This hidden gem is great for weary travellers looking for a rejuvenating meal. They serve three different types of soups (lamb, seafood, vegan) with bread - buffet style. We also enjoyed the amber ale.

We stopped at Jon Riki’s for dinner during a very cold and rainy day. We planned on having some meals we saw on the google reviews, but surprisingly the soup buffet consisting of veggie, lamb and seafood soup was the only option on the menu (besides some desserts). The seafood and lamb soups were great, very filling. The bread was fresh and warm. The atmosphere was a bit off, although the place itself is very cozy and welcoming, we felt like we have to talk in a low voice, it was unpleasantly quiet. Another downside is the price. Although it is a buffet style and you can taste all the soups and have as many refills as you want, it is still too expensive. There are no options for children, so I think it’s only worth it for hungry adults craving some good soup.

By far the best lamb stew/soup I’ve ever had in my life. Actually this is the best stew/soup in general I’ve ever had. Everything is homemade and fresh ingredients. The owners are polite friendly and hospitable. The beer is fantastic too and the bread also perfect. I long for the day I can make it back to Iceland because this is without a doubt at the top of the food in Iceland tier list. 100/10!

We absolutely loved this place! At first we weren‘t sure if we were in the right place as it is located just off the road on a small farm. The owners were super friendly and we instantly felt welcome. The interior was nicely decorated and felt really homely. There were two soups of the day to choose from (lamb and vegetable soup) which were both super delicious and you could help yourself to as much as you want. The fresh bread was also incredible. The place is also a brewery and we tried some of their beer. Even though the opening hours say 18 to 20hrs, it is fine as long as you arrive before 20hrs. Overall we can only recommend coming here. It felt like a truly Icelandic experience!

Authentic farm to table gem with delicious food! We had an amazing meal in this quaint and cute restaurant. Flavors and freshness were spot on. We had great service and would love to come back when live music is going. The views from every window were stunning and scenic! Our best meal in Iceland by far!

It was simply delicious. We made a reservation and showed up an hour early. Staff was accommodating. We had tomatoe soup, sherperds pie and panna cotta. We loved everything. Can't stop talking about this meal the whole Iceland trip. Beer was amazing too!!! Also, nice view of the glacier. Best meal in Iceland.

What a pleasant place to go. A delicious meal in a bucolic setting. Their shepherds pie, lamb, and chickpea curry were all delicious and the IPA brewed by Jon Riki was great too. Thank you for great service and a warm meal. I saw reviews saying the menu is limited, which is fair for a small local place, especially post-pandemic, so check it out first so you know what to expect! Everything we ordered was tasty and we had our best meal in Iceland here.

All they offer is soup but on a cold day like this it hit the spot. All were tasty, especially the lamb soup.
