Johnny G's Cafe

This is said to be one of the oldest restaurants in Cabbagetown, and it definitely has that charming, long-standing neighborhood feel. The space is small but clean and stylish, with a cozy atmosphere that makes it easy to relax. The food was very good as well. I visited for brunch this time and really enjoyed the meal. I heard that they have live jazz performances in the evening, so I’d love to come back at night next time to experience that side of the restaurant.

Johnny G’s recently renovated into a classy Jazz restaurant. The atmosphere is very classy and relaxing. I love the new design and dim lighting. The Jazz band is excellent. The band isn’t too loud to still hold a conversation, which is a major plus for me. Rocky is a great host, and Natalie is a very sweet and attentive server. I had the quinoa salad and a cosmo martini. Very good. Highly recommend the restaurant for a relaxing and good vibes night out.

Went to see The Stone’s Trio at Johnny G’s Cafe tonight. Service 10/10, Shawn was a joy to be with and always attentive. Chefs were checking on us and the food ALL THE TIME. Definitely recommend. Most of the dishes we had were vegan and they were SO GOOD even my non-vegan friends asked for more. Oh, and needless to say, The Stone’s Trio were so wholesome too, sad to see they didn’t have that much of an audience, though. Will definitely come back in the future!😊

Got the chicken club sandwich and grand slam breakfast was great didn't have room for the sandwiches the grand slam filled me up perfect... guna eat the sandwiches in a bit but foood was good and tasted proper and im a picky eater and usually don't get full but u will after eating here :)

Super cute breakfast place! Was a little smaller than we thought it would be, but not in a bad way! Everything was really well designed and the food was delicious! Reasonable prices and wonderful service!

We went on jazz night. The atmosphere was wonderful. Food was amazing and service was friendly and quick. Music was lovely. Overall great experience.

Johnny G’s Café by the Chef is a hidden gem in Cabbagetown! The customer service was exceptional, and the chef truly knows his craft—every dish we tried was perfect. We had Chicken Biryani, Tandoori Chicken Legs, Garlic Naan with Butter Chicken, and Samosa Chaat—all bursting with authentic flavors. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The candlelight dinner added to the warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a fantastic spot for both casual outings and special occasions. I’ll definitely be back—highly recommend this place!

Vivik, Shane, and the whole team bringing something special to Cabbagetown! Joel on the saxophone was bringing proper jazz and the food was on point!...and really well priced for their late night vibe! Recommended!
