Yelp
This place more than deserves it's 5-star rating. I am glad that I too had a 5-Star experience.
Cafe is a bit un-Viennese. There is no smoking, no food (Aside from cakes), and no newspapers. They also offer filter coffee.
Design overall is much cleaner (simpler) than very Viennese cafes. It is similar to a small cafe in the United States. The kind where people come to enjoy their coffee, work on their computers, and spend time with friends.
They have a relatively selection of beverages and cakes. Yet, I still find this is more than enough to keep it interesting. This is because you have a choice of three different kinds of coffees, which are organic and fair trade.
I had the "Square Mile"? Filter coffee and the cake with Apple slices on top (forgot the name).
Filter coffee, rather than being poured out of a large decanter, is ground when you order, and filtered by hand (barista carefully pours water through the filter).
Suffice it to say, when I got my coffee and tried it, I mouthed "This is F***ing delicious". Excuse my French, but it really was. The coffee temperature was excellent; hot, but drinkable right away. Also, I usually take my coffee with milk, but with this one, I didn't even feel the need to ask for it, no sugar really needed either.
The cake I had was the one that had the little apple slices on top. What a pleasant surprise! I have found that too many Austrian cakes run a little on the dry side. This was moist all the way through. It was also not overly sweet, the sweetest was the jam separating the cake from the apples, very pleasant too! Consistency was a bit... um, earthy? I didn't like this too much, but after the third bite, it grew on me.
A little pricey, but that is to be expected with organic/fair trade items.
Service was wicked nice!
... I do however have a few constructive criticisms of this place. First, it would have been nice if I was offered milk or cream for my coffee. Second, it came with no spoon or stirrer to add sugar (available at each table).
