On the Grid : Jin Din Rou

"Often regarded as the best Dim Sum in Tokyo, Jin Din Rou offers a wide selection of dumplings, ramen, rice and various other dishes. Lunch is a fair price but expect to wait!" - Andrew Joyce

I wasn’t expecting it to be this good! This place is definitely a hidden gem in Tokyo for lunch. The waitstaff is incredibly polite, and the atmosphere is spacious and inviting. I ordered the shrimp fried rice set and added mango pudding. However, the portions are quite generous, so I probably didn’t need the extra food! If you plan to order dessert, make sure to save room for it. Overall, it was a delightful lunch experience.

Oh my gosh! We went to this restaurant for lunch, and it was the BEST lunch deal in Tokyo. It's inside the Sumimoto building. The food was so delicious. I had the set deal that came with dumplings and noodle soup. I had the spicy noodle soup. So good. It was fun trying to figure out how to eat the dumpling the right way. Luckily, the very nice waiter explained it to us. I've also uploaded the Google translated version of the directions. 😀

I had just checked into my nearby hotel and didn't want to spend another night in a hotel restaurant so wandered down the street. The smell from this restaurant drew me in (it's in a food court area so easy to miss). The service was exceptional and the waitress spoke English very well. The food was amazing and just what I was looking for after a long day of travel! Highly recommend. Menu is mostly in English!

We stopped in for lunch, and ate outside the actual restaurant in a large atrium space. We did not find English menus, but between the patient staff and Google Translate we were fine. A set lunch included amazing dumplings and a large bowl of delicious ramen. The vegetables in the broth were fresh and crunchy - so good! Absolutely better than we expected.

This was a pleasant surprise for an unplanned dim sum dinner. Great variety and delicious. Convenient ordering through an iPad like device so you can see pictures of what you are ordering. Better than my dim sum quality and experience back home.

The food was phenomenal. Highly recommend. The person who took my phone inquiry was helpful and gave an appropriate and accurate advice. She said she wasn’t taking any more reservations but if I showed up at 6:30 p.m. there should be at least a table available. It turned out exactly that way! The only setback is there’s no discount for the parking. I would visit more often if there was a parking discount. Yet, the five stars are for the memorable food.

Since visiting Taiwan I have become a fan of the restaurant and I have visited many times a few months ago this place had a manager who was very attentive to customers but now that she is gone you can see the total change in customer service I continue to visit but with less frequently because the Customer Service is getting worse and worse now the last time I visited the restaurant was on a Saturday and I sat at the tables outside my surprise was that the tea I ordered did not arrive and you have to repeat that they have forgotten the tea and to finish I had to wait more than 25 minutes for my ramen so much so that I got to the point of going inside the restaurant to find out if they had it ready and my surprise was that they had served me less portion than normal in my ramen for The rush is really unpleasant, they really should pay more attention to the service or apologize from the heart. This time the manager did not have the courage to apologize. I hope that in the future they can grow more in customer service.
