Jepson Center & Telfair Children's Art Museum (CAM)

A neat place, to be sure! I took my 7-yr-old here on a rainy day. He enjoyed the children's museum while I marveled at the Glenn Close installment. Only grievance (and it's not much of one) is that the tickets are priced with the idea that you could visit the museum for a week, though we were only in Savannah for a day.

Lovely art museum! For $30 you get access to three locations, two right next to one another. They currently have a great mix of photography (contemporary and some presentations of older American works), sculpture, painting / printing, and a cool exhibit of performance costumes from famous movies. Well worth a visit.

This place was so interactive and fun. The art was engaging and informative. There was so much we could touch and interact with. The immersion impressionist floral garden downstairs is so fun. They also do movies in their theatre during the days. Fern Gully was playing when we were there. If you visit be ready to play and have fun. They also have food but it's not very kid friendly unless your kids like pb&j or grilled cheese. It's also expensive but you get entry to 3 places.

The Jepson Center & Telfair Children's Art Museum was the perfect outing for my 4 year old grandson. The rooms were bright and cheerful. There were so many hands-on experiences. From the large geometric shapes and the interactive wall to the spinning tops and reading room, he was engaged for the entire visit. If you have young children this is an excellent place to take them.

Jepson Center & Telfair Children's Art Museum is a beautiful modern building in the heart of the historic district of downtown Savannah. It houses a vast collection of paintings, photographs, and installations that we enjoyed exploring during our visit to the city. We highly recommend this museum to art and history enthusiasts who appreciate beautiful architecture. It's worth checking out while you are in Savannah.

Modern art museum with local art as well as high quality traveling exhibits. Currently there is an extensive Norman Rockwell exhibit. Nice restrooms. Small bistro with good relaxing seating.

Interesting, upscale museum with several things to see and do. When we purchased this ticket, it also included the museum just next-door as well as a tour of the Owens Thomas House. Figure on 3-4 hours (more if you spend time reading). Well worth the ticket price. A few interactive exhibits as well.

A $30 ticket gets you into three museums - the Owens-Thomas House and Slave Quarters, the Telfair Academy, and the Jepson Center. The other two museums are great and worth the price of admission, but I was let down by the Jepson Center. The building is huge but sparse. What appeared to be the largest exhibit in the museum was closed when I visited, so there were only a few small galleries of contemporary art and photography to visit. The art was nice to look at, but there's not much of it. There is a children's museum, but it looked a little lackluster as well. I would recommend swinging through the museum to get your money's worth on the $30 combo ticket, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come to this museum. I spent less than an hour in the building.

Had a great time visiting. They had the costumes of Glenn close on display among other pictures and sculptures. It was $30 each adult and got you into 3 different locations. One being a tourist of a house of sorts.

Not the best museum i've been to in my travels, but the building is pretty cool and the museum pass gets you into a couple other building tours as well as the Telfair museum across the street (which in my opinion is way cooler with a lot of nice classical and historical art). Jepson is small despite being three stories, most of the art is on the 3rd floor. For the exhibits i saw, the curation was nothing special and the rooms were dimly lit. It took us about 20 minutes to walk around the whole place including visiting the gift shop. If you want to justify the $30 ticket make sure you use it on the other museums as well!

Highly recommend the family pass! If you live in the area and are just going for the day, spring for the year! Great way to get out of the summer heat and learn and explore!

This is part of a trio of museums/historical sites. There is the Telfair Academy, which is classical art. Jepson Center, which includes a children's section, and focuses on modern art, and then the Owen Thomas house, a historical home with "slave quarters." You can purchase entry to one for 30 dollars and it covers your entry for the other two. So three sites for 30 bucks? That's a steal. Jepson Center is the "modern art" version, mainly photography, abstract art, sculpture. There was an exhibit on the ottoman empire there, so not sure how that fit into modern art, but it had some cool pieces, including textiles. I didn't delve deep into the children's museum, but there was a community space and hands on space, so people with kids would probably enjoy this place. The museum is fairly small and doesn't take more than an hour, maybe two if you're going slow, to peruse. It has a really nice cafe with snacks, sandwiches, and drinks, including wine and beer. I gave it four because I can't rate everything based on NYC. And because again, you're getting entry as part of a trio deal. So how can you go wrong? Employees were super nice and welcoming.

Part of the 3-for packaged with the Telfair Academy (old art) & the Owens-Thomas house, this is the contemporary art museum. Nice modern building and "interesting" pieces as far as modern art goes. When we went, the highlight was what I'd call an immersive piece wherein a large space including the walls had a projection of "Monet/Van Gogh" type art. Much of the art were abstract pieces or photographs. You can spend an hour or 2 here depending on your interest. This museum does provide a nice diversion from the overall historic nature of Savannah tourist attractions. Whether the $30 fee for the 3-for package is debatable.

Cute little museum part of a trio of museums. The first floor has a little cafe you can eat at and the second/third floors have galleries and interactive artwork. It's pretty small and probably takes about 30 min to an hour to get through.

This was my very first cultural experience since our move to Savannah and it was a memorable one. We started off at the main exhibit and worked our way to the new children's art museum. We had 4 kiddos ranging from 2-8 and it was in my opinion very appropriate for even the little ones. I loved how there was a space for the kids to have some interactive hands-on time while the grown ups got to take a little sitting break. The tickets gave access to three museums one of them being the Olsen-Thomas house and after we got there (about 15 mins walk with kids) they told us that we had to reserve a tour and their last tour was booked. Considering that they are advertising that one ticket gives access to three museums, they shouldve notified that at the ticket booth. At Olsen-Thomas house they also said we could book the tour at the time of purchasing the ticket. It was kind of frustrating to find that out and having wasted a trip. Regardless, we had a great time but had to take a star off for the service.

You can't visit Savannah without going to the Jepson Center of the Arts, especially if you are love art. As part of the Telfair Museums that comprise the Owen-Thomas House & Slave Quarters and Telfair Academy, the Jepson Center provides visitors and residents with a venue to see various artwork and exhibits within a very modern-designed building. We saw several different exhibits through the three floors of the building, such as one that covered Russian costume and dress. Various paintings and artwork were a joy to view in this beautifully designed and easy-to-navigate museum. Additionally, they have an interactive space for kids with exhibits that provide different perspectives on art. They have a gift shop and cafe on the first floor if you're looking to have a bite to eat and pick up some souvenirs.

I was in awe of this building! It's sooo beautiful inside! I also ended up trying the Wildflower cafe which is a small cafe inside beside the gift shop. I only got a drink since I already ate lunch but the drink was so refreshing and delicious! You could tell the strawberry lemonade was made from scratch. Definitely recommend getting a day pass and checking out all of the museums within the Telfair community.

Lots of natural light, interactive children's area, garage parking nearby, and good mix of local and not-local artists. I have been here a few times, most recently June 2021 with a group. Parking: Your best bet is to try to park in the Robinson Parking Garage off of York. Watch for the full sign. Otherwise there is metered street parking on all nearby streets. Layout: Walking up, you cannot miss the the wall of windows facing Telfair Square. On the ground floor, they have a small cafe, the gift shop, and the check-in desk. There is a long staircase that takes you to the upper floors (there is an elevator just to the left). The second and third floors also have nice lighting with one large gallery room and one small room near the elevator without. Art: In June 2021, there was a great mix of local Savannah and Georgia artists with others. There are small statues and paintings in the hallway. I am not sure if these rotate out. The large room on the third floor has curated collections. I saw a good mix of clothing, paintings, woodwork, and other 3D types of art. A number of the descriptions had Spanish translations, but not all. The third floor also had an interactive small exhibit for children to play on and with, but it was closed due to COVID-19. Gift shop: When I came, there was a good mix of different items to purchase: local artists' pottery and ceramic, clothing articles, kids books and art or science kits, books, and the usual type of gift shop items. I purchased a few books on an outside discount table $10 and below on Savannah. Next time: I might check out the cafe offerings or attend an event here.

Very pretty building with lots of natural light on the first floor and up the staircase! Since it was 3 floors, I thought it would be larger with more art but there are only exhibits on the third floor while the first floor is the cafe/museum and the second floor is for art classes. I did enjoy the exhibits which had a mix of different art forms. I liked the room where there was music to go along with it. It's easy to miss but there's a sign on the wall in the exhibit on the front left side that somebody wrote this music to go along with the gallery. Pretty cool! It's also very nice that going into this museum gets you into a few historical locations for the next week or few days including the Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters which I went to the next day. That definitely helps make the price worth it!

Not a large museum but a good spot to investigate some interesting art. Some of the spaces were closed while I was there, but it's compact and quick to get through - if you really speed through you can get through in 30 min! They have a section where they showed the drawings of someone who illustrated a children's book for the museum - but the museum store isn't selling the book! I think this was a miss on their part. Overall, friendly staff and a nice little spot to pop in (and don't forget the museum across the street - definitely a required visit also as part of their ticket!).

We came here on a weekend and there was no line to get in. This is part of the Telfair properties where one ticket gets you into 3 places. This is an art museum and there were some cool displays while we were there. They recommended we start on the third floor and work our way down, which we did. There is a kids area on the 3rd floor that is small, but will keep your really young ones occupied. The top floor also had an inflatables exhibit, which was unique and fun for us. My favorite exhibit, however, was Chul-Hyun Ahn's Beyond exhibit, where pictures and other structures used mirrors to make it appear like they went on forever. There was lots in interactive things throughout and we spent about an hour there and feel like we did everything pretty thoroughly. The bottom floor has an art center for kids to do modeling and drawing. All of the staff were great!

Its amazing how this amazing, expensive modern building has so much terrible art in it. I saw under five things that I didn't think would make more sense adorning the inside of a dumpster. I gave it two stars for the building itself.

Not a huge art museum but some nice pieces. Moderately interesting to this novice. Made us leave our bottled water at the front door on a shelf. Tickets are for three places, including this art museum. Seen this once..probably wouldn't have to come back.

This art museum wasn't really my cup of tea and if you don't have a lot of time in Savannah I'd skip it. We bought the 3-for-1 ticket to the telfair museums and we had time to kill so we decided to go in here. We made it through in 30 minutes.

I ABSOLUTELY enjoyed this museum. They have 3 floors and I believe 6 or 7 different types of art rooms. My favorite was the illusion room. It's so cool how they can trick your eyes into believing it's something it's not. We were greeted in each room by security, and all were very friendly!! They have security to make sure you don't touch their paintings or statues. The rooms change quite often so don't count this museum out as a one and done, cause your next visit could be different displays.

A large, bright building that is part of the Telfair Academy across the street, I found myself searching for more art because there ain't a lot on display here. The recently concluded Jaime exhibition, consisting of a room-sized installation and one six-foot tall marble sculpture plus a few drawings, was the highlight here.

A beautiful building - very sleek and modern but for its size it seemed to be lacking exhibits. A huge plus - for $20 your admission ticket gets you into three museums: the Jepson Center, the Telfair Museum and the Owens-Thomas House. The Paper Rendering Exhibit was awesome, it's amazing what these artists created out of paper. The exhibit was small, but by far my favorite. The Impressionism exhibit is the largest consisting of three rooms. It was very well organized and there's some very unique and interesting pieces. You can easily get through the entire building in a few short hours leaving you time for the other museums!

Jepson Center For The Arts (JCFTA) is one of Telfair Musuem family of three museums. It's the contemporary one out of the three and it's beautiful. It's stunning in its oddly paired historic backdrop. I feel like it would be a museum you would see in NY or any other big city! My family and I have visited JCFTA a few times already and recently we went for Super Museum Sunday. This year, what drew us in was the big life size fabric white whale as part of the Summon The Sea! Contemporary Artists and Moby Dick. You can't miss the museum with its glass exterior. The ground floor is open and spacious with white tile/marble (whatever it's made of) and it's bright and natural light illuminates the space. The reception desk is right by the door, as soon as you walk in. Look up when you get inside because there is artwork by Savannah based artist, Katherine Sandoz. It's a beautiful and colorful piece suspended from the ceiling and adds that pop of color in the neutral surroundings. The lobby opens up to the staircase that leads you to the sub-floors. The staircase is stunning by itself. No wonder they rent out the space for weddings! At the far end, you'll find the museum shop and the newly added Joe's at The Jepson. For those of you who don't know, it's Joe's Homemade Cafe that used to be on Waters and they have rebranded themselves to Joe's At The Jepson. (I enjoyed my visit at their original location, so I definitely want to go back and check them out in their new home! Three floors are filled with different exhibits and our kids always enjoy the interactive ones which usually seem to be on the second floor. The bigger art canvas / object type exhibits always seem to be on the top floor. There is a designated Kids space on the top floor. The museum always has different stations set up at these big events for kids to make different art projects. They always have tons of stuff for kids to do or explore. - Heads Up - If you are local and if you intend to visit the Jepson and its sister museums a few times, the membership is probably the way to go and especially if you have kids. The membership will be well worth it, because a lot of their special events are free to for members! - TIP # Also, admission gives you access to all 3 museums and are valid for one week from time of purchase. Kids 5 and under are free and they offer a military discount, as well as Senior and Student discounts.

Quite a lovely museum, bathed in natural light, well curated, great museum shop, representation from more than just dead old white people. Favorites: the Nick Cave piece, David Gumbs interactive video pieces, and the Sauda Mitchell installation with amazing poetry and representation of individuals whose stories every American should know. Very nice museum.

I visit the Jepson several times a year, and I always enjoy my time spent there. Their exhibits rotate every several months, so there is always something new to view. In addition, the Jepson also hosts movie screenings and festivals throughout the year, which I find are always well attended and informative. There is also a dedicated interactive section for children that keeps them entertained and educated. This is a great place to spend a few hours on any given day. I really appreciate that the museum commonly shows how art and technology intersect, with the results greatly benefiting humanity. In my opinion, this is a highly recommended stop for tourists and locals.

We had an early lunch after which we strolled over to the Jepson Center as they were having an exhibit devoted to French Impressionism which Peg and I love. We paid $20.00 admission and were pleased to discover that it covered admission not only to the Jepson but to the Telfair Academy a block away and to the Owens-Thomas House about five blocks (a seven minute walk) away. Plus, the ticket was valid for one week! We only had time for the Jepson and Telfair as we didn't want to be late for our tour bus departure. (Although, being stuck in Savannah isn't exactly a bad thing!) The museum had vastly outgrown its collection and in 1998 the Board of Directors decided that a new building was the only answer. They "envisioned a building representative of its time but also open, welcoming, and inviting." However, knowing that it would be smack dab in the middle of the National Historic Landmark District, they would have a fight on their hands with the Historic Review Board. And a fight it was--but after two years of negotiations between the Museum and the Review Board over the designs submitted by architect Moshe Safdie, the new building was finally opened in 2006. Now, I'm normally not a fan of modernism in architecture but I have to say that Safdie's design works. It doesn't scream "look at me," but is satisfied to whisper "I'm over here," being almost an understatement on the landscape and willing to play nice with its neighbors. There's tons of open space with the main galleries branching off on either side. And yes, it does have a warm, welcoming feeling. As to the art, I'll let the photos of my favorites speak for themselves. Being a fan of museums, I took a bit of a Sunday afternoon to visit here, along with the Telfair. The building has a nice airy contemporary appearance from the lobby. The Jepson had an impressionist exhibition, which I'm always up for. There is a bit of a variance in art genre here, so there's something for everyone. The theater inside was showing an indie cartoon of some sort that was just weird as heck. It's not a large museum, so you can cover this within an hour. If you coupled this one with one or both museums that come with the admission, it's worth it. Otherwise, $20 is rather steep.

While the Jepson Museum is on the smaller side, they have a great variety of work in their collection. I especially enjoyed the photography section. I purchased admission at the Telfair museum and was able to also gain admission to the Jepson museum. A great way of spending an hour or two. The museum shop is also very nice.

Very boring, great example of millions of millions upon millions of dollar spent for the "arts" a waste of prime real estate. Who is paying for this??? Most of the art is abstract. I just didn't get it, wasted our time. The emperor has no clothes.

My family and I thought this museum was amazing! The exhibits we got to see were a mix of glass sculpture, virtual reality, photography and more. The On the Road photo exhibit was marvelous. My kids (5 & 9) loved some of the interactive exhibits. We closed down the museum, and one of the staff members kept it open a few extra minutes because there was one room we didn't get a chance to see. The museum store was also well stocked with different items. All in all, a great find!

Lovely museum and interesting pieces. If you had all intention to visit the 3 museums for the price then it would be worth it. However we were in Savannah for a limited time and really went there for the children's interactive displays which I didn't find too impressive. So...paying for 3 adults for about 30 min of capturing a child's interest was kind of bleh. But I get it, it's to support the arts. I just kind of wish they separated the pricing.

This is the contemporary building of the Telfair organization/museums. It is a gem for the city. It brings in work normally found in larger cities. Through the years they had Nick Cave, Monet, Sargent, Chagall, etc. This is an airy building with a good sized interactive children's section. Great for a rainy day in Savy with restaurants and parking nearby. The Pulse Festival is an event to put on your calendar.

Cool modern art museum in Savannah! The interactive exhibits were awesome (I'm sure kids would LOVE this place!) As students, we got $15 for all 3 Telfair Museums which seems like a great deal! I also highly suggest eating at Joe's while you're here!

Charging $22 to get in this place should be a crime. The art is boring and strange. The largest gallery was full of blow up dolls. I could not believe my eyes. It's one of those places you see once and never want to go back

My 4 year old and I had a wonderful time at the Jepson Center for the Arts Family Free Day a couple weeks ago. The BLOW UP exhibit was on view and there were several hands on activities set up for kids. Locals get in free for family day which is an added bonus for us! There was a bit of a wait to see the balloon sculpter, but she was amazing at meeting the requests of each kiddo in line. The building itself is an art exhibit, with its play on light and architecture. There is also a permanent kids exhibit there (for them to explore and play) which is nice. The studio was open for us to create our own blow up art as well. I'm sure we didn't even see all there was to offer, but definitely a place I would recommend for families. We did not bring the 1 year old and I'm not sure it would have been as fun had we done so. The center has several floors and staircases and it wouldn't have been quite so relaxing with a younger child. All the staff were pleasant and welcoming, and there is art for all ages to enjoy.

Jepson is a nice trendy art museum there in Savannah, and it had some interesting pieces, but my favorite feature was the Cafe Zeum which is their little lunch cafe. It is obvious that someone with great skill is preparing this menu and these meals, you will not find anything quite like this anywhere in the area. I ordered a cup of Tomato Thai soup and a CBG. This soup was so good I wanted more, but I had this great sandwich to get to. I can't recall anytime I have had any tomato soup I didn't get bored with after two bites and loaded with Saltines, but this one was great all the way to the bottom and had just a little kick. The Chicken Salad also is a very popular menu item and it was excellent; you can't go wrong. About the museum - it's great but don't miss the Telfair Academy - it's across the street and not to be missed. A very nice contrast to the Jepson and just as nice. Jepson has lots of things for the children to do - it's not a children's museum per se but has a lot of activities.

Here to watch the film Dream Big! The atrium is beautifully lit and as always the staff is professional. I would always recommend stopping in the Jepson day to day but especially for their highlighted programs!

I love the architecture of the new building and the way it lets in so much light. The actually exhibits were a little smaller then expected. It was hard to get around the huge tour group that was visiting the Uffizi exhibit. I think I saw more interesting pieces at Uffizi so it wasn't their most highlighted pieces but those are probably not part of a traveling collection anyway. The childrens' discovery portion of the museum was interesting and if the computer interactive displays actually worked we could see what they actually did. The outside patios had some odd sculptures. What a perfect spot for some chairs with umbrellas and a cafe. The avant garde solo exhibition was very modern and actually pretty interesting. I hope they continue to showcase local budding artists. The museum store was cute and well stocked-worthy of a browse around.

4 stars for a very fun and new age art museum. My wife and I have been to Savannah several times. Each time we go, we always drive by the Jepson Center, which is located off of Telfair Square, and swear we will check it out. During our last visit, we were finally able to check out the Jepson Center, and it definitely did not disappoint. The first thing you see when you arrive at the Jepson center are large glass windows, lots of white stone, and a large open staircase. We stopped to check-in at the front desk and were told that the Center was free for the Pulse technology event. We proceeded up the staircase and started checking out the exhibits. Many of the exhibits are interactive, so we were able to see art being made in real time and try out some of the latest virtual reality devices (the interactive floor game was amazing and engaging). After seeing the Pulse exhibit, we went around to see other various art exhibits. Many exhibits at the Jepson Center seemed to want to integrate technology with things like history or Savannah or even ocean waves. While many museums are predominantly large rooms with paintings (Jepson has a few of those), this museum seems interested in both sharing and creating culture with its patrons. My only qualm with the museum is that, for being a huge space, there didn't seem to actually be as many exhibits as one would expect. While my wife and I aren't the type to stare at each painting for hours on end, we did look through the entire museum pretty thoroughly in about an hour's time. Overall, the Jepson Center is a beautiful art museum with state-of-the-art exhibits that provide a different perspective for people looking to take in some of Savannah's culture. The next time you are over driving around Telfair Square, it would definitely be worth your time to stop by and take a look around.

The open bold architecture is great complement to the modern art housed in this museum! The natural lighting enhances the art collection. While I don't have young children anymore, I thought the area that allows a hands on experience with art very well done. There are some very good non modern art sculptures including Savannah's famous bird girl that is placed on the second floor mezzanine allowing indoor viewers to closely examine it and outdoor tours to get a tantalizing glimpse. I do not have much of an appreciation for modern art and the rest of the exhibits and collections did nothing to change my mind about returning. In particular, I really do have to wonder or hope that the three splotches of oblong color were donated; as I found nothing artistic in the large green, yellow and brown blotches on canvas that were hanging prominently in the museum. Oh well maybe it's just me, but I think anyone could do that, so I just don't get it. That being said, this is a great venue that has so much potential.

The architecture of this building is amazing, but as for the galleries, I was unimpressed. The building is large but there isn't much art. The art it did have was mostly prints or projections. I was hoping for some oil paintings, but they didn't have many. Went to the Maritime Museum after visiting here, and it was much more interesting and had more oil paintings than this gallery.

An architectural show piece that anchors the neighborhood where SCAD (Savannah School of Design) is making its presence known, restoring hundreds of buildings and bursting doors with 10 thousand students. Completed in 2006, the Jepson houses the Telfair family's Kirk Varnedoe Collection, so named for a Savannah native who went on to become curator at MOMA, NYC. You're teased with a street sighting of the maiden statue who is displayed in the second story gallery window. Made popular when it was pictured on the cover of the novel cum movie, "Garden of the Good and Evil",the little maiden was moved to this aerie after too ardent fans / pranksters stole her from her Savannah garden home. We are told this happened more than once, and in typical,Savannah mystery form, we weren't told how the statue was recovered each time. Perhaps one of the many local ghosts escorted her. I thought it particularly Southern to venerate Elvis with a fantastic, temporary exhibit of black & white photographs taken when the singer was about 21 years old. Interesting, contemporary, student works were also on display. They were guarded by an over zealous guard who stalked us through the rooms. Weird. Funny, in contrast, were the couple of museum patrons who passed us between galleries. They wore patron name tags, in case there was any doubt. One elderly gentleman stopped us and asked if we had heard about the kidnapping..."No!"...well, don't worry. He said the kid woke up. His friends kept walking as he cornered us, armed with his corny joke, but which was now saved for strangers since its welcome had obviously worn thin with his friends. I wandered into the kids' area and lab. Volunteers come for several hours at a time and staff a wondrous workshop where any one, of any age, can pick up a colored pencil or manipulate colored paper at will. Lovely!

We really had no intention of going to this museum but I'm glad we went. It was part of a package deal. We got to tour the Owens Thomas house, and the smaller museum across the street. There was an interactive area in the museum that we had a lot of fun doing. I'm sure it was for kids but me and my adult daughter had a great time playing with the exhibits. It wasn't busy so there weren't any kids there so we could play as much as we wanted. There were cool art exhibits too. I really enjoyed it.

While it is true the outside gives the impression it's larger than it is which is initially a bit disappointing, the displays and exhibits they offer are great and they adequately utilize all of the space available. I have become a greater fan as I've had the chance to experience it a but more. With the offer of family free days each month, there's plenty of opportunity throughout the year for all to visit and enjoy the exhibits. They have a section geared to children but the adults will enjoy it too. I always do lol. I see and learn something new and cool every time I'm here. I have lunch at the cafe and visit the gift shop at the end to get the full experience. They offer special events throughout the year and classes too.

We loved our time in the Jepson. I love how organized and easy to find everything is. We really enjoyed the Impressionism feature as well as the digital art feature. Pretty small museum tbh but it was beautiful, diverse, and interesting.

The most interesting museum I've been to in Savannah. The Bird Girl sculpture replicas can be purchased in the gift shop!

Four stars for a cool museum in a great location. Best sure to check out the special events! The museum itself isn't huge. However, it has plenty of stuff to be interesting. There museum also offers a lot of variety and a bit of something for everyone. There's a fairly large kid zone located near the back. It's surprisingly interactive and interesting for people of all ages. My husband and I enjoyed looking around this area too! There's also a technology and art section! This area is awesome and also highly interactive. When we went, there was a floor game where you and a partner destroyed glowing orbs, a virtual reality tetris and an interactive camping game! This section was the best. There are also traditional art sections featuring mostly modern styles. However, there's usually a featured event happening that adds really cool stuff. We went during the technology event and saw tons of cool projects. Overall, this is a fun museum in a great location.

We want here specifically for the William Wegman exhibit as I am a huge fan of his photography and have been since a young tween. As a new local I've already been to all of the Telfair museums so I really just wanted to see this particular exhibit and then leave. I was very disappointed I had to pay $20 per person and had no option to just pay for one museum. My only option is to buy a membership which was something I wasn't interested in either. I love the museum, but again I don't want to pay for all three museums if I am only visiting one for a particular exhibit at that. I was also disappointed there were no souvenirs I could purchase for the actual William Wegman exhibit itself... like a magnet or something would have been nice. It was a bit of a bummer, I guess if we go back, since we are local, we'll look into the membership.

I love art museums and this one did not disappoint!!! It started out slow and I was nervous I wouldn't like it so much, but I loved the Steward gallery as well as the interactive 2nd floor! We stayed for hours! Again, I do appreciate modern art and this was a great one. I noticed some super negative reviews from others who admit they don't even like modern art and their main complaint is... that it's modern art.

Best technology-oriented exhibit I've seen. Interactive and timeless My biases were revealed in the surprise and delight I experienced finding such an exhibit in tourist Mecca of historic district Savannah!!
