I stayed at JO&JOE Paris Gentilly for 4 days in a shared dormitory and had a really pleasant experience. The place is well organized, clean, and feels safe and relaxed. The staff were polite, helpful, and welcoming, always ready to assist with a smile. The bar area is very nice and social, and one evening there was even a DJ, which gave the place a great vibe without being too noisy. Breakfast was good and fresh, a nice start to the day. Overall, it’s a comfortable, friendly place with a good atmosphere. I would definitely come back again.

The hostel’s structure is amazing and very different from other hostels I have visited elsewhere. The space is definitely one of the strongest points of the experience. In my opinion, one area that could be improved is customer service. Overall, I felt that the staff were not as helpful or attentive as expected, sometimes coming across as a bit robotic and less friendly. I also think it could be interesting to consider offering more food options for sale within the hostel, although I understand that this is a management decision and depends on whether it is useful or feasible. I am sharing this just as constructive feedback, with the hope that it can help make the experience even better in the future.

I stayed at JO&JOE Paris Gentilly for two nights and had a great experience overall. The location is very convenient, with easy access to the city, which made getting around Paris effortless. I booked a capsule room and was pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was, even bigger than a similar one I stayed in London. I really appreciated having a key card for access to the capsule area and an additional lock on the door itself. It felt secure and was much easier to manage than bringing my own lock. The bathroom was just across the hall, which was very practical, and I loved the overall design of the hostel. The dark hallways, disco lighting, and art installations gave the place a cool, creative atmosphere. The only downside was the shower area. Since there’s no window, visible mold can develop if cleaning isn’t frequent enough. I would recommend checking and cleaning the showers at least every other day to avoid this. Aside from that, everything was great. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and while I didn’t get a chance to spend much time at the bar, there was a DJ and a lively crowd when I arrived, which felt like a perfect setup for meeting people when traveling solo. Overall, a stylish, social, and well-located place to stay, with just a small improvement needed in the shower maintenance.

I recently stayed at this hostel and had a great experience. I was warmly welcomed by two ladies at the reception who spoke excellent English and explained everything clearly. I had already paid for my stay through Booking.com, and I paid the city tax of €3 per day upon arrival. The hostel is extremely clean, secure, and very pleasant. You receive a card to access the elevator, which adds an extra level of security. The rooms and beds are very comfortable, and everything felt well-maintained. Overall, I highly recommend this hostel for anyone visiting Paris. It offers great service, cleanliness, and comfort at a very good value.

Stayed at this hostel with 6 friends in November as we were all going to attend a rugby game at the stade de France. The location was great for us, as we drove in from the South of Paris, very easy to access. There is loads of parking spaces in the streets nearby the hotel so I would not even bother looking into booking the (rather expensive) underground car park, and the street parking rates are much cheaper especially on week ends. The location is also great for catching the train (RER B) that goes straight through the hearth of Paris and then direct to the Stadium.|Check in was easy. We had to wait for our room to be ready but that was no bother. The foyer downstairs is nice and the staff quite friendly. Only downside is that we found the drinks downstairs to be quite expensive, comparable rates to bars in town when here this is just a quick drink in a platic cup. The room was nice (we were given a room for 12 as there was no room for 8 available). Bathroom was also convenient. Overall a great stay and I would absolutely do it again in similar occasions.

The hostel is literally 2 minutes walk from the train station (which takes 20 minutes to the city center; 5 stops). If it’s night time, there is a bus that also takes you to the station in 20 minutes which is a ten minute walk from the hostel. Reading the reviews, I thought there might be a problem with hygiene, cleanliness of the toilet or bedbugs. I had no problems, in fact, everything was clean enough. There was always toilet paper, I never waited for a shower, always warm water and never a dirty toilet or shower. Cozy and modern room. As for the single cabin, it is exactly what it should be. A separate bed with a door in a multi-bed room, not a single room, which I see some people expect. If you have a problem hearing someone or being heard by someone, then this is not for you. Kudos to the security guards and the girl at the reception for their smile and friendliness. The rooftop terrace is great. I would prefer that the indoor area remained open at night for smokers, at least if it is not open for detention. It looks a bit sleazy when we smoke outside. Also, the kitchen should be open all night. There are things that some people consume or should consume at night, and they need to be kept in the refrigerator. Some people come home at night and would like to maybe heat something up, eat. Everything else - great. I will be happy to come back.

Would maybe recommend for a private room stay, but definitely not for a dorm. We stayed in a 12 person dorm for 4 nights and the bathrooms haven't been cleaned ONCE. There was lots of hair everywhere, the trashcans were full, the showers were disgusting and there was blood on the floor of one of the bathrooms. The last two nights, only one of the three toilets had any toilet paper left and when we went to ask for more at the reception, we were told that it wasn't their job to provide us with toilet paper (which it quite literally is). Very disappointing after reading so many positive reviews. The common area was quite nice and the dorm itself very spacious, but there should be no compromises when it comes to cleaning regularly, especially in such a big dorm. We were very happy when we finally got to leave.

Although the place itself has a nice atmosphere, unfortunately every staff member I interacted with was rude, unwelcoming, and dismissive. When I arrived, I was extremely tired and spoke in English at the reception instead of French. The receptionists then spent a long time chatting in French about completely unrelated topics (one of them was even talking about a date with a girl who had allergies), clearly assuming I wouldn’t understand, while pretending they were discussing my stay. At one point, one of them casually said to the other, “Just do the check-in for her,” in a very disrespectful tone. They handed me the key without explaining anything. When I later asked for information, mentioning that I chose this hostel because of its activities, the responses were extremely rude and dismissive. Unfortunately, I don’t know their names. During karaoke night, while we were singing, a staff member named Natasha suddenly closed the laptop without any warning. When I told her that this was rude and that she could have at least informed us or asked us to wrap things up, she said it was accidental — but also said she didn’t care whether I believed it was on purpose or not. Without a doubt, I will never set foot in this place again, and I’ve already made sure to warn all my friends who are planning a trip to Paris to stay far away.
