Jollyboys Backpackers

The hostel is spacious and well-organized. It's a beautiful space. It's very close to the Livingstone Museum, in the city center. It's within walking distance from the downtown, and there are good food options nearby. The hostel offers a free shuttle to the falls and the border with Zimbabwe, which is great. There was a power outage in the city, but the hostel remained powered. I believe they have their own generator. There's a restaurant on site that serves food all day, but they only accept cash. I stayed in a shared room, and I think it needs some improvements. The bed linens were yellowed, and the mattress looked old. The room had a strange smell despite having the air conditioning on all the time. Mosquito nets in the room would also be helpful, as it's an area with a malaria risk. Aside from these issues, it was comfortable staying in the shared room, which is spacious. I recommend Jollyboys as one of the best options for staying in this area.

A fabulous budget place to stay, very well set up for the economy-conscious traveller. Whilst aimed at the younger backpackers, it was absolutely fine for our family of 4 as well - clean albeit tired in places. Good pool, bar and relaxing areas. Bunk beds quite precarious and a little challenging, but all part of the fun. Fantastic customer service and support - but beware of the laundry service which might result in misshapen clothing.

Jollyboys is a perfect place to stay in Livingstone on a budget! The staff are lovely and really helpful. You can arrange all of your activities and trips through the front desk including getting a free airport pickup and shuttle to Victoria falls. Great kitchen, reliable wifi. I can't say enough good things about my stay and will definitely be back when I travel through Livingstone.

Jollyboys is a great place to stay, especially if you need a place to rest and reset for a bit. Most of the staff were really amazing and went above and beyond to help out, make you feel welcome, and smile. Bathrooms are super clean. Female dorm is large and has air con. Shared kitchen was great to have and there's filtered water throughout the facility. Free shuttle daily to falls. Free dinner Thursday nights was my fave (should add this meal to the menu!). Wifi worked in common areas and was good enough to remote work. Livingstone is quiet and easy to roam around. My favourite cafe nearby was Nomad Cafe (delicious Americano!). Best hostel in Livingstone, highly recommend 👏

I had a great stay at Jollyboys Backpackers! The facility was clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to answer questions or offer support. I also really enjoyed the outings—they were well-organized and a fantastic way to explore the area. Highly recommend!

Very poor management!!! During my stay they were renovating their toilets and showers. I can accept noise for one night but on a daily base until 4am is just careless to any guest and I mean proper construction noise. Room is small and doesn't have a fridge, public area has 3 fridges and 2 stoves and only one is working. In this price range I expect a Def. More. During my whole stay which was over a week, I haven't seen any manager on duty to address my issues. Staff is very nice but it's obvious that they are not motivated how they get treated by the management. Honestly you find way better places in livingstone for way less money. Also they do not stick to any rules which are stated on the paper in the room. Honestly can't recommend to stay there only good to go for a drink! Furthermore it was not for a short time of my stay it was for the whole stay. You had to redo everything because you installed the wrong (slippery) tiles.

I stayed at Jollyboys Backpackers from the 1st to the 4th of September, and this was about my tenth time here! Every stay reminds me why I keep coming back – it truly feels like home away from home.||The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always making sure guests feel comfortable. The atmosphere is relaxed, vibrant, and gives you the chance to connect with both fellow travelers and local Zambians.||If you’re coming to Livingstone, don’t waste money on luxury hotels. Jollyboys offers everything you need – comfort, great vibes, and an authentic Zambian experience – all at excellent value.||I’m even considering bringing a group of 10–15 women here in the future so they can experience this wonderful place for themselves.||Highly recommended for anyone visiting Zambia!

Had a very positive experience at Jollyboys except for the continual foot traffic in and out of the dorm well into the early morning hours. The door squeaks and bangs shut so sleeping through people's movements in and out is extremely difficult but I guess that's what you put up with in a dorm.|Other issue is the lack of hooks on the bathroom door or wall - there's nowhere to hang things.|Great hostel, great vibe - would definitely stay again.
