this is not a restaurant. it's simply the most devine chocolatier in Paris. it's simple: i am carrying $500 of chocolates to my family in California. this happens every trip.

This is really two wonderful chocolate shops in one. In the window you'll see lovely, elegant and whimsical chocolate sculptures. Inside you'll also find a large variety of free-form bars of single-source chocolates from around the world. I would suggest you go out of your way to visit, but that's not necessary, because it's right around the corner from Place des Vosges which you're going to visit anyway.

The best chocolate in Paris, and I have tasted a lot of them. Very beautiful creations too. Perfect for a nice gift.

Nous avons récemment découvert cette chocolaterie avec ma compagne, que nous recommandons grandement. L'accueil est excellent, comme à la maison, dans une ambiance familière et chaleureuse. Ce sont des gens passionnés qui vous aideront à choisir des produits selon vos préférences. Mention spéciale aux barres chocolatées à la pâte de pistache (elle n'a pas tenue longtemps).

I'm in love...with Joséphine Vannier's chocolates. Located in the high-class neighborhood La Place des Vosges, this chocolate shop is famous for its chocolate sculptures of the Eiffel Tower and other extravagant entities. It is also famous for their extraordinarily delicious chocolates. They don't come cheap, by the way, but then again, who cares? Made with love and extreme attention to detail and design, these petite pieces of chocolate are truly works of art. Some are stuffed with flavors such as passion fruit and currant(!), some are infused with green tea or chili, and some are just old-fashioned praline and dark chocolate. I bought 10 pieces and I finished them all by the next day. They are seriously addictive. A piece of heaven in each bite, each morsel. They were so good, that I wanted to buy some for my family as souvenirs went I returned home. Unfortunately, the shop was closed for summer vacation when I went back a few weeks later. My heart broke... :'( Regardless, I vow to return to this awesome chocolate shop in the future. I swear, I could rob this place of all of its chocolates- I want them all!

An outstanding selection and heavenly chocolate quality. Unfortunately I didn't discover it till I had already bought my gifts from another store.

If you're looking for chocolate as art check out the selection of chocolate here that is made into interesting objects, almost too good to eat. If you are invited to dinner in a Parisian's home it's a good idea to bring a gift. They have several truffles that have candied ginger in them that are my favorite.

Excellent chocolaterie. Great variety and amazing tastes. Very courteous service too. Very nicely located near the Bastille, not too far from Place des Vosges.
