The 38 Best Restaurants in Santiago, Chile | Eater

"Sanguchería history runs deep in Santiago, but with a new wave of young chefs embracing the cuisine, the classics are getting redefined in new and exciting ways. Among the best to tackle the cuisine and make it its own is José Ramon 277 in barrio Lastarria. Inside this casual sanguchería, you’ll find the young and cool sipping on pints pulled from 12 taps of Chilean craft beers while they pick at pichanga (cubed pork snout with pickled cauliflower, carrot, and olives) and wait for their food. The restaurant’s take on the lengua sandwich is a local favorite, but the plateada (brisket) is worth just as much attention. The mechada (slow-cooked beef) sandwich may seem typical, but the surprising addition of a sweet corn pastel de choclo, mixed with olives, caramelized onions, and fried egg, makes it stand out. Wish this had been a vendor at the Lollapalooza, as the sandwiches and meat were much higher quality than what was on offer there (maybe shouldn't be surprised). The sopaipillas were great as an appetizer (though there's a lot of them, so be prepared). Churrasco Chacarero sandwich also recommended.

We came here twice - once to try the sandwiches and a second time for drinks. The setting is lovely, the sandwiches were great (a substantial meal) and the staff were very attentive. I would definitely recommend!

This is a proper sandwich restaurant! The portions are enormous and will likely fill you up even when ordering a 1/2 sandwich. Even the sopapilla order was enormous. There is a huge beer and drink selection, especially when you see the many different pisco cocktail options available. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, and staff did speak a bit of English.

Lovely bar. Brilliant small plates, we did not try mains but other peoples looked good! Amazing staff with a great range of beers, cocktails and wine. Not to be missed.

The best sandwich we had in Santiago and great selection of beers. Very crowded with locals! Our waitress was excellent! Highly recommended!!

Google
Great bar and restaurant if you are looking for good empanadas and Chilean sandwiches. The tongue is perfectly cooked and delicious. Empanadas are large and great for sharing. The place gets busy. Nice patio area. Google has 2 locations right now. The one down the alley is the correct one. It’s not on the main avenue.

I discovered this hidden gem by accident and they have their own brewed beers, great quaint atmosphere with a local vibe and excellent service. I had their double IPA and black triple IPA, and the crudo, everything was to die for! Fully recommend it!

Stopped in for an afternoon snack. Good food, good beer, nothing else you can really ask for. Sandwiches are a hearty size.
