JOURNEY CAMBODIA

Our family of three did the sunrise tour on the last day of November. Sam was our tour guide and Sambath our driver. Sam has a good command of English and was so knowledgeable on the history and culture of Angkor and Cambodia. It was fascinating. He knew all the good spots for photos and on top of that was our photographer for the day, with a good eye for framing each shot. Whenever we got back to the car, Sambath had cold towels and water ready each time. They were both so polite and so helpful throughout the tour. I would highly recommend them both and also Journey Cambodia which made our booking and tour operation seamless. I suggest booking directly with Journey Cambodia which is a locally owned Cambodian tour operator rather than through the big overseas operators. The Cambodians are just beautiful people and dealing directly with them supports their business. I would love to return again one day. The people, the food and the land are amazing.

We had an incredible time with our guide Chhay. We were lucky enough to experience a beautiful sunrise and sunset, and he explained everything perfectly. The temples were already stunning, but the stories he shared — both the historical ones and his own, more personal one — made the experience even more memorable. Chhay is funny, inspiring, and he allowed us to connect with Cambodia in a truly special way. He definitely contributed to our love for this country, and we are sincerely grateful for that. A big thank you as well to Vichet, who drove us throughout the trip with great kindness and professionalism. We highly recommend them!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience on my Angkor tour with guide Sopheap and driver Sambath. I enjoyed every single moment, and the whole day passed by so quickly because everything was so well organized and engaging. Our program included: 1. Angkor Wat temple 2. Ta Prohm temple 3. Angkor Thom city 4. Bayon temple 5. Bakheng temple (sunset) Sopheap was an amazing guide — his English was very clear, which was especially important for me, and I could easily understand everything he explained. I also loved that he shared stories about his life, which helped me learn so much more about Cambodian culture and daily life. It made the tour feel personal and meaningful. Our driver Sambath was incredibly attentive. Every time we returned to the car, he greeted us with cold water and refreshing towels — such small details, but they made the experience even more comfortable and enjoyable. I truly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Angkor. It was unforgettable.

Had an amazing Sunrise cycling trip with Mr Chhay as our cycling and Mr Kheal as our trusty driver! We started the day dark and early. Waited at the Angkor Wat gates and chose our best spot to watch the sunrise. Mr Chhay explained the history very well with good english. After the visit to angkor wat, we started our cycling journey. We were given multiple options to choose. From easy, moderate to difficult biking routes whenever there was a cross roads which was really awesome as we could experience an easy start, increased the difficulty level to a harder one and have the option of increasing more difficulty level or bring it back down to an easy ride! My 2 teenage kids and I (mind u that I have not exercised in like forever) survived the entire 20km journey ending it by riding along the walls of the temple! The entire tour lasted 8 hrs. And the biking portion of it took 3.5hrs! Kudos to Mr Chhay and Mr Kheal for the awesome time! ❤️

We booked the two-day sunset and sunrise small group tour. Although the clouds may have slightly spoiled the perfect view of the sunrise and sunset, that’s definitely not something that can ruin such an amazing trip as this visit to Angkor. Over the two days, we had the chance to see some of the most fascinating temples, enjoy the magical moment of dawn over Angkor Wat, and learn many interesting facts about the temples as well as Cambodia and its history. Our guide, Sak, is not just a guide, he’s also an excellent photographer who knows all the best spots for pictures. He always knew how to balance sharing information with giving us enough free time for independent exploration. He knows the temples like the back of his hand and there’s no question he can’t answer. He’s friendly, engaging, and open, and he truly made this experience as special as it could possibly be. Our driver, Vichet, was also an essential part of this trip. He always welcomed us with cold water, cool towels, and an air-conditioned bus, which felt like pure bliss after long walks in the heat. I’m really happy that Sak and Vichet were in charge of our group because they made this experience truly special and joyful. The small group was a perfect choice, as it gave us a chance to get to know all the members better, which also made the overall experience even more enjoyable. I wholeheartedly recommend Journey Cambodia this was an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. Thank you for everything!

This was an excellent experience and our guide, Sok, was very knowledgeable of all of the sites, history, fauna and geography of Cambodia. If I could give 10 out of 5 I would! The tour was extremely well organised, punctual and entertaining - Sok is very experienced, hospitable and ensured that the timing did not coincide with lots of other groups at the same time, which was made easier as the itinerary could be more flexible as it was over 2 days. He also allocated time for the group to explore independently, which was appreciated. He is a fluent English speaker, was very accommodating and readily answered questions. His good sense of humour and fun made the days very informative, entertaining and enjoyable. Cultural experiences were also incorporated through the visit to a small village and the palm cake. He is an excellent photographer, who knew and advised where to take good photos (including the usual ones and others) and ensured that all members on the tour had their photos taken. I should also add that our driver, Wi Jet, was hospitable, kept us hydrated, gave us cold towels between sites, was punctual and moved the car to make pick up and drop off easier. Overall, an awesome tour and experience, well worth taking.

We spent two days with Chhay as our guide to explore the temples of Angkor, and the experience was exceptional. His explanations were rich, detailed, and genuinely fascinating. He shared a lot of historical context in a way that was both engaging and easy to follow, and he was always happy to answer any questions we had. Thanks to him, we learned so much and enjoyed every moment of the visit. We highly recommend Chhay to anyone looking for an insightful and memorable tour of Angkor!

It was a well organized tour taking me to all the major temples in Siem Reap. Of course Angkor wat, Ta prohm were the most important ones. The tour guide Sak and the driver Black did an incredible job to not only get us as close as possible but also provided us with a lot of information, cold towels and water throughout the day. And it was a long and hot day! The sunset was really nice and the climax of this tour. Keep in mind , it is a full day, hot and involves some walking too. However, if I could do it (65) you can do it too. Highly recommend this tour as a compact tour for those who do not spend weeks in Siem Reap.
