Yelp
unfortunately, I have to give them a bad review. Not for the food, as it was good. But...3 of us had lunch, that according to their menu prices, should have been about $31.00 for the food ($9, 11, and 11) Plus we had two waters and one soft drink. The bill came to $42.16. When I questioned the cashier about the separate pricing, she didn't have it...just $42.16. I started going over with her the pricing...then she said..."Oh, we are making a new menu and charging the new pricing...$1 extra per entree". I told her that we ordered off of her menu ( the one they were using for everyone) and expected to pay the prices on the menu. She then said..."Oh...we can't do that because you have already eaten the food"...and that is a quote! I said...wouldn't it be correct to charge the price you list on your menu, and that is what I expect to pay. She again said..."well, you have already eaten the food". We went round and round a few times.
This wasn't about the money. If I don't like the price, I don't have to eat at a restaurant...BUT...I expect to pay what the menu says. They don't give you an itemized breakdown...just an total...and she would not give me one. I asked to speak to the owner...she came back and he had
said to take $2 off of the total. Fine...the whole point was missed. I have owned two restaurant....IF there was any issue like this...it should have been handled right away with out this going back and forth...and her refusal to write down what exactly I was paying for.
Ok...somewhat resolved...but...ASK for an ITEMIZED bill at this place. This is not the first time I walked out of Josefina's not sure of what I paid for.
So...she refunded my $42.16, then charged me $42. I then left a tip...as it wasn'T about the price, but what I was paying for. The service was quick and efficient.
