Awesome place we discovered recently. Really friendly atmosphere thanks to Phil, the bartender/proprietor. Cocktails were on point and good beer selection. We had the shrimp, sausage and steak tacos. All were really delicious. Highly recommend if in the area. If we lived here, probably be the go to spot.

What a great experience! I come here on a Friday night before I head to another event and meet a wonderful bartender/owner. He introduced himself and gave me a drink on the house and continued to give great service the rest of the night. I definitely recommend visiting here to just meet Phil and to have a great time.

We love love this this little bar. It feels like you are somewhere else. The tacos are so good, and they have a huge selection of hot sauce, which I love! I love spicy foods! Everytime my husband and go......Phil makes us crack up.....he's so funny and so nice. I think he's the owner. He's so welcoming to everyone that walks in. I always love coming back to this bar....♥️♥️

This great little place opened up near my home just a few months ago. I stopped in the other day and, like every other patron who came in, was greeted very warmly by the bartender/owner Phillip who made me feel at home from the beginning, and served me from a few fantastic draft beer list. In conversation, I realized that my birthday was in a couple weeks and I didn't have any plans, so I told Phillip I'd decided to have my friends and family meet at Jimbo Slims. He excitedly told me he'd setup some decorations, and give me and my friends a drink special. I laughed, told him I was flattered, but was honestly not expecting much. He gave me his personal phone number so I could let him know how many people I was expecting. I show up on Sunday, my birthday, and the entire bar has decorations! Cupcakes, party hats, balloons. It was amazing, hilarious, and heart-warming. He gave us a drink special, and everyone had a great time. Can't thank Phillip enough. This has instantly become my favorite local bar.

Jimbo Slims is a no thrills traditional dive with quirky granny garage 90s nostalgia vibes. Its the best neighborhood bar with bartenders who are gems. The bartenders and regulars are hilarious, fun, and chill AF. We come back for the home Phil created, and for Andi, who makes the best cocktails and is hilarious. Definitely come here if you want a fun, magical night with cheap drinks :)

all the other reviews are true, exceptional service. Phillip the bar tender is incredibly social and makes the atmosphere fun. very cheap drink prices. shot & beer specials all night long. i had the veggie taco for $5, it wasnt something special, but it hit the spot and i appreciate the effort. the menu has something for everyone. i like that they have the top bar and then booths to sit at. plenty of games. their bathroom is a must see! the place is clean, welcoming, and fun to be in.

Wonderful neighborhood bar, the type where the bartender knows your name and your order. There are TVs inside to watch any sport available and the beers are cold with a stellar service. Great place to have a drink and meet your next best friend and neighbors.

Had a nice night after a concert with my brother :) great reasonably priced draft beer selection. The bartender was so sweet helping me pick a cider and giving me samples. When my brother left but I was waiting for Uber, but looked tired as heck bc I came after work, she checked on me and asked if I was OK and needed anything. I've lived in New York for 5 years, and no bartender has ever done that for me. Good people and great place :)

I've had my eye on Jimbo Slims for a long time since when I first saw it was a part of the upper Brooklyn Beer Book. I came here last night and experienced the amazing hospitality it had to offer. The bartender was the best part of our stay. He made us newbies feel welcome and right at home. The place had a retro vibe to it; with raised booths and hits from the 50s and 60s playing, it definitely transported us to a different decade. They have some good brews on tap and a small menu to satisfy any drunchies that may occur. We ordered the Jumbo pretzel which was as gigantic as it led us to expect. We also got the surf and turf quesadilla which came mixed with chicken, steak and shrimp. The salsa that they give you to dip with your chips and quesadilla is the bomb.com! It was just the right amount spicy and hearty. As a whole, the food was delicious. They also have a signature cocktail list that they offer. The mai tai piqued my interest, so I ordered it and met my match with this cute little pink drink. It packed the strongest punch I've ever received from a mai tai. I learned not to judge a drink by its fruitiness last night. When we closed out our tab, the bartender sent us off with two shots on the house. It was easily the best send off ever. Jimbo Slims will now be a regular spot for me!

Came here to help celebrate the birthday of a bud turning 40 (all down hill from here) and had a great time. Jimbo Slims may be small, but it's got personality. I wouldn't suggest bringing a huge party here; we had to split up into multiple booths, but it's comfortable. The selection of beer is reasonable and the folks were super friendly. Several reviews mention a guy named Phil, and I can confirm, Phil is cool. We geeked out over our love of Ratatouille and became fast friends. I was pretty hungry, but wasn't sure I could trust the place to have proper food. I ordered the pretzel as a compromise, but the quality of the pretzel left me wishing I had ordered tacos. The pretzel was actually way better than I anticipated, so if they can deliver on a good pretzel, I'm pretty sure their tacos are gonna be on point as well. If I'm in the area, I'll def be back.

What a fun place. My friend and I buzzed in here after a concert at Brooklyn Steel. We made our rounds at other area bars and somehow landed here for the remainder of our evening out and am really glad we did. The bartender was awesome and put up with our antics. The other patrons at the bar were friendly and fun. The bartender/owner was even nice enough to make a plate of chips and salsa for us even though the kitchen was closed. A lot of this bar is a complete blur as we stayed out way past our bed times. But from what I remember, the drinks were strong, the service was friendly and the bar was clean and funky.... and they were playing Showgirls on the TV. What's not to love?

You know your best friend? How they're always there to make you laugh when your day isn't going well. Always makes you feel comfortable. Always makes things better. Fuck them. You don't need them anymore. Jimbos is better than your friend. The food is great. The drinks are inexpensive. That's cool. But what makes Jimbos special is the easy going, organic neighborhood vibe. Phil the bartender is so much fun. Makes everyone feel welcome. Keeps everyone laughing. Treats everyone with respect. It's the only place I go to where I know I will definitely meet good new people and leave with a smile. It's a gem. Break up with your best friend and go to Jimbos. Or, if you have to, keep your friend and bring them too.

BEWARE OF THIS BAR!!! Went to this place last Friday 5/24 & got double & triple charged. My fault for not looking more carefully at the bill - but the slimy bartender Phil charged me for my drinks - PLUS 2 other people's drinks even though they were paying for them all night! BEWARE! CHECK YOUR BILL CAREFULLY!!!

Dang gurl, you couldn't dream up a better neighborhood bar with a bottle of ambien and a joint. Food? Bangalangin. Dranks? Good and cheap. Atmosphere? Phil. Phil. Phil. The guy is amazing. Makes everyone feel comfortable. Makes everyone laugh. And ladies he ain't too hard to look at if ya know what I'm saying. (Guys too. Think he's equal opportunity) Come have fun eat get drunk. Jumbo Slims probably deserves a 4.5 star rating as a bar, and 3.5 stars for the food, so I think it deserves an overall 4 stars. The bar staff were very friendly and I loved that the tables had Connect 4 to play. We initially came here for tacos, but were a bit disappointed to find out that they were out of their steak. However, we enjoyed our shrimp tacos, Mary's House grilled cheese, and chips & salsa. We also got chicken tacos, but there was something off about them, whether they weren't cooked right or enough or something, but we looked at the meat and it appeared fully cooked. The food came out quickly and we had a pleasant experience.

Great atmosphere and friendly service! Loved the frozen cocktails and the hotdog with sauerkraut! Great place to hang with friends!

Visited this new spot for the first time this weekend and loved it. Good prices, friendly staff, and a very comfortable atmosphere. It's a dive bar atmosphere with good drinks and friendly clientele. I highly suggest this bar if you're in the area. Pro tip: get a table and play some JENGA

Really great little neighborhood bar! The owner is very nice, friendly, and funny. I've eaten here a few times and the bar snacks are good. They have a good selection of beers and they carry Austin cider which is my favorite. Also have a ton of board games. Reminds me a lot of the old Greenpoint heights vibe if you are familiar that feels more like a neighborhood hang out then just a bar.

Guys! Don't miss this place, it rocks!!! Phil, who is he???? IDK, but you'll fine him all over the jenga tiles at each booth and reviews. My new fave bar!!! Bartenders are the best there!!!

Wandered in here after a show at warsaw. Had seen it before on my way home from work and wanted to check it out. Boy howdy am I glad I did. This place is straight out of a TV show. It's like cheers, but really gay. I'm equal opportunity myself but had no idea going in. Shit was hilarious, people were straight up partying when I got there around midnight. Phil is cool and lights up the whole place. I was serious about it being like walking into a TV show, where everybody knows your name and all that. Definitely gonna be a regular from here til always, hopefully. Looking forward to trying the food.

Awesome place went real late one night after work and the bartenders were so friendly came over introduced him self with a hand shake which is very nice to see now a days . Beers on tap were great . Also there cocktails looks awesome . The spicy margarita is a must !!! Didn't try to food but that's next on the list when I go back . Thanks guys

"Jimbo Slims"? More like "Jimbo the Bartender Named Phil is Cool". Sometimes he'll let you change the channel for the TVs, which is very nice. Also, HOT PRETZELS R DOOOOPPPEEEE.

Great new bar on Graham in the Greenpoint side of the BQE. Grilled cheese and tacos on the menu = delish. Good drinks, beers on tap.

This is the neighborhood bar everyone needs. We were in town visiting friends for a weekend and I think we ended up here 4 times. The bartender/owner Phil is pretty damn cool and made us feel super comfortable and like we were friends. He legit hugged us all last night when we were leaving bc he knew we were heading back to Boston today. Just a really great Bartender all around. Also, get the pretzel SO good. Wish we could stop in here more often. Thanks Phil!

I recently moved to Greenpoint just two blocks away from this place and decided to give it a try. I came in with my five year old son and was instantly given one hell of a warm welcome. Almost as though they were expecting us. My son immediately eyed the old-school arcade game in the corner and wanted to check it out (his first). Philip (the bartender) overheard me saying that I need to get some one dollar bills to play and said "hey man, I've got you" as he was pulling out his own money from his pocket. What?!! I was so overwhelmed and instantly knew that I was in the right place. I also began to realize that everyone knew everyone. Similar to (but better) than that old TV show "Cheers." And needless to say, the service was over the top! My son and I had a blast. When we left, he looked up at me and asked "can we come back daddy?" I said "we're definitely coming back." Btw, I got my first job working under the table at a super-popular neighborhood bar and restaurant when I was 14. I've managed two fine dining restaurants and worked in a 3 Michelin Star restaurant. I hope this solidifies my review.

Great place; probably the most unpretentious spot you'll find in Williamsburg. The first time I went in, the regulars struck up conversation and we even started playing cards on the bar. Phillip (the bartender) is welcoming to everybody, and they have a great draft selection. They also have two frozen drink machines, most recently serving pina coladas and "phrose" ("fro-zay"). They also have lots of games, including several sizes of Jenga. On a recent Saturday night I watched a stunningly handsome 30-something man defeat his scraggly-looking 30-something companion in what was probably the most legendary oversized-block Jenga match ever held. Also the tacos are bossy. Just go here and you will be happy.

I dropped my kid of for a two hour birthday party on Gay Pride Sunday kinda wishing I was celebrating with my people and worried I was not in the right place. A bunch of men greeted me while they watched the World Cup, but it was hot and I wanted a cider or a glass of wine. Thankfully my indecisive self was welcomed with a rose cider (best of both worlds) an iPhone charger to borrow and great conversation with a bartender raised by queer parents so totally cool with my lesbian self. How wonderful! It's a great dive bar that feels like community space. Good music and great people. I'm so grateful to have found this place for my two hour wait! Wish I lived down the block it would be my everyday spot!

We loved the music, tasty cocktails and nice beer selection. The shrimp and chicken tacos were great but the beef were the best and I'm not usually a beef fan. They give you a choice of 12 hot sauces to put on them. Everything is priced very reasonably - something that's not so easy to find these days. The bar is small, intimate and has lots of personality. Phillip is an awesome host and makes everyone feel at home. We'll definitely be back.

What more do you need from a neighborhood bar with a lovely beer selection and a hilarious bartender? Nothing! Very chill environment, and they were playing my 2006 playlist the whole time I was there. Wish I lived closer to come more often but will be back!

Im so happy we have a new spot right in our neighborhood! I am a local and live a couple door steps away from the new gem Jimbo Slims. Cozy atmosphere, meeting people in the neighborhood is great! Drinks are great. Bartender phill is so entertaining and just sweet. They have a small food menu but just perfect! Grilled cheeses and tacos! I recommend this place even if your not a local to just stop in for a few drinks, bite to eat and it's guaranteed you'll have a good time!!!!

I went last night for the first time. The bartender Phil makes a mean margarita and he has a an awesome personality which makes the bar come together as a whole whoever is sitting there feels included. The one very unique thing about this bar is the beautiful bathroom that was designed by the owner and partners. Literally clippings of old newspapers that take you back in time. Just do not spend to much time in the bathroom although it is hard not to when you see U2, kennedy and much more on the wall. Great place and atmosphere definitely a spot in the heart of Brooklyn that everyone should try.

My new favorite bar! It's a little hole in the wall with a great beer selection and solid grilled cheeses and tacos. I had the Mary's House grilled cheese last night and it was amazing! The staff is super chill and Phil is hilarious.

This is the greatest spot to be. Phil is incredible and makes everyone feel so welcomed. I wish I lived closer because I would be there all the time but I can not wait to come back. Hands down the best bar I ever been. Drinks are fantastic and the food is tremendous too
