’m so grateful for their beautiful work! The towels are incredibly plush, very well made and feel and look great! I ordered the smallest size bath towels they have and they’re still way bigger than regular towels you find at home goods stores. Perfect for wrapping up in after a shower or swim. The colors and tassels add to your bathroom like decor you want to display instead of hide behind your bathroom door. I just got them a couple weeks ago but my parents have had theirs since I was little so I know they’re great quality and will last a long time. So happy with my purchase!! We live in the states and was able to order these towels by means of the virtual tours they offer on their website. This is basically video calling with a person in the store in Turkey. They take you to each floor showing you the products and stopping to show any you ask to see up close. It was a great experience!! Like being there and having great customer service at your side. I highly recommend their virtual tours and their amazing products!

I don’t even have the write words to explain what an amazing shopping experience this is. My mom, sister and I went based on the amazing reviews and were not disappointed. We first went to their small shop in the bazaar and were then lead over to their three floor showroom about a 3-4 min walk away. We had the pleasure of working with Cemal and another young man. They went over every piece of detail about the sourcing and quality of the towels, which is fantastic given the artistry that goes into them. They can also custom make robes within 24 hours from almost any of the towel design/fabric you see on display. We were there for a few hours and purchased a ton of towels and five custom robes. All delivered to our hotel the next evening for only $13USD. If you’re looking for yourself or for any type of gift from Istanbul, look no further. I have several friends all coming on vacation in the next few months and I will recommend this shop to all of them. They also give instructions on how to care for the different types of towels. All around fantastic experience, better than any high end shopping I’ve received back home in NYC
