Jetwing Vil Uyana

We had a peaceful stay at this hotel in Sigiriya, located close to the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress. The natural surroundings were beautiful and calming. The rooms were clean and comfortable with garden views. The swimming pool was refreshing after climbing the rock. Staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about local attractions. Breakfast was delicious and energizing before our sightseeing. This hotel is ideal for travelers exploring Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle.

Staying at the hotel was a truly lovely experience. The setting is picture-perfect, in the sunshine or the rain. The staff are attentive, kind and accommodating (our personal butler Ravi was especially fantastic at looking after us). The food is excellent with plenty of choice. There are convenient golf carts to get you around if your room is slightly further away from the reception. The hotel also has a great gym and plenty of wildlife to enjoy.

Jetwing Vil Uyana is an absolute dream. The photos included on their website do not capture the essence of what you will experience during your stay. Jetwing is located 5 minutes drive off the main tourist strip, creating a peaceful and undisturbed atmosphere. Upon arrival, my mother and I were welcomed to the library for a welcome drink where we immediately burst into tears, overcome with emotion by the tranquil scenery that is Jetwing. Service was perfect, all of the lovely staff were incredibly welcoming and kind, and not a single need or request was missed. We stayed in Jetwing’s most superior dwelling, which was fitted with a private pool and outdoor furniture, a spacious bathroom including a spa bath situated in the downstairs space, and a luxurious king bed in the upstairs bedroom. Every amenity you could possibly need including citronella oil are all provided. I would still recommend bringing mosquito repellent with 80% deet - for someone who is a mosquito magnet, I have not had a single bite, but am very compliant with daily repellent applications. All of the tourist attractions of Dambulla and Sigiriya are easily accessible via tuk tuk or private car, which Jetwing can organise for you upon request. I can also highly recommend walking throughout the Jetwing property to enjoy their gardens, private farm, and the native animals that live within the grounds. If you are seeking restoration, luxury, and a little bit of glamour, look no further than Jetwing Vil Uyana. We started our honeymoon at Jetwing Vil Uyana in Dambulla and stayed in a Paddy Dwelling with a private pool. It was such a peaceful way to begin the trip. The whole property feels like it belongs to the landscape. It’s set right in the marshland, so everything feels open, green, and very private. Our cottage was spacious and beautifully done. The private pool was a lovely addition. Because of the natural setting, there was sometimes a bit of foliage in the water, and we did notice a few insects and even frogs on occasion. That’s honestly part of staying in a marsh ecosystem. The pool wasn’t heated either, but it didn’t really affect our stay. Service was genuinely excellent. Our butler, Nandanan, was always quick to respond and very warm in the way he handled everything. We preferred having breakfast in our room, and it was always arranged exactly the way we liked it, neatly presented and very hygienic. Food here was actually the best among the first three hotels we stayed at. The vegetarian options were generous and thoughtfully prepared. They never made us feel like our preferences were difficult. They had decorated our room for our honeymoon and surprised us with a chocolate cake when we arrived. It was simple but very sweet. Overall, this was our third favourite property out of six. But in terms of food and the nature experience, it really stood out.

We absolutely loved our stay here! It was out of this world - it’s incredibly peaceful with noises only being those of the animals around you, in our case monkeys, peacocks and various insects - glorious!! It’s a genuinely eco friendly location, which is great to see. |You really are staying in a rain forest!||The Retreat we stayed in had its own pool and was beautifully looked after, and had all the luxuries you would expect (large bathroom, exceptional shower, lovely products, great tea and coffee making facilities) plus a turn down every evening. Really good WiFi and a tv in your room if you feel the need to watch any. The food was fabulous with lots of choice. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. ||Great location for safari’s, Dumbulla Temples and Sigiriya Rock hikes.

We had the most wonderful stay here! The rooms are designed to a very high standard, the views over the lake from the restaurant and library are stunning and around the property you can see the paddy fields. Prasaana did everything to make our time at Vil Uyana comfortable and enjoyable. He ensured we were well fed at every meal, gave us a private tour of the farm where they grow their own produce and buggied us around whenever we wanted. Unfortunately, we were not notified that the surrounding area of the garden view rooms had been affected by the cyclone, therefore, we did experience some disturbance at this time due to works, however, after speaking with the hotel they rectified our concerns instantly. The garden view rooms has a private pool and a beautiful outdoor shower and bath, provided with bath salts and bubble bath. A dream! Highly recommend this hotel! the paddy rooms and lake view rooms look very tranquil.

We did the bird walk with Bandara and loved every minute and learned so much from our wonderful guide. Truly a great and very worthwhile experience - highly recommended! The hotel itself is in a spectacular setting, surrounded by water, trees, flowers and wildlife. A true nature paradise. Staff went out of their way to be helpful, friendly and accommodating.

This was the perfect place to start our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left the experience was 10/10. The whole team were amazing and our personal butler Hirusha ensured that every detail was taken care of. The views are breathtaking, the villas are stunning, the atmosphere is tranquil and the food is exceptional.
