Family of 5 stayed here for 2 nights. Kids are 14,12 and 11. We found it warm and clean and the food was delicious and plentiful. A huge plate of meatballs, roast pork and potatoes was appreciated after a long day hiking. Rooms were simple but comfortable and we could hear the river. Also recommend River Pigs white water rafting which operates under the hotel.

We had a 2 night stay at the Jostedal Hotel and it was exactly what we needed.|After a relatively long drive up to the area we were warmly greeted and checked in. It was busy so there was a limited food choice but the meatballs were very good - huge portion!|Breakfast had a huge selection and reasonably priced (for Norway) make your own lunch option. We headed off on a kayak/glacier walk and made use of the underfloor heating to dry our very wet gloves and hats when we got back.|Leila who runs the hotel was super helpful and knowledgeable. We would love to go back|Located right next door to Elevepurna rafting and v close to the glacier.

Great base for lots of activities. Food comes in half portions which are ample for 1. Owners were really accomodating and helpful Rooms had heated bathroom floors great for drying wet clothes

Hospitaliy and helpfulness to the tip of the fingers. Unique, close to fantastic breakfast for such a modest hotel. A relative small menu for dinner. Beds are comfortable, sufficient space in the rooms, small but adequate bathrooms. Located in a stunning scenery.

Superb location if you wish to Ski or raft. We spent 6 nights using the hotel as a base for a Ski touring trip. Each day we were able to have a healthy breakfast, packed lunch and then order simple high energy dinners to a specific time. The staff were always friendly and generally happy to help.

Conclusion First, the hotel was mediocre but Bad for this price. The only reason to go there is for the location its based at, but it shouldnt Rest on that fact. The lunch was a 5/10, the breakfeast had what it needes, but nothing special. The 2 rooms we had were the Biggest Problem. No luxurieus stuff, a hurtfull step beetween bad and Barth, broken Shutters and devinetly not on an european Standard. The Ambiente inside ist bad, but the view outside is great. Its 10 minutes away from the glacier and thats onestly the only point to go there.

The hotel is ideal for the glacier kayaking and rafting trips. We stayed in two family rooms on the second floor (no elevator so need to carry the luggage up). The rooms were quite small, and the bathroom had a shower and good under-floor heating (very useful for drying wet clothing). Service was excellent. Very pretty views from the rooms. Like many Norwegian hotels, the mattresses (three of them!) were too soft. Breakfast was OK but with limited variety.

Convenient location to explore the glacier/national park. Rooms are simple but very clean. The lady working was so lovely and accommodating. Everything in Norway is expensive but the food was a bit overpriced considering it was straight out of the freezer.
