"In 2006, we began making wine in a garage for people like us — back then it was all about creating high-quality wines that go with laid back experiences, always bringing it back to food, friendship, and family."

Love Joseph Jewell Wines and the staff, they make you feel like family! Wonderful pinots from RRV and Humboldt county and a cool tasting room. My faves- Rubies of course 😉 and Bootleggers, honestly they are all beautifully crafted. Just tasted Elk Prairie and was also very impressive. Looking forward to my next visit!

Google
Very awesome experience. We reserved a picnic lunch and the tasting, information, picnic, and whole experience was top notch and five stars. April was fantastic and answered all of our questions and even though she was running the tasting room by herself, did not hurry us along. Definitely recommend this winery and their wines to everyone.

A most memorable tasting experience always: exceptional wines, a superbly knowledgeable team, and beautiful tasting room. Joseph Jewell Winery consistently over delivers and exceeds expectations by offering superior customer service, ethereal wines ranging from Ritchie Vineyard Chardonnay to single vineyard Pinot Noirs that can age beautifully yet be delicious when young. Highest compliments to winemaker Adrian for his stellar hospitality, dedicated artistry, and resourcefulness in finding terrific grapes from a broad range of appellations. Grateful Cheers to Joseph Jewell Winery!

We have been club members for a number of years. My wife loves their chardonnays and Roses while I am a major fan of the Pinot Noirs. The wines are well crafted and fairly priced. When visiting the tasting room or meeting the staff at a vineyard for a tasting we have always feel like we are receiving special treatment. We have always been made to feel like we are part of the family.

We had a delightful and informative wine tasting experience with David! Although we’ve been tasting Pinot Noirs for years, the offerings at Joseph Jewell really highlight and enhance the qualities of this wonderful grape varietal.

Be sure to check out their Friday Night Wine Lounge, open until 8pm! Walks ins are welcome. So fun to find a winery that is open past 5pm. Their tasting room is welcoming and the staff are super fun!

Google
Adrian I have always liked my Joseph Jewell Wines. From my first taste of the Russian River Pinot Noir in 2015 on Treadway Drive in Cloverdale to the Bucher Vineyard wine I had two nights ago with smoked salmon. I have seen the Joseph Jewell wines consistently improve year by year, and especially in the last 3-4 years. I have definitely liked the rebranding. I do think a lot of wine raters need to lower their radar because they are missing out on some very nice wine. Keep up the good work, and I will always have Joseph Jewell Wine in my cellar.

We had a tasting with April and she was fantastic! Very warm and welcoming, incredibly knowledgeable, and very funny as well. Our whole experience with her was so relaxed and fun, with delicious wine on top of it. We will come back anytime we're in town and highly recommend others do too. It was great! Thank you April!

Yelp
My favorite wine find!! I first tasted the wines at Healdsburg Crush in 2023 and was amazed at the Rubies Pinot Noir. Best wine I tasted in that event. This year it was Bootleggers! Just wow, in a region known for Pinots these are a standout. Such balance, nice acidity and soft tannins. Well done! So, i had to come to the tasting room, such a cool place! Regan - you are amazing! Best host hands down. The fact that you remembered that I liked the Rubies was beyond impressive. Thanks for such a fun and informative tasting. Goes without saying... Left with a few bottles of the Rubies and Bootleggers! And a membership in the club! Keep up the good work and looking forward to more visits!

Yelp
I haven't been here in quite awhile and miss their wines! Went recently for a tasting which included some lovely "bites". I love love their Pinot's - bought some and plan to share with others at Thanksgiving. Highly highly recommended.

Yelp
We stopped by 15-20 minutes before closing and asked if it was OK if we did a tasting, wanting to be considerate, saying we would be happy to come back another day if not. We were told we could do a quick one, which was OK with us. Despite what he said, it turned out it was clearly not OK with the man working there, who was passive aggressive with us and kept questioning why WE came in since they weren't a big operation. It was very odd. We kept asking him if he would prefer we come back and he would say "No," but kept being rude. He realized he was being difficult and apologized for his attitude, but all he had to do was ask us to come back another day and all would have been fine. We both loved the Chardonnay, but left without buying a bottle, much less a case and without tasting any Pinot Noirs, which is why we stopped in to begin with. The stars are for the one wine + at least he bothered to apologize. We won't be back. Hope you have better luck (and timing).

Yelp
Loved finding this spot. Thanks for all the Yelp reviews. Cozy tasting room with lovely couches and chairs. We were set up right by the window. The service was excellent. The wines were delicious. It made our afternoon.

Yelp
Second time here, doing better documentation for future me. Wine wine wine. I love wine. (did I hit 85 characters get?)

Yelp
Joseph Jewell was (without question) - my favorite five star find of 2022. Why? They produce amazing value driven wine and staffed by friendly people who have passion and driven to make you feel like you're their only customer. We discovered Joseph Jewell back this past spring. Oddly enough, it was our friends from Nebraska who suggested we take a drive out and have a tasting. From my first sip I knew immediately their wine is special. April was our hostess for the afternoon, she was filled with a vast knowledge of the industry and along with her quick wit and sense of humor made our experience super enjoyable and we left wanting more. The wanting more part of this story I jumped on and joined their wine club. Joseph Jewell makes a point of selling high end quality wine at a much lower price than other producers at similar quality. They also stock a few surprises that are hard to find anywhere else, such as a beautiful pinot noir with grapes sourced from Humboldt County and zinfandel that isn't "jammy" but structured more in a style of a bigger bolder wine that can easily stack up to a ribeye. If you're into sparkling, do yourself a favor and try theirs-they have one that's bottled in a style that is unique and different along with a more traditional that you (are probably) more used to tasting. If you're a fan of small production wine and stocks wine that will WOW the most discerning wine drinker, this is your place.

Yelp
Outstanding experience at Joseph Jewell wines! Wines are excellent, great customer service and a very knowledgeable tasting room team. We can't wait to go back!

Chuck R.

Yelp
Great wine tasting experience with Regan. Excellent wines, outstanding Pinot Noir's. Arrived as guests and left as members. Worth the drive to this awesome little tasting room.

Bryan B.

Yelp
This is a gem in Forestville. The pinot here is second to none and the only thing better is the amazing staff. April is such a great host/tasting manager with a breadth of knowledge about wine that blows me away. She immediately made us feel comfortable and welcome. We are now members!

Arturo T.

Yelp
We have been members of JJW for 5+ years and stopped by yesterday to pickup our Jewell and JJW shipments. It was a quiet afternoon and Regan the tasting room manager/host greeted us with a smile and we caught up on the latest happenings and began our tastings. As always the JJW and Jewell wines did not disappoint. I love the Humboldt County wines and the Eel River and Elk Prarie Pinots were delicious, more importantly the quality of the wines and price point is what makes these wines so great! My wife's favorite was the 2020 JJW Bucher Pinot and we took home a bottle of that and the 2021 Jewell Ritchie Chardonnay on top of the shipments we were picking up. Regan as always was an awesome host, very knowledgable about the wines and could easily discern what wines we wanted to taste next based on our comments and input. This is a great place to spend some time tasting small production Chardonnays and Pinots in a quaint but nicely decorated tasting room. Once you have been here, you'll want to come back again.

Yelp
This family owned and operated winery is a Forestville gem. Adrian, the owner and winemaker is very talented, using locally sourced grapes from Sonoma County. We joined their club this past summer, and have enjoyed the intimate experiences at their beautiful establishment. The high quality of their wines are delicious. We love the atmosphere, always welcoming and unpretentious.

Megan L.

Yelp
So glad I made a trip out to Forestville this weekend to do some tasting. I had wanted to visit Joseph Jewell after reading about the Vermentino Pet-Nat that made a Sonoma County top 100 list, and it did not disappoint. The other wines were lovely as well (first time trying wine made from Humboldt County fruit!) but even better was April, the tasting room manager, who was the best wine educator I've had in a long, long time. She knew how to "read the room" to gauge the right amount of information to give different groups and made the tasting fun and interesting while also educational.

Sarah N.

Yelp
We stopped in on Saturday around 2 pm and had a wonderful experience thanks to April, who was behind the bar. We didn't have time for a tasting but we loved the single glass pours. April's knowledge of wine was incredible and the story behind this label is pretty darn cool. Highly recommend stopping here if you are in the neighborhood!

Jess V.

Yelp
Love this winery. Great pinot noir Love the taste. NOT A FAN! Of the new label but loved the juice!!! the lion label was great!! but this new one is boring, doesn't pop,non unique.. Non classy, What I loved about the old label was that it pops, elegant, unique, awesome..it was the thing that attracted me to stop and do a tasting..please rethink the redesign!!!

Crystle R.

Yelp
The perfect Wine Country girls weekend experience. My friends and I came here looking for a unique experience any boy did Joseph Jewell Wines deliver! Not only are their wines delicious and unique. April was delightful and informative her ability to read the group was fantastic. We had a private tasting with a tour and lunch in the vineyard. She pared our wines perfectly with the boxed lunch we had. This was one of THE most unique and delicious wine tastings I have ever had. Thank you April for making our long over due girls weekend perfect.

Teresa S.

Yelp
Chappy is amazing. He was so knowledgeable on his wine and offered great suggestions. He was super friendly and offered even more wine tasting suggestions for other local wineries. As for the wine, delicious. I had a glass of 2020 Vertentino, crisp and light, nice wine. The 2016 Syrah had subtle hints of oak, nice on the palette.

Barb R.

Yelp
A delightful tasting experience! April is a fantastic and fascinating host with deep winemaking knowledge -- and also heartfelt passion for the craft, places, stories, people, and work behind what we're drinking. She let us linger so we could really appreciate the nuances, and graciously answered our questions. Great conversation all around. Oh -- and the wines are delicious! We especially loved the vermentino sparkling wine and the various pinot noirs, each one outstanding in a different way. A happy discovery.

Cynthia G.

Yelp
My husband and I had a wonderful Joseph Jewell pinot noir at JG Skyhigh in Philadelphia and stopped in Forestville last week for a tasting. Wonderful wines; lovely experience. April is the perfect host--friendly, knowledgeable, kind--the single vineyard pinot noirs and the chardonnay were amazing, among the best we've ever had... easy to like and yet complicated. We are trying hard not to drink the bottles we brought home immediately! We were especially fortunate as we got to meet and thank Adrian as well! Perfect.

Matthew C.

Yelp
I will preface my review with the statement that I only had one of the wines and it was the 2016 Grist Vineyard Zinfandel. I really enjoyed it. We had rented a house in Forestville and we were looking to do one tasting before going to dinner. Joseph Jewell is open to 7 pm on Friday. We hung out here catching up with friends we had not seen in a long time. The gentleman doing the tasting was super friendly and very accommodating. I enjoyed this place. I would stop here again the next time I am in the area and try all of the wines.

Keith B.

Yelp
Today was once of the nicest wine tasting experiences I've ever had. I booked the lunch at the vineyard and we had an amazing tour and lunch. It was a perfect day to be out there and the Starscape Vineyard is very beautiful. For me, it's the experiences combined with great wines that make for an amazing experience. You should book it, you won't be disappointed.

Vicki L.

Yelp
Nice relaxed tasting room. Good service. Nice wines. Reasonably priced. Easy parking.

Kelli H.

Yelp
Came here last weekend for a tasting with a group of four. The gentleman pouring for us was very friendly. The tasting room was pretty much empty. It had a nice atmosphere in there and interesting art on the walls. The guy pouring the wine had lots of personality, described the wines well, and was overall enjoyable. The wine itself was good, but nothing that I thought was amazing! I enjoyed the floodgate pinot and the Humboldt was also memorable (because I'd never had wine from Humboldt county). What I didn't love was the $20 tasting fee that isn't comped unless you buy 4 bottles. Woah! That's pretty steep. They also provide a $10 tasting menu but you must buy two bottles to have that comped. What could have been an awesome experience was a little tainted by that sticker price. I realize the wine is expensive to produce but there is no way I drank $20 worth of wine. The pours were small 1 oz pours and I felt wasn't worth the price. After buying a bottle at $40 and paying $20 for the tasting fee I felt a little sick when I got home that the experience was $60 for a pretty quick tasting. I had a bit of buyers remorse. I probably won't be visiting the tasting room again. I'm glad I gave it a try but I'd rather go somewhere that is a little more easygoing with their tasting fees.

Yelp
This place is awesome!!!!!! We happened on this place as a referral from another place we tasted at. We were met by Andy's friendly face and had a fabulous time. He is super friendly and knowledgable about the wines. And OMG! The WINES! They have some AMAZING Pinots. Truly. And I am a wine snob, so I know my wines. Our favorites are the Halberg Pinot and the Rubies Pinot. So much so, that we decided to join the wine club (which now makes 12 for us). We have been to a few events here since we joined and had a blast. I HIGHLY recommend this winery for anyone who is a Pinot Noir fan. Their is the best of the best, in my opinion. Go in and ask for Andy. He will treat you well, for sure. :)

Andrew R.

Yelp
On our way to Sebastopol we stopped by this tasting room. They had a lot of unique paintings inside and some tasty wines. I usually do not drink Pinot Noirs; but I enjoyed the flight which included one Chardonnay and 3 Pinot's. I am a little unfamiliar with the North Coast and the wine grown in the area. Sam helped with that, and she was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and other information. She hooked us up with free tastings at some other places and told us about her favorites.

Jax R.

Yelp
The best Pinots I've had in the Russian River area - very easy decision to join the wine club. If you love Pinot, you will not be disappointed. Owner/winemaker Adrian is fantastic, and if you're lucky, you can meet Nicole in the tasting room.

Andrew C.

Yelp
Fantastic Pinot Noir wines and an excellent Rose if you are lucky enough to snag some before they sell out! Highly highly recommend making this a destination on your wine country adventure. Great little tasting room and very friendly staff. Here you get what you pay for... GREAT WINE! not some rich families personal chalet. Micah and Adrian are 2 of the hottest, most up and coming wine makers in the valley and they make highly rated wines.

Mel F.

Yelp
My family went to Sonoma for our first time this past March, and we visited about 15 wineries during our stay. Joseph Jewel was HANDS DOWN our favorite wine and tasting experience. We had a group of 8 and Micah gave us a private tour and tasting, which was simply outstanding. We tasted wine straight from a barrel, a vat, and of course, from a couple of bottles. Their Pinot Noirs are to die for. Seriously. This was the only wine club my family joined while in wine country, and their "Rubies" Pinot Noir was what my [now] fiancé and I drank the night we got engaged. It's THAT special of a wine. It is probably my favorite wine I've ever had. It seems Joseph Jewell is still a bit of a "best kept secret" in the area - our tour guide didn't even know about the place. She wasn't drinking (because she was driving), but she saw how crazy we were going for the wine, and she even bought a bottle for herself! You bet if we are back in the area, this will be our first stop!

Brianna J.

Yelp
Great wine here! We bought a bottle of the Pinot to take home. Elizabeth was a fantastic and knowledgeable hostess. Tasting waived with purchase. We will definitely be back!

Roya T.

Yelp
I can't believe this is the first review for Joseph Jewell Wines... Living in wine country for 5 years, I can say that I am pretty picky about what I choose to drink or serve when it comes to wine- and Joseph Jewell takes the experience to a whole new level. The history behind the wine, which you can get from the young winemakers is reason enough to try it- they really know wine and know the process of meticulously creating God's greatest potion. If you are looking for a new wine to enjoy, or share with others, I recommend you contact these guys and get in on Sonoma County's best kept secret!

Willow R.

Yelp
Came in on a rainy day when they were doing an exclusive event but we still got the royal treatment. Can't say enough about how great they were to us. Their pinots are some of my favorites and I keep coming back, and finding more to love. Dawn is great, she's been in every time I have but recently we met the two owners as well. Great, humble, down to earth people making AWESOME wine. Love it!

Mark H.

Yelp
Thank you Dawn for hosting us for a GREAT tasting. We could've camped out there all weekend! Mr Joseph and Mr Jewell are on to something special. You'd be wise to stop in a buy these wines while you still can - I suspect it won't be long before you have to be on "the list" to access them. Keep up the great work - already looking forward to next time.

Makenzi C.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! The team that runs Joseph Jewell has so much passion and knowledge for the industry. They are all welcoming and keep the place running with a great energy. All the wines we had were great! I am a huge Pinot fan, so woohoo they have a great selection! The space itself is very chic and trendy. It seems like it can accommodate both large and small groups. I will definitely be heading back!

Jim B.

Yelp
Great wine and great personal service in the tasting room. Very relaxed environment to enjoy the great Pinots.

Carol C.

Yelp
We made an impromptu stop at this tasting room since it was across the parking lot from our lunch spot. So glad we did, because this was definitely the best winery of the day! Andy was knowledgeable, engaging and did such a great job describing each of the single vineyard wines. Loved all the wines and the ambience of the tasting room. We only bought a couple bottles since it was our first stop of the day, but we will definitely be back!

Amanda H.

Yelp
To be fair, I liked the wines and the ambiance and decor were swank. Call it my midwestern sensibilities, but when a place doesn't comp your tasting when you buy a bottle of wine, I think that is poor form. We avoid Napa at all costs because of the hoopla and overpriced experience. This was our first time in this place after having popped around at several wineries in this area in the past. Not only was it the smallest pour I've seen in the area, you needed to buy 2 bottles to comp the $10 tasting or 4 bottles for the $20 tasting!!! Seriously? You gave me about $1 worth of wine and yet you can't comp a shared tasting for a couple (not some bridal shower, tour bus troup)? So we took our money to the next winery.

Rob E.

Yelp
Super cool place right in this groovy small town. Really nice guy serving up the tastings, he went out of his way to accommodate us. The wine was delicious as well as a fun atmosphere. I will go back next time.

Brad D.

Yelp
What a great experience. We went here on a Saturday early, and Dawn was in the tasting room on the phone with a client. She was gracious with that person and excused herself to deal with us. She was a rockstar--it's as simple as that. She was engaging and genuine and poured the wines, shared the story of the two owners, and made us feel welcome. I work in this industry and I have to tell you--this was a great experience! I joined the wine club--I don't do that easily--and I look forward to the wine club pickup parties. When you find yourself in Forestville and adjoining areas make it a point to stop in, try the wines, and experience the excellent hospitality.

Brian S.

Yelp
I attended a private wine makers event that Joseph Jewell put together and their wines are exceptional across the board! The wine makers have a great history and a ton of hands-on knowledge. My current favorite is the '09 Appian Way Pinot (Russian River), pairs well with EVERYTHING! Also really enjoy their other pinots and their zin. Almost forgot, they have a sauv blanc that is great to start with, lots of fruit and great crisp/clean finish. Took home some wine and it has been a big favorite at dinner parties. I spend a good amount of time in wine country and always make it a point to get to know smaller up-and-coming wineries, something I'd recommend to everyone. JJ have quickly become one of my favorites.

Louise G.

Yelp
We tried their wine with dinner over at Scopa in Healdsburg and just fell in love with it.. Oddly enough we stumbled across their tasting room the very next day and had to check it out. They have some delicious Pinot Noir but I love their Zinfandel.. All small batch, hand crafted wines here too. We got to meet one of the wine makers who told us more about their story which made it all the more an endearing experience.

Hanna T.

Yelp
This wine tasting room is elegant and classy. I love the personal attention that you get when you walk in. There is indoor seating at the table, or you can enjoy the lounge area. The place has a modern/rustic decor and is perfect to relax and sip some of the delicious, hand-crafted highly sophisticated Pinot Noirs (4), Chardonnay's and Zinfandel You won't be disappointed if you make a stop here.

Sean H.

Yelp
Hidden gem in wine country, this is a must stop tasting room with incredible Pinot Noir and a wonderful atmosphere. Don't miss it!

Michelle P.

Yelp
We visited Joseph Jewell wines yesterday - it is a little jewel of a tasting room in Forestville. It's beautiful- lovely combination of upscale and rustic yet totally welcoming. We had the great fortune to meet one of the winemakers, Adrian Jewell Manspeaker. He and his colleague Dawn spent an hour with us, pouring several beautiful pinots and a silky, gorgeous zin. We enjoyed the conversation as much as the wine -- especially enjoyed the story of how they got started in their garage. Of the wines, our favorites were the 2011 Hallberg Pinot Noir and the Grist vineyard Zin; however, I would have bought all of them if I'd been able to get them home. We joined the wine club and intend to highlight this winery with fellow Pinot lovers. If you like RRV pinots, you need to go to Joseph Jewell.

R J.

Yelp
We stopped by the new Joseph Jewell tasting room in Forestville this weekend and were warmly greeted by Dawn, the tasting room manager, and both winemakers - Micah and Adrian. What wonderful people and a great tasting room. We were amazed with the wines (mainly the Pinot Noirs and Chardonnay) and left with several cases, in addition to joining the wine club. We will make this a regular stop!

Diane O.

Yelp
Have loved this wine for so long. Really on knew their Chardonnay. Thrilled to find they have a tasting room in Forest View. We have discovered their pinots. Ohms gosh!!! Fabulous wine! We joined the Vase Club and can't wait for our first shipment! Dawn is amazing and will make you feel like a guest in her kitchen. Don't miss it!!!

Barbara C.

Yelp
We found the "Jewell" in Joseph Jewell....it was Dawn. She made us feel like family. We stuck our heads in the door after closing and they were so kind that we came back the next day. Dawn remembered our names and everything we tasted the day before. The wines were amazing. How exciting for such young winemakers to create incredible wines. Joseph Jewell certainly has a bright future. The tasting room is beautiful. We will be back on our next trip up from Southern California to see our new friend Dawn and taste the outstanding wines.

Chris B.

Yelp
This Jewell of the wine country tasting room in Forestville took us by surprise. A rustic but elegant décor lead way to some of the best Pinot Noir I've ever tasted. Although, they focus on Pinot Noir I really enjoyed their Zinfandel and Chardonnay.GREAT WINES, GREAT ATMOSPHERE AND GREAT HOSPITALITY.!!!

Joanne W.

Yelp
This little winery is an excellent example of the best Pinot Noirs in Sonoma county! I love them all but my favorite is Elk Prairie! The two gentlemen who own the winery have what it takes to make great wines!
