Jiwa Jawa Bromo

For being the most expensive hotel in Bromo, I was a bit disappointed. The room was pretty dirty, and there was loud music playing until late in the night. The management needs to allocate more money to cleanliness, such as using bleach or buying new sheets when they are stained with body fluids.

We stayed here only for a night as a start point for exploring Bromo Tengger national park. It was a practical choice because it’s so close to the national park so it made the trip very easy. The room was clean and comfy. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was nice, they had a good range of breakfast food. We didn’t get much sleep because of the constant noise from the road up to the national park with jeeps going up through the night and other tourists making noise as they moved around. I’m not sure if some kind of sound proofing would be possible, or maybe just ask for a room away from the road?? I also thought it was a bit basic for the price of it, because it’s expensive for Indonesia, but for a one night stay it was ok.

If you want to stay in a room with view of Mt. Bromo, you're definitely choose the right place. Make sure you ask the mountain view room. It's only 20 minutes by 4x4 car to go to Bromo's desert and caldera. The resort can arrange for tour (to visit at least 4 point of interest) with reasonable price. Alternatively, you can ask for guided trekking around the resort. All rooms is without AC as the average temperature is around 16 degree Celcius. The lobby and the dining hall are set looks like an art gallery as the owner loves photography very much. The gallery will satisfy your hunger for landscape photography, human interest, sculptures, and batiks. There's a library corner and a room of old cameras collection in the lobby. You may enjoy your books and cameras collection accompanied with hot tea from various plants. Souvenir shop is nearby and will provide you with coffee, snacks and chocolates from small local enterprises and farmers. For visitor with kids, you can bring your kids to indoor playground beside the lobby. Jiwa Jawa Bromo also famous for arranging jazz festival (called Jazz Gunung Bromo) in their amphitheater and scheduled around July every year.

Very recommended staycation hotel in Bromo, East Java. Spacious rooms and great views, breakfast is also as expected with a varied menu. The hotel staff is also very humble and helpful. Thank you, Mr. Chandra. Very good.

Breakfast cost around $10 usd but it is terrible. It is not even a buffet. Rooms are old and our bathroom cannot even lock. The light is malfunctioning when we arrived (they fixed it). Not worth the price at all. Do not come.

This is a pricey hotel that simply did not deliver the expected value. At check in we were told that we could not eat at the hotel restaurant as it was booked out. Instead we were sent 50 m down the street to a huge empty cavern of a restaurant at which we were the only dinners. It had no atmosphere and the food was bland.||In the morning at 4 when we needed to go up to Bromo the main gate was locked! We had to search for an exit.||No patio chairs on balcony. I could go on.||The breakfast in the hotel's actual restaurant was sublime. Great atmosphere with excellent staff especially Tomy who was superb.

Very good service and the resort is very nice. Quiet surroundings. Room is a little aged and white curtains not cleaned properly. Kettle is very advance.

A lovely hotel in a great location and within easy reach of Mount Bromo, nice rooms,friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast after our trip to watch sunrise. We enjoyed the evening meal. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Only there for one night, but two would have been better , so we could chill out after the early morning trip.
