I’ve been coming to Jerry’s for over 15 years, and it’s still just as amazing as ever. The food remains top-notch, and it’s great to see Jerry’s son carrying on the tradition with the same high standards. Everything here is fresh, flavorful, and consistently well-prepared. The seafood is always incredibly fresh and tastes fantastic. The chicken wings are a must-try—they’re a classic appetizer and one of my all-time favorites. I also highly recommend the artichoke hearts, another standout appetizer. Between my family and me, we’ve tried just about everything on the menu, and there isn’t a single thing we’d complain about. The quality is always there. All the seafood dishes are fantastic! The steak is excellent, and the steak sandwich is one of the best around. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch or a relaxed meal, Jerry’s is definitely worth a visit. And the bonus? A lovely little view of the water and boats that adds to the charm. You won’t be disappointed!

We stopped by for dinner one night during our North Fork getaway. Lively vibe, and food were not bad. We start off with a dozen raw clams, for entree we got the Fried Shrimp and Broiled Norwegian Salmon. Everything was good and the salmon was cooked just right.

The lobster roll and sweet potato fries were absolutely delicious — fresh, well-seasoned, and nicely presented. The staff was so friendly and genuinely helpful — you can tell they really care about their guests. Plus, the bar has a lovely location with a view of the marina, which makes the atmosphere even better, especially in summer

Spectacular! It was a wonderful experience with excellent seafood cuisine. Absolutely everything was perfect, from our super-fresh oyster starter to the main courses and the carrot cake—woah, perfect! The place has a lot of history with a beautiful view of the pier. The service from the staff was excellent, very friendly. Congratulations! !!!Highly recommended!!!!!

Been here a lot in my life. Each time, the food is amazingly good with quick and punctual staff, great service and a beautiful setting. Today I had had the shrimp scampi as well as, local shucked to order clams. That I sadly did not get photos of. It is on the pricey side but the food is amazing! You won’t be disappointed. You won't leave there hungry. If you opt to sit towards the back, you'll have the water view of a marina!!

Google
Wow everything was absolutely delicious! The escargot and Jerry’s hot wings are a must. We very much enjoyed the crab cakes, baked clams, calamari, fish and chips, shrimp scampi and linguini with clam sauce as well. They also serve Bedell Cabernet Franc - how can you beat that?

Google
Fast friendly service. The Manhattan clam chowder was okay. The crust on the fish and chips was really hard. I had to take it off to eat the fish.. I thought it was very strange that the lobster roll had tuna in it. So it looks very generous size wise, but you're not really getting more lobster just much cheaper filler fish. For $40? 😒

Google
Had a fabulous birthday lunch at Jerry & Mermaid. Greeted by two energetic lovely waitresses and I shared that it was my birthday - couldn’t help myself. The oysters were massive and delicious and I had the hot lobster with sweet potato fries. Hubby had manhattan clam chowder and crab cake- everything disappeared quickly. I was pleasantly surprised with an ice cream stuffed crepe - delicious treat!! Truly a great welcoming place to enjoy the afternoon.

Yelp
Good service just makes the food taste even better am i right ? went here with my husband and two boys, after a day at the aquarium and it just put the cherry on top of a perfect day, thanks to Lynn. Lynn knows how to hustle on a busy Saturday without making u feeling rushed or taking away from your dining experience, truly makes you feel like family. The wings were perfectly crispy and flavorful. Clam chowder and seafood bisque was prob the best we have ever had. We spilt the fried seafood combo and it was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful, you can tell they change the fryer oil very frequently bc it didnt just taste like oil. Overall and incredible experience, cant wait to dine with Lynn again soon.

Yelp
Stop by here assuming they brought back their happy hour but nope. Their website is outdated or atleast not effective for this Monday (Aug 26th) probably considering it might still be summer. They have 1 hr parking for patrons. Who eats within 1 hr? I guess we did since this place was underwhelming. I been here once for my Bachelorette about 9 years ago and I can tell why I haven't been back. I don't know why the high stats rating though. Might be better some days compared to others? We sat at the bar and got drinks (blue moon and ube whale gin), clams, oysters, and their famous lobster roll. The ube whale gin drink was eh, think of gin and tonic with maybe one drop of ube extract. I was imagining it to be more thick and unique in flavor. Did not taste any ube, just the gin. As for the clams and oysters, we ordered 6 of each and only 5 oysters came out. We didn't miscount. The waitress was flagged down and was like yes, there is only 5... and had to tell the kitchen to serve one more. She was nice and joked that the kitchen was probably drunk when I mentioned that we didnt drink enough to be miscounting haha. The top necks were okay, meaty. Not too sweet if I compared to what you may get more north in rhode island. The oysters were pretty sweet but not cleaned properly. I had to spit out cracked shells etc. Maybe only 1 of the 6 was cleaned enough. Ok, fine... now onto their famous lobster roll (cold). The bread isn't your toasted potato roll and you cannot taste the sweetness of the lobster. I should've listen to the Yelp reviews blasting the lobster roll. For those that liked it, were you regulars? Coming back from a trip in Newport, I would give this lobster roll is 2 out of 10 for trying. The mayo and celery pretty much covered the lobster taste. I'm just hoping that it's fresh enough. Overall, I wouldn't come back. The bait and switch menu online is sad since the quality is definitely not up to par.

Yelp
Been here quite a few times. Each time, the food has been consistently good with friendly staff, great service and a bright ambiance. Today, here's what we ordered: - shrimp scampi: over linguine - linguine with white clam sauce: local shucked to order clams, white wine, garlic herbs, and butter It is on the pricey side but the food is good. You won't leave there hungry. If you opt to sit towards the back, you'll have the water view of a marina.

Yelp
For 30 years, Jerry's has consistently produced amazing food and friendly service. Casual dining with nautical decor. Perfect for any occasion: date night, group of friends, family gatherings, large parties, or drinks at the bar. Kid friendly too! When the warm weather arrives, they also feature outdoor dining with a view of the water & boats. I cannot say enough about this place. The menu truly has something for everyone. Seafood, steaks, pastas, amazing burgers, appetizers & desserts to die for (mussels Luciano & Jerry's famous wings continue to be my favorites), some vegan choices, and a kids menu. Their specials are always uniquely crafted and delicious. The service is ALWAYS on point. I have dined here since it opened 30 years ago. All the staff are friendly, attentive and professional. I have never, ever experienced an "off night" here. Never. Jerry Jr who is head chef and owner continues to impress. Always welcoming and always thankful for your business. I could have gone anywhere to celebrate my birthday with my family. Jerry and the Mermaid is an easy choice, because I know the food and service are going to be excellent every time. If you have never been here, you need to rectify that! Please read my previous reviews. Everything I mentioned still holds true. But I noticed today that I had not done an updated review, so here it is. Love this place so much!

Yelp
First off, let's talk about our waitress Lynn an amazingly sassy woman, who should be the official mascot of Long Island. She had us chuckling the whole night! Second, the Jerry Made Me Cry Wings, spicy meh not for this cowboy, but delicious? Fam, it's been 3 hours and I'm still thinking about how dang good they were. Like sweet honey flavored with a hint of red pepper. Ambiance is a typical sport bar type feel, lot of fried food options. our bill came out to $42 per, so a little pricey however I don't feel like I over paid considering the service and the quality of the food. This one is on my short list for return trips.

Yelp
Jerry and the Mermaid is one of the best restaurants in Riverhead. The food is awesome, and the decor is casual and fun. The service is also impeccable and every time we go here, we have a perfect meal! This is our go-to place to eat before we go to the Suffolk Theater for a show. We always let them know we have a show, and they always get us out in more than enough time, without us feeling rushed. They know just how to time everything, from apps, entrees and drinks, so that we have a relaxed awesome meal, and don't even have to think about the time. We usually go with a group ranging from 4-10, depending on who's going to the show with us, and it doesn't matter, they still provide us with the best service, great food and awesome drinks! The bartender, or bartenders, really know how to make spectacular drinks, and every server we have had, is truly the best! If you are going to the Suffolk Theater and want to have a great meal before you go, then check this place out! Chances are you will also get to meet the owner, who is there a lot! He is just so friendly and down to earth, which is the reason behind his success; he really cares and you can tell as soon as you meet him! Going to another show in two weeks, and we are all looking forward to coming back here again :-)

Yelp
Freshly made food, amazing service, and cozy ambiance. What else can you ask for?! I always have a Lobster Roll during the summer and I decided to try "Jerry and the Mermaid." I was not disappointed to say the least. It was one of the best I've ever had. Waffle fries and the coleslaw were great additions. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Awesome place right next to the LI Aquarium. Casual yet "vacation" vibes. Great seafood and American food selection. Also extensive bar/cocktail list. The coconut margarita was phenomenal. Clams on the half shell were super fresh. Husband enjoyed the French onion soup and his burger. My crispy chicken sandwich was great with a chipotle mayo and pepper jack cheese. I love that they serve waffle fries, the best kind of fry. A kids menu is also offered which is great! You can pick which side dish you want with the kids me as well. Daily specials offered which sounded great. Service was phenomenal. Our waitress was so nice and the owner even came to check in and see how our experience was. Family friendly place and they were so great with my toddler. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Yelp
We enjoyed a terrific meal here when in town this Labor Day weekend. After picking up some veggies and grocery items nearby at Lewins we decided to drive over a few minutes for a late lunch. Being that if became a hot day we all loved the cold air conditioned enclosed deck area overlooking the boats and Peconic River. Our server and the staff were helpful, nice, and friendly. In fact, Chef Jerry even came over to see if all was ok and to check to make sure we enjoyed his cooking. We sure did! From the conch fritters appetizer to the thick and delicious New England clam chowder as starters. Then the seafood and pasta entrées were also delicious. There is plenty to choose from on the menu without it being too much. Some of the plates we viewed others eating also looked great. Makes us want to come back to try something else. Fairly priced items, and they also have a nice cocktail list along with a selection of beers. Inside dining area has a typical nautical theme which goes along with the name of the place, and a nice bar to sit at and enjoy a libation. Were were tempted to get dessert here but with Snowflake ice cream just down the street we had to go there for that!

Yelp
for the many times ive eaten at the restaurant , it never fails to impress . The Food which this time was his fried seafood platter , loaded with shrimp scallops.clams and filet of flounder with a side of crispy fries and coleslaw I could barely finish, however his vanilla creme bru-lee is so could , could make you go back just for that , our server Kim was so spectacular and even Jerry himself welcomed us and visited the table to see if we were enjoying our meal , My good friend had the fresh tuna which was equally as good and had star quality taste. and appeal. can't wait to return

Yelp
Another fantastic meal and thanks to the Chef for stopping by to say hello and check in on us as we dined. Had an incredible lobster roll and espresso martini. This is the perfect spot to dine on the water and people watch!

Yelp
Had to have my ahi tuna studded with black and white sesame seeds rare. It is served with a wonderful wasabi cream sauce, fresh market, vegetables, and a choice of potato. It is always consistently delicious. We started with the duck wings that are something so special. They are served with a really delicious, sweet spicy, yummy Asian sauce, and a bit of blue cheese dressing on the side. Jerry and the mermaid is close to the Riverhead aquarium is has a very casual beachy vibe. Our server Joanna is always so pleasant.and It's wonderful to see her. We were greeted by Jerry junior, who is taking over the place and I must say that he's keeping up to the standards of his dad.

Yelp
We came here after hearing that it's one of the best places around and the service was great but the food was just ok. Ambiance feels like any New England seafood joint. Traditional lobster roll(4/5) Hot lobster roll (2/5) Shrimp scampi (2.5/5) Beer selection was also good as well as cocktails. Overall good vibe, service, drinks, but food kind of underwhelmed our table.

Yelp
I was craving a lobster roll, my daughter googled n found this place. It had good reviews so we called to make reservations. We opted the warm lobster roll. It was delicious, buttery satisfying our craving. Market price at tge time was $36 each. The oysters were fresh, clean n tasty. The fried calamari was nice n crispy. The odd thing was the cocktail n wine menu didn't have a price. Love the sea themed ambiance. There was also French onion soup n crème boule. We were too full. So maybe next time. I'll leave room for desert.

Yelp
Overpriced average food average service will not be returning. Place was not busy. Took 20 minutes to get someone to come over. Nothing to brag about probably could've got better food at Wendy's.

Pamela R.

Yelp
I love Jerry n the Mermaid. Every time I'm on that area I go there. I was just there last week. I love the location on that marina. The food portions are plentiful. The waiting service is stellar and friendly. I've bought friends as well as my husband there and we all live in NYC. My favorite appetizer is the duck wings. It's such a unique dish. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Not Senior Friendly. Not Dog Friendly. Nasty Man Wanted Us to Leave Old Dog in Hot Car. This place claims to be a dog friendly restaurant, yet we were told to LEAVE OUR DOG IN THE CAR ON A HOT 84° SUNNY SUMMER DAY!! This was from a male employee. Could have been the owner Jerry. Our senior arthritic dog has a thick coat and weighs 108lbs. This was an extremely cruel and inhumane suggestion. Especially for a restaurant listed as "dog friendly" and featured on BringFido. We went to Jerry and the Mermaid for a celebratory lunch for my handicapped mother's 82nd birthday and brought our large docile 11.5 year old dog with us because we were meeting my aunt an hour and a half from home. We picked this restaurant because we saw it was listed on BringFido and my aunt has also been here and has seen a lot of dogs at this restaurant. In fact, when we arrived there was one barking like crazy on their patio overlooking the parking lot. Not only did they tell us to leave our dog in a hot car, but they also watched as my disabled mother struggled to get up the stairs and did nothing, offered no assistance, pain no attention to her, all while my aunt tried to help her. Mind you, the restaurant and patio space was pretty empty. Barely any customers and they clearly did not want our business. What's laughable is that the man who told us to leave our dog in a hot car also told us our dog was "too energized". We obviously did not stay for lunch and instead struggled to get my mom back down the couple steps she made it up and then it took us a good 5 minutes to get our old arthritic dog to climb back in the car. This turned out to be a great blessing in disguise though, because we ended up going to a much better restaurant near by called ON THE DOCK, which has fantastic menu, food was delicious, professional staff, and a much classier atmosphere and menu with an amazing view and gorgeous interior. The patio is right on the water, has good shade and a beautiful bar. Not with seating looking out at a parking lot like Jerry and the mermaid. They also had no issue with our big senior dog and made us all feel totally welcomed. The staff and guests treated my mother so kindly and all loved our dog. He got lot's of pets and photos taken of him at On The Dock!

Yelp
Excellent food, waitstaff and the owner head chef could not be more welcoming. I highly recommend this establishment.

Yelp
I dig this joint. Solid grub with a coastal New England, crab shack kinda vibe. Very much reminds me of places we've visited in Maine! Decor and seating is a bit dated but... comfy and familiar. Somehow, it's kinda what you were expecting and you're happy for it. Wife had the conch fritters which she very much enjoyed, and the butternut squash soup. Creamy, thick and slightly sweet, it was served in an actual, hollowed-out gourd, which was a very cool detail! I had the blackened fish sandwich. Slightly on the small side but, to me, this indicated it was a real, genuine, freshly caught fish and not some hulking, steroid-infused, farm-raised behemoth trucked in from Jersey. Very well seasoned. Modest craft beer selection but craft beer geeks (such as myself) should be able to find something acceptable to wet your whistle. We sat on the back porch which offers a partial view of the river (more of the marina). I would guess this would be even more enjoyable in warmer weather with the windows open and a warm breeze blowing in. The service was very good. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and I do appreciate a seasoned waitstaff that are at ease with customers, knowledge of the menu and service. Chef also popped out to check in with us which was a nice touch and very much appreciated. Next door to the Aquarium, Jerry and the Mermaid is a perfect place to stop for solid, tasty food in a relaxing, unpretentious atmosphere. (BONUS: They're attached to A Book Place Boutique, an independent bookstore! So be sure to stop by and continue to support local!) We will definitely be back! Thanks for the meal!

Yelp
Simply fantastic! There are seafood restaurants which think they are entitled because of the niche of food served skimping on quality & overpriced. However, here they overwhelm with kindness impeccable service fair pricing and freshness/quality. Google or search them out, the area is growing and this should be a must stop when in the area.

Yelp
Came here for a bridal shower and was impressed with the food/service. Came back for dinner with family! LOCATION: right by the aquarium on main street. Parking is a bit slim unfortunately. DECOR: a little mix of nautical/divey but a cute and cozy feel. FOOD: ordered baked clams and crab cakes as appetizers, both were good! Crab cakes were impressive... I have family in MD and they did taste just like the ones I get there. For dinner we ordered burgers which were also good! Generous helping of waffle fries on the side and onion straws on the burger were a nice touch. Dessert we got the tiramisu and coconut creme brulee. I wished the tiramisu was a bigger portion, but it tasted great. SERVICE: all of the staff was very friendly! The waitress was very nice, quick and efficient. A man came by asking how our meal was, and then he gave my 4 year old 2 free toys from the little machines by the door. That was nice of him, it made her night lol. Besides the food being good I really just liked the atmosphere also. Very casual and relaxed, nice staff and quick service but you didn't feel rushed. I would recommend this place to others and will definitely return!

Brigit C.

Yelp
To be honest, I haven't had many lobster rolls in my life, but the best ones I've ever had were at Jerry and the Mermaid on Long Island. I visit Long Island about once a year for business, and I always make it a point to stop by this cozy bar for a lobster roll. It's fresh, generously filled with juicy chunks of lobster, and served with a light, tasty dip and some fresh greens for crunch and visuals. Their menu also offers a variety of other fish- and seafood dishes, which I imagine are just as delicious. The atmosphere at the bar is welcoming and cozy. They offer a wide selection of wines and beers, play 70s rock classics, and the staff is friendly, joyful, and down-to-earth. I highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Julia S.

Yelp
I can't believe this is so highly rated. Everything we ate tasted like it was from the microwave. Possibly one of the worst clam chowders I've had and we'll call the salmon suspicious. My husband ordered a Montauk draft beer and it seemed flat or possibly just the wrong beer. Sitting outside is essentially sitting in the parking lot. Not a very nice view and it smelled like car exhaust. The servers were nice and attentive, but won't be returning to this spot when there's so many other seafood places that offer fresh options.
google avatar

Amanda G.

Yelp
We came here after a short trip to the LI Aquarium which is located a few doors down, on the other side of the Hyatt Hotel. There was no wait and we dined on their enclosed patio. Everyone was very friendly. When we walked in we were warmly greeted by just about all of the staff. I felt very welcomed. Service was excellent. Our server was very sweet and the busses patrol regularly to clear off empty plates. The lavender mule was a nice drink I tried, kind of sweet with a kick. The kiddo had the breaded fried flounder with waffle fries. I'm trying to steer her away from tendies and fries, broaden her horizons and such, and she really liked her meal. Of course she needed BBQ sauce because life ain't right without the BBQ but I was just happy that she enjoyed the fish and ate all of it. My MIL and I had their New England clam chowder. It had a nice texture and flavor. The bacon added saltiness but I was hoping for more of a smokey flavor. We also order their duck wings for the table. I love a good duck wing and these were lightly dressed and served with bleu cheese dressing. They were great and the server said they're a popular item. Hubby had the Jerry's Angus Burger but it wasn't that great. He likened it to a Burger King burger. I took a bite and would have to agree. The patty did not taste good at all. I had their crab cak app as my main and liked it. Surprisingly, I was full after one. I've had better but the remoulade was really nice. My MIL had their coconut shrimp app and enjoyed that as well. We ended the meal with a baked apple tart that came with ice-cream and whipped cream. The kiddo liked that the best. If ever in Riverhead again, I would definitely come back. They have a nice lunch special on wraps and sandwiches between 11A-3P.

Yelp
I have to give a big shout out to the management of this restaurant. I called tonight as our to-go order had some missing condiments and utensils after it was already received. I learned they were packed and shortstaffed that night, but the person who spoke to me (maybe the manager?) was so great, and handled the problem immediately herself. We were very appreciative and I am very impressed by her excellent customer service and very quick action when she was swamped. Brava! and thank you, so much.

Yelp
Hello yelpers! I finally got to experience the food and fun at Jerry and the Mermaid. It was awesome! Whitney our waitress was so much fun, she gave us an education about the menu items. We started off with a couple of drinks then I ordered the seafood bisque (yummy, creamy and delicious) and the big bowl of steamers. I asked Whitney to please make sure that each steamer was a nice size, and she did just that! For lunch, I had the mermaid platter which consisted of fried shrimp, scallops and filet over fried. They were all so tasty and crispy and the Tartar sauce just perfect!!!! I also ordered some battered onion rings, oh man, they were great too! My wife had their famous hot lobster roll. This was loaded up with lobster meat on a toasted bun, served with waffle fries, she enjoyed this immensely ! I am looking forward to a return trip to J & M soon! Thanks Whitney for your great service!

Yelp
In a word...scungilli... a rare treat done properly. Cheerful service and Shelter Island Pilsner on tap. On the back deck , life is good , so is Jerry and the Mermaid !!!

Renee Z.

Yelp
The amazing burger and waffle fries are the best around! Served with a bit of coleslaw and options for add-ons like bacon and avocado send it over the top! Tom behind the bar is friendly and the staff is efficient! Take out orders are ready for pick up quickly, too.

Audra H.

Yelp
My family's favorite restaurant with amazing food and service like no other! A great place to make memories with Jerry as the leader of a team that makes everyone feel like family.

Yelp
This was a Michelin star experience! The presentation was exquisite followed by a mouthful of flavor. I stumbled upon this place by coincidence today not expecting much other than a simple lunch and WOW I was wrong, I wished I lived closer but I will be coming back in 2 weeks. Thank you to everyone who made this such a delightful experience and thank you to the chef who greeted us today- your food is literally AMAZING

Yelp
Great food in a nautical rustic environment. Our waitress was very nice. I got the salmon, the sauce on top was very good. A lot of variety of seafood selections. I recommend this restaurant.

Marie M.

Yelp
Thanks Jerry! It was oysters Rockefeller. They brought new ones that were cold on the bottom. The And then the fried platters overcooked also. We didn't bother sending that back. Appreciate your response!

Yelp
The hot lobster and bluepoint oyster was fantastic. The waitresses, Kim and other servers are very kind and friendly. Thank to Kim for the recommendation, you made my day. God bless you and Jerry and The Mermaid! God, I want to honor You with every blessing from you. Food, Family, freedom and friends. Thank you Lord! Let my whole life be one that honors You and brings You glory. You are holy and worthy of all my praise and adoration. My life is Yours! In Jesus' name, Amen.

Yelp
Went to Jerry's with my family, a total of 5...ALL of us loved what we had, taste, quality, quantity, value and service were all above and beyond our wildest imagination!!!! Jerry the owner was great and so nice, making sure we were all content. NOT ONE of us had anything left on our plates, the food was SO GOOD!!! The decor is also way cool... WE will all be back again and again!!!!

Jay S.

Yelp
Food was great, nice to eat by the water, staff could not have been nicer and shout out to Jerry (owner and head chef) who is very friendly and accommodating. Came here first for my daughters rehearsal dinner (wedding at Aquarium, literally steps from hotel next door) and they did it perfectly. Ate there a few times after that as is that good. Loved the clam chowder. Well worth stopping in.

Yelp
Great food and service. Views if the Peconic River! Parking is available. Appetite are plentiful and delicious. They have excellent lobster rolls, fish & chips, plus many more. Tonight we had both types of clam chowder and fish & chips. Excellent!

Yelp
Delicious meal and great service. Jerry was very kind and also made sure everyone was enjoying his food. We got the crab cakes, seafood bisque, the combo platter and my dad got a burger. All super delicious and top notch. Back room is very loud so we sat in the front, very cute atmosphere and will definitely be back. There's even a cute book store attached to the restaurant.

Yelp
I enjoyed their linguini with white clam sauce. Service was good. Ambiance was a bar/restaurant vibe.

James E.

Yelp
It's been awhile since I have been at Jerry's. That said, the food has always been good and I look forward to getting back there. It's been too long.

Yelp
We were celebrating a birthday and dined at Jerry and The Mermaid. It is a go to restaurant for us. First, our thanks to Whitney, our server. She is a just a bubbly personality. After her description of the nights specials, we all wanted to order all of them. Always a great staff, but as our server tonight she was just what we needed to have a special night. 3 of the four of us ordered the special Patagonian fish. The other person ordered the sumptuous Salmon. Needless to say OUTSTANDING. Everything was perfectly prepared. The owner and host Jerry is one of the most genuine and kind folks you could meet. He came over to our table to check on us a couple times. He is very welcoming. To our surprise he sent over a Happy Birthday desert, which was delicious and we scraped every drop off the plate. Thank you to Whitney for putting up with us and for your perfect service. To end, thank you Jerry for always having great food and being so gracious.

Yelp
Amazing food. Gotta try the Shrimp Parmigiana and the muscle marinara. The service is excellent. When we go here we definitely feel welcome. One of our favorite places to eat.

Yelp
Last weekend, my husband and I were invited to attend a rehearsal dinner here and I honestly want to revisit the area again just because I am already craving to come back here! First off, I want to point out the service for such a large party was excellent. Each and every staff member working on the party was friendly and attentive. I thought it was also nice that Chef Jerry came out a few times to check on everyone to make sure the food was to the liking. For appetizers we had the calamari, mussels and tuna salad. Everything was cooked to perfection and the sauce the mussels were in was absolutely delicious. For an entree I tried their fish special, my husband had the chicken parm, the bride had the linguini in white clam sauce and my father had the steak so all of us got to try a little bit of everything. Everything was excellent but personally I thought the fish special was the best of them all, which is no surprise since it's more of a seafood restaurant. However the real winner of the entire night had to be the dessert. Everyone could not stop raving about it- the ice cream in a crepe with fudge OMG I don't even remember the last time I had dessert in a restaurant that was so memorable and amazing. I checked out their full menu after this great dinner which has a pretty decent selection that caters to all kinds of eaters. I hope to return again very soon!

Yelp
I enjoyed my meal. I came in at a slower time and had shrimp and creme brulee. Everything was very good. I'll come back the next time I'm in town for work.

Yelp
Clams On The Half Shell Beer Battered Fish & Chips Scungili & Pasta The food was excellent, the servers were knowledgeable and very friendly. The coconut margarita was delicious and the ambience was so refreshing sitting outside next to the Marina! Thanks for a great lunch!

Yelp
Nice sea themed Resturants just steps from the long island aquarium. Came here for lunch one day while visiting the aquarium and had a nice experience. First off, the server was very nice and recommend probably one of the better lobster rolls I've had. The lobster rolls, both hot and cold, were very good, as I got the cold and my wife got the hot. Kids menu was also nice and plenty of food for them. Overall a great spot to stop at if you're in the area or visiting the aquarium for the day.

Yelp
Third times a charm is the saying, right? Well, most people probably don't write up a review with one experience coming around 6 1/2 years prior while the other two are months apart. But hey, that's me and that's how I got here with this Jerry & The Mermaid review. That first time came way back after visiting the Long Island Aquarium with my semi-new girlfriend at the time (now fiancée) and a few friends. I remember choosing Jerry for location, but also because the place had good reviews. My fried seafood platter was also relatively memorable, but truth be told, this was a little before my Yelping days so a review never happened to commemorate the memory. Flash forward to August of 2021 and I found myself back at Jerry for another respectably tasty experience. This time it was similar with my fiancée and two (different) friends, though I went in a different direction food-wise and tried the rigatoni alla vodka with cremini mushrooms which was pretty darn delicious. The place still seemed the same to me with its nautical/divey/pub style and setup. And here we now face the present (or three weeks ago which is close enough) when my good chum and his bride to be had their rehearsal dinner here at Jerry & The Mermaid. This meal showcased a decent starter salad, a few formidable appetizers (okay calamari and tasty wings in a semi-sweet/tangy/spicy house sauce), and a choice of pre-selected main courses with mine being the breaded shrimp scampi over linguini. Though a tad oily, the flavors of garlic and shrimp shined through. I snagged a savory bite of my fiancée's chicken francese which had a nice lemon cream sauce. So where am I sitting on stars for Jerry? Four seems about right with food being of solid quality and the establishment keeping itself together all these years since my first visit. I'll give a side shoutout to the service being spot on this most recent visit for the rehearsal dinner (as it should be!) and the previous time coming in second (can't remember that first outing all those years ago). Overall, Jerry & The Mermaid stands the test of time...sort of. I mean it was good about 6 1/2 years ago and it still is good today in delivering some tasty seafood, satisfying service, and an experience strong enough to keep my mind on the place after all these visits. Check it out once, twice, or thrice and at some point hopefully you write up a review yourself!
