Find out for yourself the fuss over Chinese Tea brewing, and experience the “King of Teas” here! They also sell Tea Wares, exhibit Tea Art in the basement, and run a Ceramic Studio. I liked how the staff weren’t pushy, just very briefly described some basic properties of some options then leave you alone to decide. We took a leap of faith to try one of the more expensive options, and later found out we actually got the “King of Teas” 😂🤯 “King of Tea” Dayuling Oolong 大禹嶺烏龍 (ℕ𝕋$𝟙𝟠𝟘𝟘 𝕊$𝟟𝟝 ~𝟛𝟟𝕘 ~𝟝𝕓𝕣𝕖𝕨𝕤) • World’s Highest Altitude (Tea Farms): 2,200m to 2,650m (>1,000m is already classified as “High Mountain Tea”). • Strongest Flavours: Freezing temperatures almost all year-round slows tea plants’ growth, promoting concentration of minerals and sugars in the leaves. • Buttery Texture: Cold weather gives rise to thick leaves full of Pectin, which also enables rolling into tight & uniform beads. • Jade (Colour) Lustre: “Green-Style” Oolong, light oxidation to preserve its fresh, floral qualities. • Endangered Species: Since 2014, Taiwanese government has been reclaiming land at Dayuling for forest conservation. • Am no connoisseur, so will leave the jargons to the experts: “Cold Frost” (冷霜), “Hou Yun” (喉韵) Homemade Oolong Cheesecake 自製烏龍起司蛋糕: Served cold. It’s a light cheesecake but can’t taste any Oolong… there are some tiny solid bits, maybe that’s it? Brown Sugar Tieguanyin Turtle Shaped Cake 黑糖鐵觀音紅龜粿: Can’t taste the tea but brown sugar taste is strong and it has mochi filling. The dry & crunchy crust adds texture but may create a mess.

I visited this place on a moody, rainy day — and honestly, it made the whole experience magical. The ambience was warm and calming, the kind of atmosphere that wraps around you the moment you walk in. The soft lighting, the quiet hum of the room, and the smell of freshly brewed tea felt like the perfect escape from the weather outside. The service was exceptional — gentle, attentive, and genuinely kind. Everything was served with care, and it made the tea taste even better. A beautiful spot to slow down, breathe, and enjoy a moment of peace. Truly unforgettable.

The teahouse in Jiufen is truly special. The atmosphere feels almost timeless, with its warm design, and amazing teatables and views that make you want to stay for hours. The staff are incredibly kind and thoughtful, happy to share their knowledge. I learned so much about Oolong tea and enjoyed one of the best tea selections I’ve ever tried. I even forgot my sunglasses during the visit, and they were so lovely to help and send them to me in Taipei. Such genuine hospitality. An unforgettable experience.

Nice ambience and a great place to relax after exploring the streets of Jiufen. The staff spoke good English and were very friendly — they explained the different tea options and even showed us how to brew the tea properly. A lovely experience overall.

This teahouse offers a unique experience. The atmosphere is refined, and the selection of teas is vast. You can also try traditional desserts to accompany your tea. The prices are significantly above average, but the experience is definitely worth it.

Amazing tea place with their own pottery atelier. The experience of drinking the tea explained by experts taking care of every details about how to do the brewing, was just amazing. I’m a tea lover and this is just top

This is an excellent tea house with sensational quality tea offerings and just a phenomenal cultural experience that is a must try while you are in Jiufen. You are served by a dedicated staff who takes you through the history of tea and shows you how to brew your tea - all staff know English. My staff was so kind as to even taking pics and videos of me whilst I brewed my tea. Everything from the in depth process and the curated tea sets, accessories and setting really makes this worth the money. It is not cheap but is worth every penny in my opinion - there is a 120NTD service charge and tea sets start from about 900NTD on top of that. The outside tables have a fantastic view of Jiufen but the tea house also houses an art gallery and gift shop and even has an indoor koi pond - it is easy to spend hours here resting and enjoying the ambience. The staff were so lovely, and provided me lots of souvenirs as part of my purchases too which I appreciated and even packaged away my leftover unused tea leaves in a neat packet! I would highly recommend this spot as an experience as part of your Jiufen visit, it’s just such a lovely place.

The pricing is fair and reflects the quality of both the tea and the ambiance. The server was highly knowledgeable and prepared the tea with great finesse. She also shared insights about the history of the tea and explained how to prepare it ourselves. There's a charming shop where you can purchase teapots, cups, and other tea accessories. The space also features an art gallery, adding to the cozy and inviting atmosphere. This is a must-visit spot when you're in Jiufen.

Yelp
The Jiufen Tea House is one impressive multi-leveled place with a nice place to sit down for high tea, a tea tasting bar, what looks like a ceramic museum, and some pretty expensive tea pots and arts to consider a purchase. Their skill at displaying art was also most impressive. There's also a nice view of the hills and ocean from the back. On tea pot that caught my attention, was a ceramic/iron piece that priced out at 48,000 TWD or around USD 1200. It's a stunning work of art but probably belongs in a museum rather than at the house of an occasional tea drinker. A Tea House representative later confirmed the price range (the artist has more than one piece), some background on this local person, and a recommendation to pick it up if I wanted it and they won't ship this one. Maybe next year when I'm back?

Yelp
You have to walk a bit to get here and trust me you may get lost because of the stairs and mountain area. Just ask around and you'll be told/pointed to the right direction. We originally went to the teahouse that was on the busier tourist area but the waitress told us to come here for the beautiful view. She did not guide us wrong! I was a bit skeptical because we had to walk through a shop and the stairs at the side of the mountain but we made it lol. It was not a bad walk but it can be a bit difficult for you if you get lost easily or if you get scared of heights easily. The staff was friendly and we were seated immediately. We wanted something with no caffeine and they recommend the Oolong so we got that. They started brewing it with us. We were seated near the balcony/patio area and had a beautiful view of the mountain and landscape. They said it was too hot to be outside so we stayed inside. We had these pretty cakes too (forgot what they were called). We were there for a long time, just enjoying the tea, talking, going on our phones, taking pictures, and eating the cake. The cake is small but you'll see on the menu. You will spend a long time here because you can refill the tea and just chat away. I recommend coming here after you're done with the tourist stuff. They also bag your leftover tea leaves so you can take them home! :) Funny story - we left a bag of some toys we got from another store and I ran back about 20 minutes after they closed. I knocked on their front door and she was there waiting for me in case I got back. I am sure she had other things to do but she was stationed there in case I knocked. I definitely recommend coming here! Absolute treasure!

Yelp
Jiufen has so many different teahouses, but this one in particular seemed to be the most liked in terms of the actual sit-down experience, so we ended up choosing this one. They are pretty popular so expect to wait since they don't accept reservations. After grabbing your number, feel free to browse the 2 floors of the teahouse as they have various teas and tea sets for sale. The interior of the teahouse is so beautiful and you can really feel the years of history. There is also an art gallery around the corner of the lower level. Our group of 4 ended up waiting about 25-30 minutes for a table on a Friday afternoon around sunset. We lucked out and got an outdoor table with beautiful views overlooking Jiufen and the Amei Teahouse, despite the cloudy weather that day! We ordered the Fushou Lishan Oolong per the staff's recommendation, and it was light, smooth and refreshing! I've never had quality tea before, so I was surprised that the flavor persists through 6-8 steepings. A few of their desserts were already sold out, but we ended up going with one of their cheesecakes which was super rich and delicious! I wish we would have ordered more! Amazing service by the staff who gave us a demonstration in English on how to properly brew our tea. There was also someone coming by from time to time to check on our pot and make sure we always had enough hot water. If you don't finish your tea, they will nicely package up your leftover leaves for you, so don't feel like you need to drink it all in one go. We ended up buying some bags of tea as well, as they let us sample some since we were deciding between a few. We even got a complimentary Jiufen postcard with our session and a teacup with our purchase! I think I'd like to check out some of the other teahouses if I'm ever back, but Jiufen Teahouse set the bar pretty high. You can't go wrong coming here!

Yelp
I loved this place! The views were pretty amazing and even thought it's not the "hot" place to go, I'd choose this anyway. No wait to get seated and served quickly. The tea was so good! The service was a cool experience, especially if you've never had formal Chinese tea serving. We ordered some deserts also and they were really good. I highly recommend this place if you want to experience tea in this little town but also avoid the more popular place and still have great views and good service

Yelp
Elegant and refined, this teahouse is exactly the experience I wanted hearing about the teahouses in Jiufen. A beautiful space that is artfully and sophisticated curated, it has great array of classic tea accessories and ceramics that are made in-house in their own studio right downstairs. Dining was a great experience with their teaware and the service was very good. My shopping experience was fantastic, and I was even shown into the studio to pick out teacups for a matching set. I love the amount of art, craft, and hand touch every space in this teahouse has. In my opinion, this was best teahouse in Jiufen. I looked around at the others, but this one seemed to surpass the others in quality, atmosphere and curation. Sitting outside with a view if the harbor was also exceptionally splendid, a perfect calm and peace after the bustling crowd of the old street.

Yelp
Amazing service, excellent high quality tea, wonderful and peaceful ambiance, and nice views with lots of places to sit. We came august 10 around around 5pm and a young man gave us excellent service and taught us how to brew the tea and answered all of our questions. I definitely will come back here next time I come and highly recommend if you are looking for peaceful place to have some very high quality tea. Also there's a bunch of hand made pottery cat statues everywhere and it's really cute.

Yelp
This is a much better tea house than the surrounding tea houses in Jiufen. In fact, it's a real tea house, offering different types and qualities of tea for customers. It's also quite educational, as your server will demonstrate how to properly brew tea. Good tea, good snacks, good view, and nice decor and interior.

Yelp
Great selection of Taiwanese oolongs and okay dessert. The atmosphere is excellent. Probably the best tea house in town. This place is a real tea house not a tourist trap.

Yelp
I loved everything about this place. The atmosphere, the tea, the staff- it was all so amazing. Despite my lack of ability in speaking chinese, they were so patient with me. They showcased how the tea is made traditionally, showed me how to do it myself, and explained everything to me. There is a person that comes by to refill the water and charcoal throughout. ALSO whatever tea you don't use, they put in a fancy bag for you to take home so don't feel like you have to drink it all! Amazing place with amazing views!

Yelp
We enjoyed an afternoon of tea at Jiufen Teahouse - the view from the patio here was amazing! We loved the experience, they walked us through the tea process and we spent about 2 hours there just talking, enjoying our tea and the scenery. There wasn't huge crowds at this tea house which we liked - the others were packed. We also chose not to order food (we ate right before we went). There was a massive amount of tea options and they will provide recommendations based on what you like. Lovely experience!

Yelp
Super cool old tea house in the mountains. This tea house is 3 floors and has a nice art gallery downstairs - outside. Picked up a cute vase and brass cat sculpture. Didn't have tea here, but the building itself is amazing. FYI - bathrooms are clean and located downstairs by the art gallery.
