When you're 45 years old you hardly appreciate hostel bunk beds, shared rooms, small bathrooms, BUT, I was chaperoning my teenager and she didn't complain that much. I appreciated the gluten free options at breakfast, but not too much diversity in terms of fresh vegetables (must be a cultural aspect), and the sports youngsters needed better nutrition overall. Our gluten free dinners were very good, the staff very helpful. The noise from the other rooms and from the street (busy highstreet nearby) made it very hard to get some sleep.

Lovely place. Matresses a *bit* thin, but otherwise flawless hostel stay. Breakfast is standard hostel fare - bread, ham, cheese, cereal, jam and choco spread. Tea and coffee of course. Nice to see everyone bussing their own tables in the true hostel spirit. WiFi was strong and reliable. The shower heads are fixed, which is a pain, but you can understand it given how much it would complicate things to have hose showers! No doubt one of the bast things about this hostel is the location which can't be beat. Tip: get the 5 bus from the station - it doesn't look far but with luggage the bus is much easier. And Cafe den Artiest is just doors away - give it a try and lift a keyte for us!

Overall Atmosfere in the hostel ||On my birthday I came back to this hostel to relax a bit. When I asked the lady at the reception while half-joking if they offer a discount or something for a birthday? I got a dry answer back saying: 'no, that's not how it works in the world sort of comment'. |Well, then it's time to innovate and follow the real world where it's common.||In addition, something nice for the guests. Just like with other hospitality partners. |Can provide more atmosphere, conviviality and people, especially in more calm periods where their are less guests. ||Spreading Positive Vibes and attracting more people and not scaring them away ;-) Just saying :-) ||After this stay, I looked for a hotel myself to give my birthday something extra. This was very successful!||So here you go my suggestion(s) ||(sidenote: very cold in the rooms but that is subjective)

The staff were super welcoming! The room was spotlessly clean -- I loved the layout with the counter space, the sink & the toilet/shower. Amazing showers, wow! I thought the locker set-up was brilliant & easy to manage! I would definitely recommend!

small room with bad matrasses, very thin and bad cusions on the beds. Noisy, no glass for drinking water or taking medicins. Breakfast is very cheap... Supermarket bread of poor quality, banana's cut in 2 (!), bad coffee that tastes like chocolade but nut like coffee. Lees value for your money!

I had a really good time at the hostel. The location was amazing, everything is really close. The staff was super friendly and always ready to help. The rooms were clean and comfy, perfect for a good night's sleep. I loved how eco-friendly the hostel was, with recycling bins everywhere. The breakfast was yummy, and there were lots of cool places to explore nearby. I highly recommend it for a fun and enjoyable stay!

Google
great Hostel in Oostende, Belgium with excellent style, facilities, value and breakfasts. staff are brilliantly helpful and committed, help with bike storage etc. one thing though is that in the morning things are shut up and inaccesible in the common areas till well after 7am, which was an unwelcome surprise.

Nice rooms, clean and spacious. However very bad communication with the staff regarding the check in time and no flexibility if the traveller's train arrived after 23.00. They should state in beforehand that you cannot check in after 23.00 or be more flexible (e.g. extra fee). Good location.

Yelp
Clean hostel with comfy beds, VERY close to the beach. There is a big supermarket just a minute away. Hostel is part of the Hostelling International network. Free breakfast (quite good, slightly above average compared with other Western European hostels). But couple unexpected rules: - no mixed dorms (only female/male) - no towel rentals - checkout at 10 AM! - early: 7.30-9.30
