JOIA by Pizzeria Des Moulins

Food: We ordered two dishes. The pasta sauce was a little sour but acceptable. It came with bread which was hot and unexpectedly tasty! Even my parents gave it high praise. The pizza base could be done better, although the ham delighted us. Service: The servants came over to check every some time. We appreciated that! Free biscuit sticks on the table are a plus. Atmosphere: This is on the third floor - do not be confused with the second floor, which is actually a bar. We almost thought that we were lost until reaching a level higher... Toilet is on the ground floor, for your information. Conclusion: 4 stars might be too generous, given that we were more satisfied elsewhere in the town (eg. the kitchen in our own apartment!). Thanks to the amazing river just a block away, which we walked past on our way, we are giving a rating with that vivid impression in mind.

Overall, I’d say the quality was average. The pizza dough, which I consider a key part, was actually below average. The tomato sauce was decent, somewhere around medium quality but given the rating, I expected more. The place does have a few outdoor tables, which is a nice touch, though we couldn’t sit there as it was too crowded.

Honestly great Pizza, but the atmosphere? non-existant. It‘s a shame, you come in and you are greeted by a weird black marble room where you are given a ticket to get seated in an upper floor. The stair is fine but both floors just don‘t have a comfortable vibe at all. I was hoping for a cozy dinner, but we ended up just ordering one pizza and left right after to go somewhere nicer to just enjoy food and a chat.

Undoubtedly the best pizza and calzone in town! Super chewy and dense taste The dough has so many flavors inside and the burrata and mozzarella are amazingly tasty and fresh! Thank you for enriching this tasteless food town!

Phenomenal Pizza! The dough is of high quality, with the perfect texture and easily digested. We were very impressed with the quality of the topings, they don't use any canned vegetables here, everything is fresh and top quality. The olives were marinated and full of flavor! Our go-to order was the 4 stagioni.

The best pizza experience I have ever had! The staff were lovely and friendly throughout our two trips to this restaurant- it was that good! The pizzas were phenomenal both nights - I will not be looking at another pizza in England the same now! The burrata was amazing and delicious. The variety of pizzas available was incredible and all the staff were so welcoming and attentive. I love the fact you can see them making the pizzas downstairs and then sent up to your floor!

Amazing gluten free pizza - highly recommend as gluten free options are seemingly few and far between in Chamonix. No extra charge for the base was also very nice. Would recommend!

Pizza was nice, burrata was squirting all over the pizza I dont know if this is right but generaly a nice place to eat food. The service was a biy strange to be fair it took a bit to realise that I was there and serve me but I dont judge that as that is a busy evening. Nice place tho 4 stars

Fantastic pizza place. Definitely make a reservation - they are popular and fill up quick! If they are full though, they do take away and trust me, it's worth it to try their pizza. Everything is so fresh and tasty.

Best pizza in Europe!

Certainly the better pizza place in Chamonix. Lighter, fresher ingredients and more tomato sauce than cheese. Fluffy crusts. Bumped to 5 stars from being €20 each for pizza, beer or wine, and a generous (for France) 12.5% tip. Reservations a must on Thurs/Fri when we went.

This review is not for there pizza restaurant but rather for their new pasta restaurant "la pasta" they recently opened. Reasonably priced, very large portions , and wow, amazing quality. We had there porcini with truffle oil ravioli and the daily special of pumpkin gnocchi. Definitely unique and wonderful. Highly recommend Italian pasta restaurant in central Chamonix. Above ground and unique underground cave dining room just add more ambiance to the husband wife team that run the 2 different pizzeria moulin restaurants.

I've tried pizza throughout the U.S and Europe. This is my far the best pizza I have ever tried! The people working there are very helpful and welcoming. The pizza itself was delicious! I had the porcini and it was fresh and flavorful! The prices are fair and much more affordable them most places at Chamonix! The portions are copious! I recommend this place 100%
