Yelp
I kept walking past the alley where this Kebab place was located and even walked past this cafe a couple of times, not sure if I should stop in or not. I was intrigued, it just looked kinda cute and a possible "find". It might have even qualified as stalking, I'm not sure. I'm here on business and can eat pretty much where I want, but have tired of the expensive meals. Something inside me is starting to protest against paying so much. So, yesterday, I decided to try this place out. Sometimes, I settle into going to the same place where I always get a good meal. So, from time to time, I really need to force myself to try new things. So I put my big boy pants on and walked on the wild side (in other words, decided to forego the restaurant where I know I'll get a good meal for a small fortune and try this little cafe). I ordered the beef kabob dish (to go) and went back to the Sheraton to eat. I was pleasantly surprised. Everything was good...loved the sauces btw. Before I left, I chatted with Khalid, the guy behind the counter and discovered that he lives in the same town as our subsidiary that I'm here to visit. He was a great guy. He did heat something up in the microwave, but I didn't notice are really care what it was. Must have been the beef. I gotta say, at 80 sek, it was much cheaper that my normal meal cost and it was really good. I paid more for 2 beers than this tasty meal! What's up with the expensive alcohol here? Seems almost like a tourist tax. Anyway, Khalid was a great guy, the vegetables looked really fresh, and the food was good. I found my go-to place when I just want a less expensive, fast, and tasty meal. I don't know why, but that makes me happy :)
PS...I'm still looking for my go-to pizza joint here. I've seen what appears to be great pizza joints on Yelp, but haven't really hunted them down. Time to hunt me thinks.
