Excellent service at Jines on Park Ave—our server was attentive and friendly. The turkey and cranberry sandwich was flavorful and well-balanced. Onion rings were crisp and perfectly seasoned. Highly recommend. Loved sitting outside!

I was visiting family in Rochester, and we all met for breakfast at Jines Restaurant. It took me a while to decide what to order, as they have a very large breakfast menu. I ordered the spinach, bacon, and cheese omelet, and it was delicious. The staff is very friendly and the service was great.

Based strictly on the shake. What is this hot pink ice cream? Not thick at all, watered down, half full, and artificial. Trashed. $10 is unacceptable for this.

I ordered delivery and was impressed with food and the packing of my order. I had the meatloaf/mashed dinner and the gyros platter. Nice assortment and great tasting. Also, blueberry muffin and apple pie were good. I will order again from them.

I've been here a bunch of times (despite living miles away) because I doubt any other brunch places can be this good. Today I tried the pumpkin pancakes and they are genuinely to die for-- I hear the chicken waffles are also good, but that sounds weird ... Great service, great food, and free parking!!!!

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast today(Sunday) at Jines. We got there around 9:00, no line, but very busy. We were served water, coffee, and menus almost immediately. I had the house made corned beef hash & eggs, which was 5*. I asked for over medium and the eggs were cooked as ordered. The 12 grain toast was also very good. My husband had the mushroom spinach omelette and it was also very good! Service was impeccable - refills offered frequently, dirty dishes taken away in a timely manner, and everyone was super friendly! Thank you for a pleasant and tasty breakfast experience.

Google
Normally everything is outstanding! Today while the food was delicious as usual and the atmosphere is always relaxing and enjoyable. The service on this particular day was off putting. Started when I entered, there were two staff members behind the glass talking and engaging in some tasks which is perfectly understandable. However I walked in and did the parking thing and stood waiting for a table of one. They both looked up at me and then put their heads back down and continued doing what they were doing. Wow, I stood there for a few minutes, in silence until the owner came from behind the bar and acknowledged that I was there and assisted me. I thanked him and proceeded to have a wonderful meal! Jines is till one and f my favorite restaurants

Great upscale diner with a large, diverse menu. Delicious food thats well presented. Attentive and friendly service. Love the location on Park Ave. And they will validate your parking!

Yelp
I do really like this place, it's just a tad bit overpriced. But everything I've gotten here has been very good, the staff is very friendly, and service is quick. I got the Reuben, which is pretty much my go-to, it's delicious. I'd say sandwiches are always a safe bet here, especially since the menu is a little too big. Nevertheless, a great restaurant, and one that I visit at least twice a year.

Yelp
This place was recommended by the college kids from nearby university and it did not disappoint. The service was prompt, attentive, and responsive. The breakfast dishes were outstanding. One must try their specialties on the last page of the menu. I had the house made hash brown egg Benedict and it was great. The ingredients for the omelette dishes were fresh as I was told by my companions. We were there Monday morning and the restaurant was busy with dine-in and take-out. So, this place must have a good reputation.

Yelp
A great breakfast spot located in a cute neighborhood in Rochester, NY. My wife had the Night Shifter, a waffle sandwich with eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, and spinach, drizzled with caramel. She also had a delicious Espresso martini. I had the Combination Special, 2 eggs over medium, bacon, 2 pancakes, and a side of toast. This meal was super delicious and very affordable. The staff were friendly and attentive!

Yelp
Officially taking Jines off my list. I ordered the "eggs enchilada" which was two poached eggs on top of vegetarian chili and pita bread. Very weird and had no flavor. The person I dined with ordered a belgian waffle with chocolate chips. The chips were literally placed ON TOP of the waffle instead of mixed into the batter. Lazy cooking. He also had oatmeal, which had no flavor. We had to add sugar from the table into the oatmeal but it still wasn't great. Lastly, we ordered two alcoholic drinks. Not sure what alcohol was in them but the sangria was GROSS and the blue drink was so sweet, it was also gross. Overall, their cheap prices make sense. The food is microwave quality and the drinks were not well made at all. Would never recommend this place to anyone as there are many other diners in Rochester that serve real food for the same prices. On top of all that, there's no parking lot (though they do validate parking if you park in the paid lot down the street) and they're always super busy so wait times can be long. Idk why they're so busy considering the quality. The service was nice! That's about the only plus.

Spera S.

Yelp
This place had a funky cool vibe : a menu that was chock full of good choices . We had the Souvlaki plate and the gyro plate, fried zucchini, Greek salad with chicken and French onion soup. The Greek specialties were very good, service team was on point , friendly and helpful and quick to attend to our table. Busy place and we left very satisfied ..

Yelp
It is Saturday night date night, it was supposed to be yesterday but old man winter threw us a curve ball here in Rochester, NY. So anyway we decided that it was going to be a good night for Jine's Restaurant. We walked in and were seated almost immediately which was a good start, however we had to move because the sun was actually out and was subsequently blinding us lol! The hostess was gracious enough to let us move. We were served our waters and given our silverware as soon as we sat down which is always a plus in my book. We asked for lemons and we never got them. Not a big deal though, our waiter came like 10 minutes later and took our order. My salad came out which for me is a generous portion and my fiancée ordered the French onion soup which did came out hot. Our dinners came out a bit later than we would've liked. The waiter apologized for that and said they were backed up in the kitchen. Soooo when our food came out I ordered the eggplant parm a favorite of mine it was hot and the eggplant was crispy which to me is a good thing. My eggplant was delicious and very much appreciated by me. My Fiancée got the swordfish with rice and asparagus. The rice was good as I taste tested lol! His fish was also very good over all he was happy with it but his swordfish could've been a bit warmer. Our waiter while pleasant enough never asked us if we needed our waters, napkins & dessert or anything else. That is a not good thing but due to his pleasantness we let it pass. We are ending our night at MacGregors. But all in all it was a nice date night.

Yelp
Delicious dinner this past Wednesday! Ambiance was wonderful. We did opt for an early dinner. This may have contributed to the more relaxing feel. Alexis D. was friendly and attentive. To add, I also love that they validate parking in the paid lot. That's definitely going above and beyond to keep your customers happy!

Pranjali S.

Yelp
3.5 stars for the food, 0.5 stars for the ambiance. This is an old restaurant but I had never been here until recently! We walked in and had to wait about 15 mins before being seated. The service was very quick (almost too quick as we were asked if we were ready or not before we'd even had a chance to look at the menu). Their ambiance is fresh and chic. Their hot chocolate was pretty decent. I got the wild mushroom and blue cheese omelet, my brother got the eggs Benedict and our friend got the pancakes. The Benedict portion was very small as my brother inhaled it. It was ok to taste. The omelet was decent and pretty heavy. The best part of it was the bread, which was delicious. The pancakes were decent too. All in all, it was decent food and for a decent price. I would recommend this place for a quick brunch in a nice part of Rochester. There is a parking lot a couple of blocks away. Do NOT pay there so that you can get parking validated through the restaurant. They don't validate prepaid tickets. Otherwise, you can look for street parking which is always a bit harder.

Yelp
Looking for a local diner spot in Rochester with good service, prices, and food? Well look no further because I've got just the spot for you! Jines is a casual restaurant serving up all of your favorite breakfast classics. It's definitely a relaxed vibe perfect for a casual brunch with some of your crew. Onto the food! We ordered the Breakfast Burrito, the Loaded BLT Sandwich, the Mediterranean Omelette, and French Toast with Scrambled Eggs. With each bite of the Breakfast Burrito, the gooey cheese had a perfect cheese pull and filled my mouth with happiness. The other ingredients were also pretty standard and complimented each other well to make this a solid entree. The Loaded BLT featured crispy bacon and fresh lettuce and tomatoes stuffed between two crunchy and buttery pieces of toast. Another decent classic. The Mediterranean Omelette was on the specials menu and featured yummy veggies folded into a delicious thick and creamy egg omelette. Special shoutout to the feta on the omelette that was creamy and super fresh tasting. Last but not least, the French Toast was another classic and delicious breakfast item on the menu that we just had to try and you can get a combo plate with savory items, such as eggs and meat. The French Toast was super fluffy and buttery and paired well with the scrambled eggs. The sausage links were also a good savory pair with the entree. You really can't go wrong with this place if you're looking for reliable and yummy diner food. We came here wanting good breakfast food and we definitely achieved that goal. Expect a little bit of a wait on weekends as this place definitely gets packed, but it is in a cute neighborhood so you can walk around and enjoy the area as you wait for your table! I definitely want to return to try some of the Greek food items as I've heard good things about the lunch and dinner menu.

Jennifer O.

Yelp
You can't go wrong with Jines. Their food is always on point no matter what you order. I usually get the BLT - either the classic or the supped up one with turkey and avocado. Their French onion soup is really good too- it's broiled so the cheese is nice and crispy. I usually won't order it anywhere they don't broil it. The mimosas are outstanding and I had a cider one last time I went with a caramel sugar rim, yum! They have other flavors like pineapple and cranberry and the classic orange. My friend turned me on to their crème brûlée oatmeal! It's different and worth trying, she gets it every time she goes. The prices are reasonable and they have a wide variety of choices. Staff is nice and attentive.

Yelp
tl;dr don't waste your time or money here PLEASE!!!!! I came here with my partner for an early dinner. It didn't seem too busy yet, most of the tables were empty. After getting our menus and putting in our drink orders, it took almost half an hour for a waiter to come back to take our dinner orders, and we had to wave one down ourselves. The menu itself is way too long. They are doing way too much on their menu, Greek and Italian. So gyro meat, pasta, club sandwiches, paninis, and fried seafood, salads, and more. I got the spanakopita as an appetizer. It was so soggy, the crust was wet and hard to cut through. But the slice itself had clean cuts -- very obviously frozen and reheated. For mains, I ordered the Jine's chicken and pasta. For a dish that is named after the restaurant, you would think this would be one of the best things on the menu, a dish they might put a lot of effort into (for $21!!!!). The chicken was SO CLEARLY frozen breaded chicken that was reheated. The breading was soggy/slimey in the pasta sauce. There was nothing special about the pasta itself, could definitely get better at Olive Garden for far less money. My partner ordered a baked salmon dinner special with apple chutney, feta, and rice. The salmon seemed to be cooked well, but not well seasoned. The rice clearly came out of a packet. It had little square carrot pieces in it, the kind that come from frozen bags of veggies and rice (picture). Every single thing was topped with the same dry looking red cabbage, kale, and lemons (in the rice pic). I also got a sangria that was so watered down. Full dinner for a little over 60$ definitely tasted like soggy frozen food worth less that 20 bucks. Super annoyed. If you enjoy good Mediterranean food and drinks, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE.

Yelp
Jines is a family favorite of ours when we are in Rochester, and the location is great! Nestled right in the middle of the shops, cafes, restaurants, and bakeries of Park Avenue, it's a great place to stop for breakfast (our personal fav) or lunch while exploring the street. Inside, there are many tables and even counter seating. It feels like a diner but the way it is designed/decorated its much nicer than your typical diner. The decor flows nicely with the charm of Park Ave and the older city homes. The staff has been lovely every time we have visited and they always are very sweet and interact with our toddlers. The food is delicious! We have never had a bad meal. My husband typically orders an omelet and I usually get the waffles and soup. Every time we go my daughter HAS to have a hot chocolate lol. You get a lot of bang for your buck too. Can't wait to get back!

Stan F.

Yelp
Always great. Thanks for being there for us. Great variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Jay L.

Yelp
I was impressed with the hospitality as soon as we walk through the door. The scenery is nice and the food is amazing. Highly recommended definitely bringing my family again.

Jonathan L.

Yelp
Huge portions at great prices. And tasty too! Well worth a stop when you're in the neighborhood.

Laurie S.

Yelp
The food is always excellent! The staff are always very polite, friendly& accurate. The mood of the place is eclectic, yet warm and friendly & always, very friendly.

Ali F.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night with a friend. Kind of spur of the moment. The service was quick and the prices reasonable. I had the Greek salad and the spanakopita. It was filling. I had a choice or chicken breast or marinated pork.

Angie K.

Yelp
The waitress Ellen was welcoming and kind. Overall the only problem we had was the wait time and some of the meals need to be checked before getting sent out to the table. For example: we were told to wait 30 min and we would get a text message. I came in a little after 30 min they told me to wait. Then they called me in about 15 min later. the eggs Benedict were on the colder side.

Bob A.

Yelp
Jines continues to be a reliable breakfast destination. Even on a very busy Good Friday, they were well-organized with a cell-phone wait list and great table service. The staff was friendly and did not rush us. Omelets were huge and well-prepared. For all we ordered, price was still reasonable.

Allister M.

Yelp
Jines is an excellent spot to grab a bite to eat. The neighborhood is adorable. I love their outdoor seating. The real reason to come, though, is the food. It's always super tasty! Their breakfast is amazing! As are the mimosas. I even love to order on DoorDash sometimes when I need something inexpensive but high quality after a 12h shift. Excellent restaurant. Great servers as well! Everyone is quite friendly and accommodating!

Jan T.

Yelp
What a great little diner. I had the eggs benedict with a side of fresh tomatoes and the hollandaise sauce was savory, the English muffin was perfectly toasted, and the slab of Canadian bacon was generous. This was much better than the sloppy eggs benedict at Highland Park Diner (the hollaindaise there was almost translucent, as though made with a corn starch filler). I also ordered the avgolemono but wished it had a richer stock flavor. I'd still come back to try other things on the menu. The service from the host, waitress, to bussing staff was happy, efficient, and attentive.

Brenda K.

Yelp
It was MY pleasure to introduce a newcomer-to-ROC to Jine's for breakfast! I told her, "This is a Rochester INSTITUTION!" :) Fantastic service (as always!) All staff masked and protocoled (plexiglass at booths, no shared utensils or dishes such as maple syrup pitchers or creamers ... all so nice to see they're still trying to keep diners and staff safe!) DELICIOUS Sunday breakfast of Eggs Florentine and Cinnamon Swirl French Toast. Went early, to beat the church crowds. No wait for table! Price is right, portions huge, warm hospitality, speedy service! Love Jine's!!! Always have -- always will!

Mark Y.

Yelp
Don't worry about parking. There is a big lot next to the nearby 7-11, to the left, about a 100 yards from the restaurant. Know your license plate number and enter it into the tablet across from the host/hostess for 3 hours of free parking. Friendly service, hot food, good coffee, and fresh cut fruit stood out to me. It's a family owned business for 60 plus years. Highly recommended.

Anne D.

Yelp
Breakfast for lunch has never tasted so good. We all had different omelettes and we all cleaned our plates. We were promptly seated, greeted and order taken. It is nice to be able to share a meal with friends at a restaurant and each what each other is saying.

Lia D.

Yelp
Jines has made a huge comeback in my book. First of all, the spicy Bloody Mary is probably the best Bloody Mary I've ever had!! I got the Eggs Michelle, which was cooked perfectly with a beautifully runny yolk. My companions said their sandwiches were yummy, too. The service was also fantastic.

Kristen H.

Yelp
A park as staple. Every time I go I think of my grandfather and his love of their pies. If you're lucky you'll get a seat outside on the sidewalk if not the dining room is light and bright and cheerful. Food is very dependable - tabouli is different than what most places serve for tabouli but tasty nonetheless. Falafel sandwich was a hit at our table too

Tiffany A.

Yelp
Erica and Emily went above and beyond for our table today. We were a little rowdy but they were so accommodating, friendly & just the type of server I hope I get every time I go there! Food was aaaaamazing, Erica with her great up-selling techniques suggested I get my Homefries with bacon cheese peppers and onions. Worth the upcharge for sure!!

Derek M.

Yelp
Great place for brunch and has a big variety of menu item and the food and consistent and good. Also the service is great and fast for a busy place.

Alicia C.

Yelp
the brunch is always amazing! we have been coming here for years but each time it gets better! Christopher, our server was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE; attentive and kept on top of everything, regardless of how busy it was for a Sunday brunch.

Megan R.

Yelp
Best homemade hash... if you order the eggs Benedict/hash special, you will not regret it. 5/5 from my family!

Zaarib Z.

Yelp
Pretty good food. Really liked the hummus with the pita. The gyro meat was good too. The chicken and waffles ok but not the worst

Denise P.

Yelp
Breakfast was absolutely wonderful! Went for a walk down Park later in the evening and stopped in for a cocktail out on the heated sidewalk; love the atmosphere. Wait staff is very personable, attentive and the drinks were great. Thank you!

Frank W.

Yelp
I loved going to Jines for breakfast always a treat!! Service A+ Food A+ Ambiance.... Always comfortable and inviting!

Barbara S.

Yelp
Great service. We were waiting on someone and never felt rushed even though it was busy. Food was good but service was above and beyond.

Laina A.

Yelp
Wide variety of food. Great service. Best gyro I've he in a long while and the fries were my favorite.

Alberto A.

Yelp
Props to the staff for handling an obscene situation out on the patio earlier today. There was a woman sitting outside demanding that another table pay her food because of another situation that was completely out of their control. Despite the customer being rude and belittling the staff, the service remained professional and calm. Kudos to you!

Kat W.

Yelp
Came here on a blistery weekend afternoon and we were able to snag a booth without too much difficulty, which surprised me. Menu is HUGE and we had both breakfast and lunch options. I was surprised to see everything from bacon and eggs to seafood and Mediterranean options. I tried the chai latte as well as an omelet with mushrooms and subbed blue cheese for mozzarella. There were plenty of toast options to choose from which I appreciated. Everything was well done and tasty and did not break the bank at all. I felt like there was something for everyone there. Would definitely come back if I'm ever craving brunch. A classic of Rochester.

Deprina G.

Yelp
I always have great service when I visit here. In this day I was so satisfied. I finally found my go to meal. The hash and eggs where perfectly crisp. No fat in the mean and the eggs just cheese. The star of the day was the Apple Jack waffle. Why aren't we funding this???? It taste like amazing apple pie. Paired with my apple cider mimosa which I'm sure was more LIQUOR THAN JUICe so you know where to come. Wink wink Love Jines, period. I won't rant about how the restaurant next door closes their kitchen an hour before they close while, Jines wanted to get that money & stayed seating people up until 3pm. I fully support that.

Olivia B.

Yelp
Delicious, satisfying food! We came here on a Sunday with a larger party, so the wait was fairly long. We expected it though and knew beforehand we would have to wait so it was fine. Once we were seated, the service was quick and friendly. I tried their eggs enchilada with veggie chili. It was great! My whole party was happy with their food and the portions were large and worth it for the price! I like their wide variety of egg dishes and it seems like they have different fun specials throughout the year.

Joe M.

Yelp
Okay, found my sweet spot. Anything of the eggs benny selections, delicious. That and a 20oz space kitty and I'm, a happy guy.

Arvid Y.

Yelp
Jines is the place you bring out-of-towners for brunch to check out the Park Ave scene. Food is consistently good, portions are large and pricing is reasonable. It's a little more expensive than your average breakfast joint, but at the same time, it's also classier without the greasy-spoon feel. They have a wide assortment of omelets and sandwiches. Service is consistently good and I feel like I never have to wait too long for a table, even during prime time.

Jon B.

Yelp
Met my friend for lunch Friday at 11:30, place was jammed already but got in within 5 minutes. Menu is massive, something for everyone, so lots of choices. My friend opted for breakfast omelet, while I had the turkey club, both were fresh, hot, and scrumptious. Host, waitress, and busser were all friendly, attentive, and kind to us, Price for 2 was around $35.00 which is fair, definitely will be back when in the Park Ave area. Outdoor seating is fun as well if you like to people watch :)

Franco C.

Yelp
Updating review (5 stars now) w a few key pieces of info... 1) Their menu is all day breakfast, lunch and dinner. So, whatever time you come, they will prepare what you want from the menu. Great option for us as our travel schedule tends to land us late for breakfast. I love this flexibility. 2) After trying their Bennies last time (previous review for California and regular Bennie) we went all in for Omellettes. The Mushroom with blue cheese is fan-tas-tic. Very flavorful, lots of blue cheese in there and perfect texture. The spinach, bacon and cheese (Mozzarella, but you get to choose) was very well prepared with gentle portions of all ingredients. We also tried the veggie (and added ham "just because") and my reviewers told me it was very tasty as well (I don't eat zucchini and this had plenty of it). All Omellettes were very well prepared.. Thin layers of egg rolled in with ingredients perfectly incorporated. Each one had its own "personality". Plenty of choices for cheese and bread too. 3) We also tried the orange-filled French toast. Goodness. You get 3 but they are really 6. Two layers of bread filled with orange creme that was not too sweet and had a nice citrus kick. Favorite sweet dish. 4) Our waitress, Pipper, was phenomenal. Very attentive, friendly, great recos and perfect timing for everything. My cup of coffee was regularly filled. We were brought the French toast as "dessert" as requested. She started early, had lots of tables and had a big smile under the mask. Nice job!

Jaxs F.

Yelp
Wonder dinner at Jines. I had the tuna steak with a veggie. It was cooked exactly as I wanted it. Their menu offers a lot of choices so we have to go back again and again. We can't wait to go back for breakfast. They have lots of indoor seating. Terrific wait staff. Thanks Mickayla! There are a few outdoor tables too.

Suzanne C.

Yelp
Can't believe this is the first time I am leaving a review here as we have been multiple times, always for breakfast! This is out second time during the pandemic visiting, and both times we have sat outside. It was a bit chilly today but they have recently installed some heating lamps above the tables next to the building outside! Major plus especially for those cool spring days, cool summer mornings/nights etc! The staff is friendly (as usually) and super attentive! Our waiter made sure we had everything we needed and still kept stopping to make sure we were ok, which I truly appreciate especially since most businesses are so short handed these days! My husband ordered Benedict Michelle and I had the Italian sausage frittata, both were amazing! Our coffees were constantly full and warm, and the heat lamp above kept us cozy enough! I think I actually enjoy sitting outside when it's cool out because there are no bugs!! Win win!! We will be back again soon! PS pro tip - go early on the weekends (we were there about 9:30AM and would've had to wait to eat inside.)

Aarti R.

Yelp
Jines was able to accommodate our "quadruple date" on a Saturday morning for brunch. We picked Jines because of their 5 dollar mimosas - a necessary when dealing with that many people without coffee. Jines is a fairly priced restaurant with several standard breakfast and brunch staples. The food was of amazing quality and the service was impeccable. Our waitress even offered to split the bill by couple for us so we didn't have to fumble with math. Between the 8 of us, we had omelettes, pancakes, waffles, avocado toast, and a bunch of other things. Everybody at the table was happy with their food. We had tons of mimosas and a bunch of coffees. Our waitress checked in on us several times but never seemed to hover, which I always appreciate.

Rose J.

Yelp
Always worth the wait. Love meeting my girlfriends here for breakfast! The atmosphere, food and service is lovely.

Rob H.

Yelp
First time here, didn't wait to be seated and we were waited on right away. The staff was super courteous and very helpful with suggestions since it was our first time seeing the menu. The mimosas are to die for; we shared 3 of the flavors. I'd suggest you stick the house specialties because that's what we had however if I had the room and/or the time I'd sample the entire menu. I will definitely visit here again for brunch, and or dinner. Shame we're heading back home tonight. Many kudos to Rafael...

Fox E.

Yelp
Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got (before my meal, so-called bread) I'm still eating at Jine's on the block Used to order little, now I get a lot I'm still, I'm still at Jine's at the block Pretty awesome Diner in Rochester where they have all kinds of goodies and deliciousness. I've also been swindled I mean suede I mean persuaded (damn you voice prediction) into trying their banana bread bread french toast before and it's actually pretty good. I'm not usually into things like that but they do make a good effort with it and it's pretty unique and original and a lot better than some of the Hipster versions of itself. I still have to explore the menu more but it's definitely one of the better diners I've been through in the Manchester, I mean Rochester, area and I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Jannita K.

Yelp
This experience had Delicious food with great customer service and a great vibe! I was shocked it first time! A perfect treat!
