Absolutely surreal and soulful — the kind of place that makes you slow down and savor the moment. Nestled in the heart of Jiufen Old Street, this historic teahouse offers not just tea, but a full sensory experience.
Prices are on the higher side (Oolong tea from 800–1600 NTD), and there’s a 120 NTD service fee per person — but it’s completely worth it for the view, ambience, and service.
What I loved most? The tea ceremony itself. A staff member patiently walked me through every step: warming the set, measuring the leaves, brewing techniques, and timing. Then, they let me try it all myself. You really feel part of the tradition, not just a guest.
They give you a full 30g of tea, divided into 6 neat portions — we used just 1, and they kindly packed the rest for us to take home. The included snack add-ons paired perfectly with the tea.
The table comes with an instruction card and a lovely postcard by a local artist ( i think the owner) — such thoughtful touches. Whether you’re a tea lover or just here for the view and tranquility, Jiufen Teahouse is a gem you shouldn’t miss.
