JOIA by Pizzeria Des Moulins

Food: We ordered two dishes. The pasta sauce was a little sour but acceptable. It came with bread which was hot and unexpectedly tasty! Even my parents gave it high praise. The pizza base could be done better, although the ham delighted us. Service: The servants came over to check every some time. We appreciated that! Free biscuit sticks on the table are a plus. Atmosphere: This is on the third floor - do not be confused with the second floor, which is actually a bar. We almost thought that we were lost until reaching a level higher... Toilet is on the ground floor, for your information. Conclusion: 4 stars might be too generous, given that we were more satisfied elsewhere in the town (eg. the kitchen in our own apartment!). Thanks to the amazing river just a block away, which we walked past on our way, we are giving a rating with that vivid impression in mind.

Pizza was great and that’s coming from a pizza guy! Staff were really friendly, and the owner was back there making pizza all night. Over all great experience. I don’t have much more knowledge of pizza in the area but I would visit this again when I come back.

Clean , good welcoming at the entrance, clean , warm , English menu & english speaking waters. Extraordinary pizza & delicious pasta I recomend for pizza lover.

This place was listed at the #1 restaurant according to TripAdvisor, and the experience definitely lived up to it. Ambiance, from lighting to decoration to seating was wonderful; a modern mix of cozy and chill. The service was excellent. As non-french speakers we were greeted and served in fluent English. They checked in on us the appropriate amount of times, and apologized for having a slight delay on the main course. All with a smile. Food was great, aside from some points that might be personal preference: - The garlic bread entree had excellent taste and the best dough I've ever had, but the cheese and dough separated somewhat easily. - The pizza's sauce was still a bit liquid-y for my personal taste. - They provide you with roller blade to cut your own pizza. This is a modern and unique twist on the pizza-restaurant experience, but honestly unnecessarily messy to me. Aside from the nit-picky details above, we had a wonderful time and will likely return soon. Definitely would recommend.

I went there with good ambition and order a Pizza (Mote Blanc). 5 hours later te food poisoning struck me like hell. I have never experienced anything similar. Was nocked out for 2 days and must half of my skiing vecation. It was Friday 27/3. Maybe it was the Roccula salad or some thing else. Do NOT go there if you want to ski afterwards. So irrogant to do this in a restaurant in Chamonix. I have been working as a doctor in Nepal for several months and not a single time I got poisoned by food!

Was easy to book and pizza was great! Just a bit cold inside and I wish they had more hot drinks options, eg Glühwein or similar

Phenomenal Pizza! The dough is of high quality, with the perfect texture and easily digested. We were very impressed with the quality of the topings, they don't use any canned vegetables here, everything is fresh and top quality. The olives were marinated and full of flavor! Our go-to order was the 4 stagioni.

could not enter restautant with ski boots, so we ate outside but really really good

Best pizza in Europe!

Fantastic pizza place. Definitely make a reservation - they are popular and fill up quick! If they are full though, they do take away and trust me, it's worth it to try their pizza. Everything is so fresh and tasty.

Certainly the better pizza place in Chamonix. Lighter, fresher ingredients and more tomato sauce than cheese. Fluffy crusts. Bumped to 5 stars from being €20 each for pizza, beer or wine, and a generous (for France) 12.5% tip. Reservations a must on Thurs/Fri when we went.

This review is not for there pizza restaurant but rather for their new pasta restaurant "la pasta" they recently opened. Reasonably priced, very large portions , and wow, amazing quality. We had there porcini with truffle oil ravioli and the daily special of pumpkin gnocchi. Definitely unique and wonderful. Highly recommend Italian pasta restaurant in central Chamonix. Above ground and unique underground cave dining room just add more ambiance to the husband wife team that run the 2 different pizzeria moulin restaurants.

I've tried pizza throughout the U.S and Europe. This is my far the best pizza I have ever tried! The people working there are very helpful and welcoming. The pizza itself was delicious! I had the porcini and it was fresh and flavorful! The prices are fair and much more affordable them most places at Chamonix! The portions are copious! I recommend this place 100%

Seems to be popular with the locals. Must have a reservation! Food was good. Our waiter was not very personable?
