Jimmy Orpheus, Café & Bar

We had a really average experience. Ambience of the place is really nice and cozy, we liked it the moment we entered. We visited on a Saturday and the place was full. Cappuccino was to my taste and was served quickly. Hot chocolate was quite okay, not something to come back to. Our ordered breakfast was served after an hour of waiting and that too it was swapped with another one, quite a goof up. On mentioning it later, they did offer us a complimentary croissant which wasn’t fresh or crisp. We also had the apfel almond cake which was nice. Place is on the higher side of expensive. We’d unfortunately not return. And what about them not accepting cards, I fail to understand why Leipzig has so many places accepting cash only?!

Loved it. Cosy, great coffee, very friendly waitress. Interesting neighborhood. We tried the walnut pie, which was very good. And the 'Orpheus breakfast', which was also great. Not expensive. Child friendly. Hardly any room for improvements!

We had great time in this Café. The vegan breakfast is a bit pricey, but was delicious. The drinks were also good. The waitress was super nice and did a wonderful job, but they definitely need more staff members, as it way too much people for one person to handle. I give them 4 out of 5 stars because I feel like more vegan options would be an improvement, but other than that we were very happy :)

Really great café! Excellent food, folk/americana music, and friendly staff. They also have a great selection of reading material inside. Loved our time there! We definitely recommend this one.

The coffee was very delicious and a really a big cup, the chocolate cakes was testy and fresh. The only problem is that is small and the door every time that someone opened it hit me.

Only issue, the portions in relation with Price. Rest 10/10 including vegan and vegetarian food.

Overpriced for what you get there. Caffe Latte and Cappuccino tasted like milk with a coffee flavor. Croissants and jam - almost supermarket quality. No water served with coffee (just like with most german coffee shops). The thing I liked was the interior. Plus another star for being family-friendly environment.

I feel so at home here that sometimes I think this is actually my own place! Relaxed atmosphere with international & local mix. The waiters pick the playlist to their own taste and you get an eclectic mix. Good coffee anf breakfasts. Hi speed wifi!!

Went here yesterday, food was really nice, place was fairly empty. Thought I'd go again today, was with one other person. it's was busy when we went in, the first person asked if we had a reservation, we said no, she walked away from us while telling us that they were busy and they don't take walk inside when it's busy. I asked another person who was working if they have a waiting list, didn't mind waiting, and was told that they don't have a waiting list, that the only way to get a table was to make a reservation. I asked if they actually meant that if I called up I could get a reservation for later, and was told yup. So I asked for the phone number, was given it, and was genuinely about to call the number of the place while actually standing IN the place, when the first person we spoke to walked by again and said there would be no tables available all day. The whole interaction was super weird, yes I know I was speaking English and no doubt a lot was lost in translation. I was no doubt a little grumpy this morning, and yeah it did seem strange to me that they said they would never take any names, but it's Sunday, I know in Germany reservations are much more of a prescient thing than in a lot of other places, so we left. Cut to 20 minutes later, a friend we were with texted to find out where we were for breakfast, he was on his way to meet us. I told him not to bother with Jimmy's because apparently they wouldn't take any walk ins under any circumstances today.. He texted back to say not only had he gotten a table by just walking in, but he'd gotten a table for 2 I mean fair enough, if you have a policy I'm totally fine with that, yes I was probably arsier about the whole interaction than I should have been. But I sensed from the second I started interacting with the first person that we weren't gonna get a table regardless of whether there was one available or not, and that's what caused my annoyance to escalate. So to find out after I was right, that u could in fact just walk in, or wait, it was simply that they didn't want to help us out, that to me wasn't great. But hey, to each his own, food the day before was still really nice. Hopefully one day they'll crack the whole waiting list/walk in on a Sunday policy.

Best breakfast ever. The croissants were freshly baked when I was there, and were perfectly flakey on the outside and soft on the inside. There are several different breakfast plate options, as well as ala carte options. Everything is fresh and delicious. The coffee is great, the atmosphere is nice, and service is friendly. One of my favorites.
