Leilani is a true curly hair specialist!! My son and I have curly hair. Both are very different. Mine is thin, and my son's is thick. Leilani has mastered both!! I am 56 years old, and this is the first stylist to get it right!

Being a newbie to California, I needed a hair stylist. Finding Lourdes was a Godsend! Soooooo very happy with the cut and style she gave me. Best haircut of my life! Don't hesitate to visit, I've seen lots of happy people in this place!

Beautiful salon! My stylists name is Leilani. She is phenomenal! I have very difficult hair. It is very fine, curly, and thick. Not many hair styles match my face, but Lailani was able to give me a stylish and flattering hair cut. I also got highlights. Since I have a lot of hair it is not an easy task, but Lailani was very patient and very meticulous. She did such an even job that it looks natural. I have gotten many compliments. I am ever so grateful I found her. I highly recommend her!

Fantastic the first time I went! However after a few times seeing Leilani I tried making an appointment again with her and had it arranged weeks ahead of time while also asking her to do a relaxing treatment for me. She said she needed to ask her boss and see which kind he used. That was fine, I waited almost a week for answer then she texted me asking if I could come in a week LATER again after already waiting a week and talking to her about it - that was fine, I waited. But at this point I told her I did not want a haircut from her I wanted to make an appointment with Joe himself. Leilani stated that the appointment was to be made though her for Joe. However when it came to the day of my actual appointment she texted me nearly an hour before the haircut and tells me "I can't do the relaxing". "Do you still want a haircut" ? Now, let me be honest. I've never dealt with a more unprofessional hair stylist. She couldn't even locate the check that I gave to her after my second hair appointment and I had to give her extra money with cash to cover for her forgetfulness and misplacing of MY personal check that could have been stolen by anyone with my account and routing numbers on it. Now thats not really the problem here. The problem here are things being misrepresented here by Leilani. I truly was looking forward to my haircut and relaxing treatment after waiting almost a whole month but to be disappointed like this especially in a hair stylist who is supposedly working for a professional salon and is an "alleged" hair stylist herself. I will never recommended Leilani to anybody. Now I don't have a haircut, relaxing treatment or anything for that matter and her response? Verbatim (Leilani) : "you can call the shop yourself" - if none of that's not unprofessional to you then your bar is pretty low.

For the most part, this salon is so-so. Teresa does an okay job when it comes to a Brazilian blow-out. But I would NOT go to her for hair color. She doesn't know what she's doing, takes way too long to book appointments, and her consultations leave you more confused. I'm no longer going to this hair salon and found another place that is way better.

I have been getting my hair done in Huntington Beach for over 25 years. My girlfriend is wonderful, however was unavailable at the holidays. I called Mercedes and she had time to do color and a cut. The change was simply transformational. I had a lovely and laughter-filled time, we enjoyed our couple of hours together, and the price was well within my budget. Moreover, it has been literally years since I have gotten as many compliments regarding my hair cut and color. I feel gorgeous, and that speaks volumes for me, and the AMAZING MERCEDES! She's so sweet and considerate, worth the time to meet and know. PS if you're from Chicago, it's a bonus!

Lelani is awesome. She always gives me a great color and haircut. Nice shop! Kevin does great eyebrows but I doubt this is being done because of COVID-19.

A couple of months a go I went to another local salon and paid a lot of money and although the color was nice, the cut was just blah. However, I did not say anything to the stylist. A couple of weeks later I came here to Joe Oliveri to get a blow out and I was so impressed with my stylist, Leilani. As she was working she commented on my hair and the cut and I agreed with what she said. So I cancelled my next appointment with the other guy and scheduled a cut and base color with Leilani and today she did a wonderful job! It's exactly what I wanted and needed. She is awesome! Also, the front desk staff at the salon are friendly and the salon is clean and has a pleasant atmosphere.

This place makes me so happy! Jamie is the first stylist to completely understand exactly how I want my hair. I've shown her pictures of hair colors that I like and she makes them work with my skin tone, perfectly! She has been cutting my hair the same since I've been going to her and she came up with the style on her own based off of my face shape, and the length I wanted it. She really knows what she's doing! The last time I got my hair colored by her, I decided to do something different and she nailed it - I had almost 20 people tell me they loved it the next day! I love feeling confident from the inside out and Jamie is an expert at helping you feel that way. She will also recommend products to help your color last, or suggest other beauty products for things you are looking for. Seeing her is like having a beauty consultation at the same time! Edit: Jamie is not there anymore so now I see Chelsey. Chelsey is just as amazing! I brought in extensions for a wedding and Chelsey dyed my hair to match them. She totally nailed it! She did my hair the day of the wedding and the groom even said he was fooled and I was the maid of honor! No idea how he couldn't tell if I hang out with him all the time. I almost cried when I took it out. She also tried the extensions on after she dyed it just to show me how to put them in and what they looked like. She's the best! I didn't cut my hair so it would be longer for the wedding and now I can't wait to go back to get a hair cut. I have been doing my natural color for the past couple of years so I can stop dying it, but now I want to see what Chelsey would come up with. I get excited thinking about it!

We love Lourdes! Me, my wife, and parents have been going to her for years, and she has always gone out of her way to make sure we are always happy. All of us have different hair and needs including thick, thin, color treated, fades, and anything in-between. Would definitely recommend her.

I'm a personal friend of Jamie's but that has nothing to do with my impression of her stylist abilities - she is AWESOME! If you go here, you must ask for her. She's sweet, understanding, funny, and really understands what to do with my hair. I felt like I was cheating on my regular stylist and salon, but I really dig the vibe of this place, and the prices are very reasonable. I will definitely return to see Jamie! :)

I recently got my hair done by Cheryl and love it! I got some heavy highlights done and a cut. She was very friendly, fun and easy to talk to. I have also gotten my hair done by Chelsea in the past and she has done an amazing job. I love the location of the place and the fact it has been there for so many years. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and I always enjoy my time there. Recommend for everyone!

Very nice looking salon, I was referred to Teresa for a Brazilian blow out by a friend who had found her via a Groupon special. Everything was great, loved the prompt text responses and excellent communication. The treatment itself was really good, lasted and it was really fast. Only complaint for me is I was charged $50 for a simple straight across haircut. I did not protest when given the price right then and there because one she had already done it and two I blame myself for not asking beforehand about the price. I just didn't think it would be $50, not sure if she charged me that much to make up for the Groupon special or if that's what she normally charges but lesson learned I will always ask about prices beforehand. Especially for a simple 2 inch straight across cut. Other than that, everything else was great. Very accommodating to your schedule.

I came here via a Groupon. I'm still kinda new to Ca and hadn't found a regular hairdresser. I think that has changed. I saw Susan and I just think she's great. I'm always a little nervous with new people because I'm biracial and my hair is a little different, believe it or not there are people who don't know what to do with my hair. I'd definitely trust her. She did an ombré, cut, and condition. It looks great. I used to always get relaxers, never again, my hair looks smooth and straight. I'm really pleased and will definitely be back.

I found this salon because I purchased a Groupon. I was hesitant at first but once I arrived and told Susan what I wanted, she was very friendly and professional. She did an amazing job. I am so happy I received a great hair color and style for a great price. I will definitely come back.

Carlos at Joe Oliveri is a kind, respectful, awesome guy. I hate getting my hair cut, but Carlos makes it a breeze. Everyone I know who uses him won't let anyone else touch their head! Those I have sent have all stayed on as regulars too. He rocks. The Salon has a good vibe and it's full of fresh beach air, instead of stinky chemicals or bad music. I strongly recommend Carlos. I love my hair cut and color! Leilani focused on listening to my wants and needs as a new client. I recently moved to the South Bay and was looking for a sun-kissed, brighter look. My dark brunette, should length hair is layered and partly straight and wavey. I came with a few picture ideas but couldn't really verbalize what I wanted. Leilani went to work on coloring my roots in a neutral brown and later adding golden highlights. The cut was awesome after the hack job I had at a different salon. Everything turned out great. Everyone is friendly and the salon is beautiful and peaceful, nicely located on the corner too off PCH. Well done Leilani and thanks Joe Oliveri!

Waited for a few visits before I did this review just to be sure...I've been in hair hell for 4 years now. After 2 decades with my stylist, I decided to leave him (long story) .I've been from Beverly Hills to the Beach cities trying to find someone who can do hair. I am very loyal but extremely picky. My hair had green tones in it that no one could get rid of. Nicky gave me a fabulous cut (I can always tell a good cut when I do my own hair) and the color was gorgeous, it gets better with each visit. Next week will be my 4th visit and my hair is shiny, healthy and happy. Nicky's personality is very relaxed and very kind and she has a great sense of humor. I am so grateful that my search is over and I found my hair stylist!

I went to Heather Priamos for hair extensions, I hoped she knew what she was doing since she also wears hair extensions but unfortunately her prices were very expensive and the hair quality wasn't at all what I hoped, the hair was frizzy and she told me I need to blow dry it and flat iron it and style it if I wanted it to look good...ummmm if the hair quality is good you don't need to spend 2 hours making it look like quality hair beside the fact that the hair isn't gonna last as long with all that styling. Im writing this because I wished there was a review when I was considering going to her.

I am new to the area and havent had anyone but a friend touch my hair in 5 years. I called and they were very professional and polite. I was scheduled with Mercedes. I walked in and didnt realize how big the place was! Very clean. Mercedes really took her time getting to know me, asked great questions; but still kept me confident that she was the expert. Ibwas informed they have other services like a manicurist and esthetician on site. Im very happy with my haircut and would highly recommend this place! Oh! And they are very reasonably priced!! Very!! Awesome place!

Mercedes at Joe Oliveri is awesome and has a cute bubbly personality. I have super short hair in the back and it angles longer in the front and have gone to her 3 different times and she is consistent. I LOVE IT and constantly get compliments after any hair cut. Two of my other co-workers go to see her as well and no one has had any complaints. Only reason for not giving them 5 stars is they could do a little renovation to the interior of the salon. It's has a more home feeling and of course, the interior's isn't what cuts your hair, but it would probably benefit the salon.

My second visit with Michelle because the first was perfect! She hit it right on with the exact color I was looking for and my hair is so healthy looking and even changed it up with a cut/style this time. Michelle is a true professional and is very knowledgeable on hair color and styling. Friendly staff and nice salon.

I first went to Joe Oliveri for the $25 Blow Dry Special Monday-Friday and was assigned to Michelle. She did a fantastic job and I've been going back to her ever since. Michelle always does what I ask for and she surpasses my expectations. I love the way my hair looks every time I leave and my fiancee does too!

Lourdes Alvarez at Joe Oliveri has been cutting my hair for over 25 years...and I can honestly say that I have always been happy. She has a way of knowing what you want and is easily able to create it. I trust her completely and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a new hairdresser! She listens to you and uses that information to create the style that fits you. We all know how great it feels to have a good haircut! The salon itself is easy to access, always clean and has a really good feel to it.

I love, love, love Michelle! A year ago, I was new to CA and was hesitant about finding a new stylist. Boy, did I hit the jackpot with Michelle! She sat with me and asked questions about my hair and really listened to what I wanted in a style. She is very knowledgeable about haircuts and color. I can't say enough nice things about her!

Teresa been doing my hair for about 20 years now and I must say I've never been disappointed, I'm just a guy though but she also does my daughters hair and I must say everybody including my daughter always raves about it afterwards. If you need a simple color and cut or even a severe color correction(just ask my daughter) Teresa's the one you really should go to, I and my daughter highly recommend her!

This place is around the corner from where I live. Mercedes is who I got when I first walked in and had hair done for my engagement shoot. Since the location was so convenient, I booked my sisters her for my rehearsal day and heena day. She extremely rude knowing I was bride to be. She turned my chair, curled my hair when we had agreed to just color and blow dry. I let her know that I wanted to add clip in extentions that I had brought with me. She said she didn't have the time for that, that she only had time for color and blow dry. So I said ok, thinking I could clip in the extensions myself. Then she turned the chair in way that I couldn't see what she was doing to my hair. She curled my entire hair such that I couldn't use my hair extensions that I had bought for over $90. The whole time while she was doing my hair, she was so mad that we were 10 min late, she didn't say a word. And before starting the service, she made a huge scene since we were late, and the fact that my older sister didn't come for appointment, I brought my younger sister instead...seriously what difference does it make as long as appointment is honored and she got her business. She knows the hair, but I would not recommend this place to any bride to be as she is insensitive, and bitter.

I have been going here to see Teresa McCarty since I moved to CA in 2005. I moved here via NYC and Boston, and have been to the best stylists in both cities. Teresa is by far the best stylist - color, cut, everything- that I have ever been to!!! I tell her she is chemist. My color is SO PERFECT! It looks so natural that people don't realize I color my hair unless I tell them. Beautiful golden blonde - perfect for my complexion and never brassy. People frequently compliment me on my hair! I've been a patron of Joe Oliveri's over 20 years. First with Sherry Guitar (an excellent stylist) and then with Cheryl Outlaw. I've been seeing Cheryl for the last few years, and she too is an excellent stylist. I've always had great results at Joe Oliveri's no matter the stylist. They are all highly trained. Cheryl is funny and makes the time fly especially when I'm scheduled for the works! The shop is clean and homey, although it could probably use some sprucing up here and there. The parking is limited but there is usually plenty of parking on the avenues nearby. See Kevin Alexander for facials and eyebrow tinting and waxing. He is a very nice guy and keeps me laughing. The prices are pricey but you're worth it and you won't be disappointed!

Joe Oliveri seems like a nice man. Dedicated. Beautiful mane of near-white hair. I'm a nice man too. Dedicated to my appearance. I used to have a beautiful mane of near-white hair, too. And then I went to this salon, and was butchered to the point of heartsick by a completely pre-occupied "barber" (I would never call her a "stylist" ) named Michelle. Michelle had cut my hair once before and done OK. This time I walked in the other day at 20 mins to 1... just checking to see if Michelle was available. The lady behind the desk... I think Joe's wife... said "Michelle has a 1PM. Let me check with her." She came prancing out of the back and rushed me into her chair. I was pleasant, and said, "need a cleanup. Same as last time." She pulled out what looked like a small lawn mower and before I could say another word, sheared me. Absolutely obliterated years of careful grooming in less than five minutes. I didn't know what hit me. I was so shocked I could not react. MIchelle the Butcher spent all of five minutes on her "styling." I felt like I'd been given a GI haircut like I got years ago when drafted into the Army. I wouldn't go back to that piece of garbage hair destroyer if she had the last pair of scissors on Earth. And Joe... enjoy your beautiful mane of stylish hair. If I live long enough, mine might grow back after this sheep-shearer who works for you destroyed my hair. And while you're at it, fire that idiot.

If you want a great haircut or enhance or change your hair color, you need to make an appointment with Michelle at Oliveri"s. She is very personable and really listens to what you would like done with your hair. Michelle is such a talented hairsylist...I wish I had found her years ago!

I have been seeing Lourdes for many, many years now, besides being a genius with cuts and hair color (a good colorist is a gift, many of you will understand that) She is awesome to spend the time with! It is obvious that she loves what she does and she has a great eye and talent for her profession. The salon itself if very nice and has a great atmosphere and all who work there are really nice and friendly too! I highly recommend Lourdes! You won't be sorry!

For men's haircuts, Eleana is fantastic !!! She listens to what you want, checks that she is on the right track and takes her time to get it perfect.

Lourdes has been doing my hair for years and there is no one else I'll let touch my thick, curly blonde hair! She does amazing color, so much so that I've referred several friends to her because they've admired my color so much. I get compliments all the time on my hair and that is all thanks to Lourdes. I highly recommend this salon and Teresa McCarty is a fantastic stylist! Teresa has been doing my hair for years and I am always happy with the results. Recently, I had the Brazilian Blow Out done and I couldn't be happier. I tend to have frizzy hair and now I do not have to use a flat iron at all. Her prices are fantastic! I live in Huntington Beach and I do not mind driving to Redondo it is well worth the drive!

Went to this salon for the first time as my husband as his hair cut here, just wanted to get a blow dry but ended up having my hair cut by Elena. So pleased, it looked and felt wonderful and she was so lovely, I would highly recommend her, and the salon, I'm not keen about going to the hairdressers but this Salon has a lovely feel - GO!!!!!
