In our quest to try places we've not been to before, we came across Joe's Pizza Napoli. What a great experience overall. It's not overly large and it's kinda tucked away in the back of the strip mall. It smelled great when we walked in and we were seated almost immediately by Kelly, who was also our server.
First the people. Everyone we saw and spoke to genuinely seemed happy to be there.
Kelly was the bomb. We had so many questions about the place, the food and the history. Without skipping a beat, Kelly had all the answers, all with a smile on her face. Thank you Kelly!
Now, the food.....
We had the Lasagna pizza, a plain cheese pizza and Tommy Meatball Bread Bowl.
The lasagna pizza had the most amazing sauce, meatballs and sausage on it. It had dollops of ricotta cheese on top as well. Y-U-M!
We always get a plain cheese pizza so that we can compare it to other pizza places we try. The plain cheese gets the same amazing "4G" marinara as the lasagna pizza. Honestly, it's one of the best sauces we've ever tried (they also sell it in jars near the register). GET SOME! So delicious.
Tommy's Meatball Bread Bowl was a great combo of the 4G sauce, the 10/10 homemade meatballs in a homemade dough bread bowl.
We luckily had leftovers which we happily packed up and took home. There were good reheat instructions printed on the box.
We recommended to Kelly that a meatball sub would be a hit on the menu for sure! We hope to see one on the menu next time we come in.
There are so many factors that make up a good pizza place. Atmosphere, people, high quality ingredients, cleanliness. Joe's hits on all cylinders.
They also have a food truck which Kelly told us was pretty unique and built by Joe himself. It was parked out back and we took a look as we left. I won't spoil the surprise, but, it's worth a look. Very cool!
We will most certainly be back to Joes Napoli Pizza!
