Google
Jitterz never disappoints. Great coffee, a step above other shops in the area. And a price point lower than others in the area. I had a matcha marzipan scone which was such a surprising flavor and so delicious!

Sarah Rowland

Google
What a fun little find with a Google search of coffee near where we stayed. It was the name for me. The scone and croissant were very tasty too.

Google
Staff was very friendly. Ordered a pumpkin spice latte. It was the best I've ever had! Wish this establishment was closer to my home.

I came in to dubuque with a craving for coffee, and usually when that hits we head over to a chain coffee shop. That is until I was told Jitterz coffee & cafe offered gluten free options for breakfast. They had a wonderful selection of gluten free muffins that I devoured within seconds of purchase and the coffee was much better than anything i could pick up at a chain shop. I will definitely be coming back again.

Google
Nice atmosphere. My wife and I really liked our drinks. I appreciate that they let me use my travel coffee mug.

Courtney Tuthill

Google
I have never been disappointed by my favorite coffee shop! Gluten free muffins (plus an entire bakery case full of other baked goods) every morning, grab and go breakfast sandwiches, quality drinks, and amazing customer service. We’re lucky to have Jitterz in our community.

Google
What a cute and eclectic shop. Great local art, out of this world butterscotch scones and coffee.

Emily Lott

Google
I come here regularly! The ladies are so friendly and welcoming! Love the art from local artists shared on the walls. Cinnamon rolls -**chefs kiss Love love my iced breve! Locally owned- Highly recommend!

Yelp
Love this place!! Coffee is very good and very reasonable. But I love that these girls know everyone that walks in the door and makes you feel at home. Scones are the best I have ever had.

Yelp
What a great little coffee shop! On our way out of Dubuque, on our way back to Chicago, we stopped at Jitterz. Cute name, cute shop, easy street parking. Perfect. This small unassuming spot was warm and inviting. Urban, rust chic was the perfect atmosphere to enjoy some breakfast bites and caffeine. It was dark and cozy. There were big tables by the windows and small 2 tops along the wall toward the back. For a small space there is plenty of seating. Plus there's a cute bicycle and a gum ball machine for extra cuteness. The two girls working were so sweet. They were friendly and all smiles. They prepared our coffees and warmed up our pastries quickly with a smile. My friend enjoyed her spinach and feta croissant. We both commented on its unique look. I loved my strawberry rhubarb muffin. It was delicate and full of flavor. Yum!! If I lived nearby, I would definitely become a regular. Thanks Jitterz!

Yelp
Charming shop with a lot of 1-2 person seating options. Great for conversation or studying. I stopped to grab an iced decaf Pumpkin Spice Latte on a lunchtime walk. My drink was FAR SUPERIOR to anything I've ever tasted from a large-chain coffeeshop. The barista was kind, helpful, and quick. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Dubuque.

Yelp
Coffee. They have coffee In all it's forms and machinations. They also have fruit smoothies and Italian sodas Food, not so much Great downtown building with soothing tones on the stereo. A very chill kind of place. Nice staff. Badger Bros coffee from Platteville. Great Americano. Order a triple small with cream

Ed W.

Yelp
Decided to stop for coffee this morning and thought we would give Jitterz a try. We were not disappointed. Situated on Main Street (only challenge is paid parking) in an old historic building. Interior is modest but plenty of seating. We were greeted upon entering and couldn't help but notice the large pastry selection. We had the blueberry and mango scones. They were delicious! I had a large drip coffee (Badger Brothers coffee)...it was hot and tasted great!

Jesse G.

Yelp
Good espresso and one of the few coffee spots in Dubuque where you can find fresh baked scones.

Wendy G.

Yelp
Delicious coffee and pastry!! Ive been sticking with the mocha. I do love the cinnamon twist!! It's sooooo good. I will definitely try more options. If you're a pastry person, you should definitely drop by.

MaryDan H.

Yelp
I love, love, love this space! It is so old-fashioned and cozy. Stopped by on a Sunday for some caffeine and was very impressed with the service and the quality and decent prices. if you happen to be downtown Dubuque this is the place to stop for a little pick-me- up You won't regret it.

Rachel M.

Yelp
The Mocha Latte is huge and delicious! I also enjoyed one of their freshly-baked scones. Yumm! Service was quick. Eclectic style decor.

Liz R.

Yelp
A much more authentic and unique experience than your average corporate coffee shop. I went with a regular coffee and a sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich that they brought out on a plate to my table. There is plenty of seating, but I choose a seat right by the window so that I could enjoy watching the snow outside and the people strolling by. This would be a great coffee shop for getting some work done. The music isn't too loud, nor are the patrons. It's a good blend of bustle to make some nice white noise. I'm new to town, so I can't speak for free parking, but I'm sure there is some close by. Due to the weather I parked in a metered spot right out front.

Jeff M.

Yelp
A great staple for excellent lattes. I work downtown and enjoy popping in to grab a morning drink. I would say I wish they had more expanded hours, since I do like a 3pm coffee and they close at 2. It's also a nice spot if your trying to get a table and do some work as the WiFi is fast and free.

Tim K.

Yelp
I LOVE local coffee shops and this one didn't disappoint! A hodgepodge kind of feel but honestly, it works. Not to mention the extensive amount of flavor options! Also something that was nice was the fact they serve 6 flavors of ice cream which would come in handy in the humid summer days of Dubuque. I however was just craving a nice cold brew and asked the barista her favorite flavor, she gave me three which was nice to choose from and stuck with Brown Sugar Cinnamon (which oddly reminds me of the holiday season after drinking it, not a bad thing though) Service was relatively fast and my favorite part: COMPOSTABLE STRAWS! So glad I stopped by!

Tony F.

Yelp
Favorite coffee joint in Dubuque. They sell Badger Brothers coffee, which is worth every penny.

Josie K.

Yelp
1.) single use, non-gendered restroom 2.) vegetarian options (idk about vegan though) 3.) specialty drinks, pastries, a small selection of panini's I drive through Dubuque 3 or 6 times a year and for a long time I have said, I really should stop here (in Dubuque) and explore a little. Well, coming back to Iowa from a trip to Wisconsin last weekend I had time and stopped for a latte and panini at Jitterz. The panini was pretty small, but then when I looked at how little I paid for it all was okay :) It was like a small grilled cheese sandwich. With chips or coleslaw this would be a great, light lunch. The coffee was fine. I can't really remember it to be honest so it must have been middle of the road. The physical space was somewhat inviting. It is a narrow, long coffee shop. Most of the tables are against the wall so everyone who enters passes (most) everyone else. The layout of the cafe isn't my favorite but it works out okay. The service was so-so (girl serving me didn't seem very friendly but maybe she was stressed or something, idk) but I felt welcome enough to come back again (I may have to try one of the other local coffee shops downtown though) on a future trip through Dubuque.

Wendy R.

Yelp
Came in for a matcha latte but they don't have that here. Instead, I ordered a chai latte with coconut milk and it was good. A little more on the sweeter side than what I would prefer. I got my drink in a to-go cup would have preferred a mug since I planned on visiting with my sister for a while. I am assuming they didn't ask if I was staying or leaving because they were closing in 30 minutes...

Cliff C.

Yelp
Wife and I stopped in for a light lunch. I had a cup of vegan chili. She had a half turkey panini. Vegan chili was quite a tasty dish! Nicely seasoned with an array of spices with just a nice touch of heat. Wife panini was very tasty as well! Nice place to catch a tasty lunch. Water for our beverage. Tab was just under $9! Tastes here were much better than a recent visit to a Panera (not in Dubuque)! Eat local.

Becky R.

Yelp
Stopped by this morning for a breakfast sandwich. Got an egg and cheese on a croissant, and it was very tasty. Egg wasn't scrambled fresh, but still good. The croissant was VERY good. Light and flaky, not too big or too buttery. (I like butter, but don't like everything all greasy) Also got an iced mocha, which was very flavorful, not too sweet. And a banana! I just plucked it from a bunch on the counter. Love that! This seems like a nice little coffee shop anyone visiting (or living in) Dubuque should try.

Shawn E.

Yelp
Small, quaint coffee shop located in historic downtown area. All of your typical coffee options spelled out well on the big board behind the counter. A nice selection of bakery (some gluten free, vegan) and and small selection of breakfast sandwiches made to order. Was hoping for some quiche or other breakfast options (fruit, oatmeal, etc.) but the egg, ham, and cheese sandwich satisfied our needs. Old hardwood floors and plenty of character in the atmosphere. Reasonable prices and friendly service to top it off.

JoDee G.

Yelp
We always stop by here on our way by Dubuque during road trips because the coffee is just so good, we can get a fresh egg sandwich and I just love a good coffee shop atmosphere. They do it all so well! I usually just get a latte but tried the house made kaladi flavor and I definitely recommend trying this out! So good!

AL B.

Yelp
Great local place downtown for Coffee- wonderful space-and friendly people who make good coffee drinks-hot and cold! Small selection of breakfast sandwiches- bread could have been toasted a tad more but ... No tomatoes the day I was here as mentioned in other reviews but enjoyed it none the less! Street parking- some lots and if you are staying at one of the downtown hotels completely walkable.

Ashley K.

Yelp
Best coffee and pastries in downtown Dubuque. Always fresh, and the coffee/espresso is spot on!

Michael S.

Yelp
My 2nd time here, & love it! Drinking Ethiopian Sidamo right now, & I'll be getting a muffin later. Free wifi as well. Staff was great. We were the first customers in, and we were treated well.

Abhishek M.

Yelp
Like others, I would like to echo similar feelings about Jitterz. To put it in short, if there was a Jitterz in every street corner, it would put Starbucks out of business but then we all know that's not going to happen :). When in Dubuque, please go into Jitterz for their amazing coffee, fresh baked goods, perfect portion breakfast sandwiches, free wifi, and overall chill atmosphere. I can't wait to be back.

Shirley F.

Yelp
In town visiting family but stayed at a hotel. Due to Covid, the hotel only offers gross chemical tasting oatmeal or microwaved egg sandwiches. (Yuck) and Keurig coffee or worse, tasteless coffee that has sat for who knows how long. Turned to Yelp to read reviews and chose this coffee cafe. Honestly, if I could give 10 stars, I would. We had the BEST Ethiopian light roast coffee today, a shot of sugar free caramel and a dash of cream. While waiting for our coffee order, we drooled over their case of fresh baked delights and ended up ordering pumpkin scones, best I ever had! And also got soup to warm up at home. Since we visit Dubuque fairly often, this is now " our" coffee shop to always hit up when we visit! After reading their story I know where to get these beans they used-- I would love to buy some to use at home! Best place ever! Stop in to check them out, they had a super large coffee menu, various teas and smoothies too! Can't wait yo try their breakfasts next time too!

Sage U.

Yelp
Amazing coffee and great customer service! I am so glad they have been able to stay open through this pandemic and will gladly support them.

Martha C.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere in this place! Extensive selection of coffee and tea. They have plenty of options and replacements for dairy and sweetener.

Melanie K.

Yelp
Great place! Good coffee for real coffee lovers. Highly recommend the sunrise muffin!

Chris B.

Yelp
Perfect spot for any time of day. Friendly, inviting atmosphere, original items on the menu. Great flavors all around.

Edelynn H.

Yelp
Their iced coffee is a go too. It's the perfect blend of coffee and substance. Went here after a shoot mid summer day and it was perfect. A little small, definitely a grab and tour the city type of thing, not a sit and read a book type. I still recommend fully.

Kent M.

Yelp
Excellent coffee find closing 4 minutes just across street from our dinner spot. Great service from guy manning store. Beautiful setting and location. Will be back tomorro for another.

Ava Z.

Yelp
Stopped here for some coffee for the road. Unexpectedly great iced vanilla latte! Probably one of the best that I've had. Baristas are friendly. Lots of tables. Recommended for sure!

Megan H.

Yelp
I love the options available here. They offer coconut milk, cashew milk, along with regular milk and soy milk. I have food allergies, so I am grateful for the options. They have gluten and dairy free muffins, that are also soy free. That is a delight for me, since they are the only place I've found that offers this! The coffee is good. The staff are friendly and helpful. I will be back!!

Susana P.

Yelp
I was looking for a place with free wifi and good coffee and this is the place. Plenty of outlets for your laptop. Only downside is they close at 5pm and the staff make it known that they are about to close. Other then that, amazing coffee and chill environment.

Alyson D.

Yelp
Delicious, made to order beverages and yummy pastries and desserts! Warm and inviting ambience. Thanks for having us!!

Jenny C.

Yelp
Stopped here with my daughter on our way through town and can't wait to come back next time in town for work. The baristas were super patient with my overwhelmed 11 year old as she looked over the extensive coffee menu...so many flavors! I had their "sludge" (coffee and espresso) which tasted great and got me through an afternoon work meeting. We also shared a PBJ panini. Perfection! Everyone working there was friendly and helpful. The environment was cozy and it was easy to hear each other and I could definitely see myself getting work done here as well if needed without too much noise or distractions.

Angela S.

Yelp
Very tasty lattes, love the historic vibe and the breakfast paninis were delicious...only thing preventing 5 stars was the brewed coffee...only one choice and it was a light roast which is not my fav.. but everything else about this place was top notch!

Lydia D.

Yelp
A welcoming warm coffee house with delicious hot drinks as well as fruit smoothies and ice cream for the summer months. Their baked goods are phenomenal. Try the flaky turnovers and moist muffins. Jitterz has adapted to COVID well, putting safety first and retaining their loyal local customer base.

Yelp
First time here, as we were just passing through town on the Fourth of July. The place came recommended by a woman we met at the National Mississippi River Museum coffee shop. My husband and I both had the Cubano Panini (mine with GF bread), which came with a side of chips. The sandwich flavor was great, with pork with Cuban spices, pickles, mayo, Swiss and cheddar cheese. Very good! We also had espresso, served in real demi cups, which is so much nicer than cardboard cups. We were lucky to find this great little coffee shop. Highly recommend it.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Jitterz has some of coffee and breakfast foods in the area. We love the breakfast sandwiches on croissants with fresh spinach, avocados and tomatoes. The Belgian waffle is soft and flavorful with a hint of nuttiness. Coffee drinks are done perfectly and I'm a huge fan of their interesting teas - particularly the lavender tea. The staff is warm and welcoming and we always leave with warm full bell

Kinsey C.

Yelp
I can only speak to my one experience here, but I walked away ready to throw my coffee in the trash. I ordered an iced mocha and it came without 1/4 cup chocolate syrup in the bottom. It wasn't tasty and took several minutes of stirring to be palatable. Their plain coffee was fine, but this was one of the worst mochas I've had in a while. However, staff was friendly and quick.

Maxwell J.

Yelp
My favorite cafe in Dubuque by far! Employees always smile, and are good people. The food is the BEST. I get a 'Goodfella'. It's a panini with sausage, eggs, cheese, bacon, and maybe more I don't know it's delicious. All natural. It can get moderately loud, but using headphones and computers are simply a norm here.

Chris E.

Yelp
While on the way up to Oshkosh for EAA we passed through this cute and very old looking town and vowed to stop on the way back and am very glad we did! With a name like jitterz it was calling for my attention. Walking distance from the beautiful courthouse. They had good quality coffee and when I ordered a iced coffee I inquired if it was a Kyoto or what method they use and he explained they freeze the brewed coffee and pour the hot brew over the ice cubes to maintain the acidity and more of the signature flavor. Interesting and successful. Overall a very cute shop with some seating and wifi but most importantly a friendly helpful staff. Will be back on next years trip!

Janetta M.

Yelp
Love this gem! Great coffee at a great price. Breakfast sandwich was awesome and the device spot on.

Richie D.

Yelp
I stopped by Jitterz Cafe after checking out Dubuque's Tiffany stain glass windows within St. John's Episcopal Church. I was excited to see a nice cafe with large windows and a quiet atmosphere. Quiet it was since there was no one else inside. I checked out their menu and ordered one of their unique chocolate-coffee smoothies. I can't remember the specific name of the drink, nor can I say I was impressed. The flavor was like a week-old malt shake. The barista (who I think may have been the owner) seemed to be a bit rude and was not interested in carrying a conversation. Also it was interesting because she gave me a strange look because I was going to be sharing my drink with my boyfriend. I'd recommend Cafe Manna Java instead.

Caren L.

Yelp
I'm picky when it comes to coffee and coffee houses. this place is the real deal. Awesome coffee and espresso drinks, amazing selections of syrups. Tea drinker friendly

Lydia W.

Yelp
Classic small-town coffee shop in a good way. Owner works daily and knows regulars. Great coffee and food.

Greg J.

Yelp
Wow! After visiting the Mississippi River Museum (great by the way), we chose to visit Jitterz Cafe without knowing what to expect. Fast friendly service. Delicious food and drinks. Great selection. Nice variety of vegetarian options. Generous portions. I'd highly recommend the veggie burger!

Catlin P.

Yelp
If you're not jittering, you need another cup! Jitterz coffee is an excellent choice for a place to stop and get caffeinated. It's located in a neat little downtown district within walking distance of a few neat historical things. They have quite the variety of latté flavorings. Personally, I'm not really into that, but was impressed nonetheless. If you are the type that likes coffee, so long as it doesn't taste like coffee, they can cater to you. For those of us that are coffee connoisseurs, they have also managed to cater to us. We ordered an iced coffee that was made as a hot brew put over ice cubes of a previous brew. It made for a really unique drink. This should definitely be a staple for the locals.

Alyssa I.

Yelp
Stopped here while in Dubuque for work. Lattes and breakfast sandwiches were great!
