On the Grid : Jerusalem Kebab

"This is not just any kebab shack. This is the best kebab shack in Stockholm. Offering very little else than kebab and falafel, plus a tasty balaclava for dessert, it’s a place good for any time of the day or night to get your belly full! Don't forget to say "blandad sås tack"(mixed sauces please). The interior looks like it should, extremely boring but very functional. So we didn't include it but if you want to go there and photograph it for your local pop fanzine feel free!" - Snask

Absolutely loved this place! The food was full of flavour, especially the falafel, which were some of the best I’ve had. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt cozy and authentic. You can tell a lot of care goes into everything they do. Highly recommend if you’re in Gamla and craving something fresh and delicious!

My wife and I visited Jerusalem Kebab in Gamla Stan, Stockholm, and were thoroughly impressed. We ordered the fries, veggie platter, and veggie pita bread, and everything was absolutely delicious! The veggie platter was a standout, offering a diverse and fresh selection of ingredients. The pita bread was perfectly soft, and paired with the hummus and fresh vegetables, it made for a delightful meal. The fries were crisp and well-seasoned, complementing the rest of the food nicely. The portion sizes were generous, and we left feeling completely satisfied. The ambiance of the restaurant, located in the heart of Gamla Stan, adds to the experience, with its cozy and casual vibe making it perfect for a relaxed meal. Service was prompt and friendly, and the pricing was reasonable considering the quality and portion size. We will definitely be returning! Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious vegetarian options in the heart of Stockholm.

Google
It was undoubtedly one of the top food spots in Stockholm, offering a plethora of options that were not only delicious but also convenient for takeout. The warm and welcoming atmosphere added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience. With a variety of dishes to choose from, we decided to sample a few, and each one exceeded our expectations. The chicken dishes, in particular, stood out with their incredible flavor and succulence. What's more, despite the high quality of the food, the prices were surprisingly budget-friendly compared to other establishments in the area. For anyone with a penchant for Mediterranean cuisine, this restaurant comes highly recommended as a must-try dining destination in Stockholm

Very Yummy food. Best halal option in town. My UK friend recomend it and it was worth it

Google
Fantastic food and service, very nice employees too. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Highly recommended!!! The pita kebab with chicken and beer was great! Try the hot sauce on your pita and some of the sauce on your fires. Seating is very limited, but we are in the open area chairs just outside. Watch your head when you walk in an out, the door is extremely short like it was built for a hobbit!

Yelp
Remember steak umms? I rather have gotten those. Here they use microwave to warm the food so pretty much the same thing. Not much to say but 10 dollars for a pita wrap of something you only eat because you paid for it. I recommended you consider getting some local fare for a few extra coins.

Yelp
Considering it is a busy area the food was very good and the price wasn't bad either. Cashier was friendly, restaurant was clean and the food came out fast.

Yelp
We chanced upon this cafe and decided to give it a try: no regrets! Portions were huge and yummy, prices were inexpensive. Service was fast and the owners were friendly and kind.

Yelp
As other reviews said, you likely wouldn't just stumble upon it, but easy enough to find w/ google maps. Very reasonably priced for Gamla stan, and good if you're in a hurry. Can't speak for nice weather, but in the winter, the ambiance is nothing to be excited about. It's a tiny all-bar seating area, and was a bit awkward to sit & eat there since we were the only customers w/ the lone employee sitting behind the counter. It was a little unusual to see him pull out a bin of frozen french fries right as you order them (they tasted fine, it was just weird to see the 'before' state). Pita and wrap were both tasty, and there are lots of fixings to choose from!

Yelp
Great place right in the middle of a trendy area of Stockholm! A great selection of middle eastern style foods, such as falafel and all sorts of kebabs, served with fresh salad, rice or fries. The food came quick - no more than 2-5 minutes in a size that one can't possible eat in one sitting! Tap water is complimentary, there is an outdoor sitting, however, no toilet:(

Pradip S.

Yelp
Good food. Fast service. Enough vegetarian options. Nice place for lunch. French fries were cold

Yelp
This is one of the best middle eastern food store. Their Kebab is soft and juicy. Their farafel are crispy and rich.

Yelp
I was visiting Stockholm with my family a couple weeks ago and we were exploring Gamla Stan looking for a place to grab a quick dinner. The way the city is structured is there are a lot of buildings tightly packed together with alley ways going between them. If it wasn't for Google maps, we wouldn't have been able to find this place. It's located through an alley way, off the beaten path. When I walked in, I was surprised at how small the place was. There's about 4 - 5 seats with a tiny table, a counter where they prepare the wraps and a kitchen in the back. We ordered falafel wraps (3), a veggie plate, and fries on the side. Since the place was small, food was made to order and arrived fresh and hot. The falafel wraps were great, full of lettuce, tomato, pickles, 4 falafel balls, garlic sauce and hot sauce. They held together well (super important when you have to eat on the go) and they were filling. The veggie plate was delicious! It came with falafel, fried veggie fritters, stuffed grape leaves (dolmades), some other fried veggies, rice, salad and hummus. The fries were also special, they had seasoning on them that made them just that much better than plain ol' fries. Overall a nice meal in Stockholm and fresh and light enough to keep us going. The owners were also super nice and gave us extra hot pickles when they noticed we liked them!

Yelp
We had a bit of trouble finding this place. It is located on one of the very small side "streets" that runs between two large shopping streets. The place is tiny. There isn't much indoor seating, but they have several tables in the square outside. Food was good. Happy with our choice.

Yelp
Ahhh so yum! It was so busy and the staff are so friendly. Much better than most of the other kebab places you see around the city. The pita and the dips are very good. I would totally go back next time I find myself in gamla Stan. There is limited seating so take it to go and enjoy a nice picnic with your yummy food(-:

Yelp
Who knew that Gamla Stan would have such a nice Middle Eastern falafel cafe? I'm so glad that I happened down this little lane to find Jerusalem Kebab. It has one of the best meal values in what otherwise seems a very touristy and pricey area. They pack their sandwiches with as many toppings and veggies as you want. The falafel pita was a filling and tasty option, for only 60 SEK. I would definitely return again, but the interior is tiny, so you may find it more pleasant to take things away.

Yelp
Food is generous, fast and fresh made to order. I ordered a pita, fries and drink for 100kr, which is cheap for Gamla Stan. The staff is friendly. Not too much seating room but they do take away.

Yelp
The best kebab and hands down the affordable place to eat in the old town. Be smart and skip every dish that have chicken. I've tried all of them and... nope, not good. Around lunch time you can plan that you need up to 15-20 minutes to get you food. Have something like 14 seats inside.

Yelp
Food was great and inexpensive comparing to the restaurants in the area. The staff was very friendly. I recommend this place.

Yelp
I kept walking past the alley where this Kebab place was located and even walked past this cafe a couple of times, not sure if I should stop in or not. I was intrigued, it just looked kinda cute and a possible "find". It might have even qualified as stalking, I'm not sure. I'm here on business and can eat pretty much where I want, but have tired of the expensive meals. Something inside me is starting to protest against paying so much. So, yesterday, I decided to try this place out. Sometimes, I settle into going to the same place where I always get a good meal. So, from time to time, I really need to force myself to try new things. So I put my big boy pants on and walked on the wild side (in other words, decided to forego the restaurant where I know I'll get a good meal for a small fortune and try this little cafe). I ordered the beef kabob dish (to go) and went back to the Sheraton to eat. I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was good...loved the sauces btw. Before I left, I chatted with Khalid, the guy behind the counter and discovered that he lives in the same town as our subsidiary that I'm here to visit. He was a great guy. He did heat something up in the microwave, but I didn't notice are really care what it was. Must have been the beef. I gotta say, at 80 sek, it was much cheaper that my normal meal cost and it was really good. I paid more for 2 beers than this tasty meal! What's up with the expensive alcohol here? Seems almost like a tourist tax. Anyway, Khalid was a great guy, the vegetables looked really fresh, and the food was good. I found my go-to place when I just want a less expensive, fast, and tasty meal. I don't know why, but that makes me happy :) PS...I'm still looking for my go-to pizza joint here. I've seen what appears to be great pizza joints on Yelp, but haven't really hunted them down. Time to hunt me thinks.

Yelp
Food is amazing, had the beef kebab, was fantastic, I would definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Lovely little cafe in beautiful old town! Good food, great service & good value. The chicken wrap is well worth it.

Yelp
Perplexed by the reviews. We just ate here. Got two donors and a chicken plate. Probably one of the most lack luster doners I've ever had. Maybe you have to get falafel here? I don't know. The wraps taste like raw whole wheat. None of us finished. Can't recommend.

Yelp
i am an American Christian who was travelling and wanted middle Eastern food. I had grown a full beard by this time and since it was winter, had a black fleece watch cap that looked like a kippa. I did not know that I had crossed a line by settling down to eat in a "Jerusalem Cafe" (I understand now). Nevertheless I was treated with respect by the owner, especially after I took off the cap and started speaking English to my wife. I am glad I did not wear anything that looked like tassels (tikrit).

Yelp
Lovely gentleman was highly accommodating and stayed open later to ensure me and friends were taken care of. Food is yummy as well. More small businesses in old Stockholm please.

Yelp
hole in a wall i should say literally. super small place in an alley - i'd miss it easily at night. great food, friendly owners. cheap french fries! hauhauhaha! however they don't serve lamb.. boo hoo! hpwever beef and lamb are still awesome. i'd say chicken is more fragrant than beef, but they are both fine! since place's rather small, watch out for smelly coats and clothing.

Yelp
I highly recommend Jerusalem Kebab. The chicken kebab melts in your mouth and it is very relaxing to eat outdoors in a historic area of Gamla Stan. When I'm in Gamla Stan I always visit this place. On my last visit with my wife, I walked away and realized 5 minutes later that my wallet was gone. To my relief I had left it at the restaurant and the owner kept it safe for me. I couldn't thank him enough because I had credit cards, driver license and plenty of money in it. My trip had just begun and losing the wallet would have been an awful experience. Thank you Jerusalem Kebab!

This is really good Mediterranean food at a reasonable price. The baklava is really good too.

Yelp
Great food in a great location for an affordable price. Service could be better though.

Meryem B.

Yelp
Really nice and friendly place, I paid 100 krona for a complete meal, while all the other places around the Nobel Museum are super touristic and expansive.
