Trying out a new place for us, Jim's Drive in. It's a real Drive in! I thought that was just there name! But either seat in our car or at outside tables! hamburgers 🍔, hand cut fries and milkshakes yummy!

Amelia A

Google
This is one of the most delicious fast food in the area. Best milkshakes

Waited over an hour for no drinks or food, it took over 30 minutes to get a waitress to come by. We had to go ask for service because they were busy and it’s understandable. This is a poorly ran restaurant based on the reviews with slow service, I would recommend the owner change it to an order and ticket system so customers aren’t watching other people get service and others not. 2 waitresses isn’t enough to serve a packed out establishment. I would recommend going elsewhere if they continue with their current business model, it doesn’t make sense and sounds like they aren’t trying to fix it.

Google
Jims Drive In is a family friendly, local eatery. The food is great, always hot and fresh. The service is phenomenal, the employees are always so kind and accommodating to its customers. There are tables, so you don't have to eat in your car for larger groups, but my kids think it's so cool they bring you food to your car! It is a cash only establishment, so be sure to bring cash!

Google
There are no words good enough to describe the family, the staff and the food here. A few words that do come to mind are: Humble, Professional, and the kindest hearts you will ever meet! The food and service make it our very favorite place to eat. This place is a gem in our area and we don't take kindly to the "Negative Nancy's" and "Karen's" hurtful words and disrespect that some have given in their reviews. I challenge anyone who complains to just try to work a day in their shoes! Betcha' wouldn't last 30 minutes in them! Hot sun, drenching rain, freezing temps....they do it all and they do it with expertise and a smile on their face. Just for the record I am not an employee, nor a family member. Just a loyal customer who will defend those I care about until my last breath! We LOVE our Jim's Drive In, and if you don't....stay away, you won't be missed!

Google
Parking can be scarce as this popular spot can get busy. In spite of it we got our food without waiting too long. The big bacon burger was indeed very big and tasty. The onion rings were battered which I prefer over breaded. The hot dogs were just okay. The service was very good.

Google
I second the horrible experience on 4th of July. The management is not prepared for quick service or to serve people at all. We waited over 30 minutes before they finally took our order. We decided after another 40 minutes to leave because our food still wasn’t ready. Dumpsters are right next to their tables, within 10 feet, and you can smell the trash, literally. The management says they never bring drinks before the rest of the order is done, which is bad when it’s over almost 90 degrees out and people are sitting in the sun. We didn’t receive anything from them except bad service, no drinks and no food. I asked them politely at their window about gaining service and we still had a long wait for a server to come to us. Their reply to other reviews says it all: they will just continue business as is without actually caring about the people they’re serving.

Google
We enjoyed the Double Ranch Burger with the super thick shakes and recommend them. Service was a little slow because they are very busy. Dining is in your car or outside on picnic tables.

Yelp
They close at 3 so no dinner hours. Could see it if Jim's was a diner specializing in breakfast or a bakery. But it's a drive-in with curb service. And features burgers, dogs, and fries. Summer nights?!? What a shame.

Yelp
I don't know how it is that I haven't written a review for this place yet, but...hello, hi, I love this place. I especially love the prices (super reasonable). Please don't change. There aren't really any drive-ins that I know of where I live anymore, so it's fun coming here whenever I'm visiting. Their milkshakes are thick + creamy and you can't go wrong with the burgers! They also offer a variety of different sides (cheese sticks, fried mushrooms, deep fried green beans, fried pickles, chicken nuggets, fries, waffle/sweet potato fries, chili + cheese fries, potato wedges, potato salad...). Please note that there is no indoor dining, but they do have picnic tables out if you want somewhere to sit and eat during the summer. (You can also eat in your car, of course.) It can get pretty packed, so be patient!

Yelp
Great!! I love an old fashioned hot dog and cheeseburger! Good Stuff while on a road trip I'll return for sure!

Jeremy W.

Yelp
The place is a Lewisburg icon. It was also on the list of the top 50 hotdogs in WV. Overall, the staff was fantastic. The outdoor seating was plentiful. The hotdogs are fantastic! They just needed a little more toasting on the inside of the bun to make this the best in WV

Yelp
We drove 2 hours because of reviews we saw online. My hubs ordered the English Dogs and a large onion ring, and I ordered the cheeseburger and a large fry. I'm not sure how small the "small" is if the large was as small as they were. English Dogs were ok, the chocolate milkshake was bland (not much chocolate flavor), and the Hamburger was pretty good. We were disappointed.

Monica L.

Yelp
Excellent food and service!! This was festered on diners, drive - ins and dives!! Every thing is delicious, you can't go wrong!. Nostalgic feel!!
google avatar

Yelp
I'm going to have to revise my review... This has always been a favorite place of mine and I just raved about it in my last review. And I'll rave about it again if they go back to making burgers the way they used to--from fresh ground beef. Today I ordered a cheeseburger, shake and fries. The fries were fresh and wonderful as they used to be and the shake was great. But the burger was one of those pre-formed frozen patties, and not seasoned as well as they used to be. Disappointing!! I hope they go back to using fresh ground beef. If so, I'll give em 5 stars again!

Yelp
Burgers and Dogs, drive in style. The food is good. The hours are a little weird, but for a quick hot dog fix, this is your place. Not sure about serving beer to motorists, but hey!!!

Yelp
Who doesn't love a classic drive-in! This is one of my most favorite places. When I am back home, the trip is not complete without a visit to Jim's. I always order the Big Jim's special, but their menu is very vast with offerings like hotdogs, hamburgers and sub sandwiches. The Big Jim's Special is a homemade barbecue pork sandwich with slaw and fries. Lets brake it down. The pork is home made slow cooked so it is tender and juicy with a homemade sauce mixed in. Some of the best bbq that I have had. The slaw is finely shredded with a creamy yet slightly tard slaw dressing. You can get this on the sandwich and on the side. The bun is toasted which gives it that little something extra. The fries are freshly cut and fried. Amazing flavor. My parents went to Jim's when they were dating, this place has been around that long. Just goes to show that quality lasts! I will warn you, it will get busy and there is no indoor dining. They do have multiple areas under shelter with tables and chairs for summer dining. The parking lot is not large, which is why it gets pretty packed. Be patient, the wait is well worth it.

Yelp
This is always a must visit spot when I'm visiting family in Lewisburg. The pro's: It's charming, you can eat at your car or on one of the many picnic tables. The burgers, hot dogs (English style!) and fries are always a winning choice. That's really what they do and do well. My Mom had a BLT and she enjoyed that as well. The Caveat: During busy times (think 12-1), the wait is terribly long so don't go expecting to have a quick meal. Be ready to relax, breathe in the mountain air and enjoy a leisurely lunch! Tips: The regular burger is pretty big and filling. Ask for the special of the day - we got a great deal. If you want your drink before your meal, make sure to say so when you order as they bring it out with the food!

Yelp
Yum! Stopped at Jim's Drive-in for a milk shake, butter finger shake to be exact! Cute drive up establishment where the waitress greets you at your car window and takes your order. Old school trays to hang on your car window and waitress wears change belt (cash only). We ordered a side of fried pickles, why not? They were delicious and the shake was a perfect compliment (sweet and savory). Shake was especially thick and creamy - could have used a wider straw.

Yelp
Neat little lunch spot. Very nice staff and very crowded. Food was ok: hot dogs were good, corn dogs good, fries had zero taste and need a vast improvement all around. Onion rings were ok. Not sure what all the hype is surrounding this place. Hopefully they pick up some new suppliers on their sides. Still a neat spot to grab a quick bite.

Yelp
Old-timey restaurant where you don't have to leave your car...this place threw me for a loop but their oreo milkshake was probably the best I've ever had anywhere. Definitely stop by if they're open!

Amanda F.

Yelp
Consistently good food. This is a very popular place and the food is made to order, so your wait time will reflect that. They have a fairly large parking area and I've had difficulty finding parking on more than one occasion, which also speaks to the quality of their food and service. We have tried several different flavors of milkshakes, hamburgers, hotdogs, and chicken strip basket. All were delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Wonderful food! The staff is friendly and fast. Food is always great and freshly made. I especially love their big fish sandwich on a big toasted hoagie type bun but better. The English style hotdogs are great and the buns are toasted to perfection. The prices are very reasonable.

Yelp
Sad - YELP said open so we zipped off the highway hankering for a shake and dog. Nobody answered the phone. Call first so you don't get your hopes up. Two people were inside but no one picked up.
google avatar

Karthik D.

Yelp
Burgers were great. Price was definitely affordable as well. The only caveat was the long wait time - I believe around 30ish minutes for two burgers, but given the current situation we're all in, it made sense. Would still go again!

Yelp
While Jim's does have a huge and varied menu (everything from pizzas to fried green tomatoes), my family is old-school. Everytime we go there, it's either their hotdogs with their home-made chili and cole slaw or one of their hand-made hamburgers and their fries or onion rings. And of course we have the root beer or a shake. It's a great place and a little bit of history in this VERY historical town. Unfortunately we don't get down there enough to have a chance to try their other specialties. However, while they have changed hands a couple of times since the Original Jim ran it, it's always been family run. In former days (the 60's - 80's), it was a favorite hang-out for all the high-school and college kids and everyone knew to cruise by there in the evenings to see everythings. My high-school class (Class of 74, Greenbrier East High School) met at Jims so much that it was chosen as our meeting point for our last high school reunion! We're having another reunion in July...... I wonder if we will meet up there again?

Yelp
Very annoyed. We drove out of our way from heading home from a long road trip, to stop here because of the great reviews and they were closed . It wasn't even 5pm when they supposedly close. So irritated. You need to update your hours if you aren't going to be open like you say.

Yelp
Best of Best Hot Dogs ( English Style) in WV a must. Homemade Chili/ slaw/. Makes my mouth water. Not low cal. Used to have the best homemade fries too! Great Burgers, Barbeque and Homemade Desserts. Full Fat Milkshakes great if you dare that amount if Lactose. Fabulous Root Beer in a Frosted Mug. Just go there.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Actually very good when they're actually open. Good, large burgers and fries that could give cool out or rally's a run for their money, neat to have a laid back place like this in Lewisburg

gibbers g.

Yelp
Very mediocre. Burger dry and therefore lacking beef flavor & that magical satisfying grease. (Yes, that IS what makes a beef burger a classic. Get over it.) Toppings were fresh and amounts adequate. Cole slaw side quantity laughable: think of that ubiquitous plastic cup that condiments are sometimes served in. Chocolate shake was forgettable. Lacked deep chocolate flavor to combat watered-down "issue" when other ingredient(s) added. Tasted like a DQ chocolate ice cream with some milk added. Servers were solid. Duration to receive burger, a ridiculous 30 minutes. Yes, the joint was busy but, 1) this joint has been around for ages and ought to know how to deal with it, and 2) two other "sets" served before me whose orders were taken after mine.
google avatar

Yelp
A must stop every time I'm in town!! Hillbilly hotdog, sweet potato fries, and a Carmel banana milk shake!! Also love their shaved ice in the pop!
google avatar

Kristina H.

Yelp
We arrived 10 minutes before closing and I suspected we'd be able to at least place a to-go order. Much to my surprise, our kind server said we'd be just fine parking for the drive in meal. They have the best homemade vanilla milkshake, french fries, club sandwiches (no tomatoes) and grilled cheese (lightly toasted). My son and I enjoy our time together talking, laughing and eating up here. It's a very special place. They added tomatoes to my club sandwich and I let our server know. She wrote no tomatoes and went back to get me a new one made. I thought it was really great that we arrived so close to closing yet we weren't rushed and a mistake was fixed with a genuine apology which really wasn't even necessary. Great prices for the food quality, always fresh and consistent along with the full experience is a must visit! Everyone here is always so kind no matter how packed Jim's can get at times, they're always close to check in on us!

Yelp
The best burgers you can find in Greenbrier County. I normally get the Big Ranch Burger and onion rings with a Raspberry Milkshake. The staff are amazing and go the extra mile to make sure you are happy.

Anne W.

Yelp
So many good things...hard to chose!! Best burgers, hotdogs, fries and onion rings ever!! If you have room for a milkshake with some of that, get one! We never go to The Greenbrier without going to Jim's...but remember.....CLOSED on SUNDAYS and CASH ONLY!
google avatar

Chari P.

Yelp
I didn't want a burger because I recently had one so I tried their BBQ pulled pork sandwich and that was very average. I would never buy it again. The spicy fried pickles were great though! And I did enjoy the fries. I had a mint chocolate shake and they threw in one mint patty and it wasn't crushed enough and l caused just a few huge chunks. So over all, I would go back to try a burger but not waste my time on shakes or BBQ.
google avatar

Mickaela D.

Yelp
I love Jim's but I never have cash so I can very rarely eat there. If they would just get a card reader they would make so much money. Also I hate parking there I am always getting trapped in. I had to stay for 45 min longer because me and my five year old got trapped by cars and couldn't get out.
google avatar

Yelp
1. Loved the old tin-shacky look of the place 2. Prices are reasonable ($13.00) 3. Food was on point. I had the footlong hot dog with chili and cheese (FYI the cheese is nacho cheese which I loved but some others may not like it on their dogs. I absolutely loved the chili too!) Along With the hot dog was my Big Jim Bacon Burger which is made to order (it was okay a little dry for my taste but not bad) Then I had a cookies and cream shake which I believe is made from real ice cream so another star for that-4! 5. The help is very sweet and welcoming! So if your looking for that classic "burger and shake" taste and just want a low key, relaxing joint. This is the place for you!
google avatar

Taylor C.

Yelp
Unique eating experience that takes you back in time. Great food and even better ice cream. Staff is wonderful and prices are decent. Try it out if you're in town!!
google avatar

Debbie A.

Yelp
The manager and staff were very friendly. Our waitress, Jessica, was very attentive. She kept our table clean and she was quick to clear away our finished plates and paper trash. When our drinks were getting low, she automatically brought us drink refills without us even having to ask. We ordered breakfast and the grits were the best I've tasted in a long time. Cooked to perfection. We would definitely go back to this location. Service was great and the food was too!
google avatar

Chef P.

Yelp
okay, so I spoke to many of the locals and this was also my older friends birthday and she wanted to eat here. They do not take credit cards/debit, only cash. I had an "English" hot dog, a "Ranch" burger and a peanut butter milkshake, my friend had the BBQ sandwich, because that is what she remembered that was good. I have to say, I was disappointed on all fronts. While the hot dog was good, it was nothing to write about, a little chili and slaw on a very small dog.? Most of the menu is frozen, processed out of a box or can. Nothing homemade. And a bit pricey for that. A real shame, I heard it was different with the original owners. I will not be stopping by anytime soon or recommending this place to anyone. McDonald's would be about the same in my book only less expensive. The sign says, "Home cooked food to order", I don't believe anything here is Home Cooked!
google avatar

Minor S.

Yelp
Get the Big Ranch Burger w/ onion rings. This burger is one of the best around, so are the English Dogs. Milkshakes are great too. Pretty wide range of menu items, even some health food. Drive west on route 60 out of Lewisburg (towards Alta) and it's on the right at the top of the hill. The girls come out pretty quick to take your order so be ready. Recently it has been really good, better that before, don't know why...

D S.

Yelp
Every time we drive by this place it is packed. We were finally able to give it a try. Good food and huge portions. We had their fish sandwich and milkshakes. Great prices. Fantastic service.
google avatar

Shelda B.

Yelp
Old school hamburgers....juicy....good...macaroni salad was just ok. Milk shake excellent...beer is on the menu, which is a good option. Outside was a bit junky, could have bigger potential for cuteness with just a little work.

Kathie C.

Yelp
Read the reviews, and stopped in! Super happy we did- got the best milkshakes, including a black n white!
google avatar

Marty M.

Yelp
We always stop in at Jim's on our travels through Greenbriar County. On this visit, my 5-year old son said "I'm adding this to my list of great [french] fry places!" And he's right, the homemade french fries and other drive-in fare is great! On this most recent visit we had hot dogs (amazing!), BBQ (always pleasing) and fries all around! Be aware it's cash-only here!

Saige C.

Yelp
My favorite favorite favorite restaurant in downtown Lewisburg!! Super friendly staff, super great food, just an all around great place. I've never had bad food here. The milkshakes are the best in town, and the ice cream cones are huge, and so delicious! We always go to Jim's when out of town family comes in. Everyone loves it!
google avatar

Jason J.

Yelp
I loved this place, from the nostalgia of a drive-in, to the varied menu, to the excellent service. We decided to try Jim's Drive-In because of the many positive reviews and because we had dogs in the car. We were waited on right away. I order the filet of haddick sandwich with fried. Served on a tray windowside, tge food was fresh, hor, and tasty. I. Highly recommend tryung Jim's Drive-In.
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
This place will always be a favorite. Perfect for a lunch, but I recommend carpooling as the parking lot fills up at lunch time. I normally always get a burger or a dog with their fries and milkshake! But there is plenty on the menu and I am sure none of it disappoints! They've had the same staff for years and are always friendly when they come up to your window! Reminder: they take cash!

Abigail A.

Yelp
Jim's drive-in is a very family-friendly place, And it has a very good atmosphere. The food is good and I really recommend a chocolate milkshake and fried pickles.
google avatar

Lanice J.

Yelp
Love it here. I always come to this place when I'm here visiting family. The food is consistent and never anything less. Love the strawberry milkshakes and how they add sliced strawberries in the bottom of the cup.

James S.

Yelp
The big ranch burger and broccoli bites are the bomb. Such a great old school feel with carside service and such a friendly staff!!!!

Opal H.

Yelp
If Anthony Bourdain returned to earth and wanted a burger in Lewisburg, this is where we would go. The ranch burger is eons away from every burger in town. Jim's really has it all, nostalgia, the nicest staff, and a classic, tasty selection of drive in diner foods. Skip the fries, if you like the crisp kind. The burger and a pb milkshake doesn't really need the fries anyway.
google avatar

Timothy B.

Yelp
Best service in town and consistently great food! Love this place! All the staff are awesome and hometown friendly! I will dream about the famous ranch burger and english hotdog when back overseas...:-)
google avatar

Christina D.

Yelp
The curbside service was wonderful and the food was excellent. We rely enjoyed our stop for lunch!
google avatar

N R.

Yelp
Great sweet potato fries and the english hot dog was ok. Heard the burgers are good but didn't try them this visit. Great "carhop" service.
google avatar

Samantha H.

Yelp
Love this place. U have to try the fried pickles and green tomato sand which. Of course the chili hot dogs with everything. Then try a blueberry milkshake. Great staff and food. Always packed with people eating and enjoying food.

Yelp
OMG, the best cheeseburger I've had since I was a child. Amazing! A rare find.
