On the Grid : Jin Din Rou

"Often regarded as the best Dim Sum in Tokyo, Jin Din Rou offers a wide selection of dumplings, ramen, rice and various other dishes. Lunch is a fair price but expect to wait!" - Andrew Joyce

We had their course menu with a few additions (mapo tofu and gyoza) and overall the food was good. The pace is pretty good with one dish coming right after you have finished your last. The food taste is good when compared to restaurants in Taiwan, but is not on par with similar restaurants their. Nothing was overly salty or bland and the food had a good taste. If you are looking for some good Taiwan dishes (and other foods) this place is worth a shot. If you're looking for a near perfect replication of Taiwan food, then this may not be for you.

Waited about an hour to get a seat. There is a long queue. Order the dandan noodles set with dumplings, luro rice inside got mixed meat vegetbles and rice, black sesame buns and shrimp shumai. Dandan noodles not enough peanuts. Shrimp shumai the texture to thick. Luro rice is not bad. Siew long bao is nice. The price is in the high side.

Very juicy soup dumplings. Regular dishes are alright, not as strongly flavored as usual Chinese food

Great xiao long bao and very good service. Food and tea were excellent. Good place to have a gathering. Enjoyed the clean atmosphere and they have a lot of seats available - even a basement area as the place is so popular. The lunch set menu is good value.

Good overall but the Shanghai dumpling may be better at DTF. Overall good - the veggies (KSS) were good. boiled chicken w spicy sauce was big Weiner. Will repeat as usual

I wanted to eat some soup dumplings and found this place. Overall really good food and friendly staff. We also tried the shu mai and fried rice. It's kind of confusing though, this is the ground floor restaurant, which is a casual setting. The restaurant next door, down the stairs is the same restaurant but a more fancy setting. I'm pretty sure the menus are exactly the same. I'm knocking off one star because it felt a bit too expensive.

good XLBs and SMs. Not cheap tho. The fried rice was good but our order had hair in it so proceed with caution lol. Overall 5/5 for ambiance and service. Great selection of beer too. 😍😍
