Jiming Temple is one of Nanjing’s most atmospheric Buddhist sites, offering a calm retreat amid the city’s historic core. Its traditional halls, incense-filled courtyards, and hillside layout create a serene setting, while the pagoda provides classic views over Xuanwu Lake and the city wall. Even at busy times, the grounds remain orderly and pleasant to explore. Easy access from the lake and nearby wall makes it a convenient stop on a cultural walk.

A serene escape in downtown Nanjing! This 1,700-year-old Buddhist temple offers stunning city views, especially during cherry blossom season. The golden rooftops against modern skyscrapers create perfect photo contrasts. Entrance ¥15 (includes incense)

A peaceful escape right in the city, full of history, culture, and a very calm, sacred atmosphere. I went there during the summer, and although the heat and humidity were quite intense, the experience was still worth it. The entrance fee was just 10 yuan, which I found very reasonable. I bought a jade bracelet from one of the small shops inside the temple complex. It wasn’t too expensive, just a nice souvenir to brought home with. The temple was quite crowded, especially near the main prayer areas, but it didn’t ruin the experience for me. People were generally respectful and quiet. The lady at the gate didn’t speak fluent English, but she was super kind and tried her best to help. I recommend having a translator app ready just in case, but honestly, navigating the temple is pretty intuitive. Overall, Jiming Temple is a must visit if you're in Nanjing, especially if you love spiritual or historical places If I'm going back to China again, I'll definitely visit more of Jiming temple

One of the nicest temple in China that I've visited that doesn't cost alot. Entrance fee is merely 10YUAN. Architecture wise, it's a beautiful temple that requires you to climb up. Not so elderly or disabled friendly. Kinda commercialised buts that's the trend now, else how would the temple survive? There is a vegetarian restaurant at the end of the walk and price is quite reasonable. If you manage to find a tblr near the window, will have a good view of the famous wall as well.

It's a nice enough temple and it's in a very scenic location, next to the city walls and very close to Xuanwu Lake. But you can see the entire thing in about 30-40 minutes and it gets very crowded, especially on weekends. Tickets are cheap but you have to do it all through QR code so it isn't very international tourist-friendly.

This serene temple, nestled just beside the Nanjing City Wall, rewards visitors with a peaceful retreat—but be prepared for a bit of a hike to reach it. Perfect for quiet reflection or a scenic break!

I did not enter the gate but I heard the comments that the temple is not worth paying to visit. If you just want to take nice photos, can consider visit the 古城門 in the north of the temple, just 10 mins walk. You can take photos of the temple on the wall.

Beautiful place, feels very calm and peaceful here 😌 I went there early in the morning around 8:30 and only a few people were there. After 9:00 it starts becoming busier. You can buy a ticket at the entrance (10 yuan). After you enter if you turn right and go all the way along the wall you can find a pond, it can also be accessed from the top. Pictures can be taken only outside, inside is not allowed. There is a delicious vegan canteen at the top with a nice view of the mountain ⛰️ Highly recommend to visit!
