I've frequented this place a few times in the past and have always liked them. My last experience, however was not so great. One of the things I really liked about them is that they ask how you want your wings cooked! I love CRISPY wings and usually they're on point but the last round the wings were undercooked, white and fleshy. They also skipped on my meat topping for my salad but the WINGS were the real culprit. I contact the store and complained, then was placed to the manager who was a bit snotty about the whole thing but gave me a credit. I call to cash in on it today, they're saying I owe a small balance. I'm just trying to understand why I would have to pay anything for a credit!?! I walk in the store the manager has a huge attitude saying I'm just gonna give it to you. I'm steadily saying, why was there any charge in the first place? He was extremely rude and combative, even telling me I hadn't been there in over a year before my last order...THE NERVE!! I still know how my FOOD WAS PRESENTED!!

I had been curious about this place as I live nearby. Among other things, I ordered a 14" hand tossed, but received something entirely different, which looked nothing like what was pictured on the menu, then had to argue with the pizza restaurant that doesn't know what hand tossed pizza looks like. Aside from that, the sauce was so sweet it could be a dessert, the cheese, crust and only topping I had was completely devoid of flavor. Even the ranch I would've been glad I ordered on the side to somehow salvage this irredeemably bad pizza was bottom shelf, bottled dollar store ranch. A side of alfredo sauce I received was the same. Nothing seemed fresh and nothing was quality. Joanie's To Go?? Maybe you shouldn't.

Here is the wonderful deal! The atmosphere was outstanding you have to love a mom and pop restaurant because, only there can you feel like you're in your own Mother's kitchen. Now, let me tell you about the food the portions were gigantic. I had meat lasagna and spinach lasagna both were outstanding. The lady that took my order was friendly and courteous but most of all there were people in the back saying thank you for coming in. Now that is customer service. Starting at the front door; that's where it begins. Now, if you haven't ate at this restaurant you're cheating yourself out of a wonderful experience. You're cheating yourself out of great authentic St Louis cook food. Now that would be a crime. What are you waiting for go try this place out!

I love me some Joanne's! I have ordered from here so many times because my jobbis near this place. Most of the time I order the spinach lasagna or the meat lasagna with the salad. It is my favorite and absolutely delightful!

Google
So we ordered Joanie's to our hotel during a trip to STL. I am from the STL area but moved several years ago and idk how I didn't know about this AWESOME place! The food was AMAZING! We fed our family of 5 for $60 and had plenty of food left over! The pizza was SO good! And the buffalo tenders were super yummy! I will def be ordering from them again on our next trip to the STL area!

Other than my bacon burning on top of my pizza. My first time going to Joanies 2 go location was good. But not great. Had a couple red spots on my pie. For the price I expect more cheese to be used.

Google
So good! We walked in and got a large order and the wait was great. Not too long at all. We got a couple of pizzas, some apps and lasagna. All were amazing. The Doug's as a double crust was so delicious! And it was beautiful! We came for a weekend trip but we will be back to Joanie's to go when we drive through!

Anytime I want a good quality pizza after work I call Joanie's and they never disappoint! Small waiting room but they are always great to talk to on the phone and fast to make the pizza and they get you in and out quickly. I have never had an issue parking on the road in front of the building or down a few spots.

Yelp
What an awesome takeout spot, located within walking distance of many spots in Soulard. I stayed in an Airbnb across the street, and it was amazing to have Joanie's right across the street. I went to Joanie's twice. I first got a cheese pizza with provel cheese. It was great, although I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce (but I think others may like it). Second, I got their Chicken Alfredo. It was a huge portion size that I could get 3 meals out of! It was creamy, warm, and delicious with a generous amount of chicken. I'd recommend both their pizza and pasta. Prices make sense and service was quick, with both things ready in 20 minutes or less. Next time I come to St. Louis, I'll be checking to see if that Airbnb is available so I can have Joanie's again!

Yelp
My online ordering experience was great! Ordering Platform 10/10. Easy to place through the website and everything was ready for me when I arrived! No need to interact with anyone until it was time to pick up. Parking is limited in this area of Soulard and I had to park with my flashers. Excellent food and variety 10/10. The food stayed hot on my short drive. The menu was very diverse, and had a wide array of options. We had both the meat and spinach raviolis and they were delightful. Check here for your next date.

Yelp
Joanies is just like i remember it as a kid growing up in soulard. Same great tasting pizza and food. Mac n cheese bites are amazing. T-ravs are fresh and hot and the marina was even better. We used it on our pizza as well. It was delicious. We'll make this a go to spot 2 or 3x a month going forward.

Audrey B.

Yelp
Friendly people, fast service. Pizza has a unique taste that I don't know how to describe. It's different. I enjoyed it. Lots of crust options, I opted for hand tossed. Very very cheesey!

Kristen S.

Yelp
Joanie's To Go does outstanding delivery service. The food is well packaged in appropriate size containers. They always include plastic forks and knifes as well as napkins. Joanie's has been getting our lunch orders for years and we are always happy with the experience. Joanie's To Go never forgets our special requests and makes us feel like valued customers when we order from them. I have had everything from the Sandwiches, Pastas, Chicken Wings, Pizza, and Salads. Joanie's To Go offers several lunch specials. The Pizza and Salad Special is a winner- you can have your pizza made fresh on thin, hand-tossed, or gluten free crust. Most of the salad dressing are homemade and fantastic. It's hard to choose between the House Dressing, Poppy Seed, and Caesar Salad Dressings. Their bill is easy to read and separate among coworkers. Delivery drivers have been wearing masks. Lunch from Joanie's To Go continues to be a favorite. Delivery and Curbside pick-up are currently being offered.

Yelp
Really good pizza and friendly welcoming atmosphere. Everything was clean and presentable. This was our first place we ate after driving here and it hit the spot after a road trip! We got the house deluxe no black olives and it was cooked perfectly.

Daryl S.

Yelp
We ordered 2 pizzas and a salad online and drove by 20 minutes later and it was all ready for us! When we go there, the open sign wasn't lit up and we didn't see anyone inside, but luckily they were actually open. I walked in and didn't even have to say anything before the guy working brought the food over and confirmed my name. I was inside for maybe a minute, which makes me very happy during these covid times.

Yelp
Love this place. Lived in Soulard for a while now and remember when they had the full restaurant open. I was bummed when it closed. But the good news is to go is still just as good. Staff is extremely friendly. Get the Sheriff Rudy (see below) and thank me later :) Thanks guys and see you next time!

Loretta E.

Yelp
This House Deluxe pizza with extra onions & pineapples was delicious! See for yourself!

Teresa R.

Yelp
Back again! Sooo in my opinion, this place should be packed all day! The food and service and staff are truly Gem's! Ordered the Buffalo Chicken pizza wooooweeeeeeeeee, it was perfect, spicy and packed with chicken and truly in the spirit of Buffalo chicken! House salad was perfect accompaniment!

Yelp
Joanie's is a St. Louis icon. The pizza they produce is top notch and in my mind sets the standard of St. Louis style pizza. Not being a St. Louis native, it took some time for me to acclimate to St. Louis style pizza. But the fun, flavorful specialty pizzas from Joanie's really help to train your taste buds to fall in love with the crisp thin crust. We decided to have a quick and easy dinner with a friend over the weekend. Just a fun backyard hang that didn't need the bells and whistles of a homecooked meal. But thankfully, living in Soulard, Joanie's helped elevate our dinner. We ordered buffalo wings as an appetizer. They were fine. Nothing out of the ordinary. Seemed like pretty basic sauce and mass produced wings. I only had one because I didn't want to fill up! That's because we ordered the specialty pizza called Franco's Cajun Pride. It is a tasty pie that's drowning in toppings. It features cajun seasoned ground beef (NEVER would have thought to put ground beef on a pizza, but it was so good), green peppers and black olives. This pizza usually comes with onions, but I seriously think that onions ruin the party. They overpower everything. I leave them out when possible. The crust was so crispy. The crunch was satisfying. The cheese was a great blend. I loved how the toppings paired with one another. It was a great pizza. The service was great too! They are adhering to all the latest CDC guidelines for COVID prevention. We ordered online and applied a 10% coupon before checking out. The whole process was really efficient. And the pizza was ready so quickly! It really made for the perfect weekend treat. Excited to go back soon to try some of the other specialties including the double bacon cheeseburger pizza.

Harry D.

Yelp
I was one sad puppy when I heard that Joanie's was closing because they make my absolutely favorite pizza Well I was dang happy to discover that they still offered pizza to go at a different location. They didn't disappoint, the pizza as always was excellent! Joanie's rocks!

April B.

Yelp
We've tried this delivery a few times now. Not because it's always spot on, but because it's close and convenient. The food is so-so, but this time it was just not okay. Got a Calzone and the entire bottom was completely raw dough. The inside "cheese/sauce mixture" left much to be desired. I think that was the last time we took a chance on them.

Pamela B.

Yelp
Very little cheese. Crust was amazing and thank god no provel cheese. But not enough chesse

Emilie G.

Yelp
Best pizza in Soulard! Very quick delivery and easy to order online. Good variety of options on the menu besides pizza too.

Cody F.

Yelp
Chicken Margherita pasta is absolute fire. Caesar salad large on the side. Me and my girl split it but had a whole meal left over again for the price of one. Dude on the phone on Apr 8 2019 at 8 pm was hella nice and his service was great when I came in store. Highly recommend. PS Croutons are crunchy yet easy to eat. Perfect.

danyell b.

Yelp
Great to-go spot! The hot wings are our go-to. The garlic cheese bread is the best I have ever had! Extra cheesy, golden brown goodness! The fried jalapeño Mac-n-cheese bites are very good. The Doug's Southside pizza is great too! Obviously there is only to-go orders taken, parking outside is typically available or opens up quickly. The couple times I have picked up my orders, the workers at the front are courteous and friendly. Definitely recommend!

Carrie C.

Yelp
Amazing pizza. Definitely my go to since the pandemic hit. The first time I ordered delivery I got the Sheriff, garlic cheese bread and a salad. I got thin crust, but it didn't matter as the toppings were over the edges and plentiful. The second time was the white garlic grilled chicken. So much flavor! I added bacon cause, of course, but again, plentiful toppings, the crust isn't a cracker, but not too substantial. The garlic bread is awesome as well. They have just the right amount of garlic and cheese. I'll be back soon to grab another pie!

Yelp
Ordered Pizza This Sunday afternoon around 5PM. We've been ordering from Joanies for over 20 years. Loved the food and was good quality. Today we received a 14" meat pie, thin crust with an order of bbq chicken wings. Cost was short of $50. Pizza was super dry and cardboard in texture. Sauce was almost non-existent. Couldn't hardly eat it. Then to our surprise, wings were very small, tough and bbq sauce was dried on the wings, indicating they had been pre-manufactured a while ago. We are Soulard neighbors and will never order from them again. Called the manager and she wasn't interested in hearing about it. Oh well, even Elicia's is better than this.

Samantha R.

Yelp
The rudest woman on the phone today picked up when i called after I asked for a manager and just hung up with a snooty attitude. It's truly disappointing that management/owners let anyone speak to customers like this. What happened to customer service seriously. Sad

Sean D.

Yelp
Stopped in for a pie during Mardi Gras and this place does it right! Hot and cheesy, this pie filled me up and kept me going for a had afternoon of day drinking! Nothing sets off the flavor of a Hurricane like a pizza from Joanie's! It was like we had a secret pizza party at Joanie's on this cold Mardi Party day. What makes the pizza so good? The ooey gooey cheesiness? Sweet sweet tomato-ness? The crispity crunchity crust? All of the above!

Kat M.

Yelp
We were intrigued by the prospect of a double crust pizza and did not have the time to sit in the pizzeria so we ordered from here on a whim. In short, the pizza was not worth the 40 min drive or the 20$. I expected something like a pie crust consistency on top, not a flimsy doughy texture that sunk into the filling immediately. We ordered extra pepperoni for the toppings and received a plain cheese pizza instead. This was infuriating considering all the extra effort we went to to order from here. The tomato sauce made the pizza taste like lasagna and the crust seemed half-baked. Overall, very unimpressed, we will not order to-go again. Maybe we will try the original location as that seems to be better favored with some according to the reviews.

K G.

Yelp
Since Joanie sold the restaurant quality of food has gone to the pits. Ordering Pizza Hut and waiting 2 hours for delivery is better than this.

Staci S.

Yelp
Ordered Joanie's To Go tonight. We always have a great experience at the restaurant, but this pizza was pretty much a waste of our money. The majority of it was not edible as the crust and base was burnt black and hard as a rock. I'm giving 3 stars because the salad and roast beef sandwich were decent.

Mia B.

Yelp
Very okay food for high prices. Salad I ordered was mushy and brown and discolored. Also got a chicken sandwich and it was good but reminded me of something I'd get in a school cafeteria.

Andrea J.

Yelp
Joanies is so good. Love the chicken pesto pizza and their veggie pizza. Honestly I'm an equally huge fan of their salads. They aren't basic salads that come with most pizzas which is why I'm mentioning it. They use good lettuce, it's not the shitty iceberg you get at most places with crackers and a basic dressing in a small Solo cup. They have legit greens, y'all. Sometimes I order a small pizza and a giant salad. Such a good deal and great lunch specials. They have so many great salad and pizza options and their dressings are baller. I love this place for lunch and dinner. Especially when it's warm out and you can sit and enjoy the Soulard shenanigans. Very awesome place in Soulard. Love these guys.

Alma C.

Yelp
Large thin crust deluxe - pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, black olives. Not a bad deal for $20. Love the flavor. Staff was cool too. Place was pretty clean as

Jeremiah H.

Yelp
Today was my familys first time trying Joanies To Go and it was Phenomenal!!!This pizza will win an award very soon!! If it hasnt already!!!Great Service with a smile by Owner and staff ..We had a thin crust sausage and Bacon masterpiece with crispy mixed sauce wings .A meal of Champions !! This wont be our last time there.Thank You very much!!

Nicki B.

Yelp
Great pizza! Super quick delivery, in three years of ordering there has only been one mistake which was easily rectified. Really wish they had online ordering! Would probably order more often if they did.

Christian K.

Yelp
I'm going to take my Joanie's to go! Joanies Pizza, yet another mainstay of Soulard, offers a pick up and delivery service outside of its regular facilities, Joanie's To Go. This is quite ideal for the patron who lives in the area and doesn't want to deal with the bar crowd or just wants a square of that delicious za! I like going into the bar, but when I choose the wrong night, it can be a little crowded. However, I really like the pizza, so more times than not, I will choose the to go service over the bar. They really have a good thing going here. With a few pizza options in the area, Joanie's is probably my favorite of the three. Don't tell the others! I am a fan of the St. Louis style pizza, but Joanie's does it in its own way. The ingredients are fresh, and I get a sense of homemade every time we have the pleasure of ordering from this location. One thing that I would like to see more of is specials. When I order from here, they very seldom offer me some sort of combo or deal. I always ask, too! However, I have a bad tendency to call on premium days, such as weekend nights. Nevertheless, they should consider more discounts here and there. Joanie, you might have the best pizza in Soulard, but can you take it easier on my pocketbook? Price aside, I am always satisfied with Joanie's product. Also, the wings are good, too!

Anthony S.

Yelp
is always here and the service was really good. We had our pizza delivered with the quickness. The we ordered we're tiny but plentiful so no complaints. The fries were terrible....soggy & looked old. We didn't touch them at all & kinda upset us we wasted our money on them. I'll reorder again bc the is amazing....but the fries need improvement.

Kelsie H.

Yelp
Even and especially now the best takeout in soulard. Always friendly, always delicious, and always quick. Best Caesar salad in St. Louis (in my opinion)! And great prices. Big fan.

Angelina L.

Yelp
This place hands down has the best customer service in all of soulard.. maybe even all of St. Louis! My order has always been perfect and the staff is great. Keep up the work Joanie's!!!

jenny k.

Yelp
Great pizza! Love that it's light on the sauce and crispy crust. Oh. And. The cheese mix! Delish!! We also ordered a large salad and it was perfect to share. Definitely did not disappoint!

Kathleen S.

Yelp
I am not a fan of pizza. Yet when I want one I hope it has great ingredients. I loved the garlic cheese bread and the marinara sauce. The alfredo chicken pizza was bland. I am aware that not many like to make thier own thin crust. But know it is not made in store for it was bland. Would I recommend yes just because of the marinara sauce.

Stephanie B.

Yelp
Joanie's To Go is the most consistent delivery/carry out place in St Louis. We order an obscene amount of food for delivery or carry out. Other places get our order wrong or things are missing or it's just not as good as the sit down food. Welp not at Joanie's. It's the only place in St. Louis where we can count on everything being right every time.

Nicole J.

Yelp
Ok, so we stopped by here during mardi gras for an after party bite. We fully expected to have a decent wait as there were quite a few people waiting, so no big deal. It took about 30 minutes. The pizza itself was alright, nothing mind blowing. We have had pizzas at the regular Joanies just a block away and felt like that was much better. Main reason for losing a few stars here was that the staff there were not the friendliest. I understand that they were very busy, and also visibly annoyed, but there is still a level of courtesy that is expected. I was literally yelled at by their hired security guard in front of everyone for standing in the doorway. Unfortunately for me, the lobby had a line that went out the door, so there really was nowhere else to stand at that point. But rather than ask me to stand elsewhere like a normal person, I got screamed at. in any case, I paid $25 for 1 pizza that was just OK, and got berated by a security guard for no reason. Doubtful we come back here.

Kelley M.

Yelp
Best calzones ever. Will always stop here for the best food. Finally got to bring my son. He loves it to.

John H.

Yelp
Had a great experience with Joanies to go on a delivery order. super nice staff on the phone and great service. always loved the food but so glad they changed out the phone staff for such amazingly nice people. makes the whole experience complete now.

Abby S.

Yelp
Joanie's to the rescue!!! That's how I felt about this local pizzeria on Wednesday night. I had just had a really stupid experience with Papa John's and was wondering, "How the heck am I going to get a pizza delivered to Foam?" It really shouldn't have been so hard, but it was. Then one of my friends suggested I try Joanie's. I know about Joanie's To Go, but had no idea that in addition to picking up your pizza from them, they also deliver. Woot! I *should* have known this, since Joanie's has a van. But I never thought to ask them about delivery. The gal who took my order was a little unsure of where they delivered (Foam is less than 2 miles away from Joanie's but she had never heard of Foam). And even though she thought it might be slightly out of delivery range, she said she'd hook it up regardless. Less than 45 minutes later, there was my delivery guy. He had never heard of Foam, either, and looked relieved that he found the place (which it's kind of hard NOT to see... it's on the corner of Jefferson and Cherokee with a giant sign, but whatev). The pizza was hot and exactly how I ordered it. Honestly, I'm not going to try and order Papa John's ever again! As long as Joanie's is close by, it's a safe bet!

Josh S.

Yelp
This is the first time I've tried Joanie's To Go, but I've had Joanies pizza several times before and knew what I was getting myself into. What better food to have after drinking wine all afternoon, than a pizza loaded with various meats. It was a thin crust pizza loaded with peperoni, bacon (Mmmm, bacon), and sausage. If I remember right, and I may not because I had been drinking wine all afternoon, the sauce was just a bit sweet. Ordering was quick and painless and about 20 minutes later we were on our merry way to go home and indulge in this goodness. The cheesy garlic bread was nothing too special, but it was plenty cheesy and fit the bill. We wanted something good, something fast, and something we could take home with us. Check, check and check. Joanie's To Go was just what we were looking for.

Liz L.

Yelp
The hubby and I order Joanie's an average of once a week, twice if we're lazy and don't want to cook. The person on the phone is always friendly and always reads your order back to you, which I appreciate. Typically we get a large pizza and a salad...and it's always been good. The buffalo chicken pizza is the hubby's favorite, while mine is the house deluxe. Growing up on the east coast, I consider myself a pizza snob, but Joanie's is my favorite "St. Louis style" pizza. The salads are sizable and taste very fresh, not like lettuce that has been wilting in the fridge for days. My favorite dressing is the house, which is like a vinaigrette of some-sort. And their croutons, I'm guessing homemade, are delicious! On average, the time from phone order to actually pizza on the doorstep is about 45mins to an hour, so plan your schedule accordingly. But, definitely order from here!

Mandie B.

Yelp
I don't have anything bad to say about this place. The food is good and the people are so great! "Joanie" is my new neighbor and so I plan to become a regular. It's nice to have something so close that actually tastes good. And the best part is that I got a 10% discount since I checked in through Yelp! Score.

Erica T.

Yelp
When I moved to Benton Park and found out that Joanie's delivered to me, I may have cried. It's so glorious to be able to order food to be delivered from somewhere that isn't Joe's Chain Pizza Express. I particularly like the fact that I can get something that isn't pizza. Uncle Pete's Meatball Sandwich is DELICIOUS, and if I ever had the opportunity to meet Uncle Pete, I would bake him a cake. Shaped like a meatball. And it would be made of meat. So really I would bake him a meatball disguised as a meatball shaped cake. Joanie's has my FAVORITE VEGETARIAN PIZZA IN ALL OF THE LOU. I had to use caps because this is a super important statement when you take into consideration all the pizza joints we have here. It has fresh spinach, yellow squash, mushrooms, onions and roasted garlic. I want to eat one right now. They also deliver cheesecake straight to my door and truthfully, sometimes I order from them just because I want some cheesecake in my mouth. Is that so wrong. The one and only sigh factor about Joanie's is their sauce. It makes me sigh. It's blah. I'm not even picky or weird about pizza sauce, I just want some distinct flavor, whatever it may be, and Joanie's just doesn't do it for me. Can we get a bay leaf or something? Some pizazz? However, everything else is so rad that I'm willing to deal with this. Ordering is always hassle free and I never weight long for delivery. I don't know how far out their radius is, but if you can get Joanie's to deliver to you, take advantage! They are super boss.

Jared B.

Yelp
Got this for delivery to Hyatt at the Arch. The person I called to place the order with was friendly and got my order right, a big plus! The delivery guy was nice so I gave him a decent tip. When I opened the pizza box 4 slices had slid into the side, smashing them. The cheese had slid off with the toppings in tow. I got up to my room and took a bite. The pizza was not hot, maybe lukewarm at best. The first bite was so bland. The sauce had very little flavor. I ordered it with green pepper, bacon, and white onion. The toppings were very good and fresh. The crust was decent, crunchy, flaky, with a somewhat sweet flavor. The cheese was somewhat rubbery and had a funky aftertaste. Overall, it was decent pizza, better than say Papa John's or Domino's, but far from perfect. Would I order it again? Yeah, It was good enough to warrant a second pie.

Kelly B.

Yelp
Joanie's to Go is your best option for delivery in the Soulard area. They have decent homemade pizza (thick and thin) and are best known for their Margherita pizza. They carry all of the casual St. Louis Italian standards like toasted ravs (not my thing, but hey), a variety of salads, appetizers, sandwiches, etc. I'm not a vegetarian, but after sampling their veggie lasagna at a catered event, I'm hooked. Spinach and red sauce don't sound like a good combo to me, but this dish is awesome!. The roast beef sandwich is really good, as well.

Stan M.

Yelp
I've always received the best service and their deliveries are always prompt and in less time that they state. The veggie pizza is my favorite and it's great.

Emily S.

Yelp
Always on point! And quick! And much more tasty than Epic Pizza I know these people are busy. We ordered a pizza at dinnertime during Oktoberfest- it had to be one of their busiest days of the year. Our pizza got here within 45 mins which was impressive. We always get pizza with sausage. I don't know what they do to it, but it's so savory and melts in your mouth! I highly recommend Joanie's To Go (and the original Joanies) for pizza!

Sean K.

Yelp
Terrific pizza in my opinion. I enjoy especially the chicken BLT pie as long as you're ok with cooked tomaters. I do have one MAJOR complaint. I wish I could talk to the owner or whomever makes the big decisions in that joint. I get a hankering for the 'za about once a week, and every time I call Joanie's first. Every Time, I ask for a pizza that is two different sauces split down the middle. They flat out refuse to accommodate EVERY TIME. It would be a simple exercise to plop them sauces down on the dough. I don't understand their major malfunction. If I don't mind my sauces touching, where's the issue? Regardless, I take my business elsewhere purely on principal. Big bummer, man. Summation: great pizza, annoying unreasonable rules. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't. Where are we going for lunch? I'll call Joanie's, but end up not there.
