Simply perfection as far as I am concerned!! The staff are out of this World! So happy, so engaging, so welcoming, I can’t put into words how I was left feeling after visiting on Saturday, but given I went back on Sunday probably says enough! The staff are amazing!! As is everything else. Staff, location, setting, ambiance, food, drink, absolutely everything was perfect. Right up there with the absolute best places I have ever eaten, without question. And I will be back on Thursday evening before I leave Rio, only to return very, very soon.

Came here for lunch - waited a short time but was so worth it!!! The food was delicious and such good value. The earth risotto was filled with shrimp and the sausage and prawn rice was a standout dish!

Google
this place is outstanding. I came here six times and every time the food, drinks and staff was amazing. I highly recommend trying the filé do zé and mignon tagliatelle as a main, and the hearts of palm as a starter.

Google
A great dining experience. Staff were very attentive and professional. Food was all very amazing. We had a good time here and we were sat quickly for lunch. We arrived a bit before the lunch rush. Food came out fast for a full meal place. Vegetarian dishes were good as well as the more traditional options. Will return here next time.

Excellent restaurant with staff that speaks English! We had to wait for a table, but it was definitely worth it. Delicious drinks, good menu and the desserts were out of this world. Can recommend the Dulce de Leche Crème Brulee!

Google
Food is amazing, without a doubt. Highly recommend eating here whenever you get the chance. It is so good that a lot of people go there which means there was a line/waiting list when we got there. But besides that, very delicious food and nice waiters.

Google
One of the best meals we had in Rio, everything cooked to perfection. Service is great, they speak spanish and english and are super nice, always looking to provide you the best experience. Drinks are a must, super creative and flavour-rich. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely.

Beautiful atmosphere. We sat outside under the gorgeous decor. Food was delicious. The pasta with filet mignon had the meat overcooked so I’d stay away from that dish, but all else was incredible!

Yelp
We went with cousins to Joaquina''s restaurant, which was recommended by our hotel, the Hilton Cococabana. We all had the same thing: bruschetta and then fillet mignon with garlic. This dish is amazing and all of us loved it. The meat was so tender and the side dishes very different and delicious. If you happen to be in Rio de Janeiro, I highly recommend Joaquina's for dinner. Besides the food, the prices were extremely reasonable. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating facing the ocean.

Yelp
Joaquina masterfully combines Brazilian flavors with a modern touch, staying true to its roots with carefully selected ingredients. The picadinho is my go-to dish -- tender, well-seasoned meat paired with the most deliciously moist banana farofa. It's comfort food elevated to perfection. The shrimp stroganoff is another standout, creamy and satisfying, making it an excellent choice whether you're visiting during the week for the executive menu or on weekends. Prices are fair, especially considering the quality. However, the drinks fell short of expectations. The Aconchego cocktail was too watered down for my taste, and while the non-alcoholic option was decent, I'd recommend sticking to their refreshing natural juices. The restaurant's location is hard to beat, right across from Leme Beach. It's an ideal spot for a post-beach meal, with outdoor seating that offers a laid-back, beachy vibe perfect for enjoying the sunset. The cozy setup adds charm, even if the service could use improvement. The staff is friendly and welcoming! That said, the incredible food more than makes up for it, making Joaquina a spot worth visiting.

Yelp
Amazing food and service- I can't wait to go back- prices are phenomenal with 12% tip included

Yelp
Ah-may-ZING! Amazing. From the vibe to the food to the service, this place checked all the boxes. Owner is incredibly determined to make sure you have the best time here. Don't skip the salmon tartar. A vegetarian's dream in a meat-lover's country.

Yelp
Loved this place. Perfect spot next to the Hilton, nice views and excellent food and service. Ordered the shredded beef on recommendation and it was excellent. But the big winner was the house made brigadeiro! The best I ever had. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Dinner with some classic Brazil items. Nice place. Ate indoors due to the rain. They do have some wait staff that speaks English and they have a tablet with pictures of all the food. Excellent service. Had the rice cakes with casaba. (I think). Very good. And a dish of dried beef think carbs decaf with collards and rice. This one was called Great Granny's Beef Strips. Also excellent sides came with slice collards. A pinto bean purée with 2 casaba cakes. My favorite place so far.

Yelp
Just had the best and the most memorable dinner in Rio with my friend at Joaquina. Everyone here enjoy the food and service. It's the kind of place you definitely want to come again.

Yelp
Staying at the Hilton nearby. Great food and service. Highly recommend. The grilled Heart of Palm and Fillet de Fe were awesome.

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at the hotel. It was within walking distance and offers traditional Brazilian cuisine. Dined with my friend. The we didn't have a reservation but the wait for a table was about 20-25 minutes. The staff was very friendly. My Portuguese isn't very good but staff was accommodating with me ordering food. I tried the fried rice balls, and another dish that I need to look up the name and update later, my friend had sausage. The food was really delicious. I was full after enjoying the appetizers so didn't get a chance to order an enteee. We did have about three glasses of wine (great pours btw). Our bill was about $80 USD. Definitely will recommend if you want traditional Brazilian food.

Yelp
The food was on point, especially the appetizers. The owner was very attentive and found us a table quickly. The setting is across from the beach and near the Hilton. Very nice evening!

Victor P.

Yelp
5 stars in all categories. Service is amazing. Food is a dream. And place is located right on the beach with outdoor seating. Favorite drink: Gabriela. Favorite dish: Arroz de linguica Blumenau e Camaroes

Yelp
On our first night in Rio, we stopped by Joaquina for dinner. This Brazilian restaurant was recommended in my Brazil guidebook so we gave things a try! Upon arriving, the restaurant was packed. We waited about 20 minutes before being seated at a table on the patio. Which is exactly what we wanted as the weather was lovely. After ordering a caipirinha, I went with the shrimp risotto. I love risotto so I couldn't pass up on the Italian dish. While the risotto didn't deliver to my full expectations, it was still a solid entree and had a good amount of shrimp. The service was excellent. The staff was super friendly and took good care of us throughout our time at the restaurant.

Dylan C.

Yelp
Honestly the best food we had in Brazil. Every dish we ordered here was top notch, with distinct flavors, tender meats and good accompaniments. The only dish that could use a little more work was the sausage which was on the saltier end. The dried meat is definitely a must-try option because of its tenderness and curated flavors. The Shrimp Stroganoff was also made to perfect as well with it's unique sauce and yuca. Lastly the Rib Rice we got was slow cooked for hours and you could taste the flavors soaked into the beef and seeping onto the vegetables.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. I have eaten here for years and am never disappointed. Nice view of the ocean too.

Rick F.

Yelp
Wow! I had a "Filet do Ze" which is a breaded filet mignon with risotto with mozzarella on side. Ate whole thing. Perfectly breaded! It's a crazy crowded place on the sidewalk of Copacabana Beach. The waiter dropped my dish in the kitchen (he was trainee) according to owner who came up to me to apologize for delay. All good. On vacation. I actually took a look at pix of other dishes. Thinking this place the real thing. Rio de Janeiro. On the beach warm breeze great ambiance. Well went back Monday. Had picanha. Definitely on positive side but did not match Filet do Ze. Had a side dish mixture of farofa greens and bacon. Above average.

Rita S.

Yelp
Food and ambiance was good. The deserts were awesome!! The service was amazing we really enjoyed the dinner!!

Jeannine M.

Yelp
The food was good. Salmon tartare was different and we enjoyed. Homemade bathindas (not sure if spelled correctly) coconut one was really good.

Patty H.

Yelp
Excellent food! Friendly staff that understood English. Great selection of Brazilian food.

Ansh T.

Yelp
Flavorful food, great service, menu has good range from various parts of Brazil, and capirinhas weren't too shabby either. Oh, and full frontal views of Copacabana Beach...can't complain about that either.

Tripp P.

Yelp
Great location across from the beach with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. The patio is protected from the elements and from beggars etc (plants surround). the service is very good and although they don't speak much English, they have an English menu and they try hard. Stephany, Victor and Hugor were very helpful to me and others. The food has good flavor and is plenty. I had the carne do sol acebolada and it was quite good. Some pieces were a little chewy, but most were very good. The dessert selection made it hard to choose, but the doce de Leite was really creamy and delicious. Definitely worth a return visit.

Yelp
This was recommended by our tour guide when we asked for a restaurant that served moqueca (Brazilian non spicy coconut based curry). Even this is a Northern Brazilian specialty my husband said it was the best. He had the mixed seafood and my son had the shrimp. My daughter had a kids special chicken with mashed potatoes and it was a big portion. I had the Blumenau sausage sandwich that was also delicious and tasted like German smoked sausage. We ordered the Sonho Appetizers that were fabulous. Of course we had a few Capirnha with our meal.

Tiffany H.

Yelp
I didn't read the reviews before coming here .... If I did I probably would not have gone, but I had a good experience. The waiters were attentive and the drinks were strong! The food was delicious and came in good portions. The bathrooms were clean and for a Friday afternoon it was packed. Nice to eat inside or outside. I recommend the risotto and dulce de leche as well as fried banana were great desserts. I would recommend this place, but I guess proceed with caution if they are inconsistent. Over my experience was great!

Nina A.

Yelp
Nice for a quick bite to eat across from the beach. I would stick to either a huge delicious salad or meat appetizer because portions are huge. If with someone get 2 snacks and share. Service can be frustrating as they don't understand English well, but be patient as they are and you will enjoy.

Joseline R.

Yelp
Vegetarian looking for Brazilian taste seek no more! The vegetarian feijao is out of this world! A must try.

George A.

Yelp
Overall a good place to eat. I do not give out stats easily. Seating outdoors is available and always enjoyable. Wait staff is attentive and helpful. The food is enjoyable but not memorable. Looking for a good place to eat on Copacabana beach you can't go wrong here.

Aramyees B.

Yelp
Poor service in a number of visits. Waiters confused and orders wrong. Food is over priced and salty Much better options in Leme

Helenice B.

Yelp
If you are looking for an outstanding service, fabulous food, probably the best draft beer in Rio all at a reasonable price that's the place to go in Rio. But be aware that you may have to wait to get a table but not too long. Definitely a good option. The two locations one at Cobal Humaita and the other one in Leme are both very good.

Ravi S.

Yelp
Great food, good service. Ordered the filet minon tips special and the price is a real deal for such a the amount of food.
