Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal - South Jetty

I have visited here without any plan but only with hope for snorkeling. It was 1pm around. And I made it. I bought the ticket and ahead to the first-island. It was 45 RM for boat and 25RM for entrance of island, national park. Great experience and joy.

This place seems disorganized at first but they’re very helpful. I paid 65RM to do 3 islands- Mamutik (skip!), Mamukan (nice), Sapi (skip unless you want to snorkel only). The islands feel very dead, they’re really only for snorkeling and swimming so you definitely don’t need a whole day between them! 30-60 mins each is more than enough!! I came back early but enjoyed the ferry rides and Mamukan, just had too much time in each for a non snorkeler. So that’s the reason for 4 stars, they should be more transparent that for don’t snorkel you don’t need that much time.

Walked to ferry terminal from cruise ship. Walked inside the staff helped us with paying for our island hop. We wanted to snorkel so they suggested Mamutik Island. It cost us $45 there money for 1 and they take credit cards. Then they told us to go to the red tour guide Long Beach. We signed our names in and wrote down our passport numbers. They gave us life jackets with their name so they can identify there clients. We waited about 10 minutes then boarded the boat. It took about 10 minutes by boat. Then you pay an entry fee ours was $45 there money for 2 adults, which you can pay with credit card. The one snorkeling spot in front of the resort was a little stored up from the waves but there are lots of fish and coral. We moved to the other side where it was much clearer. It's not that deep about 3-6' where you snorkel. Lots of fish and coral. Highly recommend coming here. You tell the guide when you want to be picked up. Last ride back is at 4pm.

As mentioned by the other reviewers; a simple ferry point with operators to help organise your day island hopping trips. Went there at 9am to book next day tickets and there was no crowd. Appreciate the easy facilitation- just go to whichever counter you’re comfortable to discuss the price, timing and routes that you’ll take. As a solo traveller found this helpful as they could squeeze and find space for 1 pax, where usually online would require minimum 2 pax to go.

Beautiful shore, but full of plastic waste. ☹️ We chartered a boat for the 10 of us under the name of Classic. We went to the Mamutik and Manukan island, but the boat was not there when we wanted to go back to the terminal. We waited for 1 hour under the scorching sun. Mamutik and Manukan island are good spot for snorkeling and diving. Make sure you took the water sports package in the ferry terminal, because it costed cheaper there. The cost of the tickets for one whole boat which can fit 10 people was MYR 380 for two island (tickets for entrance included). But the entrance there asked you to pay another fee, but not so expensive)

Jeselton Point was the worst. It felt like a wild jungle. I booked an island tour at counter #7, Sunny Rainbow Tours. On the booked day, I arrived on time as agreed. Then it started raining. Because of the rain, there were no boats available to depart. The staff only told me to “just wait,” but no matter how long I waited, the boat never left. When I asked the port staff, they told me that boats would not depart today and that I should get a refund. So I went back to counter #7 at Jeselton Point and asked for a refund, but the staff yelled at me. The service was terrible, and I had to argue with them. They aggressively approached customers when selling, but when it came to refunds, they were irritated and rude. In the end, I couldn’t get a full refund and lost a lot of money. 1. There is no fixed price. The staff just charges whatever they want. They start by quoting an extremely high price. 2. Haggling is very stressful. 3. Refunds are difficult when unexpected situations happen. 4. Staff are unfriendly and provide poor guidance. After booking, the service is the worst. My advice: book your tour in advance. Paying a little more is worth it for peace of mind throughout your trip.

One of the best places for island hopping in Kota Kinabalu. Easy access to boats heading to nearby islands, with organised counters and clear options for different packages. A convenient starting point for a great island-hopping experience.

Approved tourist place for island hopping. Prices have been increased to rm45,55,65. Best to get snorkels and life vest at the jetty for a fixed price before going to islands, if you were to go snorkelling. Total local price for 2 islands would be around rm85.
