I stayed at Joey's Hostel based on a friend's recommendation and I was impressed. I called on the mobile number to seek details about the railway station that I need to get off and they were quite helpful with the info. ||The stay was comfortable. The staff were courteous and helpful. Their recommendations helped me see more tourist places more than I had planned for. They also arranged for a reliable auto persons to take me around the tourist places and to drop me off at the railway station. The cafe at the hostel offers great roof top view of the monument.||The hostel is a walking distance from the entry of the Taj Mahal which made it easy for me to go in early to visit the monument at 5 am. There a few restaurants in walking distance from the hostel.

"Dad you can touch the Taj Mahal!" my son said "Its so near." You could literally touch the Taj Mahal (the most beautiful building in the World) from the roof top terrace. We enjoyed countless breakfasts on the terrace whilst gazing at the gorgeous Taj Mahal. You couldn't get a better view while breakfasting. The rooms are very good but need to be cleaned more thoroughly. We found dirt on the cistern.

Room was decent for the price point. Stayed in a single room which was very clean, Wifi was good as well.. Only down side was it had a slight humid smell.. (Note: Tuktuk from Agra fort should cost around 100Rs if you directly flag off from the road, max 150Rs. Not knowing the price at the start when I alighted from my bus, I took my first tuktuk for 300Rs) Staff was helpful when I experienced issues with booking buses for my next trip and offered valuable advice. Location was the most perfect. It has a cafe with nice rooftop view. Taj Mahal is within walking distance, about 5mins away. I'll suggest to head to there around 6am when the weather is the most cooling and the least crowd, but still a huge crowd though 🙃 (Note: East gate is for online tickets entry, you can easily buy them on the spot which I did, took me 5mins maximum. Just ignore those Tourist guides)

Had an incredible stay! The views of Taj Mahal were stunning, the food was honestly the best I’ve ever had, and the atmosphere was amazing. The staff were super friendly and welcoming…special shoutout to Yash and Vivek for making the experience even more memorable. Can’t wait to come back

Rooms were cleaner than most places I've stayed in India. The sheets were immaculate but there was only a bottom sheet and the blanket didn't look like it had been recently laundered. We bargained down after seeing the rooms because the rooms weren't worth what they were asking at 3,000 rupees a night. Definitely no more than 1,500 depending on your room. Wifi was none existent. Rooms have a kettle, tea, coffee, loo roll and towels. Staff on reception were really helpful and kind. It is a refurbished hostel. The highlight is the buffet breakfast and the best rooftop terrace to see the Taj. We only stayed one night as there were some suspect smells in the stairwells and the rooms. Almost everything worked; air con, fans and mostly hot water in the showers except a few of the plug sockets and my friends kettle didn't work. We had separate rooms so we were able to share a kettle. Sockets either didn't charge or charged reeeeaaaaalllllyy slloooowlllllyyy. I would choose to pay more to stay in a hotel and use Joe's roof terrace (its outside not upstairs in the same building) for breakfast, amazing chai and views of the Taj.

Great hostel, rooftop restaurant has amazing views of the Taj Mahal (as well as the occasional mischievous monkey scooting by!) We had dinner there both evenings and the food accompanied by cold beers was very delicious, breakfast not so much. Location was stand out, with both Taj Mahal gates very close by. Especially important for us was the warm welcome and huge helpfulnessof the staff, esp. Devang. He guided us on an evening walk to view the Taj from the riverside, was a great story teller, very informative, an easy conversational style. Devang was very engaging and friendly, especially kind and gave loads of time and attention with a young boy who was part of the group. He was also very helpful organising a late night tuk tuk to the bus stand for us and arranging the driver stayed with us until our bus (delayed for over an hour) arrived after midnight. Exceptional welcome and service Dhanyavaad! from Maev and Ella

The best part of our stay was meeting hostel worker Rajiv who became our friend he took us around the local market and went the extra mile to ensure we paid local price was very kind and honest and fun. The room was amazing, the only issue that I had was that the stairways (in the common areas) the door frames, and the lounge area under the bed loft were all very short and it was very easy to hit your head on if you are tall (I am only 5 foot 11). When my partner arrived at 01:00 AM in the morning, the staff followed her to our room and hassled her to provide her visa and passport right away, despite us asking for some personal space for at least 10 minutes to reconnect after not seeing each other for several months. They were very rude and disrespectful and would not leave until they were asked more sternly. The location is good, the rooftop has a clear view of the Taj Mahal, however the rooms are not in the same building as the reception which requires a walk out onto the street and down an alleyway.
