Great, central location for cheap price. Bathroom in room. Small fridge was shared in the hallway for the floor. No elevator. We were in a 2-bed room which was two bunk beds where the bed was lofted above a small seating area with a table.

I have never stayed in such a small single room before - and I loved it! The furniture was cleverly arranged with a top bunk bed underneath which you had a little seating spot with a cushion, a wardrobe, a fridge (witj complimentary water, a kettle (with complimentary tea) and a hairdryer. The bathroom was practical with shower, sink, toilet and free shower gel/shampoo and had a window to the back of the building. It was very quiet and I slept very well. The overall industrial design felt warm due to dark wooden furniture.|In the neighbourhood were minimarkets, a temple and Starbucks to be found.|Cleaning was available every day upon request.

We stayed here 7 years ago, but I don't think things have changed much. The rooms are all small, but neatly and nicely appointed with retro/vintage Chinese decor. Everything is designed to look like the past so it has a very interesting feel and distinctive environment. We've not stayed anywhere else like it. Our double room was very small, but it was comfortable enough. There's no lift/elevator so you would have to walk up the stairs, but your luggages can be hauled up by a pulley system they have in place so that you don't have to do the heavy lifting. Overall, it's a nice hotel that's simple, but unique and best of all, it's very centrally located.

Great location very close to Dihua Street where there are many shops in pretty antique buildings selling all sorts of things from handicrafts to dried seafood. The room is tight but sufficient for a short stay. Love the high ceiling which gives a sense of space. And great value. Definitely recommend

DO NOT STAY HERE 🚨BED BUGS!!!!!🚨 We tried to stay here a few days ago and always check the beds first thing. The bed was COVERED in stains and we found exoskeletons in the creases. We informed the owner and he did not act shocked just asked to move us to another room. If theres bed bugs in one room they are in them all! we left without a refund.

Paul was an incredible host! Did everything he could to ensure we had a great stay in Taipei and his English was perfect. He even went to no end to help me when I lost my phone (calling bus companies, taking me to the police station etc). The rooms were wonderful & cute, the shower was great and the location was prime! Highly recommend here when staying in Taipei

Enjoyed my stay at a very nice hotel near Ximending. The hotel is special with a rich history reflected in its thoughtful decorations on every floor and room. Despite the old building and district, the hotel appliances are new and in excellent condition. It's very clean, and the owner is super friendly and speaks English. The high score on booking platforms is well-deserved. The price is quite good for the area. Recommended!

I highly recommend you to stay here!! I stayed with my partner two separate times during our short 1 week vacation in Taiwan. The owner (?) was kind and personable. There was also an issue with my reservation on Booking that they personally took care of and immediately accommodated (even at a late hour and my lack of initial communication). They also kindly arranged a taxi for us because we were leaving at 4am for the airport during our last stay. An important thing to note (as said by others) for everyone, considering we each have differing abilities, there is no lift/elevator and some of the steps are rather steep. Further, there seems to be a discrepancy between the two rooms we stayed in as well as with photos shared on here by others (our second room had no fridge and was significantly smaller - a bit of a squeeze for 2 people to maneuver around). The sidewalk can get quite dark if you arrive at night, but the neighbors are nice and may direct you. The location is very convenient as multiple bus stops are located a few minutes away as well as a famous old-town district! I recommend getting an herbal drink from the traditional medicine shops and taking a walk around. There’s a family mart slightly across the street from the hotel or a more local (?) shop for immediate essentials! You may have to frequently walk through a temple that the sidewalk goes through to get to/from the hotel, but I would bow my head respectfully every time though it also being a casual hangout spot for the older locals. The hotel’s decoration and overall aesthetic is a beautiful mix between retro and traditional. It’s an older but well maintained building; the rooms are very clean and well sealed up to prevent any critters/bugs. The shower is not separate from the rest of the bathroom, which has me suggest they switch from disposable slippers to reusable rubber ones as it got dangerously slippery after showering to get to the sink/toilet. However, it’d dry overnight! The AC worked like a charm, which was a haven from the August heat outside. They also had umbrellas to borrow for the typhoon/rainy season! Again, thank you for everything! We would definitely stay again! :-)
