My wife and I were in Rochester for a conference and tried John’s Tex-Mex and they have really good Mexican food! We had the taco’s, chips with salsa and guacamole and few other dishes! Their original margaritas are legit! One will probably do it! Would highly recommend this place for Mexican food!

Google
This place rocks! Over the years we have eaten here several times. I would recommend this place to anyone that enjoys Mexican food or to anyone that is vegetarian/vegan. The menu isn't huge but everything is customizable to fit your dietary preference. The burritos here are a solid choice. Also the cops with queso sauce are really good. The location is nice, the downstairs had a large bar and the upstairs has quite a few sit down tables to eat at. The vibe is chill with a fun nature. The service staff have a laid back but with a "I got you covered" mentally. This really helps you feel taken care of and leaves you feeling like you made the right decision eating here.

This is really nice place to have a descent meal and a good drink. They got both bar seating and dining hall seating. Food was really good and portions were large. Prices were really reasonable, mot of the dishes were under 10 dollars. The margaritas are really good and strong. A tall house margarita could make you drunk 😂. We went on a Saturday night around 7.30 pm and there were no waiting. Place was not too crowded and both street and reserved parking was available. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Also they made the food ready within 15 minutes.

Google
Nice Americanized-Mexican restaurant. Typical cuisine; taco, salad, bowls, quesadilla, burrito, and chips. Reasonable prices. Plenty of seating and parking. Could use dimmer lighting for a better atmosphere. The bartenders are always very good, especially Clay.

Google
Fast service, good portions, good prices. They have a nice small outdoor patio, but seating is limited. Salsa is a bit spicy, but flavourful. Guacamole is fresh, but lacked flavour. Tacos (chick, pork, beef) were tasty. You can upgrade your guacamole from 4oz to 8oz for a small charge. Burritos are supposed to be good, so I’ll drop by next time to try them, It’s a good place to visit!

Google
We came as a large group (9) on a Tuesday and they were awesome! They were able to accommodate us, all of our food came quickly and was wonderful, the service was great, the drinks were perfect! Great place for an after kickball team dinner 🍽️🤾‍♀️🍹

Google
Visited the new location the other day it's really nice. They have a large dine in area now, it's upstairs. They have a new style of taco called Mex I think that was really good. It has radish on it which is great. The same nice staff still works there as well. They also have a larger bar now. Excited to go back soon.

Google
This place was delicious. Tacos and quesadilla were flavorful. Taco meat was delicious. Salsa was the best I've had in forever.

Yelp
Food- We love the unbeef tacos and the queso. Our kids really like the cheese quesadillas. Service- Everyone is nice and attentive. Ambiance- Cool southwest decor. Chill vibe. Large outdoor areas!

Yelp
In town for a conference and we got super hungry during set up. A local colleague grabbed some take out for us just before I started eating my own arm. Great chips and salsa! Interesting guacamole. The "basic burrito" was exactly what I needed with their extra spicy red and green side sauces. Everyone else really enjoyed what they had which was a combination of salads, tacos, burritos, and taco bowls. I would definitely check this place out again.

Yelp
Really great Mexican. Came in with some friends for dinner and had a great meal. Our server was great even though they were busy. It's a very clean restaurant. Food was fantastic. I had their enchiladas (chicken) and it was awesome! The rest of our table had a variety of tacos and burritos and everything was really tasty. Their house margaritas are good, too. Overall a great meal, great service, great place!

Yelp
Huge fan of john's tex Mex. Reasonably priced Mexican food, always out super quick. I almost always get the small burrito and it's the perfect meal size every time. Servers are always so nice. Love the local paintings and wall murals. There's a bar if you just want to grab drinks. There's outdoor seating in the back for nice days. I've never had to make a reservation but do if I have a large party. My favorite Mexican restaurant in Roc!

Ada A.

Yelp
Upon arriving i was greeted by eclectic music, a full bar and welcoming staff. The waitress was kind and provided some recommendations. I settled on the black bean bean mush tacos with shredded beef. My gf got the chicken tacos. Both were very delicious although her tacos was dripping heavily and soggy from a heavy pour of tomatoes.

Sierra S.

Yelp
Chicken tacos for the win! Happy Taco Tuesday. Also a win are their enchiladas, burrito bowl/burrito, empanadas and their chips and queso.

Kristen H.

Yelp
Great spot in the south Wedge with wonderful outdoor patio. This new location probably quintupled the size of their old space. Fabulous art on the walls inside with a huge full bar. The food does not disappoint. Shrimp tacos will give you a nice kick with a chipotle. The menu is pretty customizable so you can get whatever you want to eat

Yelp
For a drink, I tried the margarita with violet flavor. It came as a light pale purple drink. Mild flavor, not too sweet, salt on rim. Chips are ok. Guacamole was bland with some bits of hard unripe avocado, I was not impressed. The guac at Chipotle is way better. If you are gonna get chips with dip to share, get the Queso. That came out warm and was very tasty. The mexican mush without cheese is like a healthy bean dip, taste was ok. The chicken bowl with corn, tomato, tomatillo salsa, and peppers was ok/good, felt healthy. Not flavorful. Probably just needs a little salt, which is not on the table, but I didn't ask for it. The chimichanga is mostly refried beans and rice with a little cheese. I added pork, which added a little flavor/texture. The fried dough was nice. It was huge and probably wouldn't order it again as I don't think it's worth the calories. Ask for their green/red sauce to add to the dishes, otherwise they are kinda bland. The side of mashed potatoes and plantains is very good. Portions are huge and prices are good. Good for a family outing. Outdoor patio has large picnic tables. I'll go back if other people pick it, but probably won't seek it out on my own.

Grace R.

Yelp
Came here with a group of 8 and we sat outside on the picnic bench/table! There's plenty of seating outside and also indoor dining. Servers/staff were very friendly and considerate! I ordered the small chicken burrito- you can choose 2 fillings (in addition to rice and beans). It was a great portion for a great price (7.25 for small burrito)! Definitely will come again!

Kathleen C.

Yelp
Recommend ordering here. We ordered for a fundraiser and I had never been before. The order was ready on time, the staff was great and accommodating. Our order included the pork enchiladas (FYI for those who are picky, there are onions and peppers inside), pork tacos mex style (recommend), and chips with salsa and guacamole. The guac was one of the best I've ever had. The pork was not especially seasoned, which is why I didn't give 5 stars. I do wish the chips just had a little salt and lime, without any other seasoning. The chips are highly seasoned, a bit spicy. For those who prefer plain chips, don't order the chips. The salsa was spicy, so some of our party. Everyone was happy with their order. If you're part of an organization see about using them for an upcoming fundraiser, too.

Yelp
Had a great dinner at John's Tex-Mex! From the menu it didn't look too special, but we still wanted to give it a try. I was wrong! The ambiance is super cute! They were very packed on a weeknight and the service was a bit slow just because they were understaffed, but the servers were great and working as hard as the could! They also have an outdoor space. The food and drinks were all really good! We got the vegan quesadilla that was excellent and some different tacos. Everything was super flavorful and the portions were big. They only do vegan cheese on the quesadilla, but have a lot of vegan options that don't include vegan cheese. Will definitely be back!

Livia H.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here on a weeknight to try something new. I was pleasantly surprised with both the staff, food and atmosphere. Located on South Ave, the vibe when you walk in is bright and friendly. We were able to pick where we sat and took a small table against the wall across from the bar. Our waiter came over immediately with some menus- he was very upbeat and courteous. For drinks, I ordered a blood orange margarita and my boyfriend grabbed a beer. When I got the margarita I didn't feel like it tasted at all like blood orange. Our waiter happily swapped this out for me for a strawberry one and let my boyfriend have the blood orange one at no charge. Food wise we ordered some chips and queso to start and both opted for tacos for our entrees. The chips and queso was great- the tacos were excellent. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp tacos, I got the chicken, mex style. We each got a side of hot sauce as well. One of the unexpected things about my tacos I thought was really great was the addition of radish. I've never really been a huge radish person but these gave the tacos a nice bite against the cilantro and definitely helped make the dish. The price was very reasonably for the quality of the food and drinks and the staff was great. I ended up leaving my purse behind by mistake and they had already set it behind the bar for me until we doubled back to pick it up. 4 stars- would absolutely return again!

Yelp
Went with my classmates for a group dinner to celebrate end of semester -- it was able to accommodate a large group in their upstairs area (probably 20 or so people?). The wait staff was very kind especially how stressful Im sure it was waiting on so many people. It was standard good food -- I enjoyed it, nothing out of the ordinary to comment on.

Caitlyn R.

Yelp
John's Tex Mex is exactly that - plane Tex mex type foods. The decor and ambiance are pretty cool and basic. The staff super chill and friendly. The service is knowledgeable, accommodating And quick. The serving sizes are more than generous and the quality of the food is wonderful. I'm not that familiar with what Tex led actually is or tastes like so I'm not sure how authentic this is. I like and think moes is a step above this place (as commercial that is to say) with more flavor and options.

Thomas Z.

Yelp
Great food, and reasonably priced. Eclectic wait staff, who are friendly and efficient. Lots of indoor and outside seating. Free parking in their own lot.

Danielle S.

Yelp
Finally stopped in to the new location today for lunch. It's so much more spacious than the previous spot and I love the bright decorations. Lots of great mural art and paintings everywhere. This is still one of my favorite places for cheap eats. I got the burrito lunch special ($9 for a small burrito and side). The food is solid tex mex, if you're looking for authentic Mexican you may want to look elsewhere, but if you want a hot, delicious, affordable meal, this is a great option.

Stanley M.

Yelp
Great location, great old-school Tex-Mex food. If you're looking for food that harkens back to the Mexican food you remember from your youth, John's Tex-Mex is it. Of course, if you're still young (okay, okay... some call me a boomer), you'll hopefully remember this when you're my age. I like the location, though if you don't like stairs you'll want to be seated on the first floor where the bar is. When I went there with my son, I ordered tacos with pork & he had one of the burritos with extra ingredients added. It was almost as big as his head (and he has a big head!). Got chicken quesadillas and an order of black beans and rice to go for the Duchess. She loved 'em! (and she is one tough customer!). All in all, John's is a treat. Much better than any of the chain restaurants serving up tacos and such... great to see a local restaurant grow and prosper!

Martin C.

Yelp
Burritos were filling and scrumptious. Unlike some burritos where everything is mushed together, I could tell what I was eating with both my eyes and my tongue. The chips had a special seasoning that made them especially delicious, and the salsa was fresh. Great prices. Service was prompt and cordial. I might have given this restaurant five stars, except there were spider webs all along the corners, walls, windows, and ceilings, including a thick one over top of my head. A broom and a dust cloth would go a long way. I don't live here, but if I did, next time I'd probably order takeout or delivery. Hopefully, the webs are not indicative of other cleanliness issues.

Yelp
Ooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh itssssssssssssssss sooooooooooooooooooooooooo Greatttttttttttttt!! The Beef Fresca's are the BEST!

Alysse A.

Yelp
Small, local taco spot! We enjoyed it! The prices were a pretty high (which is the reason I gave it 4 stars) but overall we were very satisfied! The queso was some of the best I've ever had!!!

Dabe M.

Yelp
Thanks John's, for ruining all of the chain Tex Mex restaurants for me... No, really, that's a good thing! The new location, a little up the street from the old one, was a great move! The two story restaurant now has a patio, very nice bar and two smaller dining areas on the first floor and two large, nicely decorated dining rooms on the second floor with lots of windows for natural light and views of the various activities on the street. Also decent off street parking. I can't say enough about the staff. Every one of them has been an absolute delight offering menu suggestions and engaging in polite chit chat. Their efficiency is above and beyond. We were convinced that our last server was either a witch or a mind reader as refills and condiments appeared on the table just as we were about to request them. Love, love, love the food! Fresh ingredients, nicely presented... It's difficult not to fill up on the chips with your choice of house made salsa, guac or queso... Or just get all three. The burritos and bowls are overly generous (the small will likely be enough for most.) I will drive a little farther, and pass a couple of the chain stores, to enjoy the great offerings at John's... At a price that is actually a little lower than the chains... Well, at least before you tip your server. As mentioned previously, they really deserve some recognition. For me, John's is a favorite. Betting that they will be for you too!

Yelp
Dined in after viewing online menu and seeing all the great reviews. Wish I knew they had limited menu on Mondays because I went specifically for tacos which are NOT on the Monday menu. Ordered chips/guac and a burrito bowl with black beans, "un-beef" (seasoned meat substitute like impossible burger but not), lettuce, cilantro, tomato, cheese, tomatillo salsa, and chipotle ranch. PROS: nice outdoor patio seating, friendly and relatively quick service, plenty of street parking, chipotle ranch and "un-beef" had good flavor CONS: chips were very stale and tasteless, guac was browning by the time I received it and had no taste, limited menu Overall, I almost left after the chips/guac because they were surprisingly bad. If it weren't for the chipotle ranch and un-beef I'd say better to build a cheaper burrito bowl at home.

Quan Q.

Yelp
We went here for lunch. The chicken taco was good. I love their taco salad beef chili.

Yelp
First time to Rochester and John's Tex Mex, and I was really impressed. They had decent free parking, good space inside, clean bathrooms, customer service was good. I ordered from the bar for a take out order. Bartender was helpful, my order came out in a timely manner. The food was seasoned well, we had fish tacos & a fish burrito. They give you a nice serving of food. all the food was enjoyable and yes I shall return if IM in the area. Very easy to find on google.

Jessica D.

Yelp
Came here for taco Tuesday with a group of friends and was not disappointed. We ordered the chips and salsa/guacamole combo to start. I really liked their salsa a lot, it had big chunks of bright red tomato and a spicy kick to it. Guacamole was good too and tasted fresh. For our mains, we ordered the beef and chicken tacos. The beef was a little dry but the red hot sauce they give you on the side made up for that. I also really liked that it's shredded beef and not ground. If you get the hot sauce, be prepared for your mouth to be on fire (in a good way). The green sauce that they offer went well with the chicken tacos. Definitely not as spicy as the red sauce but it had a good fresh flavor. I love that you can order the tacos Tex or Mex style too, makes for a better variety. Server was pleasant as well. I'll definitely be back!

Kenya M.

Yelp
When this restaurant moved, it became clear i only loved them for their old space. It was so cool! In their new, modern building, they just need more salt on everything. The staff is always nice and attentive.

Jen K.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try this place out for awhile now.  I love Mexican,  and was excited by all the great reviews.  Unfortunately,  I didn't feel the same. I got chips and guacamole, and the chips were pretty good,  and were the best part of my order.  They had a red seasoning on them that made them pretty tasty. But the guacamole was tasteless,  and seemed just like the guacamole you can get in a pouch at the grocery store,  which also isn't good. But my burrito was just awful.  I don't like to even say that,  but I didn't like it at all.  I got a tofu burrito with rice,  lettuce,  tomato,  sour cream and cheese.  For some reason,  it was really hot.  But what part of what I got was spicy? I thought it must be the seasoning on the tofu,  but I pulled a piece out to eat it by itself,  and it wasn't hot.  However, hot or not,  I didn't like the seasoning on the tofu at all. I know there are reviews saying it was good,  so it must be personal preference, but I did not like it.  I don't think I've ever not finished a burrito in my life.  If it is too big,  I save the rest for later or something, but I ate a little more than half of this, and I was just done.  The service could also be improved.  I called to order,  and she answered "hello", so I didn't even know if I called the right place. Then when I picked up my food,  they greeted me,  but as I was signing my receipt,  someone asked them something,  and they didn't even acknowledge me again.  It was just strange.  And the screen door to the restaurant is in really bad shape. I disliked my burrito enough that it's safe to say I won't be back here to give it another chance.

Liz S.

Yelp
Stopped here because it had 4 stars but I would recommend checking something else. The salsa wasn't fresh and had an off putting taste. The burrito lacked flavor and the onions were inconsistently chopped, so you would get stuck with a big onion pieces. I gave 2 stars for the good service though!

Sylvia D.

Yelp
First time checking this place out. Cinco de Mayo fell on taco Tuesday this year. So not only did I want tacos I wanted a Margarita! Due to Covid-19, restaurants are not accepting dining in. I called around to see what restaurants offered Margaritas and they did!!!!!! Ok, on to the review..... I tried out the chipolte-honey shrimp tacos, garnished with lettuce, onion lime and garlic aioli. To be honest, after my first bite I was a little concerned I thought it lacked flavor, but I just think things shifted around transporting the tacos home. It was delish! I will definitely be ordering this again. For the Margaritas, yes I ordered 2 .... I ordered the original and wanted to try out the spicy Margarita. They were both good! I don't know that I would be ordering the spicy in the future due to the texture for me. I am weird with textures. Flavor was good though. I will definitely be ordering the original in the future. Thanks for the food! It was great!

Cassie S.

Yelp
Mhm... yummy yummy. About food: I LOVED the house fried tortilla chips and queso. As an entree, I ordered a beef burrito with refried beans, which was good; but, I was slightly disappointed to find out it was shredded beef and not ground beef. My partner ordered a beef and cheese quesadilla, which was AMAZING. I had a few bites myself to confirm. The shredded beef was a much better fit for the quesadilla. About service: We had a SUPER friendly waiter, which was great, but he was a bit absentee at times. The place seemed short-staffed and perhaps even a tad bit overwhelmed with take-out orders. Saw at least 10 different people pick up their takeout in the 45 minutes we were there. About atmosphere: The restaurant was trendy, clean, and decently-spaced out for a small building. I think they could've had the air conditioning cranked up higher since it was a hot, muggy day - and because I broke a sweat while eating my burrito lathered in hot sauce. Overall: I think I'll try the quesadillas again or some sort of sampler next time and dress in more comfortable clothes for hot weather while eating inside.

Lauren S.

Yelp
Consistently great service and fantastic food and a friendly, welcoming, inclusive atmosphere. Wish I could give more stars!!

Amy L.

Yelp
John's Tex Mex was an awesome way to start a puppy adventure. Since my fiancé and I have two different diet types it's hard finding something everyone can enjoy. Johns did not disappoint. The space is beautiful including the outside patios. ( despite a little construction) My pups got attention and a little dish of water and couldn't be happier. The staff was fully masked, attentive, and kind toward my fuzzy companions. The food was big and every ounce worth it! Fiancé got an un-beef burrito while I had a chicken quesadilla. My quesadilla was stuffed with chicken tomatoes and cheese. Will definitely be back sooner than later.

Darrell K.

Yelp
Good food, great staff and nice atmosphere We went recently and sat outside. We both got burritos. One wrapped and the other a bowl. The only complaint was that I'm allergic to tomatoes and they're mixed into the cauliflower rice. Worse it's not listed on the menu. But other than that everything has always been awesome

Tiffanie G.

Yelp
I had the chicken quesadilla and it was very cheesy and full of flavor. My boyfriend ordered a burrito bowl with chicken & corn. The prices were very reasonable. Both our meals came to $25 with a drink and chips & salsa. The ingredients were sooo fresh and the chips were warm. The staff were very friendly. The new location is very spacious and there is plenty of seating on the 2nd floor. Overall if you love Tex-Mex, John's is the place to go!

Deprina G.

Yelp
We spent a lot of money here thinking it was going to be amazing but it was not. the beef on my tacos were on top of the filling so it was cold and kind of dried out. I was suppose to have sour cream--had none. I had the burrito and it was the only thing that was hot. by the way, we walked in and ordered so everything should have at least been warm. We only lived 5 minutes away. Looks like a great place to drink on the weekends bec it is slow so I would suggest taking big parties here for drinking.

Jason M.

Yelp
First timer, and I had the pleasure of the new location! Seated on South avenue down the street from where the old location sat, off street and on street parking available, and they are serving beer! Brightly decorated inside, with a great color palette and decor that pops, with lots of original designs and even great Rochester made metal hot sauce servers! A well designed menu, with great apps, including tortilla chips, Mexican mush, and chili! Fresca tacos, bean tacos, and Mexican mush tacos, huge burritos, giant quesadillas, and taco salad! I went for Taco Tuesday, and they delivered! I ordered 3 chicken tacos Mex Style, and they were killer! Chicken, radish, onions, cilantro, queso fresco, and done on corn tortillas! The side of rice and refried beans had a slight taste of cinnamon to it which was a pleasant surprise!

Andrew A.

Yelp
Small little spot that I decided to check out today based on recommendations from friends. They had 4 tables set up outside, so not busy or crowded, I like that. Prices on the menu were inexpensive, another bonus! I ordered 3 tacos ($9.50). The wait for the food was longer than I'd expect from a place that wasn't busy. I went with one beef, one chicken, and one fish (not on the menu, recommended by the server). The beef taco was bland, the meat didn't taste seasoned at all, and it was overpowered by lettuce. A healthy dash of some cholula saved it slightly. Next, I had the fish taco. The fish was well seasoned and grilled perfectly, and the chipotle ranch sauce was bangin'. This was the best of the 3. My only recommendation to the establishment - you can be much more generous with sauces! The chicken taco was loaded up with meat, chicken was seasoned decently as well. I'll definitely return for another fish taco, and to try out some other menu items!

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Decided to come to this place since I heard they give out an ungodly amount of food, which means I have to try it to see if they really do. And they definitely do. We started with the chips and guac for an appetizer ($3.25). The chips were tasty but the guacamole was kinda flavorless which was disappointing. It could definitely use some fresh garlic and/ or salt. Their salsas on the other hand are incredible. They are on the table already (aka "free") and have a green one and a red one (doesn't have a name on the bottle so I'm referring to them by color). The green one was by far my favorite. It had a really nice spiciness and fresh flavor. The red one was a more smoky kind of flavor with even more spiciness. I ate most of my chips with these salsas instead of the guac, which is saying something because avocados have a special place in my heart. I ordered the small burrito with pork, corn and red onions ($5.25) and added guac (+$1). I do wish they let us do as many toppings as we like but the corn and red onion worked for me, especially after adding the amazing green salsa. Also, the burrito was HUGE. Like the size of a full chipotle burrito except you're paying $6.25 instead of $9 or up. The burrito was delicious and I was in a food coma that I did not expect. I would say that the meat could also use more seasoning. The servers were super nice, and really made sure you never ran out of water (I was chugging glasses from the spiciness). The food overall was tasty but I would say not as tasty as chipotle, but is cheaper. But I would definitely go again to have some of that green salsa! PS sorry for the blurry pic, my phone decided to go flash mode and it was v embarrassing so I was half taking a pic/ half hiding

Yelp
So if you guys are looking at pictures posted before 2019, it's misleading. They CLEARLY remodeled and for the better! It's a chic double floor Tex Mex location. Currently they don't have their liquor license but I'm sure it will be hoping even more once they do. Enjoyed the food they offered, my husband and I shared the Mexican plate. Really yummy! Definitely go and give it a try.

Khoa L.

Yelp
John's Tex-Mex is a cute little authentic looking Mexican restaurant in South Wedge. My coworker wanted some Mexican food one day and introduced me here. I don't eat out a lot unless invited by friends. There's street parking, although it can be shady at night. It's a relatively small restaurant but they have outdoor seating in the back, which we opted for. I wasn't feeling that hungry that night so I believed I got a taco salad of some kind, which was not bad. Service was good considering how busy they seemed to be that time. There are a bunch of shops around that you can check out after dinner.

Becca C.

Yelp
Such an amazing restaurant, I'm upset I waited this long to come and I will definitely be going back soon. The prices are unbelievable for the quality of food and drinks and there's pretty much something for everyone on the menu. I love the variety of proteins that you can get for each menu item and the option for cauliflower rice (which is amazing). The service did leave a little something to be desired but honestly the food was so good it didn't even matter. A must visit if you love Mexican and are tired of the basic chains.

Nisha S.

Yelp
This spot is amazing and I'm so happy they are open during covid. The prices were reasonable and I love their selection of liquor; definitely the go to spot in Rochester.

Janine G.

Yelp
Visit on 01FEB20 - When first entering, it appears rather small, however that first impression is deceiving as there are two floors with several dining areas. Even though we arrived at the height of lunch hour, our party of four were seated immediately and service was prompt and friendly. I had the taco salad which comes in a fried tortilla bowl filled with yummy goodness (chili, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, black olives, roasted red peppers and cheese) and then finished off with a drizzle of chipotle ranch dressing and sour cream. Yes, I fell in love! John's Tex-Mex got it right all the way down to the festive southwestern decor and artwork throughout. I'll be back!

Yelp
Allllllright. I tried to eat here 3 days in a row. I could have accomplished this if they weren't closed Sundays! ;-) It's THAT good!! Friday night dined in. Saturday got take out. Tried for takeout again Sunday - but that's their day off. Boo hoo. Great new 2 story space with table service and a full bar!! (Loved the old tiny cozy location but this is a whole new feel). The servers and host/hostess/bartenders are always super friendly and accommodating. The portions are large and prices very reasonable. 5 big sta

Yelp
Great place, one of my favorites. The new place is beautiful. Great art work and soooo roomy! Same great food and a great atmosphere. The liquor license will be here by the end of May. Only thing out of shrimp tacos and queso the first day...a busy lunch.

Yelp
We come here almost every Monday! They have great options all week - but on Monday's they have a great vegan special after 4pm (check their Facebook page to see what it is) and queso (traditional and vegan). They are VERY affordable - many items are under $10 and you'll be full, and there's a variety of lunch/dinner combos you can get... you have your pick of tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, tostadas... delicious sides like Mexican mush (black beans), mashed potatoes/plantains, guac, salsa. There's also beer and different sodas if you're into that! The people that work there are always friendly and attentive. The seating area is relatively small (can probably seat less than 20 people), so plan ahead. We usually go around 5pm on our way home from work, but later in the evening might be busier. One thing they do that's funny is whenever I look at our receipt, it's rounded up by 2-3 cents to the nearest 5-10 cent? I'm not sure what that's about, but I hope they use it for good because I love it there! Haha.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went here for a date night over the summer per my coworkers recommendation. My boyfriend got two burritos. I got the tacos and rice & beans. We also got two appetizers... we were very hungry. The food was very mediocre. I initially compared it to Silver Iguana which I also had a bad experience at. The food gets super soggy very quickly. They use the same spice in everything... in all of their meats, the rice, the beans, etc. My boyfriend will eat ANYTHING and even he couldn't finish his burrito.

Yelp
YUMMM! Un-beef tacos were a champ! The place itself is really small and retro-like, something you'd normally still be comfortable to enter in. The lady that worked there was so sweet to me and suggested these tacos as my first time trying this place out. So so so glad I got to taste it and I'm telling you, it's soooo good. The un-beef legit tasted like real beef and the flavors on it were so yummy and authentic as it can be. It's pretty massive with two tacos for one person but not once I was getting tired of eating it. I devoured it and asked for two more for later on the day. I mean, just try it for yourself and you'll thank me later.
