Amazing place next to the lake. Since nobody was there we could check in via Campio, which was super easy. The facilities are well kept and I loved their concept of inclusion: a wheelchair accessible walk of about 2km including and entry to the beach with a special mat so you could access all the way to the water with a wheelie. The bathrooms for families and the possibility to wash and use the kitchen. Next to the lake a BBQ area with seating and a Sauna (which was closed when we were there). Definitely a “want to come again” spot.

Nice campground with year-round spots, short te spots and cabins. All nicely scattered around. Good shower and toilet facilities and really helpful and nice owners. Walking around after storm Hans was a bit more challenging than normally would be, but still a nice scenery!!!

Beautiful place. The owners are lovely. We payed 560 nok for a small cabin per night. It was clean and had everything we needed. The place itself has a great ,clean facilities, a big playground for kids, a sauna and FREE to use kanus for a paddle around the lake. Definitely, would recommend! ✨

September 2016, Stayed in a larger cabin with shower and toilet 3 bedrooms/ coffeemaker/ running water and cooking availability. Owners are very nice and helpful. Did one of the hikes around the campsite, the scenery is more like Sweden, but still a very nice hike. in this period they did not turn on the campsite lights, where we got to see this beautiful night sky full of stars and the milky way. towards the north some parts of the Northern lights were visible! One thing, if preferred, Wifi only available at the reception area/ small kiosk with needful things:) and fresh bread in the morning (order the day before)

Best camping I’ve ever been! The location is wonderful, you can park your van on the shores of a wonderful lake. Staff is friendly and helpful; facilities are well maintained and super clean; there is a very cozy common space in the reception area where you can also eat.

Very good location. But the place is rundown. The couple running the place was very nice, but more occupied in running the farm than the place. The sitting room was not open all the time, and in spite of having liecence for selling beer etc., there were never anyone attending the bar, or what ever, in the three night we were there. Fishing can be very good, and we did catch some big once.

A group of us have been coming to Johnsgaard Turistsenter for a good number of years.||It is definitely the people who run Johnsgaard that make the place so special. They are warm hearted and will lift your soul. ||||The self catering cabins are very cute and warm. They have well equipped kitchenettes, a log burning stove, a sitting room, bedrooms and bathroom and shower facilities. ||||There are lots of activities and they have two saunas (one by the lake and another by their man-made beach) and a hot tub. They frequently hold community events there and there is an annual music festival held every August with a mixture of Scandinavian folk music, rock music and Irish traditional music! ||||If you want a break away from the hectic-ness of the world... go here. It is quite isolated but that is the beauty of it. They do have a small shop for supplies such as milk, toilet roll, snacks etc.

While I have stayed here before, this is not my favourite place. If you like hiking in the woods, canoeing and fishing, and during the winter, cross-country skiing, this is the place for you. ||This is a farm, and is very family-friendly, they have animals that children would probably enjoy seeing. ||||The cabin was nice, with a small kitchen/kitchenette and three bedrooms, two of them with two single beds and one with a double bed. There is no tv in the cabins, and no internet/wifi. They have a small kiosk, which is also where you check in.||||All in all, it is a nice place to stay, but it just isn't for me, as I prefer a bit more comfort when on vacation.
