Just got back from a long weekend staying in this excellent quaint hotel. Our room was exceptionally clean and the bed extremely comfy. Excellent location with the bars and restaurants at Mermaid Quay only metres away. The vibrant city centre is just a few bus stops or short boat trip away. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Thanks very much, we really enjoyed our stay.

The rooms are lovely and the bathrooms are spacious with bathtubs. The most annoying things is the self check-in, which would also have been fine if they provided the correct information during the booking. You get your code to the front door and the room door in your email when you book. It is also easy to figure out the codes for the other rooms... So don't leave your card key in the key box when you are out for the day. Overall great place and really good location. They just have poor (non existent) check in service which probably doesn't happen all the time!

Stayed for 3 nights in September 2012 and loved every minute. I had the room with the large private balcony which was quite cozy and had a luxuriously huge bathtub.. The staff was helpful and welcoming and had lots of great suggestions for nearby things to do and places to see. The Bar Cwtch downstairs served excellent meals and drinks and if you go out the back door to the patio, you might recognize a certain blue police box painted on the door! It is in the perfect location as well, right in the thick of the nightlife in Cardiff Bay!

This is a lovely hotel in an amazing location. It is directly across from the millennium theatre and next to a number of restaurants, bars and shops. The beds are very comfortable and the facilities are well decorated. If possible, request a room upstairs, as the downstairs can be noisy in the morning when guests are headed to breakfast.

Amazing hotel, superb location, great price and lovely people! What more can you ask? We were made SO welcome and the room was beautiful and comfortable. Definitely say here regularly from now on!

We went there for our wedding anniversary and tried to leave half way through the night where it was soooo bad. No hot water, table booked for a meal was full of Used glasses. Staff tried to keep us happy by giving us half empty fizz from the wedding party. We ended up moving rooms to try and get hot water which ended up directly above the wedding disco. Worst night ever and they still charged us!!!

Arrived late on Sunday afternoon and received a warm welcome. Loved our room, huge and very comfortable bed with a great view across to the millennium centre. Breakfast was decent, maybe a little dry for my taste but staff were attentive and happy to provide whatever we asked for. I would highly recommend Jolyon's, brilliant location just a few steps from the bars and restaurants of Mermaid Quay.

Not really a hotel any longer, more serviced rooms. When we stayed here a year ago, my impression was bijou and quite luxurious. Not the same feeling now. No staff. Self check-in with keys in fiddly lock boxes by bedroom doors. Feels a bit soulless but cannot beat the location for visiting Cardiff Bay.

Yelp
This is a great hotel to stay in with a particular sense of style that will certainly not leave most people wanting.

Yelp
As a Cardiff resident, I haven't required accommodation in Jolyons' boutique hotel unfortunately, but it's one of the first places I recommend for any weary traveller in need of a quaint and charming abode. I came here a few years ago when the hotel offered an open day for local events organisers (I was dating one at the time, so of course I tagged along). We toured each of the six rooms, all sumptuously decorated and boasting amazing views of the Bay. But the rooms aren't just beautiful, they're functional as well, with free Wifi and an iPod dock fitted in each. One of the best things about staying here would be the access to Bar Cwtch, where you can enjoy a full Welsh breakfast in the dining area. It's also a fantastic bar to enjoy a few evening drinks before heading out to the surrounding Mermaid Quay bars and restaurants. Jolyons often runs special offers, so it's worth enquiring when you call to make a booking (an online reservation system will be available soon).

Yelp
Jolyon's was one of the first boutique hotels to open in Cardiff. In a brilliant townhouse location across from the Wales Millennium Centre, the swish yet intimate structure offers just six much sought-after rooms. The bars and restaurants of Mermaid Quay and the Cardiff Bay waterfront are also just a short walk away. Rooms are plush and minimal with antique flourishes from ornate wooden headboards to corner cabinets. Other bonuses include king-sized beds, Wi-fi facilities, free-to-view television, and views of Cardiff Bay. Add to this en-suite bathrooms and extra large fluffy towels and you've got yourself one sweet sleeping (or not-sleeping ;) ) experience. Lying in bed in your lavish surroundings you'd laugh at me if I told you it used to be a seaman's lodge but it was, honest, it was. Bar Cwtch is a good place to cuddle up for a drink in too.

Yelp
Very impressed with the pub and the quality of their coffee. Superb service, in elegant setting, with very friendly staff. Very reasonably priced and highly recommended!

Yelp
A boutique hotel with a big heart. Nice hotel to stay while in Cardiff. I understood what they meant by boutique hotel when I walked into the lobby, very small lobby. On the other hand, the rooms are very roomy, all the rooms are suites and have a separate living room with a wet bar and a separate bedroom/bathroom. The rooms are very clean and I was surprised how quiet the rooms are. The bathrooms are not huge but they are usable, the showers have the rain type shower faucet and if you like to take baths you can hit the light therapy button which changes the lights into 7 different colors in the bathtub, no I did not take a bath. I think my favorite part of the hotel was the restaurant which was surprisingly delicious and well managed. The daily breakfast costs 10 pounds ($15) and includes a buffet with cereal, fruit, pastries, and juices, in addition, it includes 6 different meals on the menu like a typical Welsch breakfast, or just eggs and sausages. I didn't have lunch here but I had dinner a couple of times and it was delicious. The location is great, you are about 5 minutes from Cardiff castle and 10 minutes from center of town with all the pubs and restaurants. If you don't have much time you can always hit the Westgate pub which is just down the street and have a ping of Brains SA.The staff here was fantastic, I met Alba, Arturo, and Jose and they took care of all my needs in the restaurant to the point that they reserved the same table for me every morning, that was a nice touch. If I comeback to the area I would definitely stay here. Cheers.
