John Distilleries (Paul John Visitor Centre)

This place is a hidden gem, only about 40 minutes' drive from Colva. Fifteen of us visited the distillery on 22nd of January for the distillery tour and various tasting packages. We were impressed with the site, everyone was polite and professional, the place was immaculate. We particularly enjoyed the company of our guide Lizel Fernandes who was knowledgeable about the distillery production process and the products produced there, she was also very entertaining, encouraging people in our group to ask questions and taking group photos for us. Our group tried different taste packages. Overall, everyone enjoyed the various products within each package, though some were not to everyone's tastes. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

I recently visited this distillery and had an excellent experience. The staff explained the entire distillation process clearly, which made the tour very informative. I opted for the tour package with 3 tastings and added the cask experience ,it was a highlight for me. The place was a little warm, but it didn’t affect the overall visit. Highly recommend for anyone interested in learning about whisky and enjoying a hands-on tasting experience.

It was my first visit to any distillery. I was very impressed with the entire tour and experience. Asmita our guide was highly knowledgeable and a fantastic tour leader. She made sure we had a great trip and also learn a few things about whisky. I highly recommend the tour and especially the tasting session as well.

Good distillery to visit for Single malt and Whiskey lovers. The guides are awesome and have good knowledge on Single Malts. Tasting is available as per band selection. You can buy select bottles from the retail store. There’s no restaurant on site, recommend good brunch before visiting as the tour is approx 2 hrs. Overall an awesome experience.

Great tour. Would recommend it to anyone, even if you're not interested in alcohol. I learnt more about taxation and other related things than fermentation! The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, and answered every single question with patience and in simple language. The area is quite pretty too, and very photo-friendly.

Visit Date: November 28, 2025 My visit to the Paul John Whisky Distillery was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The tour was well organized and genuinely informative, giving a great look into how their whiskies are made. Jizel was an excellent guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to listen to, making the entire tour enjoyable. The tasting session was just as good. Asmita made it fun and engaging, walking us through each whisky, explaining the flavors in a way that was easy to understand, and encouraging questions and discussion. One of the best parts of the visit was meeting brand ambassador Heemanshu. Chatting with him gave us real insight into Paul John’s history and what makes the brand stand out. His passion for the whisky and the story behind it truly added something special to the experience. Overall, it was a memorable visit and one I’d highly recommend to any whisky enthusiasts. 🥃

Highly recommend this tour to anyone curious about the craft of Indian single malts!

**do not be fooled by all these fake ‘local guide’ reviews. The tour itself is fine and the guide was personable and informative, but the tasting is a massive rip off! We paid 2500 rupees each for the blue premium package AND tasting straight from the cask, and the tiny amount they gave each of us was laughable for the price they charge. Honestly? I really would not bother. Instead do this.. Just buy yourself a bottle of Scottish or Irish, or Welsh, or Japanese single malt in the departure lounge in your country and drink that on the beach instead of being ripped off by Paul John at their tasting. 😆
