I ordered the 55-baht bowl — pork meatballs, egg, ginger, and spring onions all in one. Sounds simple, but the taste? Unreal. You get six or seven big, juicy pork meatballs in one bowl! The broth is rich and silky, and the mix of egg, ginger, and green onion is perfectly balanced. They even give you a generous amount of fresh ginger. The rice is cooked until it’s almost creamy, and the pork on top is bouncy and full of flavor, with a hint of black pepper that ties everything together. I actually paused for a second after the first spoonful..! it was that good. Every bite was comforting and full of depth. I found myself slowing down near the end just to make it last a little longer. So simple, yet so perfect. 🍚💯

Jok sam yan is an absolute gem for authentic Thai breakfast! Their delicious congee is incredibly flavorful and offers amazing good value. The fast service and friendly staff make for a wonderful casual dining experience with a true local feel. Prices are super affordable, and it’s great you can order plain porridge refills. Highly recommended!

Came here to try this porridge which the locals called jok. Didn’t know that Sam Yan is a market place with lots of other eateries. Porridge here is frequently by locals. The steaming bowl of pork porridge came with at least 4 good sized meat balls and liver, intestine and stomach. They garnish the porridge with lots of ginger slices and spring onion. Porridge is tasty enough so no need to add sauces. Will return when I revisit Bangkok.

This joke spot is no joke! The flavor and quality is unmatched. Could eat it with out any spices or sauce, it's that good. Just don't forget to come early before the chinese donut spot is sold out across the street. Staff here is super friendly and welcoming. Solid 5 stars. Can't wait to come back!

Came in the morning for a quick breakfast as I was recommended by a friend to try it out. Decent porridge but nothing to scream about. Pork liver was overcooked. The other ingredients are ok. Porridge wasn’t hot enough.

Yummy comfort food; the magic is in the meatballs, so much so they sell the raw meat mince seperately. They have an air con space which helps you duck away from the heat. And finally discovered them on Grabfood and ordered it again to the hotel the next day. Had a very happy breakfast before my flight!

This is easily one of the 🍲best porridges I've had in 🇹🇭Thailand. The century eggs are among the finest I’ve ever tasted and the minced pork balls are also some of the best! Highly recommended! The restaurant was filled with locals. This place is impeccably clean and well-maintained with excellent hygiene standards. The staff are incredibly friendly too. I noticed a constant stream of GrabFood riders picking up takeaways. Plus, it’s a super budget-friendly breakfast.
