Jolly Beach Resort & Spa

The beach, the sea and the views are the reason to come here, it’s beautiful here. We were greeted by friendly staff and delicious rum punch drinks on arrival, check in was quick and we were on our way to our room, we chose to stay on a higher floor because we don’t mind stairs and like the view from a higher floor. We could easily walk to the beach, restaurants and pool. ( I wouldn’t recommend this for older persons who cannot easily climb stairs ) But they do have ground floor rooms. This beach is beautiful, perfect for long beach walks and a very relaxing environment. I do think they could add more of the in water rings that you can lay in and relax, because those do get busy and people tend to stay in them for hours at a time. I would also suggest having pool noodles and other items guests can enjoy during the day at the pool. ( no one wants to buy these items because you can’t take them with you) There are plenty of loungers and built in shade shelters, we never felt like we had to fight with others for a spot on the beach. ( which is the worst feeling when your trying to enjoy your vacation ) There are two pools, one shallow pool, the quiet pool for a cool down and reading area. Then there is the main pool with a swim up bar, fountain, hot tub, volleyball area and a restaurant right at the pool. The pool restaurant offers a few hot options during the day if you don’t want to leave the beach area for lunch at the buffet. The one thing I would recommend is that they offer fresh fruit as well at this restaurant because it would elevate the experience. The beach bar is busy, but the staff are friendly and service is fairly quick. I would bring a travel drink container with a lid ( Stanley Cup) so you can avoid getting sand in your drinks on windy days. Breakfast was definitely our favourite meal and they had omlet and pancake stations at the buffet to order yours with the toppings of your choice. My honest opinion is that if you came for the beach, you will love Jolly Beach!

Perfectly fine if you don’t expect a 5* service from a 3* hotel! The staff is friendly and nice, a bit relaxed (Caribbean style), but can’t blame them! The food was good and quite varied. Has an issue in my room, and was moved to a much better one the next day. The main thing was the beach - one of the best on the island. Overall, I’m happy with my holidays there!

Well what can I say !! We have just had the most amazing holiday at the jolly beach in Antigua!! The beach is absolutely breathtaking with stunning sunsets. All the staff here are so friendly but a special mention must go to Lorenzo, Terrance and Clinton for going that extra mile with the food and beverage especially on the Gold and Black night on New Year’s Eve - absolutely superb 🍽️ The food and menu at the pizza restaurant was excellent and only surpassed by the most attentive waitress Tiana who made our evening dinner so very special x We had many a wonderful time at the Long Bar where we were welcomed with excellent service by Anestine, Patrick and Jay who make the most delicious cocktails 🍹we absolutely loved Mangroves bar and restaurant, the staff were brilliant especially Nicky and Madison who had our drinks on the bar ready as soon as they saw us arrive!! We cannot fault the service they were fantastic!! Last but definitely not least is a big thank you to John Murphy who has made our stay at jolly beach so memorable. We will definitely be returning to experience Jolly Beaches hospitality again and we wholeheartedly recommend Jolly Beach to anyone who wants a wonderful, laid-back beach holiday with excellent service.

Got a last minute booking when our Jamaican trip was cancelled and didn't have high hopes after reading some of the reviews. Well, it surpassed our expectations. Fabulous beach, not busy, no seaweed, plenty of sunbeds and that glorious warm sea. Hotel room was fine. Not luxurious, a little dated, but clean with good balcony. OK, the air con dripped but a small towel solved that issue. Rooms only cleaned once a week, extra cleaning can be paid for. No construction noise (phew!). Low key entertainment (phew!) Lovely friendly atmosphere. Buffet never crowded, lots of options. Able to get restaurant bookings every time we wanted them.|Very convenient location. Bus stop and supermarket very close. As well as using the buses, we also hired a car to explore. We thought that 'our' beach was the best in terms of cleanliness, no rocks, oodles of sunbeds and SO uncrowded.|The only niggle was the music from the pool bar was too loud and so we didn't sit out on our balcony. Easy solved - go to other side of beach for peace.|No bells and whistles, just a down to earth hotel on a fabulous beach at a bargain price! We'll be back!

Our 7th visit and again we had a truly wonderful stay at this Jolly Hotel. We had been for three weeks in December and when we got home to the miserable weather in England we decided to return for another three weeks and also celebrate a Birthday. |The views from the rooms look out on that ever changing sea with shades of turquoise and azure blues. It is wonderful to swim in the warm waters and the long beach is definitely the best on the island. |At 8am in the morning when going for our swim in the big pool the beach was almost empty except for someone from Security and a local.|One of us is Vegetarian and no problem with the choice of food, and with a live cooking Station also. We wish the outdoor kitchen by the Swimming Pool Bar served sandwiches as the choice is mainly meat burgers, chicken wings, etc., although there is a Veggie Burger with chips and salad. It is nice to be able to stay in swimwear and have lunch instead of getting ready for the long walk to the restaurant.|From the General Manager to all the other staff we have always found them very pleasant and helpful. Need to remember that they are actually working and sometimes things don't go right, and being polite to them helps. We see staff who have been there years and a few from Cocobay where we went twenty times.|Our room had a lovely view and was very clean. Room towels are available daily if you need them but we are well aware of the water shortages locals experience so don't change ours every day as we are clean when we get out of the shower and they dry quickly outside on the rack. Same with the sheets on the bed. |Evening entertainment varies and we heard an amazing male singer one evening. |Meals can be taken Inside the restaurant or outside. |So looking forward to our next longer trip in a few days time.

We read reviews but we found it better than expected but some previous reviews were accurate.|On arrival, scanning a code to book in online was a pain. We were first in Q but ended up last .... told our assistant was being trained.|We were in room 3345. Yes, dated and small with little storage. No fridge was worst point. Aircon worked but always leaked water. Room ceiling leaked on last night during heavy rain. We used towels to soak up and told reception. |Lovely beach.|Less vendors at left side rather than in front of hotel.|Food always good.|2 or 3 hours singer/s at night .... nothing during day.|Big shop but not lot in it. Big supermarket 5 mins walk away.|Plastic glasses .... my pet hate. About a third pint size! Safety, fair enough by pool but only place you got glass was in a la Carte place.|If staying over a week, housekeeping once. Or pay for it ....|Public areas clean and tidy enough.|Expect to pay about £200 tourism tax for 12 night.|Also, a deposit re damage.|Beach towels available.|Lots if sunbeds, but not mattress ones.|A la Carte..... need to book, we did twice and both earliest time of 6.30. No this, no that, even then.|Information meeting 9.30am was good .....|Trip wise ..... lots of boats. We did pink panther .... jot enough time at Nelsons dockyard.|Overall, yes, I'd recommend this budget hotel on expensive island.

Excellent value for money - staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are basic but clean, and the beds are comfy so you will sleep well which is the main thing! Beach is right on the doorstep and there is an outside bar/ pool bar. The food is actually quite decent - way better than I originally thought it would be, which is great! Its close to rhe harbour and supermarket too, in case you want to venture out. Really enjoyed my stay here and will definitely return :)

When we arrived to check in we were charged 168 US Dollars for tourists tax for 2 people for 1 week. We were then informed that they wanted another 200 Dollars US as a deposit, Wow!!! Then upon reading the small print I realised that if you wanted your room cleaned it would be another 10 Dollars US a day, not a good start for a so called all-inclusive holiday. During our stay most of the staff were really nice but unfortunately some are really rude and don't deserve to be working in hospitality. We liked the food, especially the burgers by the swimming pool. The rooms are very basic with a small double bed which to be honest was very comfortable. The best thing this hotel has going for it is location, the beach here and scenery are world class to say the least. The hotel swimming pool is also very good. Be warned that from Dusk until Dawn and some you will be attacked endlessly by mosquitos, they especially like ankles. Plenty of spray and bracelets mostly does the trick
