We stayed at this hotel for five days. The price was reasonable compared to other options in the area. It’s located about a 30–40 minute walk from the city center, which was manageable for us.
Overall, the hotel is decent and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful — I’m very grateful for their assistance. Our room faced the courtyard, which was quiet and peaceful. However, it turned out to be a smoking area, so we had to keep the window closed most of the time, which was a bit inconvenient.
Breakfast was a traditional Full English. It was fine at first, but after several days we really wished there were more options or some variety.
The room itself was clean but quite small for two people. There was also a persistent buzzing noise — possibly from the pipes — which made it hard to sleep if you’re sensitive to sound. One of us was fine, but the other had trouble sleeping. When we mentioned it to the receptionist, she couldn’t explain it but did offer to move us, though it was already our last night.
One more thing to note: our room was on the first floor, and in the mornings, all the kitchen smells would come in, making it hard to breathe.
In summary: friendly staff, decent location and cleanliness, but a few things could be improved for comfort.
